I just spotted that the old thread was now closed to new messages so thought I'd start another. The old thread for reference: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2457787-TTC-1-after-miscarriage-looking-for-some-buddies

Amy, sorry you're still spotting. Just so you know it can be quite common to have a small LH surge around where you are in your cycle, then have your true surge later in your cycle. How long are your cycles usually?

AmyB1986 · 07/03/2016 20:47

Elderberries my cycles are anywhere between 28 and 32 days. I hope that's what it is, I don't want to ov yet. Would like this spotting to stop!

Loki sorry you're spotting too. I'd rather have a longer af than constant spotting. Just hoping it stops before ov. It is getting me down now.

Loki17 · 07/03/2016 20:59

Snap Amy! I just want to know where I stand!

smellsofelderberries · 07/03/2016 21:40

If you have cycles that length the this wil be a false surge and you should ovulate in just under a week or so Smile

smellsofelderberries · 07/03/2016 21:42

12dpo and I'm having some cramps but no sign of my period yet. No spitting or anything. Slightly paranoid about Asherman's Syndrome Blush I know that's crazy and I should enjoy the fact my LP is being normal!

Loki17 · 07/03/2016 21:57

Not easy to relax when you have been through what we've been through. Fx for you though elderberries. Hope this is it for you x

Brenna24 · 07/03/2016 22:06

Amy I had cramps and spotting in my first cycle after my m/c which turned out to be ovulation. I thought at first that it meant the m/c wasn't over and was gutted. Then overjoyed to find out it was a cycle back.

fx for you elderberries. Another positive on the OPK today (I normally get two days positive and then a temperature dip the day after. No hope of seeing the temp dip as I am still lurgified and burning up. But we DTD to completion yesterday and today (depite me having a massive and very unsexy coughing fit whiihc made me do a massive raspberry style fart -sexxeeeee), so we are in with a chance this month. Grin

AmyB1986 · 07/03/2016 22:15

Brenna actually properly belly laughed at the raspberry style fart! Fx for you!

I'm still chatting my temps so I should know when I've ov'd like I did after the mc. The cramps were awful and couldn't walk they lasted right up until day 3 of this af and now have none just the stupid spotting Angry temps have really stabilised now. Expecting ov between cd13 and cd16 so think this is a fake surge like you said elderberries unless I ov unusually early which I know can happen sometimes.

Also if you don't mind me saying, I've got a lady boner constantly! Sex drive is through the roof!

smellsofelderberries · 08/03/2016 08:21

So, um, not asherman's. Pregnant Shock faintest of faint lines just now, am 13dpo!

AmyB1986 · 08/03/2016 08:26

Oooh elderberries this is exciting! Test again and 15dpo, hormone levels should doubleish every 48 hours.

InsufficientlyCaffeinated · 08/03/2016 08:29

Oh wow elderberries that is exciting! Congratulations! Smile

Wow Elderberries! Huge congratulations!!

This thread has been very successful so far so I'm staying positive.

I'm now cd31, still nothing. I'm getting more hopeful with every hour that passes but have decided not to test as I have had 34 day cycles before.

Brenna24 · 08/03/2016 08:41

Fantastic Elderberries. Congratulations. So happy for you. Wishing you the best of luck with this one. Flowers

smellsofelderberries · 08/03/2016 09:12

Thanks all! I'm trying not to panic/get excited because I can't control the outcome. I can't emphasise how faint the test is, either, so we'll see. Fingers crossed.

Pacothepidgeon · 08/03/2016 09:38

Congrats elderberries Grin

jodiebee664 · 08/03/2016 09:54

Big congrats elderberries

I need to bit advice to make sure I'm doing it right with TTC...so to speak!

With my first pregnancy I caught very quickly without trying or checking ovulation dates etc...but that sadly ended in m/c

I expected/hoped the same would happen again but sadly not. I am now conscious about when ovulation dates are and we have DTD then but no results as yet (after 4 mths of normal post MC AF)

I bought some OPK sticks for next time but haven't got a clue about charting temperatures etc. Can you offer some advise please?

Sorry to sound like a complete novice!

Pacothepidgeon · 08/03/2016 10:41

Jodie I think you just take your temperature with a thermometer every morning, chart it and when there is a spike in your temperature that's when you ovulate. Someone hopefully more knowledgable than me will tell you if that's right (my info comes from good old doctor Google).

MimiDoddrioni · 08/03/2016 11:15

Congratulations Elderberries, fx that those lines get darker.

Anyone else been to the implantation clinic in Coventry? Trying to decide whether to stop ttc for 2 cycles to get tested for uterine natural killer cells or carry on ttc and see if we can ride the post-mc fertility boost and hope the next bean sticks Hmm

AmyB1986 · 08/03/2016 11:49

Jodie I chart my temps. First you need a bbt thermometer, you can get the from eBay it has to be one of those not a fever thermometer as they don't give you points if a degree which bbt's do. You can start midcycle but it won't be as accurate. Test your temp at the same time every morning as soon as you wake up, before moving talking etc. I set my alarm for 7 every morning to take my temp even if I go back to sleep after. I use fertility friend, I start taking opk's from cd7 3 times a day, one at 10am, one at 2pm and one between 6 and 9 pm and stop when it goes back to neg after ov.
Normally you get a temp spike when ov occurs and it usually means you ov'd the day before your spike in the chart, the temps have to be higher for 3 consecutive days to confirm ov though. Hope this helps.

Elderberries faint or not it's still positive, congrats hope all goes well.

Mimi I have no advice sorry, used to live in Cambridge years ago when I had dd1 but moved back to Leicester during my pregnancy. Not sure what you should do, suppose it's what ever feels right for you.

AmyB1986 · 08/03/2016 11:50

Sorry that was meant to say Coventry not Cambridge! Tell you iPhones autocorrect is stupid sometimes!

Brenna24 · 08/03/2016 15:33

Jodie I temp too. I use this thermometer.

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002VF8EXC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

As Amy says it has to be a super accurate one to 2 decimal places. You need to take your temperature at the same time each day my alarm is set for 6.15 as I get up at 6.30 for work, at the weekends I just go back to sleep for a while. I use both Ovia and Fertility Friend to keep track of everything. I get a temperature dip the day I ovulate and my temperature starts rising the day after. You need at least 3 days of temperature rise to comfirm ovulation but I find that my temerature doesn't go back down until the day Af starts. I find that the charts are quite 'noisy' with my temp during AF and until ovulation ranging from 35.7 to 36.0 deg C and my temp after ovulation rainging from 36.2 to 36.8. Temps don't work if you are ill as I am seeing right now - todays temp was 37.4, which is unheard of for me normally. FF has thrown a strop and is refusing to work with me and do predictions for this month Grin.

Amy glad to make you laugh. I nearly did too but thankfully supressed that as that would have made me cough more and killed the moment entirely.

jodiebee664 · 08/03/2016 15:50

Thanks for the advice brenna amy and paco I've ordered a thermometer!

Second dumb question - so when your temp spikes and you know you're ovulating, is it then that you DTD?

AmyB1986 · 08/03/2016 16:01

Normally the temp spike happens the day after ov. They say the best time to conceive is between 3 days prior to ov and the day of ov, we try to dtd at least every other day 7 days prior to ovulation. My hubby has a habit of pleasuring himself between dtd in my fertile window but actually read this is a good thing because it encourages production of healthy strong new sperm. He's in the believe he has 'super spunk' to quote only because he's managed to get me upduffed so many times despite the outcomes.

AmyB1986 · 08/03/2016 16:15

Oooh I'm going all ttc crazy... Just ordered myself a ferning saliva microscope from Amazon! Being off work and having crazy notions running around my head made me buy it Shock well that's what I'm gong to tell DH when he asks why I'm spending 13 quid on something I'm going to spit into now as well as sticks to piss on.

jodiebee664 · 08/03/2016 16:22

Thanks amy all sounds a lot better than just relying on the ov app on my phone I was using before!

I was in hospital last week with a suspected appendicitis but it turned out to be mittelschmerz which is when the cyst around the egg bursts and causes pain - it happens at the time of ov and this was a few days earlier than when i thought my ov time was!

Hope the spitting goes well, i didn't even know such things existed!
