Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

WE SHALL WIN IN THE GAME OF SPERM MEETS EGG! IT WILL HAPPEN!

Hi iPatches, just wanted to say I empathise with everything you've said. Until very recently I was absolutely surrounded by friends with second/third babies - I used to be bothered by the fact I wasn't broody...now I'm bothered by the fact that I didn't become preggers instantly! I've been off Facebook for a while and have retreated from a particularly fertile set of friends... I realise my approach might not be for everyone but I actually feel so much happier and relaxed. I'm a nightmare for comparing myself with friends, so a bit of distance is keeping me sane!

AliceScarlett · 24/04/2016 22:28

I love MFP, is a pain, but worth it.

Ni4444 · 24/04/2016 22:36

Meh...my post got lost!

Think I was saying how this ISW my body had a new (or previously unnoticed?) treat in store for me...serious sluggishness and bloating around O day. How unattractive did I feel?! Thankfully my OH doesn't seem to be bothered, but I am! I'm a winter hibernator when it comes to exercise, but I'm ready to feel good about myself again!! Some commitment and work is now called for! I think I'll start with some yoga tomorrow.
ipatches we'll be going to France and Spain for my bday 😀

Feefeefs · 24/04/2016 22:38

Thanks bluebird. Anxiety high but trying to power through.

Sorry you're feeling low ipatches I think we will all get there and as DH keeps saying (sometimes I find helpful sometimes not) dealing with all this uncertainty and stress and becoming stronger will prepare us all better for the day we become parents

KatOnATinRo0f · 24/04/2016 22:41

I patches Thanks I know how you feel.
I have a feeling AF is on her way... Not due till the 30th though. Oh well.

Re fitness: I've been trying to get in shape before becoming pregnant... If I can't do it now then there is no chance my body will be as good as it is now after the baby. (And it's not good enough now)... So have been upping the gym and putting in more effort when I'm there, and trying to eat better. I'm currently going to the gym for weight training about 6 days a week, with some cardio about once or twice but summer is coming and my muffin top is not going away so I think I'm going to start doing cardio 4 X a week too (I think about 25-30 mins of HIIT sprints on the treadmill if I can manage it)... That's the plan! Like to do some yoga but haven't had time recently. What does everyone else do? X

Pugmummy87 · 24/04/2016 22:59

twinky I am currently doing the Hairy Bikers Fast track diet and exercise program. It's 6 weeks, 1200 calories per day. Started Friday. I've just got myself an exercise bike. DH and I finally brought our bikes back from where they have been in storage at he's grandad's house. Just needs a service. The London Marathon had really inspired me this year (thanks to my FIL who ran it today!) and if it wasn't for the ttc, I would want to put myself forward for the 2017 one, running for a charity close to my heart.

island I love corfu! Whereabouts are you staying? I've only been the once, but would love to go back so much. It was my Dad's favourite place too.

ipatches good to see you, sorry you have been feeling low, this ttc lark does mess with your mood something rotten I find.

I feel that af is on her way Sad

Evergreen17 · 25/04/2016 07:58

Crazycat thank you for the video! I used to do the 30 days shred but the level 2 hurt my back!
I have some other jillian michaels dcd and I wanted to start the Yoga inferno, but the title scares me GrinGrin
This zumba looks more gentle
Thanks island. On mine the lady just said everything seems consistent with the time on the cycle. And that she saw nothing wrong, but no idea if there was anything right Grin
Hello ipatches! [waves] welcome back! We are still here Smile
I am going to focus on my body too. I have been focussing a lot on my mind as I suffer from anxiety but I sometimes forget how linked they are and how exercise makes me feel so much better Smile
I have been eating good foods for a week and exercise will become a routine now.
I dont temp anymore and only using my fertility monitor which is helping as well as not obsessing over symptoms.
Ni I am going to Spain for my birthday Grin. Only one week to go!!!!

celizabe · 25/04/2016 09:38

Morning Ladies, hope you all had a nice weekend.

Congratulations on your BFP Maya that's great news, you've really perked me up on this freezing cold Monday morning Smile

Not a lot happening with me this week, reckon I'm due to OV somewhere around the 3rd or 4th May so just going to take it steady this time around and hope for the best. I'm with you Jem going to try the zen approach.

Kwick thinking of you Flowers

KatOnATinRo0f · 25/04/2016 09:48

The zen approach is the way forward :) I have been feeling so much more relaxed about everything since ? February. When I realised it was out of my control and it's not going to happen quickly, so there's not much point in being stressed about it. Give me another few months and I will be stressing again I think. !!

Theorchard · 25/04/2016 13:04

skylucy I can definitely relate to not being broody at all, and now that we are trying I want to be pregnant instantly! Sadly it doesn't work that way.
kat definitely zen is the way forward. I shall set an intention for my yoga practice (iyengar) today around acceptance. Oommmmm
In other news lots of creamy cm, sore nips and nausea, but think I am massively overthinking things/symptom spotting like a loon and this probably happens every month (I def get extreme tiredness and bloating pms) I just never noticed before.

Can I join? I am new and nervous

TTC Cycle 3
CD 28 (usual length 30 or 37 Confused)
Peaked on day 23 (Using OPKs.)

Trying to take a systematic approach to DTD but find it all extremely confusing knowing when. Last month was very good and held off POAS thinking OH would want to be in. Turned out he didn't and it was BFN but in the mean time I had convinced myself I was pregnant so contemplating testing earlier this time.

Mayago

kavanaughkj · 25/04/2016 14:40

Hey all :) and congrats to mayago, so nice to see another bfp here!

I never used to get broody at all either. I think my maternal instincts got booted on at a later date than they do for most ladies ... I keep seeing gorgeous little babies and toddlers everywhere since we started trying.

After a hopeful start to the tww, I'm not feeling it right now. Temps went back down again and have been very up and down; no symptoms that I can detect really. Did have a lovely day out cycling on the weekend though (albeit to the pub for lunch and back) which took my mind off things a bit. Right now just want AF to show so we can start trying again, though it's not due for another 4 days.

Hi blueladybird! welcome to the thread.

Ni4444 · 25/04/2016 14:48

Hi Blue! Welcome!! How are you finding the opks? I found temping is reassuring cos I know I'm ovulating (not that my eggs are doing what I'd like them to though!). Now listen don't test before AF is due or you won't get a Starky Star 🌟!! Plus you could get BFP as the stick picks up on something which sticks briefly, but then doesn't stick a few days later. Save yourself the heartache and wait til you're due to test!! Stark back me up here.... You're great on the rationale!

blueladybird · 25/04/2016 14:51

Thank you for the warm welcome. I think AF is due 4 May - I'm assuming 'late' ovulation means long cycle as I'm either 30/37 day cycles. I can tell when AF is coming so will test bank holiday Monday if no signs but think it's unlikely this month as only managed to DTD once after positive on OPK.

Otherwise I'll start OPKs again early next month in case I have a short cycle - don't want to miss it. I am confused about when you are most fertile in relation to positive on OPK - is it before the positive OPK or after, and for how long?

LovelyFishy · 25/04/2016 15:10

Welcome Blueladybird! When you get a positive opk it means ovulation will happen in the next 12-72 hours I believe? Some of the other ladies here are much more knowledgable than I! Basically it means ovulation is coming soon so it's time to dtd!

Just went for a 5km run, feeling very good about myself right now! Grin If I can't make a baby at least I can make my body better inside and out. And I've decided if I'm not pregnant by my birthday (November) might look at going to Las Vagas!!

blueladybird · 25/04/2016 15:10

Thank you Ni4444. I've found the OPKs okay so far - helpful for a systematic approach to DTD! I'm going to get another pack. I am tempted by the Clear Blue digital machine which is around £100 but not sure it adds much.

I do have a thermometer but haven't used it yet as it seems fiddly - is it? I'll have to wake up half an hour earlier to take my temp, write it down, POAS, check for a line then input it all to Ovia Wink. Thanks for the early testing info... I will wait (promise). I am quite nervous about all this despite not usually being a nervous person normally, so I don't want to take on unnecessary disappointment. So that means I'll be testing on 4 May unless I am already out.

Otherwise all I'm doing is taking folic acid and not drinking after the high OPK which is actually making me feel pretty good!

Ni4444 · 25/04/2016 15:40

I find the temping isn't as hard as it sounds. Wake up, take temperature before moving from bed or drinking anything, then input in fertility friend (not as cutesy looking as Ovia but much better at identifying actual ovulation date with temps). I'd order the basal body thermometer before spending 100 on the clearblue machine! It also shows if your progesterone levels are dropping/temperature is dropping (ie AF is coming) so less disappointment or misplaced expectation. But hey that's just what works for me!

blueladybird · 25/04/2016 17:25

Stupid question but do you take BBT via your arm pit? I'll give it a whirl next month and thanks for the tip about fertility friend - I'll download that later and input my stats from Ovia over the past couple of months.

I really wish I had started using OPK, temping etc long before we started TTC as it would be helpful to have a better picture.

We have told absolutely noone we are TTC so it's good to be able to talk about it here.

Ni4444 · 25/04/2016 17:35

Oh absolutely Blue! Saves the OHs from half the crazy of ttc too! Not a stupid Q as some people do it vaginally! I just go for old fashioned under the tongue temp!

3dpo here and absolutely nothing to report! Jem apparently I ovulated early so AF may be due 4th (CD28) but let's leave it as the 7th so I resist getting worked up too early!

Kwick don't know if you're reading, but you're on my mind today-sending love your way xx

iPatches · 25/04/2016 19:25

Thanks for the warm welcome back Smile Hello to those who have been here with me for a while (Kat, Ever, Ni) - nice to see you again - and hi to those who are newer Grin

Today is CD20 and other than slightly obsessing over symptom spotting (I have none, but I'm desperately trying to convince myself otherwise), there's nothing to note.

I didn't get a positive OPK this month so not sure if I even ovulated, or if I did, I missed it. The OPK test strips went dark, but not dark enough to be a positive, on CD 11 & 12, and then lighter again on CD 13 to now not even showing up. I forgot to test on CD10, well done me.

Still having a love-hate relationship with Ovia. We consider her part of the family now.

Jem - I think AF is due on May 4. Not sure as my cycles have been all over the place but that's based on my last cycle length.

SkyLucy · 25/04/2016 19:58

Hi blueladyblue - welcome! I'm new too...and the same age as you...and full of questions too! I naively never realised how much of an unknown this would all be...massively out of my comfort zone! Jem, my lovely AF is due on 2 May, ready to celebrate the long weekend Wink.

theneonninja · 25/04/2016 20:07

AF finally hit today after 43 days! Relieved I'm out of limbo land after all the BFNs. Can I have a ticket for the May bus please jem? Pop me down for the 30th please Smile
