Anyone done or doing Clomid/ovidrel/IUI?

Would love to hear from anyone taking this route ttc. I'm DOR and dh has low morphology but an amazing count and motility. So whenever af shows up in two weeks or so I'm starting Clomid, then doing a hcg trigger injection and then IUI. Hoping for success getting 2-3 good eggs to drop and putting the swimmers practically next to them!

Haha maybe! Totally willing to give it a try if I was told it would work!

Yes unassisted is a much better word for it!

Ahh that sucks but you ovulated naturally as you say so you should still be in with the same chance!

Have a great weekend everyone!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 10/07/2016 23:37

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Hooray for getting the medication Maple - it starts making it more real, doesn't it? Hope your 2ww doesn't drag....and also really hope that this will be your lucky cycle!

Hope your 2ww is going well too Star? Did you get an otd, or do they say just wait to see if af turns up? I definitely think you and Maple should do headstands after dtd - I'm sure your DHs would think you were completely sane :)

Absolutely no news from me - have had some mild cramping but usually get that anyway. Here's to hoping this week flies by Wine

Snowdog37 · 11/07/2016 14:01

So I'm 3dpiui. No symptoms. Got a bfn yesterday and my beta is tomorrow. I'm fairly sure I am out. But the zero symptoms has me thrown. Feels like I've not ovulated or something. But I must have done with a large follie and the hcg trigger?!

I'm out ladies, day 30 yesterday and I'd some spotting, did a test and BFN. Period due on Wednesday, day 33. Didn't get my period until day 33 last month. Feel sad but I'm ok, onwards to month 3. Just wish I hadn't to put up with the hormones. The 2ww would wreck your head. :(

Had a hen at the weekend and I wasn't in the best form, only sipping wine. Get the feeling I ruined it for my friends even though they know my story. They are cool with me. I wouldn't mind but I've supported them in every little thing that's come up for them and I don't talk much about myself but yet when I was off form this once it's an issue, I'm not impressed.

Snowdog37 · 12/07/2016 16:25

Waiting for my beta results. Have been feeling quite sick and shaky all day 😜 I think it's nerves.

Hi
First time using the site so hopefully I've come to the right place..
I have a question and hoping someone is in a similar situation to me.. I have been ttc since Oct 2015 with no luck.. came off rivideon bcp at beginning of October 2015 and had what was thought to be withdrawal bleed and since then every cycle has got longer and longer.. from 28 to 36 to 44 to 59 to 62 now I'm on 74 days with no period in site. I've recently been to my gp who has refered me for blood test and am still waiting on results to test my hormones and rule out any other conditions thyroid ect.. he mentioned referring me to gynecologist but am really unsure of what will happen next.. ttc 2nd child as 1st is 5years 4 months now. Am really getting down about it now as my cycles were what I would call perfect before I took the pill for 5 years.
Has anyone else been where I am before if so what happened to your success ttc.
Thank u very much for reading this

maplebaby · 12/07/2016 18:20

Genghis not long for you to test - have my fingers crossed for you and that the mild cramping is the good kind leading to a BFP!

Snow good luck!! Hope the beta results come through soon!

Julia not to get your hopes up but could the spotting be implantation? Do you normally spot before AF? Sorry your friends weren't being supportive Sad I think it's very difficult for them to understand but you'd expect them to cut you some slack and be a bit more sensitive.

User I'm no expert but sounds like PCOS? I have no experience with it but I think there are some threads with people who are experiencing the same issue with periods? Hope your results come back soon and the dr can shed more light onto it.

Snowdog37 · 12/07/2016 18:28

Negative again. Ugh. I was so hopeful too!

Sorry snow I missed your news - Flowers so sorry it didn't work this time Sad are you already going on to the next round?

Julia2016 · 13/07/2016 08:55

Hi Maple

The spotting was like the start of my usual AF, it has come on fully now.

I know this has probably been discussed a thousand times but what do you ladies count as the first day of your cycle? The first day of spotting or when the flow increases?

maplebaby · 13/07/2016 11:30

Julia sorry for AF Sad I spot up to 8 days before AF, in fact I'm 6dpo today and had (tmi) pinky / light brown spotting when I wiped. For me my spotting is always brown and I count cd1 as the day I get fresh, red blood. My flow is super light and only lasts a few days.

maple I'll be going on to Clomid/ovidrel/IUI cycle 3 once af shows up. She's two days late so far. I've heard Clomid can mess up your cycle length so I've just got to wait for her to show. It's annoying but I think she will come today some time as I have that feeling.

I count my first full day of bleeding as day 1, per my clinic's definition. So if I start bleeding by noon that's day 1, but if I only spot in the afternoon/evening/overnight then the next day of full bleeding is day 1 if you see what I mean?
Baby bombs suck. Everyone around me is pregnant (well 3 out of my 7 new friends here). It's like this little club I don't have access to as they all seem to be having a blast and I'm on the outside waiting to join.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 14/07/2016 12:12

Snow sorry the IUI didn't work, and fingers crossed AF turns up soon so you can start again. Has your doctor kept you on the same dose? It's hard isn't it, when you're ttc and everywhere you look everyone is pregnant or has a new baby..

Julia I'm sorry about AF and your friends - it sounds like they could be more supportive. Like the others say, I had heard to count day 1 as the first day of 'proper' bleeding.

Maple It must make a nice change for you not having any baby bombs this week Grin Long may that last! I hope your spotting was just a once off and has disappeared.

Mrs sorry about the baby bomb - I find family ones particularly difficult especially if you hadn't been expecting it Flowers. However, I like your positive attitude - it does get easier!

star1980 · 14/07/2016 14:03

Snow, so sorry round 2 didn't work Flowers. Do you know how many rounds you're giving it? Sorry, I'm sure you've said before but I can't remember. I'm really hoping it's third time lucky for you.

Genghis, how is your tww going? I hope not too crazy. When will you test?

Sorry for af Julia. I do the same as the others - day 1 is first proper bleed. Are you craving straight on with the next cycle.

Flowers mrsunsure. Hang in there, it will happen.

Maple, when do you get going?

I'm 9dpo today so on the home straight, but I don't test I just wait for af. Due on Tuesday but I go to Italy on Sunday for a week so I'm hoping that will take the edge off my period arriving! Not at all hopeful this month. Felt better with the improved sperm but with cycle 1 failing it's hard to stay hopeful. Also hit baby bombed last night and starting to feel desperate like I need to stop wasting time with this and get on with ivf.

Sorry for the rant!

Snowdog37 · 14/07/2016 18:10

My RE has a kind of schedule for cases like mine (low amh and low morph/but high count and good motility) which is 3x Clomid/ovidrel/IUI followered by 3x injectables/ovidrel/IUI. He has an 80% success rate for this apparently. And out of the 20% left who go on to Ivf, at least 60% of those are successful too. I'm impatient and want to get more aggressive treatment quicker but he's saying be patient and use the time to take all the right supplements so by the time I get to cycles 4-6 if I need them, my eggs will be boosted from all the co q10 etc. So fingers crossed something will bloomin well work. Af just rocked up 2 days late in all her glory. So I've ordered the meds to be delivered tomorrow and on to cycle 3 I go!
star good luck. I know what you mean about not having much hope once one fails. It's hard not to get despondent.
My sister popped out 3 kids without trying so I'm finding it hard not to beat myself up about how hard this is proving for me. And I've made lovely new friends here but half of them are expecting, some onto child 2 and 3, and it's such a gorgeous family oriented town I really want to feel more included with kids too. Silly I know. But there's so much fun family stuff going on this summer and I feel I'm missing out.
Well good luck to those waiting. And I know by christmas we will all have nice big bellies to show for all this stress and effort!!!!

I know genghis I felt like I had my fair share of baby bombs not long ago - I'm sure there will be more to come soon - sigh! Still had spotting today but just went to the loo and it was definitely more pinky. I've rushed out to buy tampons (have a work dinner tonight and wearing and white and navy stripey dress so don't want any accidents!).

Star I'm waiting for AF so it should be next week - I'm 7dpo today. Glad to get started to be honest! It's hard not to be a bit hopeful...

Sorry about the baby bomb Flowers I can't remember if you've already said so apologies in advance but can you not ask for insemination? Might help the swimmers as they don't have to get through the cervix themselves and gives them a helping hand?!

star1980 · 16/07/2016 14:24

Snow, that sounds like a v clear and positive plan, hang in there! I know how hard this is. Im going on holiday tmrw with a pregnant couple and it's going to be so hard as understandably they're so excited.

Maple, I thought about asking for insemination but decided against it in the end. I'll do the three cycles then move onto ivf.

11dpo today. No symptoms so not hopeful. Genghis, how are you doing?

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 17/07/2016 01:02

Star Sorry about the baby bomb Flowers Enjoy Italy - what a lovely holiday and handy to keep you distracted if af does turn up (hopefully not though!) I'm totally with you on the 'lets just go straight to ivf'...I'm so worried that I'm losing more time doing this.

Snow Sorry about af but good luck for cycle 3! That does sound like an impressive plan - hopefully the clomid will work its wonders this month.

Maple I hope you enjoyed your dinner and that AF didn't show up!

All fine with me - DP has had some days off so have been preoccupied, which has been useful for taking my mind off the 2ww. Still having light cramping and sore boobs but that is normal for me. Blood test on Tuesday..

Could be ovulation spotting Mrs? I've not had it but I've seen it a lot on FF charts.

I'm on day 5 of Clomid cycle 3. The Clomid is kicking my behind this cycle! Major headaches and ovary pain already after only 2 of the 5 doses! Hoping for at least one good follie and a bfp this cycle.
