Aged 35 or over TTC #2?

RememberToSmile1980 · 16/05/2016 06:11

Hi ladies
I'm trying to conceive no. 2. My aim was to ttc from January of this year - however due to one thing or another (very stressful time at work!) I have not been giving it my all. I have now decided I need to focus on ttc no.2 as I am very conscious of the growing age gap! Please join for a friendly chat and to hopefully support each other!

Stats
Age - 35
Ttc - #2
CD - 21
DS - 3 years 10months!

Don't want to obsess about it! However I think it's inevitable!

My cramps are hitting me on a more regular basis this morning so I suspect AF will be here soon, which is poo pants but there you go. Keeping fingers crossed for everyone else xx

BestBeastie · 11/07/2016 18:26

oh rara that is a real bastard - cd14 is stupid - no need for that at all! I am sure that's just a blip, but know that isn't much comfort at the moment. I've likewise been obsessively googling short cycles, but 14 days is very extreme so no wonder you're concerned/annoyed. Don't do what I do though and swallow Dr Google's advice whole:. I'm sure or I'm hoping that I've caused a few of my issues by self medicating on stuff that sends my system even further into space.

Jenny...any news!!! Now I'm completely out for another three weeks I've decided I'm going to act like an aged aunt towards people who are in the position of potential success. Someone give me a FRER test to satisfy my busybody-ness!!!

RaRa25 · 11/07/2016 18:57

Thanks best it has stopped now, so wondering if it could be a heavy implantation bleed. That seems a bit too good to be true, I'll just have to wait and see and eat loads of chocolate.

jennymac31 · 11/07/2016 19:19

Nothing to report bestbeastie but still got another 2 days before AF is due. Have got a FRER in the cupboard but fighting the urge to use it.

Almost feel like I'm making the symptoms occur by just thinking about them e.g. I'll suddenly realise I haven't felt any stomach cramps for a while and then all of a sudden they'll start again!

Good old mother nature playing tricks with my head!

SnugglySnerd · 11/07/2016 19:19

Fingers crossed Rara. I'm not sure I have worked especially hard this month due to bring away with work at crucial time, time will tell...

Novinosincebambino · 11/07/2016 21:14

Fingers crossed for you Rara (enjoy that chocolate), Jenny (how are you managing to resist testing?? you have much more will power than me) and Snuggly (bought your namesake book the other day and DD loves it - another great recommendation). Hoping for more BFPs soon.

I have to keep at it until the 16th/17th and then it will be the tww for me. Feeling these kind of pulling twinges and cramps so just got to keep going till DH locks himself in the bathroom and sleeps in the tub to avoid me Grin

jennymac31 · 11/07/2016 22:32

Novinosincebambino - With great difficulty! The last couple of times I've taken tests before my AF was due have come back negative so I'm determined to wait until it's due on Wednesday. Hopefully I'll be able to hold out until the weekend to take the test if AF doesn't arrive.

Buddahbelly · 12/07/2016 20:08

Hi all, sorry for the absence, will ready the bits i've missed in a sec. Rara whats goin on 14 days? some kind of record, fingers crossed for the implantation bleed for you theory.

Had a few days of cramps but now nothing, I keep thinking im feeling tender breasts but possibly could be all in my head, another week before I can test properly and i'm determined to wait, so getting my head stuck into work before the summer hols start.

I'm desperate to be pregnant before he starts school, am going to make it my mission if i've missed this month. Will tell dp he needs to up his game now too!

RaRa25 · 12/07/2016 20:27

A little update - no more bleeding since yesterday afternoon, very odd!! Trying not to get my hopes up. I know how you feel buddah AF not due till Monday hope I don't cave in.

Buddahbelly · 12/07/2016 20:47

I think I'm not due till next wednesday, will have to check my phone but its upstairs and i'm too lazy to go get it, had a horrible cold yesterday, couldn't stop sneezing, But i have a 4yr old so always getting colds. I did wake up fine today though.

Trying my best not to google symptoms and get worked up. Its easier this time as I have so much going on, fil and my stepdad both in hospital so constantly visiting them both or looking after ds. doing me good to stop symptom spotting!

Novinosincebambino · 12/07/2016 21:00

Good news its stopped Rara and hope there's more good news to come for you and everyone else. Jenny well done keeping away from the tests!

Sorry to hear you have been back and forth to the hospital too Buddah I hope things get better and those symptoms are real.

Can't wait to hear all your news. 4 so far, lets make it many more!

Penguin13 · 13/07/2016 07:11

Morning all. Exciting times Rara! Sounding really positive Smile Good luck!!!

jenny keeping my fingers crossed for you. not long to wait till test day. I must say you have way more willpower than me!

As usual nothing to report here. Roughly week and a half till AF due. Think I missed ov this month as we had a 2 day DTD gap right around when I should have been oving. No symptoms apart from being REALLY hungry but think that is likely down to being back on My Fitness Pal not that I am sticking to the daily calorie allowance Oh well at least if I get to next month I can use my CB digital. Every cloud Hmm

jennymac31 · 13/07/2016 08:13

Well AF is due today and I'm still cramping and there's a slightly brown tinge when I wipe down-below so I think it may be on its way but we shall see.

jennymac31 · 13/07/2016 10:42

The witch has arrived! I am gutted but on the plus side it means I can have a few drinks at my friends hen do next weekend. It's her wedding at the end of August so it may not be a bad thing if I fall pregnant after then. Hope you ladies are doing well xx

SnugglySnerd · 13/07/2016 16:09

Bad luck Jenny bur good that you've found a silver lining!

Novinosincebambino · 13/07/2016 16:48

Sorry to hear that Jenny but it does help when you have something nice to look forward to, that was me last month with my holiday. Crossing fingers for next month.

Penguin13 · 13/07/2016 19:38

Sorry to hear that Jenny it never a nice feeling but glad you managed to find an upside - you will be able to indulge guilt free.

How are you doing Rara? No pressure or anything but as I'm also convinced I'm out the thread hopes are resting on you Grin

RaRa25 · 13/07/2016 20:27

Rubbish jenny but alchohol always helps!
pengun you never know, all it takes is one strong swimmer Grin
So still no bleeding, but definitely have period like symptoms especially on the left side. . . Watch this space.

Novinosincebambino · 13/07/2016 21:10

I think Buddha and Snuggly are still in the race and Penguin you aren't out till the witch shows up. Come on Rara! We are all rooting for you.

I am in my fw and I thought you are supposed to look more appealing to your partner - I look like a bloody teenager! (spotty not youthful). Looks like it will be lights off tonight Wink

Penguin13 · 14/07/2016 08:04

In classic 2ww territory over here flipping between being wholly convinced I am out and over analysing possible symptoms Confused Have been experiencing the kind of desperate hunger where you feel like you might faint or expire or hit someone if you don't have something to eat within the next five minutes? I have had it at other times but most notably during the first trimester of my pregnancy with DD. I have literally no other symptoms so it's pretty tenuous and of all the PG symptoms being hungry has to be the one least exclusive to pregnancy, but it's enough to start me going crazy wondering....

How annoying about the spots Novino but I can pretty much guarantee that your DH won't be focusing on them even if it feels like all you can see especially when you take your clothes off Grin

Novinosincebambino · 14/07/2016 09:53

Definitely sounds promising penguin when is AF due again? Wednesday? I have been having weird symptoms since my period stopped and we hadn't even been DTD! So this month I'm completely ignoring all possible symptoms cause my body just does it to wind me up. Swine!

Buddahbelly · 14/07/2016 16:17

same here penguin. absolutely nothing to report here other than needing to eat everything in sight. A sure sign for me that af is on its way though, Apart from a cold at the beginning of the week which lasted a couple of days and quite a bit of cramping around the same time... But just putting this down to gas and feeling bloated cos id been eating a lot!

pretty sure im out this month so just looking forward to next month and working out dates already.

fingers crossed for everyone still waiting to test, mines on monday but doubt ill get that long before af arrives!

SendTheNextOneIn · 14/07/2016 16:29

Hi ladies,

Sorry I have been absent, lots happening in work and home life and am just bumbling through the 2ww (halfway!) so not much to report. Also same as penguin, have literally today starting symptom-spotting like mad, veering between 'nope, no way could i possibly be...' to 'oooh but what if I am...?!' It's such a mind-f*ck,is it not?!

Anyway, un-Mumsnetty hugs to those who would like them, Chocolate and Flowers all round, and hopefully we'll get a few more bfps soon...

Nutcaserugby · 14/07/2016 17:55

Hello can I join please. I am 34 TTC #1 been TTC since April when I had my cool removed. I am glad I came across this thread I thought it was me and that I was going mad obsessing about it all. Anyway i have downloaded Ovia just now so we shall see. Good luck ladies

Penguin13 · 14/07/2016 20:38

Welcome Nutcase. It's so hard not to become obsessed by it all. Hopefully you will find some good support here.

I have officially tempted fate by buying a weighted hula hoop today. Go on TTC gods. I dare you Grin

AF due on Sun but as I ovd late probably should wait a bit longer. Blatantly know I am going to cave though.

You never know Buddha. I know how it feels to be convinced you are out but let us repeat my oft chanted mantra 'you ain't out till the witch shows'.

Ah Send. Tis a mind f*ck and no mistake. Mainly back to DOOOOOOM this afternoon but sure it will change soon!
