I can hardly believe it, but I had a faint line on a test this morning and again this evening! Should be cd1, hopefully not for a long time now. First sniff of a bfp that I've seen since DS. Early, early days but still a tiny little glimmer of hope!

Pies that is fabulous news, congratulations!!! So pleased for you. Here's to a happy and healthy 9 months.

I have been reading the thread but not posted as I am going through a tough time at the moment. I've had a major relapse with my ME/Fibromyalgia and been put on antidepressants. The tablets have started to help but I'm living on my nerves having frequent panic attacks so trying to conceive unfortunately has to be put on the back burner for a bit. My DH, DP and two close friends have been amazing and helping me with my three year old. He starts nursery school next Friday so I am praying that I am able to take him as every time I go to front door I'm having panic attacks. Take care all. Xxxxx

I don't quite believe it yet - convinced myself that this morning's line was fainter, etc. I've just bought a CB digi and retested in the work loos and Pregnant 1-2! So at least today I will believe that I am pregnant. I've got to dust off my post-MC pregnancy mantra: today I am pregnant, today ...

So I bought a couple of frers as I'm 12 dpo which is when af usually turns up yet af hasn't turned up and it doesn't feel like she's about to anytime soon. Now don't get excited because this isn't a story of bfp more of a warning re the efficacy of frers.

There looked like there was the finest hair width shadow of a line showing in addition to the control line. Heart leaps into my throat. You can't get a false positive say I, but there's something not quite right. So I take it apart and hold it to the light. There is a second line visible but it's not a positive test line, nor is it the elusive evap- it's a bright white line where the positive test line would appear if there is enough hormone in your pee to cause a chemical reaction. In the window this line casts the finest of shadows that appears in the right place for a positive test but very faint, barely visible.

I've read lately of so many women thinking they've had a chemical when they see a second faint line on frer and then their period came and now I'm wondering if it's just that hawk eyed women are seeing the position of the chemical test strip. It is so misleading and it's quite disheartening. It could cause a lot less heartache if this strip was totally invisible. I keep looking at this faint line wishing it would be something more than it is. Sadly it's nothing :(

Bloop that's just awful, you completely get your hopes up when you see anything in that test window. I don't often use frer, I used to love the superdrug tests when I was ttc ds however they are much more expensive now. It used to be you could get 4 for £8 and they were super sensitive. Anyway, I hope there's still a chance for you this cycle.

I'm 9dpo today, AF should be due on Sunday.

May I join in. Been ttc with my new hubby for 5 years now, im now 46. We both have kids from previous marriages. Had several mcs over the years but never getting further along. Gave up seriously trying about 18 mths ago after i got to 6 weeks.... havent really had a sniff of a bfp since. Got home yesterday after our hols and felt like testing. Various little symptoms. I have a line. On a one step which i know are notorious. There when it was wet after a few mins and there 30 mins later sti there next day. I havent tested again. What is odd is my temps are low. Very low. They have been very low over 6 mths. Barely touching 36°c when i was last pregs they were 37/38.

Welcome Debbie, and congrats! Sorry for your previous losses. I've had 3 mc's this year. Very disheartening.

Bloop, I gave up on FRERs. The lines are so piddly these days, and for what you pay for them, I don't think they're any better than the cheapie ones. I was using Wilkos own 25mlU, £1 for a pack of 2. Just as good imo. I've also been caught out by that white strip that looks like it may be SOMETHING. You know the drill - stand in bright daylight, tipping the stick in different angles, squinting, taking pics with an app that inverts the pic, DH shaking his head, etc etc. With me, it did turn into a bfp a couple of days later but it was a chemical.

Welcome DebbieSB, I'm sorry for your losses. Five years is a long time ttc, did you have any tests etc? I hope this turns out to be a sticky bean for you.

Ahhh Amanda, I've been there. Never in front of dh though, he already thinks I'm bonkers with tests. I took loads when I was first pg with ds
