Anyone done or doing Clomid/ovidrel/IUI?

Would love to hear from anyone taking this route ttc. I'm DOR and dh has low morphology but an amazing count and motility. So whenever af shows up in two weeks or so I'm starting Clomid, then doing a hcg trigger injection and then IUI. Hoping for success getting 2-3 good eggs to drop and putting the swimmers practically next to them!

If they want to monitor me I might have to wait till October due to being in Canada. Unless it's just day 21 bloods.

As I'm on day 34 I'm feeling pretty anxious atm just in case I've spontaneously started ovulating on my own. Unlikely but I guess I'm just hoping for a miracle.

Fed up of everything being so slow.

Hi all, this is a funky cycle. I had an ultrasound and blood tests yesterday cd10 and it revealed no native follies and my e2 is only 102 so I'm nowhere near ovulation yet despite the last two Clomid cycles I had 1 or 2 good follies and a good e2 by now. So I have to go back on day 12 for repeats of the tests. I'm hoping it isn't a bust cycle and that the Clomid has finally lengthened my follicular phase enough to mature a couple of good eggs. I had 4 very small follies on my left ovary

Af arrived. Thanks for all your good wishes unsure and Snowdog. Now just gotta wait for my appointment on the 18th to hopefully start clomid.

doomkittycleo · 25/07/2016 21:54

My best friend gave birth to her second DD today. Really happy for her but can't help being a bit jealous 🙂

Snowdog37 · 25/07/2016 22:19

I think it's normal and natural to be a bit jealous. It's hard when your own journey takes ages and ages and you see others having babies. Who knows how easy or hard it was for them, I find it hard to not feel a bit resentful when it's not me yet again. Hugs.

I know she was not trying not preventing. She's my best friend so we talk about these things all of the time Smile. The first words out of her mouth when she told me she was pregnant were, "you're gonna hate me."

She understands my situation and is annoyingly the calm headed one who keeps saying "just relax and it'll happen".

I don't hate her for having the baby, but I do hate that phrase lol.

Hey snowdog, good luck for your scan tomorrow. That's weird things are growing more slowly this cycle, but as you say hopefully it means more follicles.
Welcome doom, sorry for af but great that you have an appointment coming up.
Got my day 10 scan on Thursday. I called yesterday and asked if we could convert this cycle to iui and they said we can discuss when I come in. I'm getting so sick of this. It's coming up to 2 years and everyone else is just getting pregnant and having babies with ease. At least that's how it looks to me!

maplebaby · 26/07/2016 12:05

Thank you Mrs - it is a very lonely and isolating journey which is why being on here helps - someone who actually understands to talk to - noone telling you to "just relax / go on holiday" etc!

Star sorry AF arrived on holiday - hope the scan goes well on Thursday and you get to do the IUI - can't see why they would say no.

Doom welcome to our little thread - sorry that you find yourself here. Like the others have said I'm pretty sure they will want to scan you and check progress on clomid. Agree the jealousy is very normal - I'm afraid each baby bomb doesn't get any easier and I was very bitter after the most recent one. Did manage to say congratulations but if I think about it too much it still makes me sad now.

New development again from me. I had my scan today and the 12mm follicle had gone!! He said it might have been a left over follicle from the last cycle which has now collapsed. He sent off urgent blood tests and if all the levels are similar to someone who is early on in their cycle then I can start the clomid and do IUI! I was sad the follicle had gone but pleased I get to start finally (hopefully!). Just need to call up today at about 4pm and they will call me back today or tomorrow to tell me if I can start the clomid (not injectibles as the previous consultant thought).

star1980 · 26/07/2016 12:16

Ooh, exciting maple, but how confusing! So, do you have any idea what cycle day you're on?! Anyway, yeay to getting started!

maplebaby · 26/07/2016 12:49

Star I have absolutely no idea!! If I go by what I usually do im on day 9... But not sure if they will want me to count it differently if I get to start the clomid. I might ask when I speak to them!

friends123 · 26/07/2016 13:25

Hi,
Well i'm currently on day 12, thankfully most of the symptoms have gone now I just feel a bit tired. I'm currently using the dual hormone clearblue ovulation sticks but nothing so far, not even for estrogen just a constant empty circle. There's no other signs either. Strange.
Good luck starting the Clomid Marple, I hope everybody else's waiting game goes quick. Star, I hope you get to do the IUI, not sure why they like to drag things out.

maplebaby · 26/07/2016 18:09

Hi Friends glad your symptoms have almost gone! When do you normally expect high fertility? Last cycle I skipped the flashing smiley and it went straight to solid!

Got my blood results back - we are good to go on the clomid! Taking my first tab tonight (read about "sleeping through" some of the symptoms!) only on 50mg but I think that's because it's my first time and I supposedly ovulate on my own! So woohoo finally good to go with the IUI!

doomkittycleo · 26/07/2016 18:12

How does it work getting all the check ups on the clomid? I have had to wait 3 months between appointments from my first to my second appointment so far. Do they prescribe a few months worth at once or do they prescribe over the phone and get you to pick it up?

maplebaby · 26/07/2016 18:58

Doom are you in the UK / NHS? When I collected my clomid prescription I got 3 months worth. I know I will have to call each time AF starts though and they tell me which days to take it and book in my scans.

doomkittycleo · 26/07/2016 19:22

Yes I'm having investigations via the nhs

Snowdog37 · 26/07/2016 19:24

My second u/s showed no improvements and my blood tests showed my e2 is only 109 so my RE has put me straight back on another 5 days of Clomid at 150mg to kickstart my ovaries. Should be interesting!
maple yay for getting started on the Clomid! Definitely take it right before bed, hardly any side effects then. Except being overly emotional lol. Good luck!

I normally have a solid smiley on cycle day 13 but I usually have at least 4 days of flashing before that. (It's been that way for two years)
On my first Clomid cycle I had a flashing smiley face for 7 days. Day 7 -14 which I thought was understandable seeing as it was making me produce more estrogen.

I wonder if it's something like you Snowdog, I'm not being scanned so it's hard to tell what's going on. I will go see my GP Friday if nothing changes.
Good luck on the Clomid Maple.

Snowdog37 · 26/07/2016 20:21

My e2 and lh both stayed low on day 10 and day 12, so my RE knew no maturation or ovulation would be happening any time soon. It's a pain having so many blood tests etc but it does give a clear view on what's going on. I'd hate to be dealing with this with no idea what's happening!

OP posts:
maplebaby · 26/07/2016 21:25

Doom Hopefully they will give you a few months worth then but I guess different hospitals do things differently!

Snow how strange about this cycle! I wonder why they aren't responding this time round? Good luck on the extra clomid!

Friends could you ask to be scanned / monitored?

Oh my goodness mrs, congratulations! That's wonderful news and not insensitive at all, especially after all you've been through. This was your first month off Clomid wasn't it? Did you do anything particular this cycle. Were you temping etc? Smile

maplebaby · 27/07/2016 22:35

Mrs I'm so thrilled for you! Congratulations! Yay another BFP - hope this is the beginning of more to come on out little thread!
