thing thanks for the reply, the emergency gyne unit and epu are next to each other, I was actually admitted for 2 days with my mc (through a & e- I don't do things by halves!) they said to ring if any signs of infection but there aren't. I don't think they would be too interested that my period hasn't turned up by 5.5 weeks, would they?
jade sorry for your loss, it's horrible isn't it

Thingymaboob · 24/10/2016 19:17

Jaffa, probably not.

Brenna24 · 24/10/2016 21:32

I think you should wait a bit longer Jaffa. It often takes a while for things to settle after a miscarriage. Especially if it was later or quite traumatic with a lot of bleeding. Your body needs time to heal and your hormones to reset.

SayItIsntSo1 · 24/10/2016 21:39

Thanks JBee had a look today and found someone I like the look of. Will definitely think about it.

I read this evening that FRERs detect a 6.5 hCG?! A bit worried to do one now as my hCG was stil 12 2 weeks ago. I would hate to get false hope but also terrified to get a negative. Would like to hold out until closer to Sat and surely by now any leftover hCG from my chemical last month would be gone but the FRER is calling me from the bathroom cupboard!... Levels are higher in the blood than urine right?

I know this is a proper first world problem as far as TTC is concerned but this will be cycle 2 post MC (cycle 1 post CP), we've never had to try for more than 2 cycles for me to get pregnant. It will be uncharted territory if this month is unsuccessful...

Right, enough self pity. How's everyone else getting on? Anyone else testing soon? Hoping we have some successes to spur us on Grin

Jaffacakes1234 · 25/10/2016 11:33

Thanks it's was pretty traumatic (quite a lot of dizziness and fainting due to the amount of blood lost) and I was 11+2, I'm also breastfeeding my 19 month old which probably doesn't help. Feel like I'm going crazy :-( not even so much about ttc now (though I do desperately want to) more about the mc being complete so I can move on, going to go to the dr Friday either way.
says I'm a test taking obsessive even though they have been negative for weeks I keep taking them!!

SayItIsntSo1 · 25/10/2016 11:56

Thanks Jaffa. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Promised myself I would wait until Friday but did a test this morning and it's positive. Now I'm anxious it's still leftover hCG from the chemical or will become a chemical.

Haven't told DH as I know he will be Hmm at me and the Drs won't be interested until I'm late...

And I have backache which happened last cycle with CP before I started to bleed at nearly 5wks.

F&@k me this is a barrel of laughs! Confused

MrsY87 · 25/10/2016 12:32

That's exciting say tentative congratulations! I know exactly how you are feeling as I was in the same situation last cycle, wasn't sure if it was left over HCG or a new pregnancy. How many dpo are you? Maybe get a digi as they are 25 sensitivity or you could go and get your bloods done to give you a definitive answer. Keeping fingers crossed for you that it's a new pregnancy.

Think I'm 1dpo today, we decided to try again straight away again but now I'm feeling so nervous about it going wrong again for the third cycle In a row if we do conceive again...Just trying to stay positive and concentrate on work and DD rather than the tww!

Jaffacakes1234 · 25/10/2016 15:27

Wow say so exciting!! Can't wait til we can try again! Dtd the other night with a condom which is so backwards when you want a baby!!

SayItIsntSo1 · 25/10/2016 16:44

Thanks mrsy and jaffa. I would love to feel hopeful but I don't. Stomach has been in knots all day.

I might do bloods next week if I make it that far.

I can totally understand why you're trying straight again MrsY. I said to DH, surely 2 losses means we've had our bad luck and we can feel positive and excited again.

And I know what you mean about the condoms Jaffa. We considered going down that route but if we'd have waited I may have been happy to just decline any of DHs advances Grin as awful as this situation is I'm pretty certain he thinks Christmas has come early during FW!

Jaffacakes1234 · 25/10/2016 18:16

Hope it's good news :-)
I've been specifically told to use condoms until I've had a period and a scan as I have retained product otherwise I'd definitely not bother..... temped to do it anyway as it's such a small clot (1cm) and they don't seem worried but I asked what happens if it's still there and I get pg and the nurse said there's evidence that my body may get confused and miscarry again :-(

Brenna24 · 25/10/2016 23:04

Fingers crossed SayIt.

I know what you mean about the condoms. We had to have two months off trying in order to have tests. That felt so shit.

Jaffacakes1234 · 26/10/2016 09:46

Seems so backwards doesn't it Confused

littlepooch · 26/10/2016 10:24

say fingers crossed for you. Hope it's a new strong positive.
Anyone else in the 2ww?

I'm 11dpo and cramps are ramping up. I'm sure I had brown spotting in the night too but it was dark and I didn't want to turn the light on and risk waking DD as she's not well. So fairly sure AF is looming. Grrrrrrr. I was so hopeful I might be one of those people who fall again quite quickly after a mc but looks like we're in it for the long haul again. I do wonder why some people fall pregnant so quickly and easily and others like myself it takes ages to get pregnant in the first place and then the inevitable happens. I'm not one for negativity but does seem unfair.

Jaffacakes1234 · 26/10/2016 10:54

little how long did it take? Does seem unfair, I was lucky with my first 3, they were conceived first month, first month and third months, this last one was 6 months to conceive, then i was nearly 12 weeks when I mc, my friend That started ttc the same month as me gave birth to her baby on Monday!
I wanted to ttc asap and I feel like with waiting I'm wasting the fertility that comes after mc :-(

Jaffacakes1234 · 26/10/2016 17:00

What vitamins/ supplements diets are any of you following while ttc?

SayItIsntSo1 · 26/10/2016 17:15

Well I think it's either another CP or leftover hCG from the last one still. Test this aft is fainter.

Will wait now. Not sure there's any point going to the Drs for bloods, doubt they'd even see me until next week when I'm late.

Stupid FRERs. I need to grow some patience. Sad

MrsY87 · 26/10/2016 19:52

Sorry to hear that say but it might just be that you've drunk a bit more than before the last test, when is AF due?

Jaffa I'm taking pregnacare conception but nothing else. I have given up caffeine and am trying to cut back on my alcohol intake too, but trying not to let it take over my life too much. Is anyone else making lifestyle changes?

SayItIsntSo1 · 26/10/2016 20:11

AF is due Fri/Sat. Just feel a bit stupid for testing after I said I wouldn't. I would still be upset when AF turned up but am now wondering what the chuff is going on and why my body can't just naff off being crap and get up duffed?!

I'm going to keep repeating; i.must.not.pee.on.sticks.

The test yesterday was in the morning (not fmu) and today's was in the afternoon. I haven't done any tests/bloods since my bloods over 2 weeks ago were at 12 so thought it would be too low to register on a test now...

Jaffa I haven't made any real diet/lifestyle changes. Trying to keep caffeine lower as would normally have 3 strong coffees a day, and other than that taking preg vitamins and trying to have less alcohol. Always try to eat fairly healthily and exercise but still probably eat too much junk.

Alb1 · 26/10/2016 20:24

sayit I was like that when I got my bfp a few weeks ago, tested on the Friday when I wasn't due till the Tuesday, Saturday's test was lighter so bought a more sensitive one and it was lighter so I decided that was the end and had a glass of wine and messed around for days convinced they weren't getting darker, turns out strength of tests doesn't always mean too much before AF is due, they took ages to go dark too. I no there's no guarantee either way, just wanted to let you no it isn't always bad news, our body's and the tests just don't always behave in unison. I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you Flowers

Jaffacakes1234 · 26/10/2016 20:50

I'm doing pregnacare conception his and hers, cut caffeine completely, no alcohol but I don't really drink anyway as I have 3 kids 5,4 and 19 months and im bfing (a hangover isn't welcome with littlies!) I'm having full fat milk and cheese as I read low fat alternatives aren't good for fertility, not every day but we have both been taking vitamin supplements that are good for fertility such as zinc and several others and dh is taking magnesium. Just generally trying to keep fit and healthy.

emily86 · 27/10/2016 08:43

Say fingers crossed it is a new one for you.

Jaffa I just take bog standard folic acid and have cut back on caffeine and alcohol a bit. I already had a good diet and exercised regularly. I feel it has taken over my life enough as it is without giving up all of life's little pleasures. I took pregnacare for a few months but it seemed to mess with my periods a bit.

Brenna24 · 27/10/2016 12:33

THe Witch has got me. That is me out for another month.

Flashinthepan · 27/10/2016 13:14

Sorry to hear that Brenna.

I've seen a few people mentioning acupuncture, I just decided to try it to get my cycles under control, had my first one on Tuesday and loved it. Hoping that it will help things return to normal so that I can start trying again. Due date would have been in 6 weeks, so hoping to get past that without incident.

Haven't been around on here much as can't actively try yet but its nice knowing the support is here.

jbee664 · 27/10/2016 13:55

Very sorry to hear that Brenna

Flash glad you're enjoying acupuncture - it really helped me - not just the treatment but it feels like a counselling session too!

My acupuncturist advised me to take Metafolin with I think is a stronger folic acid. She also advised C0Q10 which apparently helps get good quality eggs for older ladies!

littlepooch · 27/10/2016 16:41

Sorry brenna :(

I just take folic acid. I spent years obsessing when ttc DD I gave alcohol, caffeine, drank loads of milk etc and none of it made a blind bit of difference. If anything it made me more miserable.

The other thing is I take a huge dose of co q10 on the advise of my fertility specialist when we were facing the IVF route. She told me to take it for 3 months before starting IVF to improve my egg quality as I have such a low egg reserve and poor egg quality. And bam. End of 3 months I was pregnant with DD naturally and was the only pregnancy I have managed to hold on to. Maybe coincidence, who knows but Ipm carrying on with it this time too.
