A place for all those trying for their first who didn't know their OPKs from their BBTs, their EWCM from their FRERs and everything in between before discovering Mumsnet!

If you're that glorious mix between excited about getting that elusive BFP and terrified - this is the place for you Smile

I know! I had to copy and paste all the ops posts for my dh as he refused to read it all but wanted to know.

bairnsangs · 07/10/2016 09:07

Sorry, I should really introduce myself - was having a read on here and got carried away with the parking thread and posted without thinking. I know this is a really busy thread so I might just pop in and out while I'm also on the October bus, if that's ok?

Stats:
bairns 28
TTC#1 (obvs)
Cycle #2
10 dpo

First month temping and using FF, I only started mid-cycle, but had been using OPKs and Ovia. Now using all the things! Confused

Eva30 · 07/10/2016 09:13

That parking thread hahaha - brilliant!

nmarie welcome, are you testing this weekend?

7dpo here, not much to report except headaches yesterday. Obviously googled them and convinced myself I must be pg as it's the hormones causing the headaches. Today I am being more rational and thinking I didn't drink enough water. Strangely though I don't have any Pmt symptoms yet either though, I'm usually bloated and have sore boobs by now.

pjs seahawk hopeful any news on the +opks? Are you in the dreaded tww yet?

Eva30 · 07/10/2016 09:14

Welcome bairns, ooo 10dpo, any symptoms? When are you testing?

Monkeyandthebear · 07/10/2016 09:43

Eva I love how every symptom of anything ends up being googled!

I might be in my fw or my 2ww on cd17. Based on Ovia I am just leading up to ov but I have had ewcm from last Saturday so thinking this cycle might be more like normal. No opks this month so just dtd instead. Really trying with every other day and doing OK with it right now. Today I have my random timed symptom of this cycle. Normally get sore boobs about 3-4 days before AF but they have been sore since yesterday. Feel like I am also a bit gassy (another AF symptom for me). I love how my body keeps my mind guessing.

I sent my CV out into the big wide world yesterday too. Got a new boss and not happy at work. Feel like I can't put my career on hold if TTC is going to take too long and I am not happy at work which isn't going to help TTC. Going to see what happens with the cv and explore my options.

Seahawk80 · 07/10/2016 15:14

Hi Eva - I did an cheapy opk this morning and nothing. So no idea, just going to DTD every other day! That's exciting about symptoms, fx for you.

monkey I'm in the same boat, hate work and am so fed up, but I feel a bit stuck as if I do have a baby I could come back 4 days a week and have a well paid part time job with an easy commute which is so hard to find in London. I've decided I'll stay until after my holiday in February and if I'm not pg by then I'll start looking. Makes TTC extra frustrating! Good luck with your search.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 07/10/2016 15:16

Hi bairns!

Just thought I'd check in after a couple of days. Cycle day 6 and AF just will not leave the building here...

Pyjamas81 · 07/10/2016 18:58

Have been pretty distracted over last couple of days - hello to the newbies!!

Yep - I have had a quick static before, I'm on day 3 of flashing smiley face so far! Had some CM but so difficult to know what type! The amount (tmi) just isn't enough to tell!

Going to have to check out this thread you're all talking about!

Skee · 07/10/2016 19:13

Hello everyone, not been on here much lately - decided to chill out on the ttc for the moment. I've been completely distracted with work throughout September and after feeling disappointed with ttc, I thought I'd put my energy into finding a new job instead. So long story short, found perfect job, signed contract and getting ready to hand in notice on Monday.... Grin

Yep, you've guessed it, BFP this morning...ShockBlushSmile

Called prospective new boss, no more new job. At least it's for a good reason!

Silly Skee

Notyetthere · 07/10/2016 19:52

Skee typical! So it is true, when you decide to stop trying,it happens.

CongratulationsSmile

Skee · 07/10/2016 20:19

Thank you!

Well, I wouldn't call it a fool proof plan... more like Sod's law Blush

Eva30 · 07/10/2016 20:36

No way skee that's amazing news but sooo Sod's law in action right there! Huge congratulations!
Out of interest, so your prospective new boss withdrew the offer of employment? Can they do that?!

I'm with you monkey and seahawk in not overly happy in my job but I have a 3 month notice period and god knows what could happen in 3 months so I'm holding off and just persevering for now. I keep an eye on vacancies to see if the perfect job comes up but it hasn't yet.

lisa 6 days of AF oh wow Shock

miraflores81 · 07/10/2016 21:39

Congratulations skee! Great news!
How long have you been trying?
Amazing how often Sod's law seems to workSmile

bairnsangs · 07/10/2016 22:00

Hi guys! Well today I've had sore boobs, felt VERY tired (wanted to go to bed at 8.30 but ended up watching Vikings with OH), felt nauseated and off my food. Had a mad craving for brussell sprouts this afternoon! Whaddya think? Ovia says three days till I can test but there's a FRER calling me from the bathroom...

Congrats Skee Grin the power of Sod's law eh?!

Worth getting on with the BDing Pyjamas just in case?

Seahawk80 · 07/10/2016 22:02

Congrats Skee Grin . Perhaps Eva Monkey and I should follow your lead!

lisa AF is normally 5-7 days for me - is that not normal?

Skee · 07/10/2016 22:14

Thanks Eva - well, I sent my contract back yesterday and found out this morning. Legally, im not sure how that works, but I would never have signed the contract if I'd have known. I wouldn't have started the new job till January, so I'd be 3 months gone by then, provided it all works out.

We hadn't been trying for very long mira, this was cycle 2 Blush

Everyone around me has been drumming it home that it takes longer than you think, so this is a complete shock... I'm 33 and DH is 35, we were so new to the process that we hadn't considered temping or using opk's. And we completely stepped back from ttc once I had decided to change job. Or so we thought...

Well, I've got to laugh Wink

LisaSimpsonsbff · 07/10/2016 23:03

Seahawk I usually get three days of very heavy bleed, followed by a couple of days of it trailing off - this time I'm on day 6 and still going through a super tampon every couple of hours. I don't think it's at all abnormal, but it is irritating!

Skee · 07/10/2016 23:13

Thanks bairns! That all sounds promising... unfortunately my experience thus far is useless - I thought I'd be on the gin tonight - not a symptom in sight! Af was just awfy late...

Sigh time to get excited about soda and lime instead Smile

Pyjamas81 · 07/10/2016 23:25

Sounds promising bairn - try to hold out though! We're both too knackered after hellish week at work to dtd tonight - definitely tomorrow though!!

Congrats Skee! Funny how life takes its turns Smile

Skee · 08/10/2016 08:04

Thanks pj's!

Honestly, I should've seen this coming Grin

MouseLove · 08/10/2016 09:38

Bairns.... update???? Did you POAS?

Seahawk80 · 08/10/2016 10:25

glad to know it's not just me Lisa wish I had a 2-3 day AF, I think until you start TTC you don't really discuss it much and just assume that everyone is the same. One advantage of TTC is knowing your body better. I had implants for about 7 years and came off 3 years ago. AF used to take me by surprise every time. I'd be like why am I so moody and why can't I stop eating, then it would turn up and id be like oh that's why!

Having said that this month I have no idea what is going on after the random static face a week earlier than expected so going for DTD every other day and hoping for the best!

Good luck to everyone testing this weekend Star

MoonlightMojitos · 08/10/2016 10:49

Morning ladies! Hope everyone is ok.

Welcome bairns! Definately test at 11dpo with symptoms! What are you waiting for! Grin

eva when are you testing?

I feel like a lot of people on here are syncing lol seem to be a few in 2ww so hopefully we will get another batch of BFPs soon!

Good luck monkey and good job with lots of dtd and having a relaxed cycle.

Congrats skee!!! Come and join us on June due dates!

Sorry for your long af lisa hope it ends soon.

pj are you taking epo? Hope you get a static today!

Monkeyandthebear · 08/10/2016 13:40

Congrats Skee Maybe sending my cv out will bring me luck this cycle!

I am at work today and feeling lousy. Seem to be coming down with a cold (or some sort of allergies). My nose is like a dripping tap Hmm and my skin has broken out in red blotchy spots!

My boobs are still sore too. They feel bruised Sad. I think our chances of dtd tonight are low. More likely I am getting home from work and climbing into bed myself.

bassetmum · 08/10/2016 14:08

Congratulations again skee. You must be so happy.

Im trying to figure out to get away with dtd every other day without the oh getting a bit suspicious haha. I suppose I could just say to him it's the best way to give it the best chance haha
