Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

Jem no! Not tww for me, just coming into ISW ... Ovia says CD7. Think I will try to put more of an effort in this month.

KatOnATinRo0f · 31/05/2016 19:41

Peaches yeah the only time I went to Glasgow it was bloody freezing. I'm down on the south coast so we normally don't have it too bad compared to you guys.. Glad you've had a sunny day for a change. But I'd like my weather back now please

Peaches8Posies · 31/05/2016 20:09

kat give us a couple of days and once the sunburn kicks in I'm sure we will be willing the sun back down to you for a wee break Wink

KatOnATinRo0f · 31/05/2016 20:40

Hahaha!! Okay... Just a faint shade of pink and then we'll take the sun back.

Peaches8Posies · 31/05/2016 20:49

Deal! Grin

Pigsbum · 31/05/2016 21:28

Peaches I'm in Glasgow too, I actually got a bit sunburnt over the weekend!

I'm due to test on 4th but not feeling it this month, I couldn't tell you why but I feel exactly the same as usual although I did cry at the end of Drop Dead Fred yesterday Hmm

SuchaJem · 31/05/2016 21:42

I am seriously obsessed with this podcast hank! The GP in law wedding was awesome thanks Smile

That pic is glorious peaches. Do you take stuff to promote gut health?

SuchaJem · 31/05/2016 21:43

Loving the knicker strategy! Need to up my pants game

Mooseville · 01/06/2016 06:45

Morning all! This TTC is getting expensive - vitamins, probiotics, new make up and new coloured pants!!
A lovely weekend here with DP, probably drank a bit too much but hey ho. Lots of DTD, although probably too early for ISW, but it was nice to reconnect and not be thinking about TTC when doing it for once. We too seem to be doing it less and less and the pressure mounts!
Should be trying to DTD over next few nights for TTC, CD 11 and usually ov on CD14 so here goes with that!
I've a busy few months ahead at work and getting upduffed will bugger up quite a few courses etc I've got booked in, but no way am I stopping trying.... I can live with delaying them for a year or two! I'm working on the maybe it'll happen when I least want it to theory????

Never been to Glasgow, but it looks much better than the grim weather down here!!!

kwick · 01/06/2016 07:20

suchajem re: toxic cosmetics - try to avoid parabens and silicones - names in photo below. I use low budget stuff and have managed to do it :)

Probotics: I think you can get powders but doesn't natural live yoghurt contain these?

Really good book out there called "Gut" - which i lent unfinished to SIL - I must get back. But top tip about using a stool Wink

Still no sign of AF....Envy

SuchaJem · 01/06/2016 08:47

Thanks kwick! Love natural yoghurt and yes that absolutely does have the good gut things in.

Moose your weekend away sounds lovely.

Just going into isw too, with a promising load of EWCM when I got up this morning. Going to be a busy few nights, then off on hols at the weekend Smile

Kathrino · 01/06/2016 09:56

Good luck for all those heading into ISW. Let's hope for some strong and happy swimmers!

I'm CD28 / 13 DPO today and zero symptoms of anything much. Pretty sure AF is going to rock up tomorrow bang on schedule.

miwelaisjacydo · 01/06/2016 10:12

Hello everyone been away for a little while xxx just wanted to say hello what have I missed?

Peaches8Posies · 01/06/2016 10:36

Another glorious day here again kat im sending happy sun vibes to you as I type Smile

pigsbum we hardly ever get it this good so it would be rude not to enjoy it Smile

kath yes to strong swimmers, and hearthy sticky eggs! We need you!

sucha long story but I had loads health issues last couple of yrs and this resulted in me being on some really strong antibiotics. I ended up with loads of other issues I just couldn't understand e.g had several bouts of tonsillitis and thrush. I stared researching this and found out loads about how your gut bacteria controlling soo much of what goes on inside your body. I took a lot of supplements to get back on track but I stopped once ttc plus they are really expensive. Im not a big dairy eater but now eat a good natural yogurt and try and have milk everyday. Low fat yogurts are horrendous when you realise what is in them! Won't buy them again. kwick most many middle eastern and Asian countries squat to poop and have very few of the issues we have with regards to digestive and bowl health. We may all have to adopt the stool at the loo approach Smile

moose Glasgow is a lovely city (not that I'm biased haha) plus the shopping is amazing!

marmitetoast1 · 01/06/2016 13:12

I can concur on gut health too! I had a really bad bout of ibs last year with other related health issues and the thing that really seemed to help me get it back under control was eating foods with lots of good bacteria for my gut - full fat natural yoghurt (low fat yoghurt is full of so many horrible things and loads of sugar!) and also homemade sauerkraut. Apparently you should try and eat different types of probiotics so not just from one type eg yoghurt. So things like sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir etc too. There's a lot of interesting research out there into it and how your gut health affects basically everything else on your body too! I saw last week actually that coop are now selling a live cultured kefir drink so it must be catching on!

Peaches8Posies · 01/06/2016 13:18

Yeh marmite definitely is. There is a lot of research at the moment about behaviour disorders being controlled through proper gut balance. So much of our food has become over processed and I think we are just starting to understand the issues. Need to try the co op kefir drink. Sauerkraut is a great source too. This being healthy malarkey is hard work Grin

Snowdog37 · 01/06/2016 13:20

Just realized I haven't been on here in ages! Missed lots so will read up later. I had my hcg trigger last night after getting a nice fat follicle on Clomid, and a bonus medium sizer that might mature in time. Having IUI tomorrow morning. Fingers and toes and everything crossed!

Rosey135 · 01/06/2016 13:22

I work in a wholefood shop so I'm always updated on the latest food trends, we have coconut kefir in the shop which I've been trying to keep up with and sauerkraut, I have bouts of ibs so try lots of things to keep my gut healthy. I've just started taking folic acid as I feel I should be doing something and I've cut down on drinking except for my birthday week before last.

I've been trying to keep things regular with my OH as apparently that helps keep healthy swimmers and I want us to feel like close and it not just be about ttc but that's not always easy especially as I feel way more horny when I'm fertile (makes sense)

Kathrino · 01/06/2016 13:32

I read a really interesting article in the NY Times a couple of years ago about the importance of gut health particularly for those with auto immune and/or inflammatory conditions. I'd guess that also links to TTC. Must stock up on probiotics!

Good to see you snowdog and lots of luck for tomorrow, I hope it all goes to plan!

I've reached the point in the day when I'm really bored at work and considering going out to Boots to buy a stick to pee on just to liven up the afternoon. Must resist temptation!

kwick · 01/06/2016 18:12

snowdoggy best of luck with IUI. Let me know if you want me to list out 2ww suggestions?

SuchaJem · 01/06/2016 18:14

Hello mi how are you? We've had lots of new joiners but not enough bfps of late! The latest grads were ni and vix I think.

Wow gut health really is important! An added complication to consider Hmm I'm losing track of all the rules! Better have a glass of Wine I reckon Halo

Snowdog37 · 01/06/2016 18:25

Yes please kwick I'll happily take any advice! All I've been told is no heavy exercise, eat well, rest well, and don't take pregnancy tests before 12dpiui as they'll be positive due to the trigger! I'm really excited about the IUI. It's that optimism you get the first time you try something new, before several failures jades you. 😜😝😖😄 dh and I have the day off tomorrow so after the IUI we will go get a (probably boozy) lunch, then enjoy an afternoon at home together.
The trigger is already causing cramps and bloating, I really hope I don't ovulate too early! He said 36+ hours is the norm.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 01/06/2016 18:31

Good luck snow got all my fingers and toes crossed for you mate!

How is everyone? Hello newbies! Sorry I've not been around much, I feel like I'm intruding! Good luck to all those going into the ISW ! Three cheers for Hugh and Doreen! Who's next to test?

kwick · 01/06/2016 18:44

starky I was just going to ask after you! Please DO NOT abandon us!!!!!

Okay so here is my list of 2ww tips - which I have stolen from here, there & everywhere!

  • never forget the power of "I am" and keep on with PMA
  • lay off milk if you upped intake for egg quality/growth
  • buy a ripe pineapple, peel and divide into 5. Eat a fifth from day of IUI, for 5 days.
  • dose up on cayenne pepper (I mix a quantity with scrambled eggs and swallow as I hate the stuff)
  • no baths until after 2ww
  • keep your feet and kidneys warm at all times
  • laugh a lot
  • get loads of rest

snowdoggy I am keeping everything crossed for you!!!

Kathrino · 01/06/2016 18:59

I've just hastily put my feet under a blanket...
