I just spotted that the old thread was now closed to new messages so thought I'd start another. The old thread for reference: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2457787-TTC-1-after-miscarriage-looking-for-some-buddies

That looks positive to me Obsessed Congratulations! Were you due AF today or testing early? I'm due Mon/Tue and even though in my head I know I missed the window I'm still hopeful and wondering whether to test. TTC is making me crazy!

obsessedlex · 04/02/2016 08:24

It's early, I think I'm due st the weekend but it's only my first proper cycle since MMC so by certain. Good luck and fx to you xx

JoMalones · 04/02/2016 08:26

Lex! Congratulations! Thanks

obsessedlex · 04/02/2016 08:27

Wow congratulations lex! Wishing you an uneventful pregnancy! Xx

Llindsey85 · 04/02/2016 11:40

Congratulations to Lex and Twinkle! Wishing you both a healthy and non-eventful pregnancy!

Riddle I didnt have any bloods taken at any point either. I guess its not standard.

Based on my positive ovulation test, Im at 10dpo I think. Going to buy a first response for the morning so I know if I can drink this weekend at a friends party.
Trying very hard to be realistic and not expect a positive but it so hard when you want something so badly.
Been getting cramping a little so I suspect AF is on its way but I'm sure I had this with my last pregnancy too so will just cross my fingers!

Anyone else coming to the end of 2WW? Its been a long wait for me after my miscarriage started on 20th Dec!

smellsofelderberries · 04/02/2016 12:23

Ah Lex and Twinkle!!! Congratulations!! So so exciting to see this thread getting some much deserved BFPs Grin

Llindsey I'm about 8DPO I think (based purely on EWCM and cervical position) after an ERPC on the 11th of Jan. Have had all my usual PMS symptoms so not expecting anything even though I know we had good timing purely by accident! Am still going to test Sunday morning anyway as have lots of ICs.

This might be a weird question but did anyone have any issues with their hair after their MC? I have noticed if I part my hair in most places I have these 1-2inch long soft tufty bits. It's all over my head, they're like the baby hairs you get along your hairline. Hoping they grow out nicely because right now my hair looks incredibly frizzy! Have noticed my hair has grown about 2 inches since Christmas too. Was just wondering if it could have been pregnancy related...Hmm

Fedupithink · 04/02/2016 12:28

I'm coming to the end of my 2ww too, I think. My cycle varies between 30-34 days. 30 days will be Monday.

Although that being said, I think I ovulated earlier than usual which if the 14 day rule is applied means I should be due on today/tomorrow.

I've no idea really. I'll wait until Tuesday/Wednesday to test if AF doesn't arrive but I don't think we dtd at the right times so it's highly unlikely.

I'm sure I'm driving myself mad with all this counting, second guessing and symptom spotting.

obsessedlex · 04/02/2016 13:04

Thank you all for your congratulations.
smellsofelderberries I def have had the same and I am pretty sure it is MC related.
When you are pg your hair doesn't fall out at the same rate. I lost loads after I had a baby and then it grew back in these tufts as you say, so I am sure its all to do with hormones and so there is no reason why after a MC it should be any different I guess. Someone may come along with a more technical answer but I have def noticed lots of short hairs around my hair line.

JoMalones · 04/02/2016 13:52

Lex. I would be exactly the same but just try to enjoy it! So happy that it happened so quickly for you.

Elderberries yes, I've got the post-baby hair. My hair grows so much in pregnancy and now I'm having to empty my brush more. I know it's normal after birth so I'm sure is the same for MC as the hormones are all there. I haven't lost as much but I guess that's because I wasn't as pregnant for so long. The fine baby hairs drive me bonkers though as my hair is fluffy enough as it is.

Good luck to those testing in the next week.

I am looking forward to next week as should be ov but then will be back to the dreaded 2ww

riddles26 · 04/02/2016 15:28

Congratulations Lex and Twinkles. So lovely to hear good news :)

Llindsey I mc around the same time as you but I still have another week until I come to the end of my 2ww. Saying that, we haven't really been trying this month so am not expecting much.

Do you all track your ovulation each month? If you do, what method works best for you? Although we tried for a long time before the mc, I was adamant I did not want to track regularly and tried to maintain frequent intercourse throughout the month. I did try tracking for 2 months just to check I was ovulating but it didn't result in a pregnancy so went back to the original method. In the month where we conceived, we had actually stopped trying as I was due to have a laparoscopy to investigate if there were any blockages. Only dtd twice that month as we had so much going on. We are looking at starting to try from next month and I really can't decide if tracking will help or create pressure..

InsufficientlyCaffeinated · 04/02/2016 15:59

I don't really track it in-depth. Started temping but that lasted all of 3 days and even then I kept forgetting it. I'm not good in the morning! All I use is a period tracking app which estimates my ovulation and fertile window. It's usually accurate to within a day or two but I have a regular 29 day cycle. Rely more on paying attention to EWCM

I'm waiting for my first AF before TTC and desperately want it to come now. I'm 4 weeks 2 days from medically managed miscarriage but my bleeding didn't stop until about 2 weeks ago so I'm not sure when AF will turn up. Had lots of PMT and a few cramps but intermittent really. Hopefully after it comes, and we start TTC I'll feel a little better in that I know there is nothing more I can do than that to make it happen. Hoping to take the relaxed approach like last time but not sure I'll manage.

Loki17 · 04/02/2016 16:43

First af post mc and it is heavy and horrendous. Had to go to work in black jeans today because I just felt so insecure in my normal work wear. keep reminding myself that it will end. Trying to be positive and focus on the future now. Really lovely reading the bfp news - it gives me hope. Flowers

obsessedlex · 04/02/2016 18:01

Riddles I didn't really track but I used the Ovia app which you click on the symptoms you have daily, I really only ever clicked cervix position and cervical fluid boxes and maybe if I was getting cramps, headaches, twinges etc and it tells you your fertile days on a sliding scale of 1-10. The two months I've used it I've conceived! It gives you a countdown to when you can test and tells you which cycle day you are on. I found it really useful! Good luck xx

Llindsey85 · 04/02/2016 20:14

I used OPK's this month but they were generally strong right from when my pregnancy tests went negative so I'm not fully convinced when I ovulated.

I use Ovia as well but not even that has any clues! All my boxes have question marks in them except for the CD.

Loki17 · 04/02/2016 20:26

I went to have my hair cut and coloured this evening and there was a hairdresser in the salon who was 18 weeks pregnant. She was chatting about her baby and showing every client the 4d scan she had just had. After the third time hearing about it I felt like I was going to burst into tears. It's lovely for her, I'm really glad for her, but it was so hard as her baby is due the week before mine should have been. I hate feeling like this. I really hope I didn't let it show. Can't wait for this af to be over so I can get my hormonal state back to normal.

redstrawberries101 · 04/02/2016 21:00

Aw totally understandable Loki, im afraid we just have to go through the motions. Every time I think of the due date I feel so sad as this year was going to be so different

To all those who have had BFP's can you do a recap please? When you miscarried, when you started to TTC and when you got your BFP. I need something to hold on to

obsessedlex · 04/02/2016 21:20

I14/10/15 had a scan and they saw a fetal pole and said I was about 4.5weeks (id gone in expecting to be 6) - was told yo come back in 10 days. I went back and saw the heartbeat on 23/10/15 and was told all was ok and measuring 6 weeks. Had a little spotting when I wiped on and off until 29/11 when I had cramping and so went for a scan on 39/11 when they said baby had died at about 8/9 weeks. I went in for ERPC the next day. Had some bleeding afterwards but not much. Took a test 3 weeks later as instructed and got a negative test. AF came 5.2weeks after ERPC on 7th Jan and I just got a very faint positive test today!!

obsessedlex · 04/02/2016 21:25

Sorry that was for cheeky xx

Brenna24 · 04/02/2016 22:12

Congratulations Twinkle. Two in one week. That is better Grin.

I have DH's lurgy and appear to be ovulating late this month. Which is great as we may not miss it after all. However we are supposed to be visiting my bro and SIL on saturday for dinner and SIL is due on the 18th of February. So I am a bit worried about going down and giving her the lurgy at this late stage. The last thing she wants is to be in labour and feeling like crap. We may have to postpone until after the baby is born and when nobody is ill.

AmyB1986 · 05/02/2016 00:00

Hi all- I'm awake with severe back pain and I cannot stop itching! Has anyone else had issues with dry skin since their mc? The backs of my hands are itchy and dry and my nipples I could literally tear off right now! Never had dry skin ever!

Brenna I hope your lurgy goes away soon Smile

Loki17 · 05/02/2016 06:30

U had the same Amy. invest in some Aveeno cream. its very soothing.

redstrawberries101 · 05/02/2016 07:45

Thanks obsessed!

Oh dear Amy that sounds not very nice. I second aveeno, think it's great!
