Congratulations on the bfps ladies!

Has anyone had mid-cycle spotting following MC?

I thought I got my period 10 days ago (3 weeks post ERPC). But yesterday and today had some spotting and brown/pink discharge. Never had this pre MC.

I now have no idea if it's the start of my period and actually the 4 days bleeding was just the end of MC (had nothing but spotting post ERPC).

Ov tests are negative. Pre MC had regular 28 day cycle.

I think I'm probably being really impatient for things to settle down, but every week is a lifetime waiting to see if we can dtd and try again. Feeling really confused and fed up, hoping you lovely ladies can help.

Sorry for the woe is me post Sad

Sorry you're in the same situation Mrs. It's rubbish not knowing what is going on.

HighHopes16 · 10/09/2016 07:50

I'm the same SayIt - it's been 10 weeks since my ERPC and all I've had is a couple of days of spotting. It's so frustrating not knowing what's going on as I just want to start ttc again! Got an appointment at the docs last week to discuss my scan results so going to mention it then.

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/09/2016 10:19

I've been dipping in and out madly symptom spotting since my early mc last cycle. Haven't had AF since then so was a bit lost on dates but think I'm about 14dpo.

Tested this morning and looks positive! Has anyone used the superdrug plus minus digital tests? That's what this is and it's the only test I had left. Will try and get another (handful!) later as can't believe it right now. DH is out and I don't want to tell him till I've got another bfp because he'll be so excited and it's so soon after the awfulness of the mc. We were so happy and then so heartbroken.

I know I should be happy, it's what we're all here for! But it feels so fragile. Someone give me a slap! x

Eek congratulations! Certainly looks like a positive. I've never used one of those kind of tests. Presumably you'd had a negative after your miscarriage?

It would be easy for me to give you a virtual slap and say relax and be happy but from my personal experience of having 2 MCs I know that is easier said than done. I also know I will be an anxious wreck should I ever get another BFP.

I guess just try and take one day at a time and remember that this is a different pregnancy to last time therefore there is every chance everything will go smoothly this time.

Good luck!

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/09/2016 13:37

Thanks Emily, that's so kind of you.

I've never had a bfp on one of these before and there's sod all online about their reliability, despite my frantic googling. Everyone's using the line ones and "pregnant/not pregnant" digi ones

I'll feel better if I get some more tests and still bfps but also happy with the good feeling for now and can't cope with the thought of it going away.

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/09/2016 15:52

Read yours again, yes, had bfn days after mc started.

I hope you get a bfp again very soon and it sticks and you get your lovely baby x

Hazandduck · 10/09/2016 16:42

Congratulations on the BFPs.
Feeling kind of listless today about babies/pregnancy. I just don't want to think about it any more but I can't help it. Keep thinking I am going to come on. Miscarriage started 8weeks ago today and I don't feel like I am moving on from it much. I had a D and C the day after I started bleeding (8 weeks tomorrow) and spotted for 3 weeks after. On the last day I spotted I did a pregnancy test and got a BFP. really strong really fast. Called gyno at my hospital, he said leave it 10 days and do another and if it is negative then you are back to normal, if jts not you will have to come in for more tests/scans to see if there are any remaining products.
Well I obviously forgot to do a further test. And then about a week later I started to feel really pregnant again (me and other half have been going for it since about 2 weeks after D&C) I had backache and cramping and just felt so like I did the first time I got preggo. So on the 30th of August I did another test. And got a BFP! I am too scared to do another test and believe that I am pregnant. I don't want to tell gyno because my GP implied that the early internal scan I paid for last time could have caused a miscarriage. So if this is a new pregnancy then what if they want to internally scan me and cause another miscarriage? I feel so stuck!! What if it is just retained products? Gah I hate this! Sorry for the rant I just don't know what to do and thought venting may help. Hope everyone is having a more productive Saturday than me! X

FXSkip · 10/09/2016 17:09

haz that's tricky, and I guess why they say to wait one whole cycle before trying again. Still, you think you are 10 dpo then just go by that and wait and see. Did you test with a CBD? If by 6 weeks you are still testing positive and have had no bleeding then book booking in appt? Also I am not sure how fair it is to suggest an internal scan caused the mc, given that people have babies in warzones and survive all sorts of shit. Sorry if that's crap advice xx

Thank you for your replies skip and mrs I know I understand why they say to wait now I think my hormones just made me feel desperate to be pregnant again! I didn't really believe it would happen again. But I just felt pregnant! It was so weird. I knew I was last time too. But that happened the only time we had unprotected but this time I have no idea when it happened so can't begin to work out dates! I'm guessing if I am pregnant again I could maybe be 4-5 weeks? But don't know. I think I will do a CBD I haven't done one yet. I just want to bury my head in the sand and not know what is going on! 😣
mrs I asked the same, when i had the scan done it was after the miscarriage I told my GP and she made a face and said it's not good to be poking around! It hurt because looking at the scan we saw a heartbeat and everything was fine and my ovaries were fine so that's all I could think had gone wrong :( But so many other people I know have had them and not miscarried. I just don't think I want to do anything the same as last time now. X

SayItIsntSo1 · 10/09/2016 18:33

HighHopes sorry I missed your post. I understand your frustration. I was really surprised after my ERPC that it was only spotting, but took comfort that it probably meant they'd got everything and wouldn't be faced with a repeat. What is your scan for?

Congratulations Anne and Haz! Hoping all goes well for you both.

No AF here and no more spotting. Seems to be that there are no rules after MC! Just peeing on Ov tests every day hoping to get a smiley face until I know otherwise.

Try not to worry about the scans Mrs. I had one at 9 weeks, not internal, and it still didn't make a difference or the one at 12 weeks. My friend had an internal at 7 weeks and is now 4 days overdue waiting on her healthy bubs to arrive. I too am wondering if I would give them a miss next time. Although would like to do the Harmony test which I think is 10 weeks?

HighHopes16 · 10/09/2016 19:27

Congratulations Anne & Haz !
SayIt I had to have a follow up scan after my miscarriage as the sonographer saw cysts on my ovaries so they suspected pcos. Got a gp appointment next week to discuss the results!

SayItIsntSo1 · 10/09/2016 19:43

Ahh ok. Well I hope your appointment goes well and they can give you some answers and a plan.

Hazandduck · 10/09/2016 22:29

Say I agree I think there aren't any rules when it comes to miscarriage and the aftermath! It's something I think definitely needs more research and support, as it is so common yet when I experienced it I had no idea what to expect and was completely expecting it to be 'just a heavy period' so when I bled worse than I ever have and had these enormous (sorry tmi) liver type clots the size of chicken breasts coming out, my oh so helpful maternity pack from the doctors had nothing to help me in the case of a miscarriage or to warn me what was happening! If it happens to 1 in 4 of us why are we not warned more about it? It all seems so swept under the carpet! And then when you're home you are left to just wonder when your cycle will get back to normal...

HighHopes16 · 12/09/2016 07:56

Just came back from my Gp appointment with all round bad news. Sad My scan showed that I definitely have pcos with cysts on both ovaries. It also showed that the lining of my womb was thickened which means I could still have retained products from my miscarriage. He's referred me to a gynocologist quite urgently as he said it can cause scar tissue and in worse cases make you infertile. I may need another D&C or an invasive procedure so he said I should stop ttc for now. When that's all clear he will refer me to an endocrinologist to discuss treatment for pcos as that can make it harder to conceive and increase your risk of miscarriage. Sad

FXSkip · 12/09/2016 10:29

sorry to see you've had bad news highhopes, fingers crossed for you that the invasive op is not needed. I hope that this is just a blip for you guys, and remember plenty of people have no problem conceiving naturally with PCOS

SayItIsntSo1 · 12/09/2016 11:40

Sorry the appointment wasn't more positive High. Finding any issues is half the battle, I hope your health team are being supportive and proactive.

Try to be kind to yourself.

littlepooch · 12/09/2016 15:11

Congratulations to all the bfps!

high I'm sorry it wasn't better news. Really hope you don't need an op and that the endo helps with the pcos.

HighHopes16 · 12/09/2016 15:15

Thanks everyone, I just wanted this m/c to be over so we could move on and start ttc again.

Brenna24 · 12/09/2016 15:55

I'm so sorry. That sucks High. Fingers crossed they get the last of the tissue out with minimal trauma and get you sorted for the PCOS. It is horrendous when they drag on and on. So unfair.
