Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

I feel like we all need some "the power of I am", repeat after me:
I am a gorgeous woman with a bountiful heart
I am ripe and ready to be with child
I am in perfect time
I am turning my face to the sun and leaving the shadows behind me

Nice bit of positivity there kwick! At least the sun is shining today which always makes things seem better!

Fancy pants strategy didn't work yday. Still no AF. DH made me do a fmu test this morning. Bfn - as expected bit still frustrating!
Is it normal to have classic feelings of pmt - grinding low back ache, intermittent tummy ache for over a week and still no show!??

Hope everyone else who is waiting for bfp/AF is hanging on in there!

In my experience in the past marmite AF always turned up promptly and on time - except when I actually wanted her to show, when she turned into a vindictive coquettish bitch and refused to turn up until I started having hope again. Probably worrying about it is actually delaying it showing, which I know doesn't help at all!

Beautiful sunny day today! Lovely mantra Kwick Smile My temps are up again this morning eee so I'll test tomorrow if no AF shows ...

Welcome Nicky!

Ha to coquettish vindictive bitch kav! But yes you are right. I guess I need to get used to the fact that it ain't gonna be like clockwork anymore - was used to absolutely timetabled certainty after so long on the pill! Will try and put it out my head for the next few days.
Your temps sound positive (I think, don't really know much about temps yet!) FX!

Okay so I've just caught up with the entire post! Promise to be better this time.
So just checked ovia to see where I am at and apparently I'm on my period!! Arm, thanks for letting me know, O!
It's not actually here yet.
I presume it will turn up sometime today though.

Report
marmitetoast1 · 24/05/2016 10:30

Ovia keeps asking me every bloody day if I'm on my period yet. Don't think it's helping! She's winding me right up!

kwick no this last cycle was a normal one. I'm starting the Clomid tomorrow, day 3-7. I'm hoping it'll help more eggs mature and the hcg trigger will kick a couple of good ones down the tubes so when I have IUI next week some time there'll be a good chance of at least one egg taking. I'm nervous about the side effects of the Clomid as I keep reading it turns you into a hormonal raging biatch. But if it works it's worth it.
It's pissing it down today. And quite warm still. I'm a muggy mess.

Hi girls, sorry have been off mumsnet for a few days so just catching up with all the gossip now. Congratulations to those that got their BFPs and scans (Stark that's a pretty little bean you've got there!) and sorry to all of you that AF got ... we're in need of another run of BFPs so hopefully this is our month!!

Have gotten a new phone so I'm not going to install Ovia or FF - I'm sick of the sight of the pair of them. I'm going to try to do a SMEP light approach - every 3 days, more if we fancy it and then go hell for leather when I get a + OPK. Today is day 1 of a longer ISW than normal, but am putting my mind to it this time around!

Have just made a doctors appointment though, period lasted longer than normal last week. Was pretty much gone and then on Friday I started getting some pelvic aches and pains and then some bright red blood. I'm still getting pelvicky twinges every day so I wonder do I have some cysts or something. Going to plough ahead with my ISW / SMEP-ish plan as first appointment they can give me is Friday next week.

Good luck to everyone entering there DILRW (doing-it-like-rabbits-week Smile) and lots of Cake Chocolate and Wine for those still hanging out with AF.

DILRW !!! love that.

Am currently distracting myself job hunting....... whilst waiting for DILRW

surely job-hunting is the white knicker equivalent for ttc?

Hi all, i'll join in this thread too if that's okay.

age 32
ttc #1
cycle 3 CD10

Although I guess this is first proper month where we have a shot. First cycle I had no awareness of dates etc, second month DH got really ill so DTD went out the window during whole of FW. This time I am now armed with my temping stick, my app and a lot of PMA!! Have recently starting OPKing too as because I'm a fairly symptom free person when it comes to AF (very little in way of cramps etc) I also never have much idea when I'm ovulating.
Dh has never known me to keen to DTD, and I'm loving the DILRW!
Put me down for testing on 12 June.

kestrel I thought looking at a new job would surely be the white knicker equivalent, instead I spent 4 months (my notice period plus the month I started work as I would not have been entitled to mat leave) kinda trying but kinda terrified and avoiding DILRW. Really confusing time. That said now I am in a new and better (and better paid) job so it's good. Just annoying when things delay the plan!
winging hello and welcome!

Anyone have any knowledge or experience of temping when they wake up a lot. I haven't been checking as I don't know how reliable it will be, I normally wake up to go to the toilet around 3-4 am and get up between 5.30-6ish on a work day and 7-10 on the weekend if I can get away with it. I don't know if it is worth trying, if it will add anything or if it will just be frustrating and annoying with loads of numbers and no pattern.

Anyone else getting massive ads for the morning after pill? seems an odd choice!

emalady I think as long as you temp at the point you get up then it shouldn't matter what time that might be as I don't think your body will change temperature much in its 'resting' state.

celizabe · 24/05/2016 20:02

I was the same emalady, so I had to bin doing Bbt at all, my charts were all over the place and just confused me more. You could be luckier than me though, so maybe give it a try and see how you get on?

Hi everyone! Going to join in if that's okay.

Age: 29
TTC #1
Cycle: 1 / 5CD

So I'm a newbie to all of this. Itching to have a go and see what happens! We're steering clear from OPKs for a few month. Using Ovia but have no real idea what I'm doing. I've been off the pill for over a couple of years and things run pretty well to schedule minus / plus a day or two. I think I can feel when I ovulate. I get a stitch like sharp pain once a month and it switches from side to side. That could be gas though. Never had the nerve to do an OPK to see.

I PMS like a raging bull in a china shop for 2 days and then cry my eyes out for 2 days. My darling patient husband has a joke for my AF: how do you make a Hormone?.... Don't pay her!

You CAN get pregnant if you have your clothes on

emalady, I temp every morning. In order to get anything meaningful out of it, you have to take your temps at the same time every morning, and you have to take them the moment you wake up - before you get up or speak or anything. I leave my thermometer in my bedside table drawer and take my temps at 7am each morning when my alarm goes off. You have 30 mins leeway on either side of the time you normally take it before the temp is considered unreliable - so I could record a temperature taken any time from 6:30am to 7:30am and still be OK. You should also only be taking your temp after at least 3 solid hours of sleep.

I take mine vaginally as I sleep with my mouth open, which often ends up chucking out unreliable temperatures as well.

Welcome Wingingit and Lemonlime!

The Daily Mail, Moose? Tells you all you need to know, doesn't it ... Hmm

SuchaJem · 24/05/2016 21:33

Lemonlimetonic your PMS sounds similar to mine - but mine lasts longer Confused I'm totally unhinged for a good 10 days a month.

I didn't OPK first cycle either, good to just give things a go and see how you get on. Good luck.

Good morning ladies i am reading the woman codes and it has some interesting theories about eating with your cycle so dofferent foods at each stage help with keeping you hormone balanced . Has anyone heard this theory before i have been researching like mad since feb and its the first thibk i read that makes pwrfect sense but in a way is too simple and too good to be true ?

Properly heinous morning. Temps took a dive and I'm sporting, this is AF on her way, I have no doubt. Mini argument with DH over spending (he keeps buying shit we don't need with money we should be saving for a house deposit, and I found the latest impulse buy this morning) and I am now late for work as I missed my train by 1 min. All I want to do is sit on the station and cry but would prefer not to be observed by a bunch of random strangers on the opposite platform.

Fucked off, depressed, increasingly fed up with this shit and needed to rant. Sorry you ladies get the brunt of it but I can't really share this with anybody around me who would get it the way you do.

I just want to be pregnant. I thought I was - this fucking hurts. Sad

Yep, definitely PMSing ...

This was cycle 5, nicky, so I shouldn't be so upset, plenty of people have to wait far longer. I'm just stressed over my age because I've been temping and opking since the start. At least if I don't get pg next month I can go to the gp to ask for help I guess. It just feels like the perfect day to curl up in bed and shut the world away, and I can't. Probably just as well. Week off next week to look forward to!

LemonLimeTonic · 25/05/2016 09:29

Sorry to hear this Kava. My husband is exactly the same. Money seems to burn a hole in his pocket. We're desperately trying to save a for house deposit... He went and dropped £1K in the Apple Store last week. I was fuming! Why am I taking pack lunches to work and cutting back when he's off spending? It doesn't seem right.

Fingers crossed for you next cycle.
