TTC #1 after miscarriage - looking for some buddies

Clareinthemiddle · 29/08/2015 13:29

I have been ttc for 10 months. I'm 34.
Took it very easy the first few months and then went for it with OPKs, no caffeine, reduced alcohol and got my BFP in May, but sadly mmc at 12 weeks (a few days before my scan). The little thing had not made it past 5.5 weeks :(
Took July off to recover and then back on it again in August. Heard/read a lot about increased fertility the few months after a miscarriage so was really convinced August would be my month, but af arrived yesterday. Absolutely devastated.
Can feel a very lonely place, especially as I either have friends who conceived within 1-3 months, or those who always knew they would have issues so started with IVF a few years back and have thankfully all been successful. I guess I just thought I would have an easy ride, as my sisters did, but no such luck.
Thought it would be nice to share the journey with others dealing with similar situations or with success stories after a miscarriage. Please say hello :)

So sorry to hear that vap, take care of yourself x

mascaraisamust · 23/11/2015 18:33

That's what I'm worried about maud, the fact it may not be viable and I could be just prolonging it. Got a 3+ yesterday so I thought that was a positive sign of it progressing. I'll test next week if things don't pick up and call the gp.

Brenna24 · 23/11/2015 18:51

Mascara the tests aren't very accurate, so don't be too worried if they wobble up and down. Frustratingly only time will tell. I have everything crossed for you.

Vap0 · 23/11/2015 19:32

mascara I'm so sorry you're having issues too! Sorry I've lost track of how far along you are? You're longer than 3 weeks aren't you? Do the tests go any further than 3+ or is that as far as they go? I've never used those ones. Have you tried any cheapies which show you a line that you could compare?

Thanks for all of your kind words ladies! More spotting but cramping has subsided.

Best of luck to everyone? Anyone testing any time soon? For ovulation or pregnancy? I think we need some good news!

MaudGonneMad · 23/11/2015 19:34

The clearblue tests date from conception, afaik. So 3+ would be 5+ weeks from LMP.

mascaraisamust · 23/11/2015 21:17

I got a 3+ which would work out right as I'm 5+2 now.x

DancingAngel15 · 24/11/2015 00:43

Hi ladies
Any one got any advice .
I am now passed my fertile week unless I'm going to ovulate late which could still be the soloution to my question

It has never happened before , I have been testing mu ovulation with clearblue ovulation kit.
Still no LH surge (now cycle day 18 & I usually get on cycle day 13-14 )

Been feeling really bloated , hungry , almost a tightness in my tummy , nausea & tired (exactly how I felt when I was last pregnant before my miscarriage )

Last month my AF was extremely short 2 1/2 days , I'm usually a 5-6 day person .

Could it be possible that wasn't my AF & I'm actually pregnant ? Or am I over thinking ?

I just can't help the feeling as just am lacking energy - if that wasn't my AF then it would make me 8weeks (when I found out last time & misscarried at 11weeks )
I had not got much symptoms except for the above .

I don't know if I'm at that wishful hopeful thinking stage --- early Christmas present ?

Vap0 · 24/11/2015 06:26

Morning dancing have you tested? you should get a pretty good line at 8 weeks if you are pregnant.

Vap0 · 24/11/2015 08:54

brenna have the pains subsided at all?

clara how are you feeling today! Have you tested again? When do you get your bloods back?

mascara thinking of you!

frankie has dp hidden your frer's yet?

I've been reading more about progesterone and it appears pretty much all ladies who have IVF or IUI are given it to sustain pregnancies in early days. It is far too widely used for it to not be of assistance.

Full of cold today. Caught from dp. Cramping and pinkish spotting going on here. No idea what to think. Test line looks slightly better than yesterday so still have everything crossed. Can't wait for these blood test results on Friday.

DancingAngel15 · 24/11/2015 09:01

No haven't tested as I'm not sure if my AF was my AF this month.

I could really do with doing so .

Brenna24 · 24/11/2015 09:13

I can see progesterone helping if you are not producing enough naturally and that was making it hard for you to hold on to the pregnancy. It would not have helped me in my last pregnancy as the baby died at about 8 weeks, but I didn't miscarry until 11.5 weeks. So my progesterone must have stayed high and my body was trying hard to hang on to that baby.

I am cramping and very sore and not enjoying working feeling terrible at work.

Brenna24 · 24/11/2015 09:14

Vap I am hoping Friday comes very quickly for you. I still have everything crossed.

AprilShowers16 · 24/11/2015 09:49

Hello just catching up with this thread and took a few days off mn to try not to obsess about pg too much. So sorry to everyone who is experiencing bleeding or spotting, such a scary thing for all of us after having been through such crap time. vap hope it all goes well for you, fx that this is just normal spotting

northern I may have missed your post, any update on AF?

I finally took another test this morning after being away all weekend. A most definite bfp and have felt quite sick since last night so it's looking good so far. 5+3 but had my mc at about 6 weeks before so trying not to think about it too much so pls excuse any absence from this thread - it may just be me needing not to think about pg too much

Vap0 · 24/11/2015 10:45

april so pleased to hear about your positive test! Do you have a pic to post? Or are you not quite as obsessed as I am? Great news (well kind of) about the sicknesses! Long may it last Grin

DancingAngel15 · 24/11/2015 12:32

So had no tests this morning so went & bought three

Done one now - isn't going to benefit me !
It didn't I will attach a picture

Oh Vap I'm so sorry. I've been feeling so emotional reading your posts. I really have everything crossed for your results.

And Mascara - hope all goes well with you.

Congratulations April!!

I'm still so nervous! Having lower back ache these last couple of days which is worrying me no end. I'm not sure when I'll feel relaxed. 12 week scan I guess.

Clarab0w · 24/11/2015 13:20

hi vap - so glad your spotting and cramping is easing off. it's such early days, there's a great chance that it's implantation bleeding or just everything settling in. small comfort though that is when you've been through the mill already though.

i'm feeling a bit calmer this minute - POAS again this morning and it's the darkest line yet, almost as dark as the control line. is that a good sign that it's progressing okay though, or just that HCG is going up (but progesterone could still be letting me down)? i'm not sure how much HCG actually means in terms of a pg being viable.

i had sore boobs for 24 hours and nothing since. i'm petrified because that's what happened last time. but does anyone have experience of this being normal and i'm just paranoid because of MC? no other symptoms either, really. surely something ought to be happening if it was going to be okay?

dancing I can't quite see properly - is that neg? sorry, rubbish eyesight? hope you get a clear answer either way.

mascara are you feeling ok? have the cramps faded yet? totally normal to have stretching and pulling, but understand it's terrifying...

brenna hope you're holed up somewhere with chocolate and a hot water bottle as soon as you can escape your desk.

and finally april - huge congrats! StarStarStar that's amazing! fingers crossed you have a smooth, zen ride of it. you've done great to be so patient! the 6 week mark will come in no time at all and then it's a whole new journey for you.

sorry it's been such a rollercoaster week all round, ladies. thinking of you too clare!

DancingAngel15 · 24/11/2015 13:52

My ex and his wife just had a baby. He's a lovely guy and deserves total happiness - still hard to think about though. Part of me feels like I'm being punished cause I was awful to him :-(

Vap0 · 24/11/2015 14:24

claire thanks for your well wishes. Is back pain bad? I just don't know what is a good or bad symptom although I'm sure all of us will take any symptom or lack of symptom as a potential worry. Fingers crossedfor you.
No sign of any bleeding yet and just have everything crossed that it doesn't happen. Cramping and spotting has stopped for now.
I wonder if the fear will ever go away until we hold our babies? I do hope so. I want to enjoy pregnancy.
dancing do you think you'll be 8weeks if positive? How much have you had to drink today before testing? Let's see what happens in the morning...
clara great news about such a dark line!
dancing that is lovely. Do they sell the little angel separately? I think I may get one, or perhaps hold off incase I need 2...

frankiepants1 · 24/11/2015 15:50

dancing that is lovely. and I also hope it's a lovely strong bfp for you!

lots of posts to catch up on, hoping you are all ok girls - vap I hope Friday comes soon for your results.

April lovely to hear from you, understandable that you're taking a little mn break away - im trying not to obsess and I'm not pregnant yet!!

DH hasn't hid my frers yet, I haven't actually confessed to him how many I have! maybe I'll just give him a mystery package to hide?! Or hide out in the shed?!
I am CD10 today, was going to hold off using OPK until CD12, but have some interesting cm so I'm tempted to use tomorrow - I usually ov CD14, but wss CD16 last month - what you all think? I'm dtd tonight regardless, haha!! Grin
going for my 1st Brazilian wax in a loooooong time tomorrow, can't wait!! (sorry if tmi!)

xxx

Clarab0w · 24/11/2015 16:10

hahahaha, oh god frankie, your waxing excitement cracked me up! thanks for making me splutter water all over my keyboard; i needed that laugh! Grin

AprilShowers16 · 24/11/2015 16:41

Thank you for your kind wishes everyone, vap I'll try and take a photo of the test later when my DH isn't around - he'll think I've gone mad. clara my main tactic for being patient has just been to keep busy and try to act as if I'm not pg. As I said not even booked the midwife appointment yet for fear of having to cancel it like I did last time. Feeling like it's probably a good thing to have your 1st trimester in the lead up to xmas as time always flies during these months!

dancing lovely idea about the angel, I keep thinking I'd like to get something to remember the baby we'll never meet but can't bring myself to think about it too much. I still have the little scan photo from v. early days next to my bed, it feels too sad to put it away in a box somewhere but it's also very upsetting every time I find it.

DancingAngel15 · 24/11/2015 19:36

Vap they gave me the Angel as an extra gift I did not need to pay for it I thought it was lovely !
I was able to personalise it myself .
It is now beside my bed until my Christmas tree is up
