A place for all those trying for their first who didn't know their OPKs from their BBTs, their EWCM from their FRERs and everything in between before discovering Mumsnet!

If you're that glorious mix between excited about getting that elusive BFP and terrified - this is the place for you Smile

Really. Not ready. Bloody autocorrect.

Pyjamas81 · 28/09/2016 11:25

Thanks seahawk - just wish I knew either way!!!

I know basset - it's infuriating isn't it?! Can't wear a sanitary towel with swimming costume, tampons dont agree with me and don't want to put in mooncup as I want to know if/when it happens. And I know it's silly, but don't want to disturb anything up there if there is anything up there lol. This really has given me the mentals...

DH just saw me in swimming costume and said my boobs are looking bigger! Not helping DH!!!

That makes perfect sense pjs I am up and down to the toilet like a yoyo yesterday and today. At least its getting my step count up as my office is on the first floor and the toilets are on the ground.

Such a bloke response, although to be fair I feel like I have major double boob going on today but that isn't unusual for me before af so who knows.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 28/09/2016 11:45

Mouse Did you get any spotting? I remember years ago when I came off the pill (went back to using condoms and then have had IUD for past four years) being confused as to why I hadn't had a withdrawal bleed and then realising that the couple of days of brown discharge were, in fact, it and it was just much, much lighter than I was expecting.

MouseLove · 28/09/2016 12:00

Hey Lisa... nope not had anything at all. No spotting, nada.

I'm 13 days off the pill now. I'm sure it will all work itself out eventually. Just feel in limbo.

Pyjamas81 · 28/09/2016 13:18

It took me a couple of weeks to get withdrawal mouse - waiting for first true cycle was a real pain!

Still no sign of AF for me - get the odd 'pinch' down there, but nothing else. No bad mood, although being on holiday and nice flow of cocktails may help that!

Have googled the sh!t out of shimmery lines (of course) - predictably inconclusive! DH has gone to the beach to investigate windsurfing, I'm having the day by the pool - nice to get some real me time!

Yeah I feel so mixed up. On one hand I really want something to show up so I can get on with it. Get my cycle nailed down so I feel more in control. On the other hand I'd love for nothing to show up and me get a BFP instead. I know that's not gonna happen but a girl can wish. It feels like we've been TTC a lot longer than 2 weeks because in reality we've been talking about it for 6 years. Together for almost 12. It's a long time coming and something I want more than anything. I'm trying not to get carried away with my emotions but truth is, I have no idea what to feel and how to feel. DH, bless him, is sooo excited.

Notyetthere · 28/09/2016 16:07

Mouse - I had what I would assume was a withdrawal bleed from cerrazette at 10 days after coming off the pill. I then started to count after that as cycle 1. Do not worry too much. Pee on the cheap ICs to see where in your current cycle ovulation might happen. You might get your bfp even before AF arrives. I didn't temp during my last pregnancy as I worked with what my body told me and the ovulation sticks. I probably will temp this time as my SIL gave me a thermometer.

Notyetthere · 28/09/2016 16:10

Pyjamas - Oooh that clear line is very tantalising! Fx. Jealous you are somewhere lovely and warm. DH and I are thinking of where to go for our anniversary and very tempting to go somewhere nice and warm.

Notyetthere · 28/09/2016 16:15

Bassett - Fx for you! You will look back on all the knicker checking and have a little laugh to yourself. It doesn't stop there either. Even after my bfp, I still checked but for more worrying signs. Here is to forever check our knickersGrinGrin!

MouseLove · 28/09/2016 18:05

Thanks Not. That helps settle my nerves. I think I'm just going to disappear for a few weeks and let nature run its course. I'm winding myself up. X Sad

Pyjamas81 · 28/09/2016 18:45

Tantalising indeed not yet! But during my hundredth hour of overthinking and analysing my chart below I remembered the random positive OPK I got after I had already had my peak result. So, now I'm thinking my body revved up to ovulate the first time, failed, then revved up again. Which means we probably missed the window unless a swimmer or two were still hanging around! That would put me at around 12dpo today instead of 15dpo. Gah. Going for dinner, this is so tedious!

Hey all.
notyetthere I am so sorry to hear about your mc. Welcome back on the bus and we're here for supportFlowers
pyjamas how annoying your still waiting for an answer. On a positive note though your cycle has lengthened this time which is good isn't it?
basset fx for you, when will you test?
mojitos hope you're getting on ok?
mouse I had a withdrawal bleed as per usual when stopping the pill but the first couple of months are frustrating and the only thing you can really do is wait it out

I had a great hol. I'm on cd13 today and haven't temped or opk'd on holiday - was a nice break. Did an OPK today and negative. Ov is usually cd15-17 so I'll keep doing them over next few days.
I've book an app with GP as I'm getting concerned I have pcos. My aunt has it and a few pcos symptoms I've had recently have got me really worried (been trying since April). Hopefully she'll tell me I'm being ridiculous go away, or do a test to confirm I'm just going mad.

MouseLove · 28/09/2016 21:08

Eva, when you say "as per usual" was that in the first few days following stopping? I'm 13 days in now and nothing.

Eva30 · 28/09/2016 21:37

Yeah mouse, as I would in the usual 7 day break from the pill. You didn't have one of those? Have you done a test?

MouseLove · 28/09/2016 21:46

Nope and nope. I think it will come. Just a waiting game I think. Thank you though. It's actually putting me at ease that others are having normality after the pill.

MouseLove · 28/09/2016 22:05

Well tonight has been lovely. My mum just casually dropped into conversation she started menopause at 40-52 and has "a bit of a tilted womb... or something" and now I'm sat here thinking WFT. ConfusedConfusedConfused

Eva30 · 28/09/2016 23:18

Yeah I was on it for 10 years mouse, many of my friends were too and the most it has taken out of those to get 'back to normal' is 3-4 months. How old are you? Lol at the vague comment - may need some more info there?! And just because your mum did doesn't mean you will too mouse Smile

MouseLove · 28/09/2016 23:43

Eva I'm 32 (33 at the end of Nov) and yes I'm hoping it's not something I have to think about but it was just a lovely little drop into the convo that made me do this face ShockConfusedHmm

bassetmum · 29/09/2016 09:37

No sign of af over night instead I am having some sort of hot flush kind of day. As well as being really gassy, not a good thing when you are in the office. Toying with the idea of testing tomorrow or do I wait till the weekend if still no sign. Although I did go to loads of supermarkets last night and none of them stock frers. Are they only something you can get from a pharmacy or boots?

What a lovely thing for your mum to mention mouse! You are still plenty young enough to not even think about menopause. My mum mentioned years back she had a tilted womb but she has three kids no problem so its never crossed my mind since

Eva30 · 29/09/2016 14:44

Oh Christ. Got a very positive OPK just now, but haven't DTD since Monday. Will DTD later today and tomorrow but pretty sure I'm out for Oct, drank a lot on hols and ate lots of bad food and no EWCM at all, wasn't taking EPO on hol. This is early to get +OPK for me (cd14). Last month it was cd17 and the earliest it's been is cd15. Maybe it was being stress free the egg has come early!

First time TTC - thread 3
Pyjamas81 · 29/09/2016 15:20

Oh wow that's a super positive test Eva! Get dtd-ing!

Still no sign of AF for me and I didn't test this morning - temp took another dip (although still above cover line), so if the theory I came up with yesterday is right, AF will be arriving today/tomorrow. Making it a more normal 28/29 day cycle which would be at least one positive!

OP posts:
Blissfulignorance · 29/09/2016 16:33

I'm still suffering with AF. Which got me thinking, how do you all cope with the pain and cramps if you get any? I have always suffered and use a combo of prescription pain relief, hot water bottles and chocolate.

Hopefully won't have to suffer much longer though.

Looks good Eva fx!

When will you test pj?

Mol5 · 29/09/2016 16:34

Hi ladies, can I join? :)

New official member to mumsnet but have been forum stalking for months!

TTC 1
Age 22
Cycle 6
CD 18

The last couple of months I have started using OPKs but I am yet to have a positive at all(?..)

Has anyone else had constant negative OPKs? I'm starting to get a little bit nervous now.. I had wrongly assumed I would fall almost instantly!

All sorts of family history etc down the line so we would like to start our family as soon as possible.

Thanks for any advice! :)

Pyjamas81 · 29/09/2016 16:45

I'll test again tomorrow blissful if AF doesn't arrive. According to FF I'm 16dpo but I'm now suspecting it got it wrong! As for coping with AF - codeine, hot water bottle and working from home if possible works for me!

Welcome Mol Smile - what kind of opk tests are you using? I think it's quite easy to miss the surge with the ic ones, the digital ones are good. Being a POAS addict, I use both hahaha. It has helped though as on occasion I POAS with the digi in the morning and get negative, then POAS with the IC in the afternoon and get a positive which is then confirmed by the the digi!
