I just spotted that the old thread was now closed to new messages so thought I'd start another. The old thread for reference: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2457787-TTC-1-after-miscarriage-looking-for-some-buddies

Just on the topic of exercising - I'd given up running at DH's request to reduce risks, but went for a run for the first time since MC yesterday as it was raining and not pleasant for a walk. It felt amazing, and we've agreed I'll take running back in for the first half of my cycle then stop after OV to reduce any risks. Like anything else, I guess we need to work out what we're each comfortable with and its such an individual thing as it depends a lot on fitness/general health what's OK and what your body can tolerate. I'd think jogging's fine Albus as it's not too intense, my issue is I like to run fast and not sure I could restrain myself to jog once I got going.

Pacothepidgeon · 22/02/2016 20:51

I'm looking forward to going running again even though I'm terrible at it! It always clears my head and makes me feel better. I will have to start couch to 5k again.

Hey there, my first ever post on this site but had read a few messages and was hoping you don't mind me joining?
First things first, can someone help me out with the acronyms? I've worked out TTC but what are the rest?
X Confused

InsufficientlyCaffeinated · 22/02/2016 21:27

Hi Jodie and welcome to the thread. There is an MN acronym guide at the top of each thread, linked below too
www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms

Acronyms relevant to this thread:

mc - miscarriage
2ww/tww - two week wait between ovulation and when you can test
dtd - do the deed/sex
af - aunt Flo/period
ov - ovulation
dp/dh - dear partner/husband

You get the hang of it eventually, took me a while. Feel free to ask any others you're unsure of though

I did C25K 2 years ago Paco. I am not a natural runner (in fact I look remarkably like I am dying all the time I do it) but it helps keep the weight off and made me feel really good that even I could manage it.

Welcome Jodie

Tomorrow my brother and SIL are going in for their section. I have had an evening of messages from them. And messages from another friend who had her little one on friday and is bored and wants me to pop in and see her. I should be in my final trimester and discussing stuff with them. I have arranged to see the friend on wednesday night but have warned her I may cry. DDog is booked in for the vet tomorrow night and DH is in London for the week. I will be doing well to survive this week.

jodiebee664 · 22/02/2016 21:54

Thanks so much, makes a lot more sense now! And thanks for letting me join, sorry to hear all the tough times you've been through, I totally understand.
I had a 9wk mc in August, I had the medical management and bled for about 3 weeks, stopped for 2 and then got what I thought was Af but it lasted for over 9 weeks...went back to the hospital for a scan which was all clear, they gave me a course of antibiotics which finally made it stop.
I was feeling really positive when I got first normal af but now after the third, I'm feeling a bit gutted...due date will be soon so just cant believe I've not caught yet!

HopefulKate1980 · 22/02/2016 22:15

I'm so sorry you are with us Jodie but welcome!!

You poor thing for bleeding so long. What caused it do you know?

Xx

HopefulKate1980 · 22/02/2016 22:17

brenna - sounds like a tough week, I really hope you find some comfort. Xx

LillianFullStop · 22/02/2016 23:06

Big congratulations albus! hoping for all best for you Grin

jodiebee664 · 22/02/2016 23:18

They couldn't really say, all just felt a bit vague at the hospital...i had a follow up with a gynaecologist with which appointments were apparently like 'gold dust' but all she said was yes dear, you had a miscarriage and bled and now its stopped and you should hopefully be okay. Felt like she just read my notes to me but had no answers!
Great to see positive post mc stories on here though. Just so hard when pregnancy and babies seem to be all around!

AmyB1986 · 23/02/2016 09:02

Morning all- Jodie welcome to the thread, sorry you find yourself here and for your loss.

In the night again I had terrible pains that kept me awake. I've no idea what's going on. My temperatures all all over the place too, think that due to not sleeping very well though.
Well and truly pissed off with it now (sorry for the swear word Blush).
Not at work today so I'm going to clean the house and distract myself from it. Shopping is being delivered to and I've ordered myself some chocolate to munch and console myself.

Hope you all have a great day xx

Sorry about the duplicate post! On my phone grr

Bonxie · 23/02/2016 11:42

Hello all - just touching base, I've had a bit of an introspective week after AF arrived last week. I was disappointed of course, but still optimistic!

So pleased to see your good news Albus!

Welcome to new joiners Thanks

I've not caught up properly but that's good going on the weight loss Brenna. I'm doing my best to get my BMI down by a couple of points, so far seems to be working but the scales are broken...

I was doing slimming world for a couple of weeks after the mc but I realised very low fat was probably not a good idea for ttc or my mood so I'm making up my own thing. I've got used to no caffeine (or decaf) and very limited sugar (prunes in my porridge is about the limit of it) and am trying to ramp up the protein. It's chia and pumpkin seed central here Grin I've got wine down to one or two glasses a week. On the very plus side my skin is better than its ever been and a few people this week have been shocked to learn my age. Hopefully it's having the same effect on my eggs Grin

Also had my first (impromptu) session of reflexology last night. They thought my pineal gland was a bit out of whack so I'm not going to use screens before bed and last night I wore an eye mask and sleep a bit later (thin blinds). Otherwise seem fairly healthy though. Considering acupuncture, too.

Here's to crossing everything for everyone this time!

Pacothepidgeon · 23/02/2016 13:05

I see a few people are doing reflexology. I've never had it but I'm interested. Is this to rebalance your system or does it help with fertility?

smellsofelderberries · 23/02/2016 13:16

Amy hope you have a nice day off and enjoy your chocolate Grin

Brenna congratulations on the weight loss, that's amazing!

Bonxie, I had a bit of success with acupuncture but it was too expensive for me to do on a regular basis (first session increased my LP from 11 days to 15 days, second time I went I was pregnant that cycle). Have decided I'm going to start again next cycle though as have found some good looking student clinics in central London and it looks to only be £15 a session! I love reflexology too, though I find it more relaxing than actually having an obvious effect like the acupuncture did.

I am CD18 today and still not ovulated, still getting EWCM and watery. A bit annoying as we've been having so much sex and last cycle I ovulated on CD17! Guess it just goes to show my body isn't back to normal yet.

I've booked a GP appointment for late March (soonest I could get Shock) to ask for a fertility specialist referral. We'll have been trying 12 months by then. I'm worried they will refuse considering I got pregnant once, but we'll be into cycle 11 by then Sad anyone else in a similar position/been through a similar thing? Considering posting on the infertility boards but don't want to upset people/be insensitive considering we did get pregnant naturally once. We are not infertile but I think we are probably sub-fertile, for some reason Sad

I fell off the wagon a bit with the weight loss tonight and had a huge portion of dinner.

My bro and SIL had a boy today. 10lb 1oz.

DDog went to the vets and has had his tramadol doubled. He is now on 300mg a day. He is furious with me but that will keep him going for a while longer. Right now he is glaring at me from the end of the bed for being so evil to him.

HopefulKate1980 · 24/02/2016 07:36

Ahh brenna what a gorgeous dog! He does look unhappy with you though!! Cute.

Must be hard having babies in the family. My brother had his son just after my first MC in November and I've only seen him a few times. He lives on the other side of London & so it's not easy to pop round but still, I know I have been avoiding it tbh. It's so selfish of me but I found after my second MC that I had to do everything I can to protect my mental health. My brother totally understands but I still feel bad. Hope you are ok.

I've finally stopped bleeding!! Result!! I have cramps and awful gas so sounds like my proper period is now round the corner. Ovia says 7 days until AF. My body has been so strange!!!

redstrawberries101 · 24/02/2016 07:55

Aw bless your dog Brenna. You've done so well with the weight loss, new day today n all that Smile am going out with DH today since we never got to celebrate our anniversary with his mum being so poorly. So we are going along to Loch Lomond ! Hopefully the weather stays clear. It's cold but bright at the moment with no winds/rain. Hopeful Kate, I hope your AF comes so you can have a fresh start. Hopefully the body will fall back into its regular cycle now. Xx

Brenna24 · 24/02/2016 08:33

Oh Kate I remember the gas post miscarriage. It is settling down now after almost 6 months. I have been forgiven this morning.
