Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

I'm good thanks kwick and kath 15 weeks today, that feels weird and easing slightly Into acceptance that there's a cub in there. I was trialling talking out loud to it the baby but it came over a bit 'filthy hobbitses, it's our precious' when I tried so I think me and Spud will just stick to telekinesis for now!

Also don't take our good weather Kat! Glasgow needs its 2 weeks of summer Smile

WingingIt83 · 01/06/2016 22:04

Ok ladies, need your opinions as i'm having a bit of a paddy.

This is my first month opking and hence didn't really know when I was ovulating. 28 day cycle so assumed day 14ish. Started to dtd from cd10/11 but DH getting occasional performance anxiety which has been a bit frustrating for both of us. Haven't dtd since Sunday morning (cd15) and I was beginning to think I wasn't going to ovulate as no positive opk but then yesterday I thought I got a positive and confirmed again today (see pic) but....no EWCM? If yesterday was the first positive then I ovulated at some point today presumably? It's the lack of EWCM (or any type really) that's confusing me. ..how long have I really got left of FW?
Tried to dtd tonight but dh couldn't finish the job, he's putting too much pressure on himself and its frustrating for me as it's out of my control :-(

Jesus, stark, how are you 16 weeks already?!? It's so crazy that it seems like time is passing so quickly for all you guys that are pregnant... You're going to have your little bubba soon and I'm still going to be over here like /waves/ still tryin' !!
How's it all going? Whatsapp me some time, yeah?

The weather was pretty poopy today here not raining just cold and very windy. I'm heading up to Coventry for the weekend (annoyingly without DH right in the middle of ISW and fertility score of 10 according to the Bitch) so probably me out for another month!

To the last person who posts OPKs (sorry I'm on my phone and I forgot to look at the poster's name) ... Have you been doing the OPKs at roughly the same time of day, and at similar hydration levels? I think that's where it can get a bit squiffy as I just did them when I could and didn't factor in water cups of tea etc so probably why you can sometimes get funny results.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 01/06/2016 22:31

wing I never once had ewcm. And I had an opk chart much like yours there. A positive opk just means you are producing enough lutenizing hormone to trigger a positive opk. In reality, what that means is an egg is ready to travel down your fallopian tubes and is mature enough to be released. This can be 12-72 hours from positive opk. As long as you have sperm waiting there to fertilise the egg then you're halfway there.

Dtd as much as possible over the next few days and you've given yourself a good go! Just keep shagging really! I did two (at least) opk's a day when I was working out my cycle and it helped. You can get a positive in the morning and a negative by evening. Maybe done tell him when you're ovulating? Or maybe aim to just dtd every other day from the end of af?

My cycles were long as balls and I didn't ever get a positive opk before cd 17.

kat yes I've tried to be as consistent as possible -always between 7 and 8pm and trying not to drink for 2 hrs before. The exceptions are cd15 where it was about 6pm and cd16 where it was about 9pm

StarkyTheDirewolf · 01/06/2016 22:36

I know ow, it's weird as balls kat ill whatapp you shortly, I lost my phone (left it in the loft his time) Dh is getting worried I'm losing my marbles buy I've always been bad with my phone as you know and I'm just getting worse! 😁 have a shag before you go under the guise of missing him? 😉

StarkyTheDirewolf · 01/06/2016 22:37

Best time to do opk's is mid afternoon wing if you can so 5 hem between 12-5 pm that's when you're body is producing the most lh.

Ooh nice scan pic Feef! How far along are you now?

Can't believe you're 15 weeks already stark. Another month and you'll be halfway there!

SkyLucy · 01/06/2016 22:55

I love the Gollum reference there starky!! Awesome. Kwick - thanks for the TWW tips! Interested in the 'no baths' advice...I would rather eat wasps than give up my daily baths! Do you know what the rationale for that is?

WingingIt83 · 01/06/2016 23:08

starky yeah I've read thats the best time but I don't get home until 7 and not sure about the logistics of doing it in the toilets at work?! How does everyone else manage it?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 02/06/2016 00:02

Use the opk packet as a wee catcher wing dip and dispose! Pop the developing opk in a mini zip lock bag or some such and wait ten mins to see result.

kath it's so odd, I've got the 20 week scan date and my mum's started buying stuff, I'm still getting my head round it!

sky honestly it was so weird, I chat shit to myself a lot of the time but referring to another unseen being as it were, was a bit surreal!

KatOnATinRo0f · 02/06/2016 07:57

Nooooooooooo.... I have woken up to an abundance of ewcm (sorry tmi) today. Actually the first time I've noticed it. It's all stringy and everything sorry for making you gag but no time to dtd . I tried to lull DH with w proposition of "if we have sex quickly now how quick can you be as I have to leave for work in three minutes ?... Which didn't work.

I'm at with all day then going straight from work up to Midlands for conference not back until late sat night. There goes my egg this month :(

Kathrino · 02/06/2016 08:01

Oh Kat, what a bugger :(

I got a whiter than white BFN this morning on a FRER at 14 DPO. The fact that I've tested inevitably means AF will turn up this afternoon.

KatOnATinRo0f · 02/06/2016 08:09

Oh dear Kath :( you're not out till you're out but I know how u feel.

Slightly tempted to go home after work for a quickie ... But I will leave work about 6... Have to drive a good half an hour in the opposite direction to where I'm going later on... So I guess won't leave till 7 at the very earliest and you know what it's like when u get home I'll probably end up cooking or faffing...so won't get to my hotel until maybe 10-10.30. (Course isn't until tomorrow morning but that's v late to be arriving for me)

Also... Effort.... Wwyd?

Kathrino · 02/06/2016 08:27

Is DH amenable to a quickie later? If so, I would be tempted especially if the alternative is sitting in a hotel room feeling pissed off about missing ovulation. But totally take the point re effort. After 7 months, I'm starting to wonder what the point is.

SuchaJem · 02/06/2016 08:59

Congrats feef lovely pic, thanks for sharing and glad all going well

Kat know what you mean. Every week is a milestone for pregnancy it seems - whereas ttc counted in months. If only we had more than one shot a month HmmSad can your oh be persuaded to join you at your hotel this evening...? If not I'd defo go home for a quickie. I'd regret not doing it for rest of cycle if I didn't.

Feeling really low about it all at the moment. Never thought I'd be trooping into month 6. So very tired of the loop of hope and disappointment.

Will snap out of it but Sad ugh ttc sucks.

bluebird3 · 02/06/2016 09:00

I would probably pop back home for a quickie kat. But I know what you mean about effort. It's hard to feel like you've lost a whole month and the wait for the next fw is agonising. This is my last month Ttc then we have to take 3 months off as my dsis is getting married abroad next May. I'm the m of h and if I get upduffed in the next 3 cycles I'd have to miss it. I'm so frustrated after such a log time trying to have to stop. Sad

WingingIt83 · 02/06/2016 09:44

kat I'd definitely pop home, it's not that late to be getting to your hotel at 10.30ish as you'll feel more relaxed anyway having been able to dtd rather than being annoyed.

After yesterday's failure we did it at 5.45 this morning before dh went to work! Needs must and all that! Consequently feeling less worried now, especially as still no EWCM (and I did have some last cycle) so hoping we can keep this up for another couple of days.

starky interesting tip re opking at work, I might have to try that next month although i can see aiming into the packet might get messy!

SkyLucy · 02/06/2016 10:35

Ah Sucha, I know how you feel. AF is due in a couple of days and I can feel her marching towards me (I'm going to a wedding on Sat, so she's guaranteed...no pale skirt for me!!). So, helloooo cycle 6. I'm off to the GP next week (for another reason) and might just flag that it's not as easy as I'd hoped...I'm sure she won't take any notice until I've been trying for a year (sigh) but I'm interested to see what she advises - I'm not one for temping/charting/POAS etc. but I think I'll have to start, so I have lots of info/ammunition if I need to go back in six months Sad

Hope you feel cheerier soon....I'm clinging to the fact that once it happens, we'll all forget the pain/worry of the TTC period, no matter how protracted!

Kathrino · 02/06/2016 10:54

Has anyone had a useful experience going to a GP after 6 months (presuming they're also under 35)? It's so hard to get an appointment at ours and not sure if it's worth it just to get told to go away and keep trying :/

WingingIt83 · 02/06/2016 11:05

I know that ladies Ttc are always feeling like they are surrounded by babies/pregnant but the last 12 hours have been really ramming it in.
Firstly yesterday at work my no. 2 told me she's pregnant -completely unplanned and unexpected (she's 39 and had never really been in that place), then on radio on way home they do a feature on ectopic pregnancies, then on radio this morning there was a fertility doctor on talking about her work and just now been sent pic of sis-in-law's 12 wk scan!

Trying to keep my head in a relaxed and not-thinking-about-it state isn't easy!

WingingIt83 · 02/06/2016 11:38

kathrino this may be considered wrong by some but if you are concerned that there's a problem why not just tell your gp you've been trying for longer than you have?
