Hi Hoping - different clinics have different 'official test dates' (OTD). My clinic always gave me 15dpo as my test date as that is the day after my AF was due.

I've never had a positive pregnancy test before 12dpo (in the evening) and you can drive yourself insane with early testing so take care of yourself and take test results with a pinch of salt until at least the day before your AF is due.

If you have been using the period tracker app for a few months and it has always been right then you should be fine to count the 10th as the first day of missed period so a test on the 10th is likely to be conclusive.

Apologies to everyone. I'm having trouble keeping up with the thread! I'll be back properly soon.

Karendvm · 07/02/2017 23:26

caution I think that by day 14/15 you should get a positive. There are lots of stories of women not getting a positive until even day 18, but I think that they are likely off on their ovulation dates, which us gals doing iui can be fairly certain about. My last bfp I had the faintest of lines on day 13. It all depends on when you implant. After you implant it takes 3-4 days for your hcg to give you that faint line. I still have hope for you.

HopingForALittleOne · 07/02/2017 23:39

Thanks karen and shoes I'll go to sleep a bit easier with your reassurance .

Hope littleshoes is well shoes xxx

hoping I have been ready to reduce travelling for at least 2 if the 6 years I have had this job!!!! There is nothing glamourous about being a road warriorr... as I am on restricted travel right now due to MC risk I have even - now please do not faint from shock - been considering signing up for a weekly yoga class!!!!!
Anyway do not hold your breath - my boss wants to talk to me before I apply...
My clinic's OTD is 16dpo - like shoes I have never had a BFP before 12dpo.
But only with a FRER.

I had stabbing pains in my fanjo yesterday evening... and either spotting or crinone gel clumping this morning... sorry TMI!!! Enjoy your breakfast Grin

Ah was just doing what I do best-OCDing over whether I sent the payment for Harry to the right account as you do..... and I realised I missed a crucial bit that says-write ur surname and ur reference number in the payment reference so we can identify who sent it 😳 I did put my surname but then just Donor!
I have now sent some silly screen shot so they can try and track down which is mine apologising for being such a fool 😱😖😣

Hope the symptoms are normal kwick keeping everything crossed for u!
Yikes hope the chat goes ok too with ur boss 😬

Yeh I read somewhere about my clinic recommending 14-16 days after to test which I would know by then as AF is usually only 12/13 days after surge

kwick · 08/02/2017 08:12

I am sure they will be able to track the payment pickle
If you take progesterone it can delay AF - I did not know this on my first cycle and despite BFNs all the way had convinced myself I was preggers.

Hi all!

Hoping I know exactly what you mean re work and decisions. I have always taken on more and more, have always been the first one to hop on a plane and now Im the last person to put my hand up. Im trying to get my colleagues used to me choosing not to do these things so its not a huge shock when I CAN'T do them.

I plan to do a similar thing to Kwick and get a fit note re no flying when I finally do get my BFP.

It is a mind shift thats for sure, and its been difficult for my boss to get his head around why I won't fly to Brazil or Mexico (Zika) or fly during treatment (because of scans etc).

And I would without doubt get signed off if they tried to force my hand, as the stress of the IVF plus work demands would make a good case for needing a break!

At the end of the day its good we are thinking like this, our Mamma brains are engaged!!

Pez82 · 08/02/2017 08:44

Hoping, don't lose hope. I'm only on my second try and already finding it easier (actually everything has been so much easier this month, I even went back to work after the IUI and forgot about it for a couple of hours!). I think it's because we tend to convince ourselves it's going to work 1st time so we put a lot of added pressure on ourselves. This said, 1 in 5 women get it first go and it could still be you!!! Like kwick, because I was on the progesterone last month and I was convinced it had worked as I was feeling things I'd never felt before. I started googling frenetically what was the latest day for implantation (which can be as late as day 12) and then HCG only starts being produced after that and doubles every 2 or 3 days. I read some women have natural levels of 5 so they can get a BFP only a couple of days later whereas others only have a base level of 1 (like me) so it would take much longer for any HPT to pick this up - even past AF due date.

Kwick, I'm sure all is fine, everything has to stretch into place so I don't expect this could happen without any discomfort. This said, I would be exactly the same if in your position! You'll feel better after the scan. Talking of TMI can I say that this month I've had the most EWCM I've ever noticed! It was crazy, maybe more follicles mean more CM?
I've established I definitely ovulate shortly after the surge. I started surging on Thursday late afternoon, peaked on Friday morning and last night opks were getting negative again. So I think the timing of IUI was right for me this month Grin PMA all the way!!
Just a shame I can't temp properly (I woke up at 4am again and then couldn't get back to sleep...)

Pez82 · 08/02/2017 08:53

And about the work situation, I'm the same!!
I read many articles where they said the typical choice mum is quite career driven, which explains why we reach our mid 30s with a decent job but realise the clock is ticking! I'm personally so independent it is hard to commit into any serious relationship (and let's face it, living with a man is hard work Grin)
I managed to move to a new role last summer just when I started making plans to do it solo and now I'm quite comfortable with this new job as it is very flexible and I'm not thinking about any future promotions (which would require long hours of work). I'll have to keep travelling but they're mostly day trips so I'll manage with baby sitters etc.

StorkAhoy · 08/02/2017 09:30

Pez you re so right. Once I moved into my bigger house last year it was like a thunderbolt: right house, right job, what the bleep am I waiting for?!?!?!?!

MiriAmmerman · 08/02/2017 11:07

Cherry our clinic charges to store sperm if you aren't going to use it immediately (i.e. if you put it away for a sibling or something), and it costs £360 for 12 months. On that basis I would guess that you've been quoted the annual price (definitely check because £300 per month is extortionate).
Pez I know you didn't need it this time but for future reference the Ovitrelle trigger shot is cheap - it's only £15 ( or somewhere around that). The follicle stimulating jabs are expensive (more like £150 for a cycle's worth), but the trigger is the cheapest thing on the menu Grin
DP and I gave up keeping a running total of our costs once we passed the £10,000 mark. If anyone asks us how much we've spent the only answer is "a fucking fortune." Whoever said you can't buy happiness was lying through their teeth.

Pez82 · 08/02/2017 11:46

Ah ah Miri, seeing how the rest of the price list is like I was expecting the trigger shot to cost in the region of £200! Anything below £100 is a bargain these days Confused

HopingForALittleOne · 08/02/2017 13:40

Ok I know some of you may tell me off but I was working from home today and caved and tested again. I thought possibly I saw a line so then tried on every different test I had. I can only describe it like some cloud came over me. The digital cb said not pregnant. The Frer has a slight faint line. The sainsburys and cb had even more faint lines and the boots one didn't show anything.
I know I'm silly for testing early again but now I'm trying to still do work siting here excited with no one to tell..
Also a fear has set in that I've tested too early and could turn into chemical pregnancy.

Thanks pez and kwick. I want to wait before until darker line and I'm more confident it's real before I tell my mum so it's good to be able to tell you guys. Gosh how on earth do I carry on working now!

StorkAhoy · 08/02/2017 14:22

pickle162 · 08/02/2017 14:44

Hell yeh I see a faint line on the frer!!!! Will catch up with everything else later but wahooo!!!
Think you may need some more tests though 😂

Pez82 · 08/02/2017 14:59

I don't think I could do any work in your situation hoping!!! Don't google too much though 😂

CautionHormone · 08/02/2017 15:02

hoping I see a faint like on the FRER and the CB one!!!!

HopingForALittleOne · 08/02/2017 15:41

Good glad I'm not going crazy. I am not going to believe its real though until I get a line a few days on the run. I can't even say it out loud yet that I might be..you know ..

INeedNewShoes · 08/02/2017 16:09

That FRER is a fairly clear positive in my view Grin and actually I can see lines on all of them, just very very faint.

Now wait until tomorrow (I grimaced at the thought of the cost of those 4 tests - all in one day! Naughty Hoping Wink) and do another FRER. All being well you should get a lovely strong pink line tomorrow after that one today.

HopingForALittleOne · 08/02/2017 16:30

Thanks shoes 😊

I thought we were a thread that didn't count costs hehe BlushWink

Pez82 · 08/02/2017 16:33

Are you feeling any symptoms now that you've seen the lines hoping? Wink
