Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

WE SHALL WIN IN THE GAME OF SPERM MEETS EGG! IT WILL HAPPEN!

10 days dpo and symptom-spotting like a champ. I'm tired and headachey but no other symptoms yet (not even sore boobs which usually start about now).

HepKestrel · 28/04/2016 16:10

fx for you Cthulhoo

but you know the rules Wink hold out for the Starky star!
... don't trust the boobs.....

Ni4444 · 28/04/2016 17:25

Sorry to hear AF came Snow. Enjoy your booze before June comes along! 😉

Oh 6 plus months has mellowed me out...don't even know how many dpo I am!

ktt512 · 28/04/2016 18:02

Starky - I know you're right, it's less than a week until the 4th, I'm going to hold out!

(side note, anyone testing on the 4th planning a star wars themed name/bump nickname if they get a bfp??)

But it's a bit unfair to prey on people's emotions like that with bold claims of being able to tell you if you're pregnant so early, I technically bought them because they were 5 for £4ish, but the tww is bad enough without being tempted to test that early with little chance of getting an accurate result.

www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/results-by-day-past-ovulation.php

Not sure if anyone has seen this before, but I found it quite interesting to see what the averages were for getting what result on each dpo!

KatOnATinRo0f · 28/04/2016 18:06

Oooh hello AF!!
Oops... I went by "the list" and so wasn't expecting The witch until the 30th... Now have damned pain and no paracetamol!

On to cycle 10 then ............................Confused

InspectorPenguin · 28/04/2016 18:10

Hi all, bit of catching up to do!

Welcome Sky, ktt, BlueLadybird and anyone else I've missed. Please take note of the wise words against early testing. It's just not worth the stress and expense and disappointment. Stay strong!

Snow your clinic results sound really positive. Sorry about AF today but it sounds like you're going to have a great chance with IUI so use this week to eat, drink and be merry!

Kwik Your attitude is inspiring. Really hope you're doing okay x

Stark Your wait sounds interminable! Did you not arrange the early scan in the end? Wishing you a very speedy next few weeks.

Commiserations to all those who have not got their BFP this month. I am joining you as mine arrived this afternoon. I'm not particularly despondent as I'm just relieved to be having cycles after the pill - was so worried I'd be waiting for 6 months or longer for things to start! Plus this one was down to 35 days from last month's 38 so that's a big plus.

I can have a guilt free boozey bank holiday now Grin

Jem Please can I have the first June ticket? Ready to go on 4th.

InspectorPenguin · 28/04/2016 18:19

Sorry Kat :( Join me in champagne and blue cheese this weekend Flowers

Evergreen17 · 28/04/2016 18:37

Ahh snow thanks for clarifying that! Grin poor swimmers.
Sorry AF showed up Envy
Sorry Kat Sad it sucks
I might be terrible, but after this long I no longer do the no alcohol during 2ww. I just assume I am not pregnant and so far 100% every time.
I don't get drunk, but I enjoy an ale now and then
I figured I am in this for the long term, and I wont drink during pregnancy or breastfeeding so...

SuchaJem · 28/04/2016 18:43

Sorry to hear that Kat :(

I'm about to enter the FW. Bored of it now. Cycle 5 is boring.

Kathrino · 28/04/2016 18:56

Oh Kat, I'm so sorry about AF Thanks. And you too snow Thanks. This TTC lark is such a bastard sometimes.

Inspector, sorry about yours arriving too. Hope you enjoy several glasses of Wine over the weekend!
*
ktt*, I'm trying to hold out to the 4th (or beyond if I can). I don't have any tests with me and every time I'm near a pharmacy, I walk past it very quickly so I'm not tempted to succumb to the lure of an early test. Those Starky Stars will be ours! StarStarStar

Starky, lovely to see you!

Ever, I'm exactly the same as you re drinking in the TWW. I'm about 8 DPO and had a cocktail and half a bottle of wine last night and feel no guilt whatsoever. There was a great book that someone recommended months ago on this thread called Expecting Better which made me feel a lot more confident to make that kind of choice.

Kathrino · 28/04/2016 18:57

Ugh, what did my phone do to the formatting in that post?! Apologies for the random bold!

HepKestrel · 28/04/2016 19:41

ever I am the same :) I'll stop all the nice stuff when I get a bfp

twinkydink · 28/04/2016 20:00

I think I only did no drinking in the TWW for the first cycle. I agree we have to give all the good stuff up for long enough I'm not doing it sooner than I need to.

I'm refusing to have any tests in until next week. I'm down for the 5th to test but because of my early ovulation ovia is saying AF is due on Sat and FF Is saying she is due on Monday so who knows! Really going to try and hold out till next Thursday but I think AF will be here by then!

iPatches · 28/04/2016 20:01

Kat - sorry about AF.

Ever - I try to do the no-alcohol thing but I have guilt. But I'm CD23 and absolutely no symptoms - boobs are most disappointing - so I might call myself out early this month (AF due on Wed) and have a lovely bank holiday weekend of wine and strong coffee. Next month, definitely more alcohol throughout the month...the whole soft-drink thing certainly isn't helping. I do try to drink in moderation anyway but occasionally I do get a bit giggly...!

InspectorPenguin · 28/04/2016 20:17

Yep, I'm not giving up alcohol until a BFP either (and even then I'm sure I'll still have a little now and then). Life's too short and I just can't believe that it can be that much of an issue. Just think of all those people who get preggers without knowing and do all the 'wrong' things!

I've had three big nights this last couple of weeks and do feel a bit guilty, but more because I want to lose some weight and get fit enough to run some races not because I think it's had any effect on TTC.

Jem, ISW and bank holiday? Happy days. Get on it!

SuchaJem · 28/04/2016 21:30

I'm drinking less but not giving up. This month for me is about being less stressed Halo

Pugmummy87 · 28/04/2016 21:44

I don't drink much anyway, just when I fancy it or if I know I'm going to be on a night out (and I'm not the designated driver or working the next day), so if a fancy a drink during the tww, I will.

AF is giving me horrid cramps, so I'm currently standing in the kitchen rocking my hips and deep breathing. I will ace labour hahaha.

Sorry to anyone else AF has got.

I think I will probably be needing a ticket for the June bus! Depending on how long this cycle wants to be.

bluebird3 · 28/04/2016 22:25

I didn't drink during the tww for the first few months then decided it was too hard expecting to be pregnant every month only to find I wasn't. Not a big drinker anyway so don't think it's a huge issue.

I have a blood test tomorrow. Not sure if it's the right cd to do it as its meant to be day 3 of cycle. I had light bleeding yesterday but then it reverted to spotting today. Will probably have full flow over the long weekend so don't know if I should have waited until Tuesday, but that might be too late? Af confuses me...Hmm

Mooseville · 29/04/2016 06:48

Oooh I'm totally with you girls on having a few drinks and treats during TTC. It's difficult enough without stopping your life completely. I don't think it can do any harm whilst it's a tiny bundle of cells.... obviousjy once the BFP is there, I'd be stopping and being careful!
I am trying to cut down this month though, but that is more to lose weight and get healthier than for TTC benefit!
Sorry to all those AF hit. Where's all the BFP's gone?????

Feefeefs · 29/04/2016 08:26

Sorry about AF snow. I was drinking heavily the tww before bfp! Was on holidays. Stopped as soon as I got it obv and can't think of anything more repulsive now

SuchaJem · 29/04/2016 08:33

pug my GP prescribed mefenemic acid for menstrual pain - it works an absolute treat.

moose I knowwwwww where are all our lovely BFPs?!!

SkyLucy · 29/04/2016 08:46

Ah I'm out Sad. Tested this morning (three days early, I know, I know....but 11 dpo so not ridiculous). Blindingly white BFN and now my tummy hurts, helloooo AF. Just in time for stressful day at work and tonight's influx of in-laws visiting for the bank holiday weekend! Shed a tear, chin up, off we go again. Fx for everyone else still in TWW limbo x

Kwick709 · 29/04/2016 08:59

twinkydink you are a good student - defo get a FRER if in doubt!
I was in Boots the other day waiting for a prescription and was in front of POASs - had to fight urge to bulk buy!!! Far too soon for that malarkey!

ipatches I know babybombs are horrid - but someone - sorry can never remember names... Not sure how I ever got a job in HR Hmm - said once on one of these threads that it may help to remember that there is no finite list of possible babies, that by someone else getting preggers does not lessen your chances any.
Oh and get off FB it is nasty!

snowdog do they have FRERs in USA? Or do you need me to ship some over?
