RememberToSmile1980 · 16/05/2016 06:11

Hi ladies
I'm trying to conceive no. 2. My aim was to ttc from January of this year - however due to one thing or another (very stressful time at work!) I have not been giving it my all. I have now decided I need to focus on ttc no.2 as I am very conscious of the growing age gap! Please join for a friendly chat and to hopefully support each other!

Stats
Age - 35
Ttc - #2
CD - 21
DS - 3 years 10months!

Don't want to obsess about it! However I think it's inevitable!

Just sent you a message penguin, thank you.

I only have another month at this practice before I can move, this is the same doctor who diagnosed my meningitis as a migraine and told me to go home and get some sleep - Only that my dp & mum are both fusspot's, wouldn't have that it was a migraine and called for a 2nd opinion, I'm still here to tell the tale.

flutterworc · 24/07/2016 11:27

Buddha - so sorry to hear what a rough time you've had. I too am plagued by lovey friends who get knocked up quicker than a drunken teenager - one of my besties is going on hols in Aug and will almost certainly catch on the second her plane lands and I'll have to do my best happy face.

We're also owners of the Golden Grandchild. DH's elder brother has been married 20 yrs and wife is nearing 50, so seems unlikely they're going to pop one out now, and my DSis doesn't want them. Add to this equation slightly overgenerous GPs and I fear we have a recipe for disaster. Add into that it took 8yrs for him... Confused

jennymac31 · 24/07/2016 21:41

Evening ladies. Hope you are all well. Had a few drinks last night at my friends hen do and had a nice time. FW due to start in a couple of days so did a practice run of the bd just in case I might have ovulated early (stomach cramping/flutterings and ewcm has arrived a bit earlier than usual). Forgot to take my body temperature today so need to get into habit of doing that in order to track my ovulation. Hopefully we'll get some more bfps in the next few weeks xx

zahaziland · 25/07/2016 16:18

hi all, sorry I have been incommunicado lately. for some reason, this thread was no longer on my "threads I'm on" list...
Nothing really to report on my side, been busy with work, DH was away during this month's FW, which really annoyed/upset me. I know it's ridiculous, it's just one month, but it seems like that's another month gone..
Good news is that on Wednesday we're off on holiday! Yay!
I'm going to go back and catch up with all the latest news.

zahaziland · 25/07/2016 16:21

buddah, sorry to reply so late, but it sounds like you've been through a lot; it can be really tough sometimes Flowers

SendTheNextOneIn · 26/07/2016 18:33

How's everyone doing?

I'm still waiting for AF to get into full flow. I'm counting today as CD1, although it's been spotting for a couple of days now. It's ridiculously light. I'm guessing due to the coil coming out (I had a copper one, so that can make your periods heavier). Ovulation window looks like it'll be next week, which is good as I'll be back from my weekend away.

Hope you're all ok!

RaRa25 · 26/07/2016 19:04

Hi all.
Well I'm due to ovulate on Fri/sat, so basically this is my 'get on it week!' Lucky DH!

tinkwastaken · 27/07/2016 08:51

Hi all, just thought I'd update. Had 12 week scan yesterday and everything looks great. So happy to see there have been a few more BFPs. Good luck to everyone else x

RaRa25 · 27/07/2016 09:13

Great news tink so happy for you.
Well I don't know about anybody else, but I deserve a gold star for all my efforts this week so far, and it's only bloody Wednesday! I hope I get to swap my gold star for a BFN in a few weeks though.

Penguin13 · 27/07/2016 09:34

Ah, congratulations Tink thanks for coming back and sharing your lovely news. Hope you are feeling well Smile

BestBeastie · 27/07/2016 13:12

Hello! Sorry I've gone quiet - on holiday with DS during their nursery break. We are off to the cinema.

Cd21 here - will test at cd26 if by lucky chance my period hasn't come before! AF has scuppered all testing by coming early before

My dash as DS getting annoyed at me for being on the phone.

Good luck everyone Dtd!!!

BestBeastie · 27/07/2016 13:32

Oh and I've got the first cold of the year - which I've managed to count as a 'symptom' in my twisted ttc mind.

Also blue veiny Boobs - mind you, don't think I've ever scrutinised them before so might always be there.

Can't believe I'm 'symptom spotting' again. Do I never learn?!

DS is currently staring - mouth half open - at the cinema screen. And it's just the adverts. Blimey.

SendTheNextOneIn · 27/07/2016 21:36

I did another pregnancy test this evening as this 'period' I am having is the most ridiculously light period ever, and I was starting to wonder if it was actually a proper period at all. Unfortunately it would appear so, as the test said no! 😂 I am officially obsessed already.

BestBeastie · 27/07/2016 22:26

Send - I'd be the same. And fwiw I would advise testing again on fmu if it remains odd. Why not eh. But if not I am sure your body is just stabilising - not that this helps really as I know! It's very annoying. But stranger things have happened on here - you never know about the bfp!!!

I'm starting to get tetchy about AF. Can handle not being pregnant -I 99% know I'm not as I knew from such an early stage with DS.

But I'm going to feel really glum if I get another short cycle.

I think I got to problem tho. I've been o'ding on vitamin e. Since Feb. Taking a ton of supplements each day - has well over the Rec dose - plus I've survived on drinking tons of almond milk (went dairy free) which has added vit e.

Have stopped obviously but it's fat stored so might take a while to leave my system. Feel stupid, but it pretty much exactly coincided with my odd cycles so it's the only thing that seens to make sense at moment.

RaRa25 · 28/07/2016 08:02

send I am exactly the same, I have one test in the house and I am determind not to test until my period is late this time - easier said than done though!
best I have no knowledge on vitamins but taking more than you should could have had an effect on AF, bit of a coincidence. Hope you have a normal cycle this time. Mine was crazy last month, odd bleeding mid cycle then a period that lasted ages.
Positive vibes for some BFP's over the next few weeks.

jennymac31 · 28/07/2016 08:51

Morning all.
Have been rubbish at remembering to take my bbt but am pretty sure I'm ovulating; Ovio app says I'm in my fertile week and have been having the usual stomach cramps, back ache, nausea and ewcm. Unfortunately I'm getting quite fed up with ttcing and am contemplating forgetting about the whole thing, even though this is only my 4the cycle. My heart just doesn't seem to be in it at the moment. Apologies for the pessimistic post.

Spindelina · 28/07/2016 09:18

Congratulations, tink.

Send and best, it's all a bit messy and imprecise, isn't it?

I'm on CD 20. I am not good at TWWing. I haven't had massive symptoms in either of my previous pregnancies, so I really am waiting. So impatient! RaRa I also have one test in the house - the second CB digital from the pack I bought in Feb - so I'm determined not to waste it on early testing.

BestBeastie · 28/07/2016 11:46

Ooo crossing fingers we end up testing together spindelina

jenny I have days like that (too many). I think I may submit myself to the shag every other day school of conception cos I wonder whether the poas ov stuff just winds me up. I kinda feel that I want to know what's going on tho. Hmmm

Hoping your gold star comes through this month rara

BestBeastie · 29/07/2016 19:55

Interesting rara - I have to say my experience at the fertility clinic was pretty much like a call from PPI.

Ranty, grumpy, crampy, and very snappy here. So I suspect that, although I am pleased I haven't had a 22 day period, I suspect that AF will arrive tomorrow or Sunday to ruin my weekend on another short cycle.

Have not only been without alcohol and caffeine (ok - apart from green tea, which is very low) - I have given up exercise for a week. I feel fat, bloated, and generally below par. Really fed up, particularly when it's all going to be for nothing.

Hope the rest of you are having a good friday night! I promise I'll cheer up soon as I get AF arriving and I move on.

BestBeastie · 29/07/2016 19:57

moan moan moan - sorry.

Things to be happy about: DS is enjoying his holiday from nursery and I am enjoying spending time with him. I haven't really experienced this solo since mat leave ended at 1yo and it's pretty cool.

RaRa25 · 29/07/2016 20:34

Moan away best that's what we are here for. You have done well on the caffeine and alcohol front, can't say the same for myself!

I have been feeling really positive the last few days, on CD 14 and have DTD lots. But today here comes tmi sorryI have had a bit of brown discharge so hoping this cycle does not turn out like last month. Now I feel all pessimistic again.
Going to do some retail therapy tomorrow. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Buddahbelly · 30/07/2016 09:55

Can I join in with the moaning.... 2 more people announced their pregnancies this week within 2 days of each other! I'm finding it harder and harder to put on a smile for them and act all pleased.

And then of course you get them turning around and asking when you're going to have another one, took all my strength not to throw a drink at them! (I found out 1 of them had even lied to the doctor saying she was having trouble conceiving just to get on fertility drugs to try and have twins Shock ) She is a family friend of dp's so luckily I don't have to see her all the time, may not be able to bite my tongue!

I've decided to have a break this month just to get back to normal, I'm been testing all week and still not ovulated so think it may be my bodies way of getting back to normal. off to a wedding today anyway where i plan to drink lots of free prosecco.

Chin up you lot, have a moan and take some time for yourselves, long bath, child free time if you can, just lay still and do nothing but watch crap tv with a facemask on - always helps me feel normal again!

BestBeastie · 31/07/2016 08:33

Hey buddah - good advice. Took myself off to the cinema yesterday. A good time out from it all.

Got a sneaky test in on the morning tiday - cd25. Inevitable bfn - probably the clearest negative I've seen trying to ignore that id been up peeing in the night I expect AF today (as I had my pre af insomnia last night) and know I'm going to be grumpy about it. Ho hum.

jessplussomeonenew · 31/07/2016 11:02

Feeling a bit in limbo here as completely missed this cycle's ttc window due to illness, seems ages before next time. Have however booked a doctor's appointment to get a bit of preconception counselling as I had HELLP last time. Fingers crossed for those in with a chance this month!
