I just spotted that the old thread was now closed to new messages so thought I'd start another. The old thread for reference: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2457787-TTC-1-after-miscarriage-looking-for-some-buddies

I miscarried naturally, not sure exactly when everything turned loose but had some clots pass on the night of the 20th and another small on the 22nd.
I had been on depo injection so hadn't had a period until that bleeding started and thought it was my period returning until I peed on an OPK and then a pregnancy test. Would never have known I was miscarrying otherwise. The bleeding was heavy mosh for 10 days until those clots came away. I am just finishing a course of antibiotics my GP gave me also.
When I went for the scan at the EPU I still had a small amount of remaining tissue. Sometimes during surgery they do miss a tiny part of placenta which your body sends blood to which causes the hcg to stay. My pregnancy tests were still positive until this morning but very faint and barely visible.
Ask as many questions chick it's all for clarity and I feel the same as you. Just want it to be over like you. I have no one else to talk to apart from you lovely ladies here Smile

AmyB1986 · 31/01/2016 12:01

Loki that's brilliant! I did too Grin

HopefulKate1980 · 31/01/2016 12:03

Bless you thanks Amy. I feel alone apart from everyone on here! None of my friends or family really understand...

I am so sorry about your miscarriage. Was it the 20th of Dec or this month?

x

AmyB1986 · 31/01/2016 12:08

20th of this month. I logged everything in my phone calendar so I could keep track and show the EPU exactly what happened. They were very understanding.
I asked if I could have a D&C to clear what was left but they said because I was still passing bits it was probably best to let my body expel the rest. Seems to have taken a long time.
I'm going to ask at the GAU on Tuesday about have a pill to induce cramping. I still think there's something there. Only bloods will tell now

HopefulKate1980 · 31/01/2016 12:11

Your poor thing. Do you know how far along you were?

Hi Mrsunsure. Welcome! I am so sorry for your loss - I only joined this thread about a week ago but everyone has been so wonderful and supportive. I hope you find some comfort. It is such a distressing time and so confusing - it helps to talk to other people in the same situation. You will feel hopeful again, believe me. Do you mind me asking how old you are? Is it worth getting some tests? It may help you have some clarity?

Can anyone help me with a new query! I have just had a peak fertility result on an OPK after it being negative for a few days. I don't understand! I've had positive pregnancy tests for three days, after a few days of negatives, so presumed I had retained tissue. But why has the OPK changed? WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING? Am I about to ovulate? I had light brown bleeding on Friday and Saturday so I thought it was the start of my period. I don't understand. Any thoughts please?? x

AmyB1986 · 31/01/2016 12:31

Kate I have no idea how far along I was, going on symptoms I think around 7 weeks. Put my symptoms down to having surgery to remove my gallbladder a few weeks previously. Smells were making me feel sick and my boobs were on fire which I also put down to being a care worker and achy muscles!

Mrsunsure hello and welcome.
Sorry about your loss, it's an awfully hard time Thanks

AmyB1986 · 31/01/2016 12:34

Kate any chance you could be pregnant again? I said before a positive OPK was how I found out I was pregnant! Have you got another blood test scheduled? If the hormones going up rather than down you could have caught again

HopefulKate1980 · 31/01/2016 12:44

Amy - The doctor at the EPU on Friday said it was v v unlikely that I was pregnant again, and one of the other nurses said you need to have negative p tests for two weeks before it is possible to conceive. SO I had ruled it out but I am very confused by what is happening.

My boyfriend keeps saying he thinks I am pregnant but I don't think it can be possible. I got a negative p test twice last week and now they are positive again so think my hormones are fluctuating. Is it possible that I am ovulating for real do you think? Even if I have a positive pregnancy test??

xx

AmyB1986 · 31/01/2016 12:52

I have no idea Kate. Maybe wait for a week and test again if it's still positive contact the EPU again and tell them you want a scan for peace of mind and confirmation either way.

I have a query too. Is spotting classed as bleeding? If I count the day my bleeding turned to spotting as cycle day one would that be right?
If it is I'll be due for af on the 8th of Feb

HopefulKate1980 · 31/01/2016 13:00

Oh gosh Amy, I have no idea. Do you mean the bleeding from your MC?

I am so confused at what my body is doing. One minute I am getting negative OPKs and positive pregnancy tests so I presume my HCG levels are dropping off, the next day, they are both positive and I have tummy cramps. Does anyone have any clue what is happening? Has this happened to anyone else?

AmyB1986 · 31/01/2016 13:16

I don't know what's going on with my body either. Probably sound like a crazy woman lol!
Making a pact with myself now... No more test until I've had my blood results back on Wednesday.
I just checked my pregnancy test and it is still faintly positive. Couldn't see it because there was a lot of pink bleed lines across it and didn't wait to see when they disappeared.
I think after DTD last night it's triggered something because now I have blood spots in lots of mucus (sorry tmi) so guess it's not over yet!
I've had 3 weeks of positives now.
Fed up of running into leicester city Center to have bloods done, it's a nightmare getting to the Royal, road works everywhere. £2 parking to be in the hospital for all of 10 minutes Angry was hoping this week would be the last test but I'm thinking not now.

HopefulKate1980 · 31/01/2016 13:24

Oh god Amy. It sounds like you are going through the mill too.

That is great that the hospital is monitoring your bloods though? I feel like it's pulling teeth to get my EPU to do tests. I just want to know what is going on but they don't seem to have any answers.

AmyB1986 · 31/01/2016 13:49

I think they are monitoring more because they didn't know where my pregnancy had gone and I was down as a pregnancy unlocated! Thinking about it every pregnancy I've had problems with.
First pregnancy was high risk identical twin pregnancy which I lost at 21+5 after my waters were ruptured in a car accident. 10 years ago this year.
Had one chemical pregnancy two months after and heavy painful bleeding.
DD1 was a non identical twin, I had heavy bleeding with her at 5 weeks, bled constantly until 7 weeks and thought she was gone. Had a scan at 9 weeks and there she was swimming around happily but there was a sac next to her with nothing in it hence the bleeding. By 15 weeks she was all on her own.
DD2 started great, 21 weeks came and I thought I was in labour. Woke at 4am with the most intense pain I've ever felt, turned out to be a water infection. Then I caught swine flu and was ill for the rest of my pregnancy.
And now I've had this miscarriage too.
Sorry for the rant. I smashed a mirror by standing on it almost 7 years ago now (honest truth) and I think that's where my bad luck has come from.

I'm not a religious person but recently I've actually been praying, no begging for something good.

Loki17 · 31/01/2016 14:17

I've no idea about my fertile window. I hope not. I want af first and then I can feel like I'm starting again. I feel better than yesterday which is a good feeling.

smellsofelderberries · 31/01/2016 14:20

Kate I would be very careful if your pregnancy tests have started getting darker again or the my went negative and are now back to positive. It could be a new pregnancy but, and I don't want to scare you, but I would be worried about partial molar. That's where the pregnancy tissue can effectively grow back, which will start putting more HCG back into your system. They're very, very rare and I might have misread your situation, but I would be asking some questions and not let myself be fobbed off if I were you.

Loki so glad it went well for you! My poor DH- we had about a week when I felt okay to do it after 9 weeks of nothing and then I ovulated much sooner than I thought I would and am now really uninterested due to hormones!

HopefulKate1980 · 31/01/2016 14:35

Why would it be a partial molar pregnancy? Do you mean the tissue from the old pregnancy grows back? That sounds freaky! If I'm still getting positives by Thursday I'll call the EPU. Got a feeling something strange is happening...

Does anyone know whether the first egg after a mc is healthy or are they less healthy?

HopefulKate1980 · 31/01/2016 14:36

Amy - it sounds like you've had a really tough time. I'm so sorry. Xx

AmyB1986 · 31/01/2016 15:27

It has been really tough Kate but I'm still hopeful that we all will have the happy ending we deserve.
As someone said before, it never crossed my mind but it could be you have a partial molar pregnancy. You had a D&C didn't you? The EPU really should do more tests if you're still getting positive HPT's to confirm what is going on. For your peace of mind more than anything!

HopefulKate1980 · 31/01/2016 15:46

Thanks girls. The thought of more problems is really worrying me. I'll test again next week and hopefully I'll see a negative. Fingers crossed

Northernlight22 · 31/01/2016 16:01

Hi everyone, sorry for deserting - had to have a bit of a break as I've not been in a great place and posting here and reading comments really wasn't helping me.

It's coming up to what would have been my due date and I'm still struggling a lot as I hoped I'd be pregnant again by now but no such luck.

Loads of pregnancy announcements and babies being born too which has been tough, but I'm feeling a bit better this week so I'm dipping my toe in again :)

Mrsunsure ive not been given any advice as to why I miscarried this time just that 1 in 4 pregnancies end with miscarriage.
Northernlight I know what you mean. It's really hard discussing these things.

My friend came to visit me yesterday, she's 15 weeks pregnant, she knows about my situation and was very supportive. Not that I'm not happy for her because I totally am and wouldn't wish this on anyone but I feel a bit cheated.
