thing slimming world is ace, is doing it too, my bmi is 25 but now I know I'm not allowed to ttc for a bit I'm lowering my target, I started in Jan and lost 4.5 stone in 5 months. I've been off plan a bit recently with being pg and mc I haven't had the will power but I'm totally back on it today :-) good luck :-)

TheLegendOfBeans · 01/11/2016 18:48

Hello lightgreenglass and welcome to a club full of nice people here for shitty reasons.

MrsY all my sympathies; when I came back to work and saw a colleague pregnant that I didn't expect to be (long story tl;dr) it utterly fried my brain. I held it down and styled it out but when I got home holy shit the waterworks started.

AvalancheRoses · 01/11/2016 23:45

Hi there I'm new to mumsnet. I'm not TTC but we are NTNP. Is it ok to hang out with you guys?

We've had two miscarriages this year (11 weeks and 5 weeks), and a still birth (our little boy was born October 14th)

Prior to this year we have two losses between 11-12 weeks and I have an 8 year old daughter from a previous marriage.

We are just NTNP because we arent ready to TTC but just BC just feels wrong to us. I doubt my HCG levels have fallen enough to ovulate. I always get pregnant quickly, we just can't keep our babies Sad we've got our first fertility appointment in December.

Jaffacakes1234 · 02/11/2016 05:38

avalanche that sounds so hard so sorry you've had to go through all that, hope you get some answers soon

eckythumpenallthat · 02/11/2016 07:29

Jumping on board. Hi all Smile

Had a mc in Feb when I was 9/10 week and a PUL in May which dragged on for a couple of months. Time to try again. Excited and nervous and terrified all at the same time :-/

SayItIsntSo1 · 02/11/2016 08:20

Hi Avalanche and eckythump. Sorry you're here and I hope we can all offer some support.

ecky I love your username. As a Northern import to the South I miss the phrases of home Grin

Josie01 · 02/11/2016 13:16

Hi Avalanche. Big hugs that sounds so hard X

Hi ecky, sorry you're here too x

eckythumpenallthat · 02/11/2016 16:03

GrinGrinGrin thanks sayitisntso i don't say it often enough, if at all really but it does make me giggle

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 03/11/2016 06:26

Hi all, I had my second miscarriage in August after a year of TTC following a miscarriage in July '15 (both early at 6/7 weeks). My period came back at the start of October so we started trying again. I started spotting on Tuesday and thought it might be implantation bleeding but then it seems to actually be my period.

My point is this is weird as it's 2 weeks earlier than usual (normally or 38 days for me).

So I just wanted to know has anyone else's cycle completely changed after a miscarriage (mine didn't after the last one).

Also does anyone else have a Prolactinoma and know if it has any affect of TTC /miscarriages? My endocrinologist and GP are both pretty useless.

eckythumpenallthat · 03/11/2016 08:55

Hi imgonnasing my cycles have changed. Used to be 28 days and oddly always started at the same time of day. Handy Grin but now it's between 32 and 35 days. And omg so so so much heavier than before. Not fun Blush

No idea on ur meds. But I sympathise. My endocrinologist is also about as much use as a chocolate bloody tea pot

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 03/11/2016 09:53

Thanks ecky, reassuring to know others have changed, was panicking a little that it was some random bleeding but definitely feels like my normal period.

Josie01 · 03/11/2016 13:51

Tgis was going to be my next question, I've had 2 different cycles now, first post mc was 28 days, this was 26. I convinced myself I'd done enough to be pregnant again this cycle. I really should have tried OPKs.

wowwee123 · 03/11/2016 14:09

cant remember if i joined this thread or another one but heyyy!

i an ttc following an mmc in nov 2014 and a stillbirth in jul 2015. been on micronor for about 10 months and stopped it saturday.

micronor was always quite tempremental so i expected a withdrawal bleed as soon s i stopped it but nothing as of yet. has anyone else come off micronor?

MrsY87 · 04/11/2016 06:03

Jaffa good that they have picked up the polyp this time so you can get it sorted, hopefully the wait won't be too long so you can start ttc again

Hi light sorry to hear about your mc. I totally understand that urge to get pregnant again straight away.. we didn't wait for a period just until I had properly stopped bleeding and I used opks to see when I was oving.

Avalanche it sounds like you have had a really tough time, I'm so sorry for your losses. I really hope the consultant can find some answers for you.

Sorry to are here too *ecky

Im 11dpo today, been spotting since 8dpo did a test and its negative so think we'll be moving on to cycle 8. Sad cycle 2 post 2nd mc. should hopefully get my recurrent miscarriage blood test results back today so interested to see if they give any clues as to why I had the mcs.

eckythumpenallthat · 04/11/2016 07:57

2ww time. The longest fortnight on earth. Only our second month TTC and haven't resorted to ovulation tests just yet. But a nervy wait all the same

TheLegendOfBeans · 04/11/2016 09:29

My boobs were sore last night. And I can't work out if it's in my head but they felt a bit hot and ouchy.

Still not effin' testing until after Christmas. No way.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 04/11/2016 10:50

Can someone please tell me what all the different abbreviations mean?
2ww, Dpo, opks, bfp?

Also does anyone use a cycle tracking app?

I've been using Glow but wondering if there is a good one for post mc as Glow doesn't have any options to input mc as far as I can tell.

BertieBotts · 04/11/2016 12:10

2ww = two week wait, refers to the period between ovulation (after the shagging) and before your period/possible test date.

DPO = days post ovulation

OPKs = ovulation prediction kits. You pee on a stick and it tests for presence of LH (Lutenizing hormone) which tells you you're about to ovulate in the next 48 hours. Bit fiddly to use. Less accurate than BBT (Basal body temperature).

BFP = Big fat positive (pregnancy test). BFN = Big fat negative.

AF = Aunt Flo (aka period)

CD = cycle day

Usually with the apps to recognise miscarriage you have to input the pregnancy and then report that it's ended. But you can just start from cycle day 1 as though it's a normal cycle, too. I find fertility friend is the best one, most of the others are too gimmicky and not very good for actual data. Fertility Friend looks very 90s but it does work and has good info. I'm too stingy to pay for the pro version and the free one is fine, though I'm sometimes tempted.

BertieBotts · 04/11/2016 12:13

I have not been very good at inputting temps this cycle though DH and I seem to have managed to hit the fertile window a lot! Blush It's our half term this week and DH took the week off work, stated his "project" was to knock me up Grin

Anyway. I have the mysteriously chapped lips again so we'll see. I don't know if I've ovulated or not yet because my temps are too haphazard, but it's possible it was yesterday.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 04/11/2016 16:25

Thanks Bertie, they seem obvious now!
I thought hormone tracking was more accurate than BBT though, not that I've tried the sticks.

I did record the pregnancy in Glow and that it ended but it didn't really acknowledge it. I just wondered if there was one that had specific info regarding what to expect/is normal post mc as I was really freaked out by my period coming so early.

Anyway maybe I will keep more of an eye on my BBT and see what that tells me.

Josie01 · 04/11/2016 16:45

I picked up some OPKs from Home Bargain today, thought I'd give them a try, they were only £2.99. Possibly for a reason Envy

Yes, that 2ww is pretty rubbish. I caved this week and did a test.

Hope you all have a relaxing weekend Smile

BertieBotts · 04/11/2016 17:20

Oh I see. No, no app can tell you what to expect after a miscarriage I'm afraid as there is no such thing as "normal". For me both times I've had a slightly shorter cycle than normal and I did seem to ovulate but didn't conceive, but everyone is different.

The advantage of OPKs over BBT is that they can tell you before you ovulate whereas BBT only allows you to see the pattern after it's happened, but I've found I've been doing it for a while now and so I generally know what to look for as signs of impeding ovulation and I'm normally right, so it can help if you do it over a few cycles.
