Hi ladies
I'm trying to conceive no. 2. My aim was to ttc from January of this year - however due to one thing or another (very stressful time at work!) I have not been giving it my all. I have now decided I need to focus on ttc no.2 as I am very conscious of the growing age gap! Please join for a friendly chat and to hopefully support each other!

Stats
Age - 35
Ttc - #2
CD - 21
DS - 3 years 10months!

Don't want to obsess about it! However I think it's inevitable!

Jess we're on holiday for 2 weeks so hopefully that will make things easier Smile despite 2 year old!

Penguin13 · 02/06/2016 17:28

Welcome Buddha. Take a pew. I have got on with the really bloody expensive fancy CB digital ov sticks but I didn't use them for long and they seem to have got even more expensive so interested to see what other folks are using. Have struggled with the logistics of using regular ov sticks as we have one shared toilet at work and you're meant to test in the pm right?

I tried temping this month but kept forgetting as I was so bloody knackered with DD1 waking and the temps seemed to vary wildly so have given up for now.

Jess it would be a herculean effort if we were to manage every other day. I comfort myself with the fact that last time I conceived DH had been away the whole week and we managed the deed precisely once Grin

RememberToSmile1980 · 02/06/2016 17:53

Welcome Buddha
Sorry to hear of your losses. I'm in a similar position to you as my DS is also going to be 4 in July. I have used internet cheapies so far - however I have only been using them in the last month or two. I have never tested twice a day - however having researched you're meant to test more than once in the PM. Best of luck.

Hi- also 36 and also 3.5yo DS1. Just like you, letsgetready . Just ditched condoms . Last time it happened on 2nd month which seems improbable now. Hated every second of pregnancy so am bracing for it!

RememberToSmile1980 · 02/06/2016 21:29

Hi Sienetta
I've only ever used condoms - last time it only took the once. I'm hoping it will not take too long this time either. But! I am older now and also need to lose some extra weight that I've put on!

Thanks for the tips, I've ordered some cheapy ones from ebay, I had no idea you had to test at night more than once... can see how this becomes obsessive!

RaRa25 · 03/06/2016 07:30

Welcome to all the newbies.
So sorry to hear about all the MC, brings it home how lucky I have been up till now.
I didn't know you had to test at night, rubish at reading instructions! I used the digital ones last month, I quite liked getting the flashing smiley face!
I have 4 left and not going to buy any for this month, taking the Jesus! Come on, come on! relaxed approachGrin.

Novinosincebambino · 03/06/2016 10:15

I knew about the 10am to 8pm testing time but why test twice in a day? Confused

jessplussomeonenew · 03/06/2016 13:52

I think the reason for testing twice is that the surge can be quite short-lived so if you just test once there's a risk of missing it. Never an issue for me so I just stuck to once a day.

Cheby · 03/06/2016 14:12

Hello. Can I join you all? I'm 35, TTC number 2. I'm currently 8 days late (cycle day 36) but with negative tests. I am a bit ashamed to admit that going out of my mind overthinking it all.
Had a blood test done on Tuesday but the bastard results aren't back so now I have to wait until Monday at least.

I have never had a period this late before, I've had lots of mild cramping and can express a tiny bit of colostrum. But not even a hint of a line on the various tests.

I know the most likely thing is that I'm not pregnant, but I'm so so worried about why my period is so late. Any advice on how to calm down?

Cheby · 03/06/2016 19:11

Actually, think I've found the reason my period is late. Going to start a new thread. X

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 03/06/2016 19:47

Buddah - this was our first proper month TTC and I used the clear blue ov stick (not the fancy dual hormone ones, just the bog standard pink ones).

I was actually a bit slack using them, so actually used the first on the afternoon of CD12. Tested again morning of CD13 and DTD CD13 & CD14.

I actually thought we'd missed it this month as was getting some serious ov pains on CD13 before we'd DTD.

However, I am now pregnant! 😄 Very lucky I know, but goes to show how good these ov sticks are!

I am now officially late today (15DPO) and got a lovely strong line super quick this evening!

Novinosincebambino · 04/06/2016 13:36

Thanks ladies, I feel a bit uneducated about these things sometimes!

jennymac31 · 04/06/2016 14:10

Congratulations ifatfirstyoudontsucced!

I've been doing the baby dance this week and started getting stomach cramps that suggest I'm ovulating so fingers crossed the dancing will have created baby no 2.

Just dreading the tww!

PurpleRibbons · 05/06/2016 19:11

I don't know what is going on with my cycles, they are 28 days but I'm convinced I'm ovulating on about day 11 or 12. Yesterday I had EWCM but only a but and today it has vanished. I've had a few twinges of ov pain yesterday and today. Last DTD on Friday night and will do so again tonight but worried I might have missed the moment again. I conceived DD in June though so hoping it's a lucky month for me!

Buddahbelly · 06/06/2016 19:57

Congrats ifatfirst, So very jealous. My ov tests from ebay arrived on saturday so been testing twice a day, Dtd last night and plan on tonight too so fingers crossed, its just the waiting game now I suppose...Again!

It doesn't help that I make Baby bedding and nursery items and have people email me constantly pictures of their nurseries asking for advice of what colours to go for... I want to be decorating a nursery! But I've had lots of glimpses so know exactly what i'm going to do when the time comes. Were even getting the spare room plastered next week in preparation for a little person moving in their Smile

Novinosincebambino · 08/06/2016 10:46

Anything happening out there? My whole being on holiday theory has been a bust. 2 YO DD. Not sleeping well in the cot so have only managed to DTD twice! Looks like it might be into July for me. Still can't take advantage of the all inclusive drink just in case - grrrr!

RaRa25 · 08/06/2016 14:31

I'm still here!
Finding it difficult not to use opk but am determind to chill. Think OD due in the next few days so need to focus on regular DTD. Not going to test befor AF is due this time either.
DD has been an angel lately and just keep thinking do I really want to go back to the baby phase and no sleep! But I really don't want an only child either.
My philosophy at the moment is if it's meant to be, it's meant to be, whichever way it goes!

Umblubblub · 08/06/2016 15:02

Hi ladies, can I join you?
Age 39
TTC #2
DS 4 1/2

Hello everyone, sorry to hear about those of you who've had losses. TTC for a year, gotpregnant in Feb but never made it past 6 weeks and had surgery. (second MMC in a row)
Worried the age gap will be too big, and that I won't be able to conceive again, but trying to think positive!

jessplussomeonenew · 08/06/2016 16:29

Still here, still TWWing.... Welcome Um, sorry to hear about your MMCs. Fingers crossed this will be your month!

Novinosincebambino · 08/06/2016 17:25

Welcome umblub sorry you've suffered MC too. Hopefully you'll have the good news you deserve soon and try not to worry about the age gap. My friend has a 5 year gap and says it's a god send cause her ds1 is at school and she can concentrate on the newborn.

Rara and Jess sounds like things are going in the right direction for you both. Hope to hear good news from lots of you soon. I can't (shouldn't) test till the 22nd so just got to cross my fingers and hope 3 times (long afternoon nap!) is a charm.

Buddahbelly · 08/06/2016 17:49

Hi umblub sorry to hear about your losses, I wouldn't worry about the age gap either. My friend had her first at 39 and is now onto her second at 43.

She says its bliss as her dd is in pre school so gets to come home each day and chill out with her new ds the way she did first time round, rather than referee between 2 young children. I don't have to test until the end of the month, so i'm going to do it on the 27th which is ds's birthday, may get an extra surprise that day!

Im trying to get the house decorated again though as when I was pregnant with ds a few years ago we'd just bought our house and had renovated it. The day before I went into labour I was stripping wallpaper in the hall.... it didn't get decorated until after his 1st birthday! Im not going through that again Grin

Umblubblub · 08/06/2016 18:37

Novino and Buddah thanks for the reassurance about the gap. DS starts school in September, so I can see how that will make my life easier if we're lucky enough to succeed.
We're starting a full house renovation too next month, hoping that I'll be so busy with that I won't obsess about getting that BFP!
Good luck to you all this month. Xx

Spindelina · 09/06/2016 07:17

I'm quite reassured that there are so many of us here with school starters. In RL, the not-so-subtle questions about possible DC2 have tailed off - people are starting to assume that we intend to stop at one.

jennymac31 · 09/06/2016 11:03

Morning all

Definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed but the fact dd decided to wake up an hour earlier than usual did not help. Feeling quite pants today. Af is due in a week and am convinced that it's on its way. Getting the usual cramps, back ache and dizzy spells which seem to be common for both pregnancy and period. It's only my second month of ttcing so I need to snap out of my mood!
