A place for all those trying for their first who didn't know their OPKs from their BBTs, their EWCM from their FRERs and everything in between before discovering Mumsnet!

If you're that glorious mix between excited about getting that elusive BFP and terrified - this is the place for you Smile

Afternoon everyone. Still no AF for me. Getting a bit fed up just waiting for this first confirmation that the pill hasn't completely messed up my body. Feeling fab otherwise. DH mentioned that he would love it if we could be preggers before xmas.... no pressure then :-/

Seahawk80 · 24/09/2016 17:51

Sorry Mouse that happened to me first cycle TTC - so annoying. Hopefully AF turns up soon for you. I've just started Agnus castus to hopefully regulate cycles - might be worth a go.

bassetmum · 24/09/2016 18:08

How many days are you on Mouse? Wow thats a statement and a half from the DH. My oh keeps making reference to a baby, more specifically a boy. Such a bloke response!

I'm definitely sat in limbo with whether I am just having PMS symptoms or whether its early pg symptoms. I am absolutely exhausted today, got an annoying headache, keep getting cramps on and off (not painful ones though), and strangely rib pain.

I started girl on the train the other day but fell asleep reading it (like i said exhausted) but the bits I did read were really good.

MoonlightMojitos · 24/09/2016 18:57

seahawk sorry af got you but good you're feeling positive about the cycle length :) that's good. Also thanks for recommendations, I'll check them out!

Sorry you're still waiting mouse

I don't think men realise the odds of getting pregnant! They think it'll just happen instantly when you start trying!

In other news... I caved today at only 9dpo (I'm a complete crazy woman, I know). But I convinced myself there was a squinter. So I've just driven round every shop in my town trying to find a frer and no where sells them! So... I've come home with a clearblue as that's the best I could get and am about to poas again. BRB in 5!

MoonlightMojitos · 24/09/2016 19:12

Ok... the cheapy looks slightly darker than this morning and I thought the cb was positive but it looks more grey than blue which I think happens with evaporation lines? But it was only after 3 minutes?! So I have no idea. I'm going to wait a few more days and retest mon or Tues with FMU.

bassetmum · 24/09/2016 19:17

Looks promising to me Mojitos Smile

Surely it wouldnt be evap at only 3 mins? What is the time span for the cb tests?

Seahawk80 · 24/09/2016 19:19

Ohhhhh Mojitos I think it looks good! I've only ever had a totally blank test for a bfn. Fingers crossed! xx

MoonlightMojitos · 24/09/2016 19:46

Thanks guys Confused nice to know I'm not going mad!!! basset no it said to read after 3 mins which I did but I did think it would me more blue... looks like I am upduffed though?! It's such early days I don't want to get my hopes up yet (the cons of testing so early) but I just hope this one sticks....

bassetmum · 24/09/2016 19:52

Sending lots of positive vibes and baby dust that this one is a sticky one. I definitely wouldn't be worried it be evap being within the allotted time. Congratulations

MouseLove · 24/09/2016 20:21

Thanks everyone. I'm only 10 days off my pill so not long at all. The problem is a mental one, my nurse told me I'd have a withdrawal bleed straight away. So when it didn't come I'm now wondering why. I know it's early days.

DH is a sweetheart really, I think he just doesn't understand the process could take a long time for us. We're both in the obese category (although DH is as wide as a house and very fit and I am tall and have lost over 2 stone this year). His comment was "Wouldn't it be awesome to tell our family we're pregnant on Christmas Day" and I suppose a little place in my heart ached for it. We've wanted this for a very long time, on and off for 6 years so I know he's running away with the thought of it. I know he wants to be a daddy just as much as I'd love to be a mummy.

MoonlightMojitos · 24/09/2016 20:25

What pill were you on mouse? A pop one or one where you have breaks and bleed? Christmas is a few chances away yet so don't get too disheartened, it could happen!

MouseLove · 24/09/2016 21:27

I was on mycrogynon for 11 years mojito, Which let me have breaks and my AF came pretty much on time to the hour every single month. Then last September I was told I needed to switch to the mini pill. So I've been on Cerelle for the last year. No AF and no breaks.

I started my health kick in February and have lost just over 2 stone (hit that in June) with a lbs or so here and there coming off every week since June.

We got back from Florida a few weeks ago and that was the main reason to delay trying.

I actually stopped taking my mycrogynon last may for a few weeks as we were going to start trying but a spanner got thrown into the works which meant we had to delay again and so I started taking them again. So it's been start stop for various reasons for the last 6 years. It's almost like I'm waiting for the spanner again. Feels surreal it might be finally our time.

keepingfaithxx · 24/09/2016 22:03

Moonlight if I took those tests and they looked like that I'd be excited!!

MoonlightMojitos · 24/09/2016 22:06

mouse I do wonder if the pop type pills cause more of a delay for people with af coming than the other type? I'm not sure if anyone else here has their experience? I was on one where I had breakthrough bleeds so mine did arrive as expected 3 days after stopping like it usually would when I finished a pack. Hopefully someone else might be able to help :). Well done on the weight loss! 2 stone is really good and you've got a healthier start to ttc now!

MouseLove · 24/09/2016 22:32

Mojitos yeah I'm wondering that too. That bloody nurse just threw me off with her comment. I think I might have to do some more research to see when I should start climbing the walls hahaha.

I'm thinking about getting some ovulation sticks for next cycle but on the other hand I'm not sure I should so early in my TTC journey. Then I see people POAS the first cycle so I'm torn!!

Piehunter · 24/09/2016 22:59

mouse I had nothing for 28 days and then AF arrived, no withdrawal bleed, and plenty of people wait a couple of months (sometimes more) for anything at all after a POP pill..

mojitos wrote on other thread, but congratulations! Hoping this one's a sticky one!

Cycle 3, cd4, off on holiday over fw on the 4th, hoping plenty of relaxation and no before dawn starts for DH will help with frequency!

bassetmum · 25/09/2016 06:44

Well I took a test this morning, bad me for not having the patience and it was a bfn. Not that upset though as this cycle is a big unknown

LisaSimpsonsbff · 25/09/2016 08:55

Great news mojito - fx for you! Sorry about BFN Bassett - it is still quite early to test though, isn't it?

Hello mouse and faith!

I'm 95% certain I ovulated last week. Although I'm a bit sad that that means we didn't DTD at the right time and so we're out for this cycle, I'm pleased that it seems in getting a cycle back at all as I'm only a month off the IUD. If I'm right it'll be a long cycle though (as technically I'm cd 27 today), so I hope they settle to something a bit shorter!

Pyjamas81 · 25/09/2016 09:55

Arrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh Mojitos congratulations!! Checked in quickly to catch up and see this lovely news SmileSmileSmile

Welcome Faith!

Bassett, sorry for bfn, hopefully just too early. Don't blame you for caving though, it's so hard!

Eva30 · 25/09/2016 13:03

Sorry, on hols & will catch up properly when back but just had to say... Congratulations mojitos!!! That's amazing news, wishing you a very happy & healthy pg!

MoonlightMojitos · 25/09/2016 18:51

Thanks pj and eva! Hope you're both enjoying your hols!

mouse it depends on you and if you think opks would stress you out or not but I'd recommend them for a cycle or 2 so you can hopefully spot what's going on in there, just depends if you want to already or wait a few cycles first.

MouseLove · 25/09/2016 19:54

Moonlight I think I'm going to try and wait. As much as I'm eager I think falling into that whole testing trap might be a bit too soon. I think once I've had this first period after stopping my pill I might feel a bit more ready. I don't want to become stressed and obsessed about it which I think would be easy for me to do. I know that's not going to help. In the meantime I'm just on the lookout for AF and trying to be chill. (Failing miserably at the mo lol) and trying not to read too many comments from ladies who fell pregnant straight after stopping the pill. ConfusedGrinHalo
