SMEP plan this month ?

Hi all,
Me and dh have decided to do the famous SMEP plan this month ! Anyone else attempting it ?
We were supposed to do it last month but life got in the way :)
A few stats age 27 ttc#1 cycle 2
Currently on cd3 starting the smep is plan on cd8

Hi Nicky. We have inadvertently ended up doing SMEP this month! I was interested in it and had thought we'd give it a go next month as didn't know much about it and then yesterday did some reading and realised its actually what we did this month! My stats are age 30, cycle 2 (3 but first was very half hearted), TTC #1. I'm CD 18 today and think I OV'ed yesterday...just waiting for two more high temps. Got my +ve OPK on Friday so DTD from, say and sun and having a day off today. Started every other day on CD8 but like I say...or wasn't deliberate! Have heard good things though so keeping my fx! Baby dust to you! Xx

Hi all, I'll join in. Waiting for AF after some accidental trying last month! Trying for real this month coming up.

TTC no 3, first cycle, waiting for day 1. DS was due Xmas day and came New Year's Day - awesome time of year to be born :)

I've used SMEP to conceive my other two children and think it really works well. Good luck to us all.

May i ask how long it took you before to concieve using the smep plan?

I've had 5 miscarriages so have been pregnant 7 times in total, each time within 4 months of trying.

Have you got other halves involved in the plan? Mine quite likes the challenge of it!

Sorry about your losses Llama he doesnt know the exact details just that we are dtding every other day :p he is not complaining !

Thanks Nicky. I went a bit TWW crazy last cycle and pretty much convinced myself I'd get a BFP so trying to be, and surprisingly feeling, a bit more relaxed this time but I'm only 1 day down so could go tits up yet!

Hi Llama. I'm sorry for your losses...I can't even imagine. Great that you've had positive experience of the SMEP though. So far I've only heard good things about it. Someone else had posted that it boosts your chance from 25% each month to 47% but I've found nothing to verify that online...sounds good though!

My OH knows about it but doesn't seem particularly fussed! He's a bit of a sex pest normally I must admit (only to me, not in a bad way!) although TTC has thrown him a couple of times with the pressure. That was why it was a bit of a surprise that we'd actually done SMEP without meaning too. He obviously hasn't been having that much trouble.

Bit of a tmi question but does anyone else get a bit sore from all the DTD? This weekend when u was ovulating it was actually a bit painful...kind of stabbing pains when OH got too deep. (Sorry sorry!) I persevered and all but was a bit concerned by it. Do you think it's just from being very active?!

Hi all! So glad to have stumbled across this thread I was about to start one just like it.

I'm fiddle, 28 (today!) and ttc1 in c2. I'm on CD3 today and after being gutted it didn't happen for us last month to give me a BFP for my birthday I've dusted myself off and ready to try SMEP after reading lots of good reviews! The only potential hiccup is on CD10 I have a work trip away for one night so hoping for no early ovulation, it will be my first time using ov tests so hoping that gives us a bit more of an idea.

My DH is also quite up for all the dtd and whilst I'm keeping quiet about the plan I think he'll be delighted!

Looking forward to waving off AF tomorrow and getting on with it, fx everyone

Thanks Nicky. I don't think it's much to worry about. To be honest I was pretty gassy all weekend so that could have been it! Today my temps are right up and fertility friend has put me at 4DPO which is much more than I was expecting. I was thinking 2. Looks like the TWW might be a bit more bearable this time if that's the case!

Not doing temps yet as i am sure it will make me even more worried . Last cycle t was my first time usig opks and i waa terrified every morning ithat i would never get a positive which wpuld mean i am not ovulating will definately try it if i dont concieve in the next 2 cycles (hope not )

I have told DH about this and he has agreed to give it a go

Hoping AF will bugger off tomorrow so we can get on with it, my OPKs should arrive in the next couple of days. I've not tried them before so hoping they give me a clearer picture of my cycle. Call me a prude but I've just not fancied squatting and sticking my fingers up there to feel my CM

Fiddlesticks I'm a total prude about the cm and cervix stuff. Would much rather pee on something! Waiting for ovulation sticks and af to return.

Hi ladies and welcome newcomers. I have a quick q...given I'm temping and depending on which app I look at I am 2,3 or 4 DPO do you think it would be silly not to DTD tonight? It's probably a stupid question but I know to really do SMEP we should but are both knackered and suspect that my egg is either gone or upduffed by now...just wondering what others would do? Thank you and sorry for silly q!

I've done step before with success - one dd and one mc. Both conceived in the first month of doing smep. (First month of trying with dd, 3rd with lost baby). This will be my 2nd cycle post mc and I am going to smep it up all the way!

Paco glad to hear I'm not the only one!! AF is coming to an end now and although I'm on a work trip tonight, I'll be back tomorrow which will be CD5 and we can get going!

Fiddle i am on cd5 today but i wont be starting the plan until cd8 ? Are u starting earlier ir i am i wrong to thinknit starts on cd8? All this planning is not so romantic lol !

I also use opk to track your ovulation athough is obvious from cm when wipingg (tmi) . I used boots and clearblue dual hormone ones and i prefer the cb as they are easier to read

Hi the newbies. I'm still waiting for AF, but as wasn't tracking last month I have no idea what DPO or even cycle say I'm on. My guess would be 7-12 DPO. Pretty frustrating. Internet cheapie pregnant tests arriving in the post on Friday so will try with FMU on Saturday. Almost want AF to come so we can get day 8 booked into the diary!

We inadvertently did this this month! AF is due Saturday but definitely getting AF symptoms already
