@Alibaba2 did you mean on the previous 40 ttc group or on the pregnant and 40 group?

Alibaba2 · 20/06/2017 12:29

It was on another thread in Conception.

How are you feeling today?

Ekphrasis · 20/06/2017 13:43

Ah I see. I didn't see it. Is there anyway you can link?

I don't feel hugely pregnant thank you for asking, breasts only a little sore but that could be something or nothing. My uterus still feels like a balloon and I'm still smelling everything very strongly!

I'm too scared to poas tbh. I'd rather wait till spotting starts. I've rejoined the 40 pregnant thread but don't expect to stay if long.

How are you doing Ali?

I did decide to take aspirin from ov, though gp still says there's no evidence it helps Hmm.

Alibaba2 · 20/06/2017 21:47

Sure, it's an old thread called "positive opk after miscarriage 2" I think but I'll try to find it tomorrow and refresh it.

I'm feeling a little fed up tonight as getting towards the end of my cycle (well around 10dpo, not sure exactly as not charting or temping), and have been getting twinges in my ovary which makes me think it's waking up for the next cycle. It happens every month. And then normally I get a bit of spotting.

It's been ages now and I feel that as time goes on chances reduce...

Alibaba2 · 24/06/2017 07:38

How's it going Ekphrasis?

Ekphrasis · 24/06/2017 11:36

Hi Ali, thanks for asking. It was a chemical I guess or an early mc. I had 5 days of positives and felt extremely pregnant then it started to fade. They were faint though. It didn't feel like a period either! But hey ho. Back to the drawing board!

Ekphrasis · 24/06/2017 11:39

I'm sorry to hear you're fed up - do you mean it's been ages since you felt ov or had a conception? I'm
Starting to feel like time is running out.

My thyroid levels were very high too which is odd. I've been told to come down a bit, which I agree with but am wondering if I accidentally took a double dose the week before or something.

Alibaba2 · 25/06/2017 14:25

Sorry to hear that Ekphrasis Sad

But encouraging that fertilisation and implantation took place.

We've been trying for over a year now so I'm feeling like that's it.

Alibaba2 · 25/06/2017 14:25

Do you take medication for your thyroid?

Ekphrasis · 25/06/2017 14:30

I'm so sorry ali. How old are you? It may yet still happen.

Yes I do though I must say it's been hard getting the dose right the last few years. And getting a gp to listen to adjusting it when pregnant. I didn't take extra myself though (unless I forgot and did a double dose) so I'm confused as to why it was overactive.

Alibaba2 · 25/06/2017 16:14

I'm 41. When did you get your thyroid tested? Do you have regular tests?

Wasn't it your first month ttc? Really encouraging that you got a BFP first month, even if it did turn out to be a chemical.

Ekphrasis · 25/06/2017 16:50

I've been underactive since I was in my early 20s. So pretty used to it all and know the ins and outs.

Very coincidentally the brand of thyroxine I was on when early preg with my son was faulty and later withdrawn, after messing with my whole first trimester and making it hard to get levels right. So it's hard to compare. I do think I may be on too much. But not by that much.

I've been trying since Jan, fell pregnant second cycle but had a miscarriage later on around 8 wks. When we try we do seem to get pregnant so I guess that is heartening. I'm worried about dh's sperm quality though. Few too many heavy nights out recently. I do temp and use opks and chart ewcm. And we dtd either daily or every other day. I do think that helps. Can be a bit ott though!

41 isn't too late by any means. I'm half way there myself!

Jo42ttc · 28/06/2017 00:13

Hi everyone. Not been on for a while. Been waiting for my body to get back to normal after mc march. On third period/cycle now but it came only 2 weeks after second one. Also I've been bleeding for 3 weeks too 😔 I've been using opk and bbt but failed to find positive ovulation test and don't think I've ovulated since mc. Bbt temps also point to this. My dr said wait another 2-3 mins before they do anything but at 42, that worries me. I just want to ttc my rainbow baby. Anyone else had similar problem after mc? Thanks, Jo

StepAwayFromGoogle · 28/06/2017 09:12

Jo, I think it can take a while for your body to get back to normal after a miscarriage. I'm pretty sure I didn't ovulate immediately after my three miscarriages and I've never had a period without clots since (apologies if that is TMI). I'd go back to the doctors though - they should be able to refer you for tests to check your hormones are doing what they should be x

Jo42ttc · 28/06/2017 19:12

Thank you. I've booked another appointment to see my doctor next Tuesday.

Jo42ttc · 28/06/2017 19:13

And sorry for your losses too 😔

Alibaba2 · 28/06/2017 21:11

Jo, could you remind me of your story? Do you have kids? How long have you been trying?

Encouraging that your GP says to wait. What would their plan of action be in 2-3 months?

Jo42ttc · 28/06/2017 22:18

I'm 42, met my partner late in life last year. Neither of us have kids and this would've been our first. Conceived pretty quickly, 2nd cycle trying, but had missed mc march. Thought we were at 12 weeks but heart stopped at 8w4d. Doctor didn't really say what would happen in 2-3 months, just said keep diary of bleeding, which I am anyway. But I'm going back next Tuesday to get better info.

StepAwayFromGoogle · 28/06/2017 23:10

Jo, sorry you've had to go through that. Miscarriage is devastating.

Has the doctor suggested/are you taking any supplements? If not, I'd recommend ubiquinol. It's been shown to improve egg quality, particularly in older Mums. Takes about 3 months to work so that would fit with the 2-3 month break your doctor suggested... x

Jo42ttc · 28/06/2017 23:53

I haven't been offered any supplements yet and don't know anything about them. Is ubiquinol something that needs to be prescribed by a doctor or can it be bought over the counter. I will ask about stuff like that when I see the doctor on Tuesday. Thank you for giving me advice as I wouldn't know what to be asking otherwise! I just want my body to start working properly again so I can get my rainbow baby 😢

Alibaba2 · 29/06/2017 07:18

Jo, it sounds like you're still pretty fertile to have conceived so quickly. And it's very early days after the mc. I think your GP is right to give it a few months.

I'm so sorry you've had to go through this. But I hope that this story has a happy ending for you.

I buy ubiquinol from www.woodshealth.com as they sometimes have a 3-for-2 offer on and it's not cheap.

GPs only recommend folic acid as nothing else is scientifically proven.

reptilemumma · 02/07/2017 19:47
