Hi ladies
I'm trying to conceive no. 2. My aim was to ttc from January of this year - however due to one thing or another (very stressful time at work!) I have not been giving it my all. I have now decided I need to focus on ttc no.2 as I am very conscious of the growing age gap! Please join for a friendly chat and to hopefully support each other!

Stats
Age - 35
Ttc - #2
CD - 21
DS - 3 years 10months!

Don't want to obsess about it! However I think it's inevitable!

Anything else happening yet penguin? Its so hard not to symptom spot, another few days till next wednesday at least before I can test.

RaRa25 · 17/06/2016 08:35

Good luck penguin, Novi, Buddha for this month. I will be ready to text next wed as well, but I might just hold off a few days, that's if AF doesn't arrive! I don't have any symptoms, but I had none last time.
novi I know what you mean about holidays. We were away staying with family in Feb and only managed to DTD twice in three weeks!
iemma it must be hard having no family around, I don't know what we would have done that first 2 years when DD rarely slept without a few nights off.

Novinosincebambino · 17/06/2016 20:57

Rara that's good to know, I think I'm weird because I only got symptoms last two pregnancies after the BFP. But I also "just knew" Hmm however I got preggo on the first attempt so lucky guess really.

FYI boots have first response early tests on two for one so I now have four sticks (there's two in a pack) waiting. Pretty sure I'm not but good to have in the cupboard.

Welcome Iemma, DSis had two under two and says its blooming hard work but worth it now when they play together so nicely. It's really about what you can cope with and still enjoy the time with them.

Penguin13 · 18/06/2016 07:48

Nope Buddha nothing to report. CD27 here so going by last cycle I have between 1 and 15 days before AF shows up Confused

Good luck Rara. Will be keeping fingers crossed for you.bi actually nearly did go insane with DDs sleep. Think breaking point was 14 months in when I realised I hadn't had a full night's sleep since before she was born! Cue booking a weekend away alone for the sole purpose of rest and sleeeeeep!

I suddenly realised DH's 3 lots of daily heart meds could possibly have an effect on his sperm. He wasn't on anything last time we conceived as the episode which got him back in the system and being followed up was when I was about 4 months PG with DD1. Having checked there are no listed side effects TTC wise for men but I can't help but wonder. He's also going to ask his specialist consultant so hopefully that will put my mind at rest.

Buddahbelly · 18/06/2016 08:45

novino now you mention it apart from slightly tingly boobs last time I had no symptoms and even went for an internal scan at 7 weeks to see if i was still pregnant. I had forgotten all about that until you reminded me.

So no symptoms are maybe a good thing. did have some cramping a few days ago so thought it may be af arriving early, but now nothing. Im due on on wednesday and not even raiding the cupboards for chocolate yet, usually am by now.

RaRa25 · 18/06/2016 08:54

Morning all!
Ok, I said I would be relaxed this month but... I am getting paranoid about possible early symptoms. Boobs feel bigger, nose bleed this morning, never get them, I'm convinced my sense of smell is different! AF not due till next Thursday so surely it is way too early to get these symptoms!!
Next few days are going to drag...

Novinosincebambino · 18/06/2016 10:15

Rara that's really exciting! Fingers crossed for you. You could test on Monday/Tuesday maybe? Did you know that first response tests for 6.5 of hcg? I've always used clear blue digital and that's 50!

Buddha I think you might be right? I'm going to the loo every 5 minutes but it's probably just the UTI.

I almost feel like I need to 'give up' to actually have any success iykwim. I'm obsessing and getting stressed and I'm sure there's a mental aspect to conceiving. Ah who knows! Just thinking out loud.

Novinosincebambino · 18/06/2016 10:45

Penguin you are definitely doing the right thing chatting to consultant. I went with DH to put his mind at rest that my blood issues wouldn't nearly kill me this time (long story) and he was reassured so we got cracking. One less stress is a good thing!

PurpleRibbons · 18/06/2016 12:23

Hi everyone, sorry had a crazy busy week at work so been awol from the thread.
Penguin I don't abstain from alcohol but I don't drink much anyway. I had ons beer last night and probably won't have anything else this weekend.
I keep feeling very sick. I don't know if that is a symptom or if it's a side effect of a very stressful week and not sleeping well. I'm very tired too but again that could be down to lack of sleep. Guess I'll find out in a few days!

Penguin13 · 18/06/2016 18:58

Ooh. Allowing myself to get a little bit excited on other people's behalf as I am so clearly out this month. No pressure Grin Some positive sounding symptoms if you ask me.

Buddahbelly · 19/06/2016 07:36

I dont have any symptoms as such but did have to have a nap yesterday whilst ds was out with mil. Thought I would be able to get some housework done but soon as i started I felt very dizzy and lightheaded so went to bed and found myself waking up nearly 2 hours later.

Also been drinking so much more than usual, my mouth is really dry all the time. Trying to focus on ds's birthday next week and get things ready for his party, anything to take my mind of doing a bloody test yet! fingers crossed for us all taking tests this week.

Novinosincebambino · 19/06/2016 08:45

Sounds promising Buddha! Glad you have something to take your mind off it for a few days. I have sore boobs today but then realised I went back to the gym yesterday and was doing chest presses. Pretty sure that's why they felt fuller last month too. Getting UTI test results from docs tomorrow so going to test in the morning just in case I can't take certain antibiotics. Best to rule it out I suppose.

PurpleRibbons · 19/06/2016 09:26

Sounds promising!
I have woken up with a large, painful spot; always a sign my period is on it's way so I'm not getting excited about the tiredness and nausea, reckon it's just stress.

Heatherbell1978 · 19/06/2016 18:26

I posted end of last month saying I had just started TTC #2 (I'm 38). Well first month trying.....BFP!! In a bit of shock....happened first time round last time too... (DS1 22 months). Fingers crossed it progresses (had a MMC before DS). Right, 2 kids eh....Shock

PurpleRibbons · 19/06/2016 19:30

Congratulations Heather! Great news.
I am contemplating POAS, 2 days until I'm due on but DH thinks I am due to nausea and strange appetite. Am I wasting my time doing a test now?

jennymac31 · 19/06/2016 19:45

Congratulations Heather!

Decided to take the plunge and ordered a basel body temperature thermometer and ovulation sticks from Amazon in preparation for next fertile window that is due to start next week. Started using Fertilitycheck lube towards the end of my fertile window a few weeks back so will definitely be using it every time we do the BD. Fingers cross this month will be one!

Hope you're all doing well xx

Umblubblub · 19/06/2016 19:47

Congratulations Heather, great news! Purple, I'm in the same boat as you, AF due in 2 days. Have spent a fortune on pt's in the last year ttc so really trying to be patient. It's our first month ttc again after a MC in April. I'm feeling really tired, sore boobs and s bit nauseous, but don't want to get my hopes up. Took us a year to get our bfp last time, so it would be a miracle to get it in the first month!
Good luck to all of you still waiting. Xx

Novinosincebambino · 19/06/2016 20:28

Congratulations Heather! look after yourself and keep us posted. So thats 3 BFPs on this thread? Purple and Umblub you guys could add to the tally. Very exciting! I think my AF is due, my DH has been particularly aggravating. I swear I'm usually quite a timid person but today he has been lucky to keep his head. Shock

RaRa25 · 19/06/2016 21:51

Congrats heather great news!
Waiting, waiting, waiting... Come on novin, purple and umblub...we can do it!
Sounds like you are all prepared jenny never heard of fertilitycheck lube!

jennymac31 · 19/06/2016 23:09

Rara - fertile-check lubricant is similar to preseed & conceive first. I bought it from boots and might buy the sperm test pack by the same brand, as dd is intrigued to see whether he has a 'normal' sperm count!

Penguin13 · 20/06/2016 06:25

Congratulations Heather. Lovely news Smile

Still symptomless and CD29 here. Dreamed that I had a BFP but not sure that counts Grin

Come on all the 2ww ers. Keeping my fingers crossed for you all.

Penguin13 · 20/06/2016 07:53

Aaaaaaand the witch showed up today. Bum. At least I know my instincts are spot on! Ah well, hardly a surprise. Onwards and upwards to the next cycle.

On the positive side my cycle was a much more normal length - textbook in fact at 28 days.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of you still.

Letsgetreadytorumbleagain · 20/06/2016 08:33

I got my BfP this morning - 11dpo. No real symptoms - I just knew!

Congrats Heather

Good luck everyone else

Penguin13 · 20/06/2016 08:56

Congratulations Let's. Lovely news! This is a lucky thread it seems Smile

Buddahbelly · 20/06/2016 10:32

Congrats lets Hope its a lucky thread for the rest of us, I've had a headache for 3 days straight now, no other symptoms than headache and tiredness. was in bed at 9 last night and up at half 4. Same as last time with ds I struggled to stay in bed past 5am.

May have to sneak a test in when i go shopping in a bit, dont think I can wait a few more days
