A place for all those trying for their first who didn't know their OPKs from their BBTs, their EWCM from their FRERs and everything in between before discovering Mumsnet!

If you're that glorious mix between excited about getting that elusive BFP and terrified - this is the place for you Smile

Skee - I use Period Tracker for the reason that I've done so for years to alert me to incoming AF - its probably not the best for TTC but you can record symptoms, temps etc. and its really easy to use.
TWW commencing here - feel like we've done really well as far as DTD is concerned and will try to keep it up EOD for the next week or so - although hubby definitely needs a bit of rest!
My pals wedding is 2 weeks tomorrow so at least if AF shows I can console myself with a vat of Prosecco!

Eva30 · 02/09/2016 09:27

Haha pjs at it tasting like pond, I can see why some people would say that actually! I didn't think I'd like it (what, no milk or sweetener?) but it's not too bad at all.
flora you sound around the same point as me, when is AF due? Mines due 16th Sept.

That's my ov done I think, got a -OPK this morning. Apparently if you have more than one day +OPK then you are catching the LH surge on the way up and then the way back down and there's not much point carrying on doing OPKs after you get your first positive (read this somewhere) - which was news to me. But how will I satisfy my need to POASGrinWink

DH is worn out, reeeeeally didn't want to DTD last night. He said "there's nothing left in there" lol, but forced ourselves to. I'm looking forward to getting in bed tonight and fully relaxing!

FF hasn't detected ov yet but it will do if there's another temp increase tomorrow (it only put it in if there's 3 rises in a row). I think it was on cd15. Let the tww commence...

It is amazing how anyone manages to dtd in todays day and age. Lives our so busy work takes us all over the place. I am happy though that my OH is away with work next week which will be my withdrawal bleed. I am hoping though that my libido will increase being off the pill.

Eva bless your DH

fx for you all Dixie, Mojitos and Flora

So sorry PJs that af arrived.

Is it any green tea that is a benefit or can it be for example pineapple and green tea? This might be a bit of a novice question but what is the green tea helpful for?

Skee · 02/09/2016 09:42

Thanks Flora, I've been using My Calendar and read somewhere that it wasn't the best for ttc, so thought I'd see what others recommend?

To be honest, I reckon I've learned so much more in the week I've been on mumsnet than any app could tell me Grin

florafoxtrot · 02/09/2016 10:17

AF is due around the 15th so we shall see whether she shows up or not!

Thinking an App will be useful if you were to start temping. I'm not quite at that stage yet...

19Laura88 · 02/09/2016 12:29

AF has arrived for me on day 32 roll on more trying next week 😀

Difficultyear2015 · 02/09/2016 12:45

Had my 3rd acupuncture treatment last night.

This time they tried electro acupuncture.

I felt very positive after it so even if it's all smoke and mirrors at least I feel happier and less full of anxiety

Eva30 · 02/09/2016 12:56

Great to hear difficult
basset I'm not sure tbh, I just have decaf green tea and also raspberry leaf tea occasionally. Green tea is supposed to help with EWCM and raspberry helps strengthen the uterus lining apparently (but don't have after ov)
ugh sorry for AF laura. But line in the sand and all that

MsHopey · 02/09/2016 15:00

Has anyone had any symptoms? Feel like I'm pregnant, really poorly, or insane?

CinnamonTwist · 02/09/2016 15:15

bassetmum my libido massively improved once off the pill, particularly in my FW, which was helpful!

MsHopey I had faint cramps in the run up to when AF should have been, which I wouldn't usually have had, they seemed worse at night but I think that was due to no distractions! I also had really vivid dreams, which I never get (not nice ones eitherSad)
First time round I also had really painful boobs! This time I was sure I was pregnant, as I had the cramping and vivid dreams but thought we had avoided FW so was massively confused, so I think you can definitely feel pregnant. But also I think that once you start TTC you notice lots of things you never would have done before, so it's easy to trick yourself. Fx they are genuine for you - how many dpo are you?

Skee · 02/09/2016 15:56

Pretty sure I'm not pregnant this time round, but I've had some really vivid dreams - woke DH up last night by screaming, apparently Blush

Lol!

MsHopey · 02/09/2016 16:19

9dpo. I don't know if any symptoms would even show yet or if it's all in my head. My husbands being very kind and acting like I'm not off my head, but I'm not getting the most obvious symptoms, o there than my boobs being more in the way that usual when I was sleeping last night they're exactly the same. Which seems to be the most reported symptom, so lack of boob pain is making me doubt everything else, and the fact that I'm not lucky enough for things to happen as soon as I start trying.

Monkeyandthebear · 02/09/2016 17:33

Seems like there is a lot going on in here. I have been peeing on clearblue Opks all week and only got a flashing smiley face so not sure what is going on. I had a long cycle last month because of jet lag and so no idea if we are timing dtd right or not. I had a total meltdown with DH earlier in the week so missed a couple of days of dtd but going to keep working on it! Having all sorts of weird symptoms. Had right side pain on Wednesday and I have been feeling really crampy and like I normally feel on day 2 of AF. I have bad enough cramping during AF I don't need any extra. It is all scrambling my brain just now! Confused

MsHopey · 03/09/2016 10:32

I seem to have developed a stress/nervous related twitch in my thumb and eyelid, not a good look, it feels really weird and is rather annoying. Can't think what I'm stressed or nervous about unless it's baby related, in which case I need to take a deep breath and calm down. I'm already letting it all take over my life :(

MoonlightMojitos · 03/09/2016 11:26

Af has arrived in full force overnight... no warning signs at all or cramps or anything which I usually get really bad and means I only had a 23 day cycle so now I'm utterly confused. Cycles before mc were around 29 days with ov on cd15/14 day lp. Last cycle was 26 days but as it was first cycle after mc I presumed it was an odd one. But now it means this cycle I either must have ovd around cd8 in which case I had no hope of catching it, or I didn't ov at all, or my lp has gone from 15 days to like 10? I did think I ovd on cd13 as had ewcm but that seems crazy for it to have got so much shorter. I just feel completely bewildered by it all now.

Eva30 · 03/09/2016 12:08

monkey what cd are you on?
mojito sorry for AF Flowers that's really confusing, perhaps opks and temping next month will give you definite date of ov?

bassetmum · 03/09/2016 12:53

So sorry Mojito. Its weird what our bodies do. Maybe it would be worth opk's or temping.

Ive got the most stonking hormonal headache today waiting for my last withdrawal bleed.

Monkeyandthebear · 03/09/2016 14:05

Eva I am on CD19 but not really sure when I ov'd. Had high opk readings from day 11. Still got this right side feeling and general heaviness feeling. I feel a little bit like I am losing the plot!

mojito rubbish about AF. I have been working to dates and Ovia fw and opks and decided this week that as I had no clue we were better just to dtd repeatedly! Covering all bases this cycle might be a good option for you

MoonlightMojitos · 03/09/2016 16:33

eva yes I planned on doing opks but the ones I was being sent by another mnetter havnt come yet so I've just ordered some from amazon but it says they're not due to arrive until next Friday! That'll be cd 7 already! And if I do ov cd8 I might miss it! Just hope they come early :(.

It's just so frustrating that I knew exactly was going on before mc and now it's all gone so crazy. I never thought it could have an impact like this month's after.

I did try temping but I'm rubbish at remembering and I'm a really light sleeper so I wake up 4 or 5 times every night and it's difficult to get those unbroken hours of sleep before taking it.

basset oh I don't miss those at all! Used to get migraines every time I had a withdrawal bleed on the pill but I havnt had a single one since coming off so hopefully they stop for you too!

monkey I thought we did this cycle! Dtd every other day from cd10 but obviously too late knowing cycle length now. I bled for 6 days so if I ov that early it's going to very difficult to start much earlier!

Eva30 · 04/09/2016 09:10

mrsHopey how are you doing? Are you 11dpo now? When are you testing? Fx for you
monkey have you had your static smiley yet? I know they say to stop testing after 9 days but last cycle pjs persevered and got the static after 11 days of flashing I think it was.
mojito when I order them off amazon they tend to come before the expected date so hopefully they will come early this week for you
skee how many dpo are you?

Anyone testing soon?

RedBlu · 04/09/2016 09:32

Can I join?

Age - 29
TTC - #1
Trying since June
CD - 28

Came off Cezerette around April time after being on it around ten years. My cycles are still all other the place, my last was 56 days! Currently on CD 28 and I am very achy, boobs hurt, etc so I might be "going back to normal" in terms of cycles.

Am finding the world of conception to be rather confusing!

florafoxtrot · 04/09/2016 09:47

Welcome redblu! The world of conception is a minefield of emotions! This place helps though!
I dont think we'll have caught this month - not sure why but just not feeling positive, hubby is having a really stressful time and is basically working every hour there is! We've dtd plenty of times but still just not convinced. Trying to stay positive and thinking that at least it means I can drink at my friends wedding in two weeks but it's not really working this morning! Need to keep myself distracted I think!

Monkeyandthebear · 04/09/2016 11:14

Eva I didn't test today, would be day 9. My cycle is normally 29/30 days so think I should have ov'd. I feel like it was all making me go a little crazy. During the crazy melt down with DH, we discussed just dtd more often and are sticking to every day or every other at the moment. I was at the stage of if Ovia didn't tell me it was fw then what was the point in dtd. Don't think that helped.

Still got cramping type feeling today, but I seem to get different symptoms every 2ww so not reading too much into it.

Welcome to all the new comers!

MoonlightMojitos · 04/09/2016 13:05

Right I'm all stocked up on epo and pregnacare. Super healthy homemade granola is on. I'm really going to go for it this cycle, start dtd as soon as af has left!

eva thanks, I really hope they do!

bassetmum · 04/09/2016 15:05

Fx for you mojito. I bet a positive mental attitude is a fantastic addition to ttc. I found out today that my brother in laws sister caught first month (baby is due any day) apparently it completely took them by surprise as they were expecting it to take a while. Conception is a weird beast.
