Hi all, had my MC last week at 10 weeks it was a really rough few days my bleeding has just about stopped. Had my second blood test today so hoping my levels are dropping (they were already low after my scan as I had lost a lot of blood). So gutted but also keen to ttc again just got to wait for my body to get back to some kind of normal. It was my first pregnancy.

Brenna24 · 28/08/2016 20:53

You could be Haz. wait until you are overdue, then take a test. I know plenty of people with healthy pregnancies who have had aches and pains and sore backs though. I think that is actually quite unprofessional of her to scare you like that. She doesn't see people who don't have problems, so she has no way of knowing how many healthy people also have bachache. Without a double blind study with a larger population of people she has no way of knowing how true that is. I'm not convinced that the link would be that clear cut either. I have lost 3 pregnancies without any backache. I hope you are pregnant and that she is wrong.

Welcome Smiler. I am so sorry you are here. I hope you don't stick with us for long.

Brenna24 · 29/08/2016 22:57

Grin I met one of my neighbours out with his dog when I was taking out my bin this evening. We were chatting away and we were talking about my DDog. Said neighbour told me he would calm down when he grew up. His face was a picture when I told him DDog will be 14 soon. Grin DDog is actually a model of good behaviour compared to the 4 year old dog I originally adopted. Although I was putting a bin bag out which was topped with the remains of a pack of butter I had just removed from DDg which had previously been on the kitchen worksurface. Given he is geriatric and riddled with arthritis I didn't know whether to tell him off or congratulate him.

Hey all.... Hope everyone is doing good. Currently cd21 & have just been spotting a little bit of bright red blood. Too early for AF as I still have 9 days to go. Never had spotting before. Could this be implantation? I have very very light cramps very low down in my belly.

littlepooch · 30/08/2016 17:05

Hello all.

Just checking in to see how everyone is.

cookie fingers crossed its implantation! I've never had a bleed around then but know of many people who do.

Good luck for this cycle brenna.

smiler so sorry for your loss. Flowers

haz I fell pregnant very quickly with my DD after my second MC and it was my only successful pregnancy to date. Im not sure what your acu lady said is right - I think lower back pain is a common preg symptom and why would that indicate s problem. I hope she has not worried you.

As for me, well I have started spotting and having bad cramps so I guess that must be me out for this month. A couple of days early but I guess my cycles are still calming down post MC. I was secretly so hopeful this month. Ah well. I shall spend a few days licking my wounds then will move on. The road ahead seems so long but positivity is key for me and I will be hopeful!

INeedNewShoes · 30/08/2016 17:23

Hi everyone.

I hope everyone's doing OK.

Does anyone here have APS or Hughes Syndrome? My blood tests indicated that I might have this and it would be useful to chat about others' experiences of it.

BertieBotts · 30/08/2016 19:36

Right, well, I managed to stay pregnant for all of 10 days again. So I'm back.

Planning to temp this time in case I catch an ovulation temp shift before first period this time as it should help me predict it and reduce the "Raaaaagh when is it coming?!" annoyance.

Cookiemonster19 · 30/08/2016 20:11

I'm so sorry Bertie 😢 My thoughts are with you 💕

jbee664 · 30/08/2016 20:16

Just catching up!

So sorry Bertie how are you feeling? How far along were you? (flowers)

Sorry newshoes I'm not sure what that is, what have the docs said and how does it affect you?

INeedNewShoes · 30/08/2016 20:31

Bertie you poor thing Sad

Have you had any blood tests run at any point to check your clotting etc.?

Hi Jbee it's basically a blood clotting disorder that will require blood thinners (like heparin injections) from the start of pregnancy. The trouble is GPs can't prescribe heparin and I might not get to see a consultant in time before my sticky blood sabotages my pregnancy.

I've had a lovely strong line of a BFP today but I can't celebrate because I know that unless I can be seen at the hospital really quickly, I'll just miscarry again Sad

I've got an appointment with my GP on Thursday but I'll phone the EPU tomorrow morning in case they can arrange for me to be seen.

littlepooch · 30/08/2016 21:22

Oh bertie I'm so sorry. Flowers

ineed - cautious congratulations if I may? Hope that's ok to say. Sorry if it was the wrong thing to say. Definitely phone EPU tomorrow and explain. I'm sure they will be able to help. If not, could you press your GP for an emergency phone appointment? How quickly do you need to act? I hope you can get some support ASAP.

BertieBotts · 30/08/2016 22:23

I'm OK. I passed my driving theory the next day :) And I completely confused everyone at the gynecologists's office (language barrier) perhaps because I didn't look upset enough so it took ages for them to work out what I was actually there for, they got me to do a urine test to confirm the pregnancy (!) and then they asked me if I'd been to hospital. Confused I said no, it was the same as last time so I didn't really worry too much about it, I just waited until Monday to come in which really confused them! They have signed me off work for a week though which I'm grateful for because I can't do much rushing around before I need to rest.

Oh well. I was 5+4 which was the same as last time. I have DS from a previous relationship and we know DH has wonky genes. (This is probably, in all honesty, what makes me so pragmatic and unemotional about things.) So it's just a fact of going through the hoops because they don't investigate family history, only if you've actually had three miscarriages. This is our second so next time means either a baby or some investigation (to tell us what we already know, argh, but anyway hopefully that would give us some further info and possible other options.)

Hazandduck · 30/08/2016 23:47

Brenna your dog sounds amazing! A spritely old boy! We have been debating getting a dog next September when we get back from honeymoon! The only thing holding us back is our dear little cat we don't want to upset him. Thank you to you and pooch for your replies I am seeing her again tomorrow so am going to tell her the symptoms I've been having. I don't think she meant to make me worry she has been really sweet but it was one of those throwaway comments that kind of stuck in my mind.
I'm so sorry for all the losses it is the worst, has anyone seen the episode of Only Fools when Rodney and Cassandra lose their baby? The one when Del and Rodney have a heart to heart about the loss. Well me and OH made the mistake of watching it yesterday and God it triggered me off again 😢
newshoes and bertie I'm so sorry for what has happened. I read something about baby aspirin helping with pregnancy for people with clotting disorders. You can get it from Boots, just a thought and it wouldn't do any harm to just take one a day when you get pregnant. Really hope you get proper help and support soon. The helplessness of our situations is the fact we just have to cope with the prospect of more miscarriages before the docs will do proper tests. It's a horrible situation to be in.
Did a test tonight and as I suspected it came up positive, I don't feel happy or excited just heavy dread and doubt it it real. I miscarried in July but bled up until 8th of August and still got strong positives then I've not had a negative yet my last test was 3 weeks ago, could I still have HCG from then? Or do you think this is a new pregnancy? God I so wanted pregnancy to be a happy time but it is really just fear and worry xx

Hazandduck · 30/08/2016 23:49

Ps bertie well done on the theory! I only did my test last autumn! It's the best feeling ever when you get on the road :)
It is horrible that they won't test you til you have three. I know it's sneaky and dishonest but have you thought about...just telling the docs you've had 3? Heartless I know but if it gets them to help you...I don't know x

Brenna24 · 31/08/2016 00:08

I am so sorry Bertie. Big hugs from me. Well done on teh theory test though.

Congratulations, Ineed I have been tested for APS. No sign of it for me. I was told if I did have it then I would have to ring the EPU and my consultant at the recurrent miscarriage clinic and get started on treatment. As part of my treatment they were going to put me on 75mg aspirin per day as that helps thin the blood. They were going to do that empirically if my bloods weren't back and I ended up pregnant again.

I hope that is a new one Haz tentative congratulations from here.

Hazandduck · 31/08/2016 10:20

Thanks Brenna I really feel like I am going to come on and feel like if I do it may just reset all my hormones! I have been having symptoms the last ten days or so just really tired falling asleep watching telly which I never do, and aching back and cramps. That's why I did the test. But I am womdering if I'm trying to convince myself I am to feel better about the loss before.. I just wish I'd had a negative then I would know this one is knew! OH said I should leave it a few weeks then do another test. If I come on in that time then I'll know it was just leftover from before! X

Hazandduck · 31/08/2016 10:21

*new! Sorry I'm blaming the tiredness lol x

Hazandduck · 31/08/2016 10:22

Ps I have bought some 75mg aspirin do you think it is safe to just take if the doctor hasn't told you to? Can't do any harm can it? I've not been tested for clotting but I do have migraines with aura and have a history of strokes and heart disease in the family (maternal grandfather died at 51 from a stroke.) x

Alb1 · 31/08/2016 10:57

So sorry bertie Flowers I'm glad your dealing with it well though.

Not had time to catch up properly sorry, no internet in our new house yet and don't get phone signal either.

8dpo here, I can tell it's not our month. Does anyone here check there cervix? It's my first month of trying to do it and I'm finding it pretty confusing, I can see why it takes a while to get used to it

INeedNewShoes · 31/08/2016 11:22

Hazandduck I personally wouldn't take Aspirin if you don't have any signs of a clotting problem. If your blood is already a good consistency it probably wouldn't be a good idea to take a blood thinner.

Also there has been very little research into whether there are adverse effects on the baby of using Aspirin in pregnancy. It plays on my mind that the current 'fashion' for taking Aspirin in pregnancy whether needed or not might turn out to have consequences further down the line. Children are no longer supposed to take Aspirin because of effects on the liver and brain. That's enough to make me wary about taking it during pregnancy.

If I am instructed to take Aspirin for my blood clotting issues I will (I am waiting to hear from my consultant because I have colitis which usually excludes me from taking Aspirin) but I don't feel happy about it as to me more research is needed on the effects of pregnant women taking it every day.

BertieBotts · 31/08/2016 11:30

I have to go back on Monday for repeat bloods and an appointment on Tuesday to discuss things and get examined in case I need a D+C, which I hope I won't, it was so early and I didn't have any problems last time.

HighHopes16 · 31/08/2016 11:48

Hi All, Can I join please?

I came off the pill in December 2015 and got my BFP Apr 2016, I had some bleeding so was referred to EPU for a scan where they said I had probably got my dates mixed up as it was too early to see anything so I was told to come back a week later where they found a heartbeat but it was very slow. They prepared me for bad news and when we went back a week later they said the heart had stopped so I went in for a ERPC on 4th July. :(
4 weeks later I finally got a BFN and its been another 4 weeks since then but there is still no sign of AF. I'm currently undergoing tests for PCOS as when I had the scan to confirm the miscarriage they saw cysts on one of my ovaries.
I just wish everything would go back to normal so we can start ttc again!

jbee664 · 31/08/2016 12:02

Bertie - glad you're doing okay, congrats on passing your test! Hopefully you won't need any medial help with it being so early, my mc in June was 6+4 and passed without any problem, just bleeding.

Newshoes have you managed to see a doctor, could you do it via A&E as it's urgent? Tentative congrats and I hope you can get the help you need.

I've heard mixed things about aspirin too and was told it should only be taken if prescribed by docs.

Haz When I had my horrible GP appointment last week and the doc told me I'd 'only' had 2 I said to my DP afterwards that it encourages people to lie. I don't think I could do it though, would feel like it's bad karma! Am hoping the referral letter he sent works based on me having had 2!

AF over now for me so let the DTD commence for the next chance!

INeedNewShoes · 31/08/2016 12:09

Thanks Jbee

I'm waiting for the EPU to call me back. I've also got an appointment with a GP tomorrow morning.

I'm drinking lots of water - apparently this helps with sticky blood - so at least I feel like I'm doing something!

Lufbuh1 · 31/08/2016 13:17

Hi There, sorry that everyone is going through this.

I had a BFP in late June but had a few issues leading to 2 early scans. Everything looked OK although smaller than expected, but then had some spotting so had another scan at 8 weeks and found out the heartbeat had stopped.

Decided to go for medical management, after 2 weeks it still hadn't all come away so had another round. Last week went for yet another scan but still hadn't all come away, so on Friday went in for an MVA under local which sorted me out.

I'm ready to move on and start trying again now - I think because it was such a prolonged period to get it all sorted, it felt like it was just dragging on and we weren't able to move on.

Trying to work out now what to do...midwife said leave it for 1 cycle and then try again, but on pushing she said it was to make it easier to date. Part of me though is worried that because it all took so long...would it be better to leave it? Too many decisions

Just want to be pregnant again!
