A place for all those trying for their first who didn't know their OPKs from their BBTs, their EWCM from their FRERs and everything in between before discovering Mumsnet!

If you're that glorious mix between excited about getting that elusive BFP and terrified - this is the place for you Smile

Oh eva I'm sorry your trip to the doctor wasn't any good - she sounds like she needs some sensitivity training tbh! Mind you it really gets my back up when people who haven't struggled and got it the first month and not had any mcs go oh don't worry it's just your own stress that's stopping you. I feel like saying I will punch you in your face. Back away.

But you should still try and let it sink in that she wasn't worried so that is a good sign.

Ok I'm going to admit something which may be more shocking and insulting than all the tmi mucus comments, cervix explorations, dtd details and everything else we ladies take in our stride...

I hate bake off...

Monkeyandthebear · 05/10/2016 22:27

Eva, that is rubbish about docs. Hopefully her being so unbothered by 6 months will help you to have faith it will happen soon.

I have had that "Are you planning kids?" question twice this week. Once today in front of my new boss and both from people that I know but not on a personal level (one hairdresser one coworker at another site). I never know what to say to this! I want to scream the plan was to get pregnant in April and I am still not. If they have any ideas on what we can do differently to let me know. Any tips for dealing with it?

Blissfulignorance · 05/10/2016 22:28

I can settle with you not loving bake off but hate?!

As long as you don't love .... X factor.... I can forgive.

Notyetthere · 05/10/2016 22:59

Eva - Sorry about the baby bombing. At least they were honest about how long it took them. As for your Gp, they weren't as helpful when I started to mc and it was my SIL that told me call EPU instead who were very understanding.

I think I have found it! Warning, this is a tmi post. As recommended by Lisa to feel for my cervix while squatting, I tried it in the shower and I think I felt it. It isn't as far up as I had imagined. I think it was closed but then like Eva it weirded me out proding in their so it could have been doing all sorts and didn't feel about too much to find out.

Anyway, while rummaging (sorry can't think of a better word) in there I think I also got what looked like ewcm. It was stretchy as the pics on google but it was tinged with brown which I am assuming is small amounts of old blood left over from the miscarriage. Opk still returning negative.

MouseLove · 05/10/2016 23:01

Eva, I can bet you are super frustrated but she's kinda right, relax and your mind and body will be ready. Good luck Hun. X

Monkey I always answer each question as follows...

"Do you want babies?"
Yes of course. One day.

"Why don't you have any children?"
We're career focused at the moment

"When are you gonna have babies?"
As soon as we're ready. Maybe soon.

"Do you not like babies?"
Yes, we love them.

Short, sweet and no detail in my answer. They usually get I don't want to talk about it after I answer it quickly. It's all about the dash and dodge. And changing the focus is ok too. And if you're feeling very assertive you can tell people to mind their own f**king business. Wink

Notyetthere · 05/10/2016 23:03

Mouse- Those are brilliant answers. I will be using them.

Pyjamas81 · 05/10/2016 23:25

Busy day in here today! Sorry to hear about the baby bombs Sad

And Eva - sorry your gp was so rubbish! This is what worries me and makes me want to just go private from the start.

First dtd down - as I think the flashing smiley is suspiciously early (maybe I'm gearing up to ov twice again), we're going to dtd on Saturday. Unless I get a random static tomorrow then it's all systems go, just don't want to wear ourselves out too soon!

I watched celebs go dating tonight - I win on crap telly!

Just having. A quick catch up. Eva sorry your GP was rubbish. Is she the normal doctor that you see? Could you try seeing another? That's really awful to make you feel stupid for going. Flowers

Sorry for everyone about the baby bombs too. We need some good news to come along!

Seahawk80 · 05/10/2016 23:54

I mean on here. Obv baby bombs are good news once the shock wears off. Bring on some BFPs on here Grin

Hopefulbunny · 06/10/2016 06:32

I got a static smiley face this morning! [smile

Seahawk80 · 06/10/2016 08:37

I got a random static today. CD 13, cycles are normally 35 days average. I got the low circle 2 days ago and forgot (hungover) yesterday. Surely that can't be right?

Eva30 · 06/10/2016 11:01

Thanks so much for all your lovely comments. What a lovely support network this is.

I only moved house earlier this year so it was only my second visit to this new Doctors.

I've decided I'm going to test on Monday, I'll be 10dpo then. Ordered frer's on Amazon. I don't feel at all pg but might be a miracle... Anyone else testing this weekend?

Yay for static smileys hopeful and seahawk! seahawk maybe it would have been flashing circle yesterday? pjs didn't you go from low to static in 3 days too?

Seahawk80 · 06/10/2016 11:46

Thanks Eva, I'll jump on DH tonight, we have a work event (we work for same company different offices) so hopefully after a few cocktails we can head home to bed!

Hopefulbunny · 06/10/2016 13:10

Seahawk I am also on cd 13. Had 2 days of flashing face and then a static this morning!

Hope you are all doing well Smile

Seahawk80 · 06/10/2016 16:49

Ohhh interesting hopeful maybe the metformin tablets are actually having an effect on my cycles! Grin

Eva30 · 06/10/2016 18:30

Great news seahawk

This was on one of the other threads and it's definitely me, I'm currently between stages 4-5 haha!

nmarie · 06/10/2016 19:54

Hi hope you don't mind if you join! Just started TTC for the first time and it's all so new and exciting Grin I have had almost 1 month pill free now and AF is due Saturday. As unlikely as it is, there's a small part of me hoping I might get lucky first cycle. Only time will tell!

BusyNothings · 06/10/2016 20:24

Fingers crossed for those with static smileys! We need some bfps this month!

Welcome nmarie you never know a few people do get it first time.

I'm ruling this month out. We've only dtd once in 3 weeks because of me being ill and I'm on cd18 and not got a clue what's been going on as not tracked anything. Before it wasn't bothering me that i wasn't tracking. Like I couldn't bring myself to do it. But now I'm panicking that I haven't and oh god is this going to put me back. Grrr bloody hormones and confusion and broodiness!

BusyNothings · 06/10/2016 20:44

MouseLove · 06/10/2016 23:16

Omg busy. That thread is fantastic!!!!

bairnsangs · 06/10/2016 23:54

Oh my - that thread is amazing! I've sat in the kitchen for 20 minutes reading it - OH has gone to bed and put the lights off, I explained why I wasn't coming to bed and he was like Hmm

He doesn't realise it was worth feeling cold, sitting on an uncomfy stool and holding in a wee for Grin
