A place for all those trying for their first who didn't know their OPKs from their BBTs, their EWCM from their FRERs and everything in between before discovering Mumsnet!

If you're that glorious mix between excited about getting that elusive BFP and terrified - this is the place for you Smile

Enjoy your Holiday Eva WineWine

MoonlightMojitos · 22/09/2016 13:03

pjs trying not to get your hopes us but these temps sounds very promising!!! Exciting!

eva I'm saying I'm holding out testing til next Thursday which will be 14dpo but I expect I'll cave before then! Have 5 cheapies plus a clearblue I'll save so might cave Monday/Tuesday depending on how I feel. Going to see what temps are looking like and how I'm feeling beginning of the week! Enjoy your holiday! Jealous!

MoonlightMojitos · 22/09/2016 13:08

lisa hope the ewcm is still around for you!

Sorry af got you monkey :(. It can be so stressful, definitely take some time out if you need it and just take some time to yourself.

Pyjamas81 · 22/09/2016 17:10

omG I am so immensely bloated and gassy! It's actually quite painful. Must not read into it must not read into it. But I literally look about 6 months pregnant already... Bet it's AF announcing next week's arrival.

OP posts:
MoonlightMojitos · 22/09/2016 18:18

Oh :( I hate being bloated, hope you feel better soon. I had a slight temp dip this morning but still very high so guessing I was just a bit colder? Here are my temps so far :) 7dpo

That's a teeny dip mojitos so still looking good to me!

OP posts:
MoonlightMojitos · 22/09/2016 18:42

I hope so! I know I'm going to be bad this month if bfn...

We've said we'll take a break until the new year if I'm not upduffed by next month so I really really hope it happens. And we will be able to tell people before Christmas so no stupid excuses for not drinking!

Pyjamas81 · 22/09/2016 18:54

Yeah I feel the same Mojitos - this is the first month where I've felt like we've had a real chance, so will be gutted if get bfn or AF arrives even though I know it's the most likely result. Luckily we'll be on holiday and bear some cocktails to take the edge off Wine

OP posts:
Pyjamas81 · 22/09/2016 18:57

Bear? Near!

MrsCW86 · 22/09/2016 18:59

Fx pjs, moonlight and basset for when you test, I'm feeling excited!

Enjoy your holidays Eva - did you say it was for your 30th? If I haven't made that up then happy birthday too!

Sorry for AF monkey, sounds like job hunting could be just the ticket. I quit my (++stressful) job very recently and feel so much better.

Seahawk how frustrating! Any chance you just tested too early?

My news: I've bought some decaf coffee which is basically the most pointless drink ever invented.

Pyjamas81 · 22/09/2016 19:41

Decaf coffee - oh dear MrsC! Up there with virgin any cocktails in most pointless drink ever rankings!

OP posts:
Seahawk80 · 22/09/2016 21:58

Hi MrsCW I think prob not but I'll test again Sunday if AF hasn't arrived. The long unpredictable cycles are soooo frustrating! Perhaps a bfn won't be the worst result though as drank about 2 bottles of champagne on the flight home Blush

Hope the decaf coffee isn't too awful - I bought some by mistake recently - am saving it for when it's a necessity!

Good luck to everyone testing soon, hopefully we get some more good news x

bassetmum · 23/09/2016 09:13

Lets hope it was just an early test seahawk.

I must be the only one who doesn't mind decaf but caffeine doesn't affect me that much so that might be it.

I'm so tired but I don't sleep well really. Its scary seeing how restless at night I am as I now have a fitbit that records my sleep.

Still haven't decided whether to early test or not this weekend Confused

MrsCW86 · 23/09/2016 13:47

Haha pjs yes virgin cocktails... Although I'm going to a wedding tomorrow so I'm going to be sampling some of those!

Seahawk from what I've read I don't think it matters too much if you drink in tww as the placenta hasn't formed yet and bean is being fed from the yolk still. At least that's what I'm telling myself as DH and I had a date night a few days before I tested and I drank A LOT of wine Confused

Ah basset for me I can barely hold my own head up in the mornings and so the caffeine is a much needed feature of my breakfast! Have you decided whether or not to test?

MoonlightMojitos · 23/09/2016 17:24

Urgh... I'm on the wine tonight so no 2ww abstinence for me! Such a stressful day at work. As for tea/coffee though I switched to decaf years ago so that's no problem for me!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 23/09/2016 17:40

On my way home and the EWCM has gone. Of course it bloody has. Sorry about stressful day, Moonlight - wine fully justified! Bassett for what it's worth I think if you're ambivalent hold off - easier said than done though, I know!

WarwickAlice · 23/09/2016 18:20

Sorry to hear that, Lisa, and sorry to monkey that af arrived. Take care of yourself xxCakeChocolate

Pyjamas81 · 23/09/2016 18:59

Yay I'm now officially on holiday for a week! Having a couple of celebratory beers to mark the occasion Grin And maybe a few cocktails here and there between now and testing day on Tuesday ha ha.

Temp dip for me this am, but still above cover line which is fine as was out for drinks the night before which always makes my temp spike so today is much more normal.

Enjoy your wine mojitos!

Have you told people yet MrsC? Or will you have to pretend there's a bit of gin in those cocktails?

Stupid ewcm Lisa!

OP posts:
MoonlightMojitos · 24/09/2016 06:45

basset have you decided if you're going to test this morning?

lisa hope you managed to dtd last night!

Enjoy your holiday and drinks pjs!

MrsCW86 · 24/09/2016 08:39

Moonlight that's so impressive you switched to decaf, did it take long to get used to?

Sorry about the ewcm Lisa - well and truly Sod's law.

Woop, enjoy your holiday pjs! I've told my family and one friend who would definitely have guessed if I wasn't drinking today! She has offered to slyly switch our glasses or drink from mine Smile

Good luck basset if you decide to test this weekend!

bassetmum · 24/09/2016 09:44

I haven't tested this morning but I feel like I am out this month as I have woken up with what feels like a hormonal headache Sad could be dehydration but we will see. I hope it isnt af yet as I think I am only 10 dpo which is on the short side for a lp.

MoonlightMojitos · 24/09/2016 10:06

mrscw no, wasn't too bad making the switch! I started off alternating and swapping a few more at a time over a few weeks until fully decaf, I drink about 6 cups a day so was definately too much caffeine before! Working in an office when someone is always making a round lol. I still treat myself to a weekly latte though haha. That's so nice that you've told a friend, how exciting! I think that's alot easier to fake drinking rather than making up excuses.

I finished reading the girl on the train last night, only took me 3 nights ... so much for a 2ww distraction! And I saw bridget jones baby wednesday night. Been trying to keep busy! Need to find another good one now to keep me going another 5 or so days lol. I've decided to have a massive clear out today and throw away old clothes (well, charity shop) so keep me busy. A good excuse to go shopping for a new winter wardrobe!

Blissfulignorance · 24/09/2016 10:35

Just butting in on this book chat, love reading! Have ordered girl on the train but just wanted to say one of my fav authors has to Cecelia Ahern. Read all of hers, easy reading and pretty cheap too. If you need to pass the time I'd start with her moonlight Smile

MoonlightMojitos · 24/09/2016 10:42

Thanks blissful yes, I've read a few of her older ones but I'll have a look and see what others there are. There's a charity bookshop near me, it's AMAZING, every book is £1 and all arranged by author like a library so I plan to make a trip soon with a list of authors/recommended books and stock up!

Seahawk80 · 24/09/2016 10:43

Hi all - just checking in and catching up. I'm def out this month as AF arrived this morning. Just in time for hideous cramps working today after a really late night at a wedding, feeling v sorry for myself! On the plus side I'm quite happy with a 36 day cycle.

Good luck if you do test Basset I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

pjs enjoy the holiday! I wish I was still away! Have lots of cocktails!

mojitos I actually googled books like girl on the train yesterday! One that was recommended that sounded good was called try not to breathe. I haven't got it yet but might be worth a try. The Widow is pretty good too.

There was a baby bomb at the wedding yesterday, bride is pregnant and I know they've only been trying for 2 months as she was living abroad until then. They are lovely and I'm v happy for them. It did make me think though perhaps the key to TTC is a long distance relationship for the 3 years leading up to it, then dtd every other day would be easy Grin
