TTC #1 after miscarriage - looking for some buddies

1000 replies

Clareinthemiddle · 29/08/2015 13:29

I have been ttc for 10 months. I'm 34.
Took it very easy the first few months and then went for it with OPKs, no caffeine, reduced alcohol and got my BFP in May, but sadly mmc at 12 weeks (a few days before my scan). The little thing had not made it past 5.5 weeks :(
Took July off to recover and then back on it again in August. Heard/read a lot about increased fertility the few months after a miscarriage so was really convinced August would be my month, but af arrived yesterday. Absolutely devastated.
Can feel a very lonely place, especially as I either have friends who conceived within 1-3 months, or those who always knew they would have issues so started with IVF a few years back and have thankfully all been successful. I guess I just thought I would have an easy ride, as my sisters did, but no such luck.
Thought it would be nice to share the journey with others dealing with similar situations or with success stories after a miscarriage. Please say hello :)

Thank you for the welcome I'm glad to find those who know how I feel !
Have any of you taking pregnacare for conception ?
Any side effects ?
My AF came on time but only lasted for 2 1/2 days .

frankiepants1 · 12/11/2015 22:30

hey dancing, welcome! I take the sevenseas trying for a baby tablets, no side effects from them. I'm sure I've read someone saying their pee smelled funny and was bright yellow using the pregnacare?

testing in the morning, will be 11 or poss 12dpo. I'm nervous. I also had a few wines last night and I'm feeling awful about it now. will post tomorrow once I've tested.

hope everyone's ok xxx

Vap0 · 12/11/2015 22:56

Good luck frankie
Don't worry about the wines, it's far too early to do any damage

MountainMouse · 12/11/2015 22:58

Fingers crossed Frankie! Don't worry about the wine- we need it to relax. I'm going to try and wait until Tuesday to test.

Sorry for your loss Dancing Flowers

DancingAngel15 · 12/11/2015 23:01

Good luck frankie I'll be on to see if you have good news To share ! Let's hope that wine was celebrating SmileWine how I wish I was in your shoes Confused

I'm going to stick with pregnacare see how cycle #2 using them goes !

Urine seems ok & I wouldn't be the most hydrated women in the world Hmm

Sakura03 · 13/11/2015 08:36

Good luck frankie hope it's a BFP for you. dancing I did try pregnacare for 3 months but they changed my cycles and brought on loads of symptoms oh yeah my urine turned luminous yellow (but that was the least of my worries). I changed to sevenseas trying for a baby and will stick with them. My Dr told me there is actually no need for anything more than folic acid and vitamin D provided you eat a varied diet. Cd7 here so boring....

frankiepants1 · 13/11/2015 08:56

Thanks girls ^ Smile

well, a BFN. not even the hint of a 2nd line :(
AF due tomorrow, but if I ov'd late then not sure if that means AF due late too? so poss Mon. not sure when to test again now - do I have the patience to wait it out for AF?!

April, Northern have you girls tested?!!

xxx

Brenna24 · 13/11/2015 09:33

No side effects from the pregnacare apart from the luminous yellow pee which amuses me immensely.

So sorry about the BFN Frankie. Maybe just a few days early.

I'm halfway through my TWW. Nearly there. I know I ovulated but I don't think we DTD at the right time, so not really optimistic. Plus we are not supposed to be trying this month as we were told to wait 1 cycle after the mc. I am a bit worried that OH is away next month for a week. It will hopefully be the week after my fertile window but sods law says that my fertile window will move to compensate.

Clarab0w · 13/11/2015 10:29

hi dancing - sorry what you've been through to join us here, but nice to have you with us Smile. i take pregnacare (though not for conception, still working my way through the lot i bought for pregnancy as figure it's more or less the same?) and no side effects over here, not even pee-related ones! i do drink a lot of water though...

frankie that's disappointing, but sounds like you've just jumped the gun a bit! fingers crossed it's just a bit early and your BFP is still brewing.

brenna me too - i'm on CD24 which ordinarily would mean AF due in 4 or 5 days, but just started using Ovia and it's telling me not to test for 9 days - guess this cycle's a bit messed up from the MC. but pretty sure like you there's not much hope as we only DTD once the day before OV (i think anyway) before i had to go to canada for work... trying to think of this cycle as 'preparing the ground' for the proper go on the TTC merry-go-round!

frankiepants1 · 13/11/2015 11:01

Thanks girls, I'm hoping I'm just too early in testing too - going to buy more tests today as know I will want to test tomorrow again! still got alot of creamy cm and cramps - fc it's good!

Clara I just started using the ovia app too, it's really good isn't it? Do you think you'll go by when it's telling you to test or by when you think you're AF would normally be due?

fc for you Clara and Brenna, you never know! it only takes one .........Grin

DancingAngel15 · 13/11/2015 11:27

I swear by the ovia app it's pretty useful

AprilShowers16 · 13/11/2015 12:47

frankie sorry to hear about your BFN, hoping too that's it a bit early for testing. I'm torn between testing on Sunday when AF is due or waiting until Monday. Got quite a busy weekend so will prob buy test on Sunday and then hold out until Monday morning wee :)

DancingAngel15 · 13/11/2015 13:40

Goodluck april

Northernlight22 · 13/11/2015 13:43

Negative here at the mo - no hint of a line as much as I'm straining to see one but hey, there's still hope til cd1!

I use the Ovia app too, really like it.

frankiepants1 · 13/11/2015 14:51

northern I strained too, then bust it open to look inside Grin

I've also just been in to town and bought 4 early results tests - sooooooo tempted to use one again!!! gah, someone stop me!

mascaraisamust · 13/11/2015 18:19

Cheering you on ladies! Ovia was three days out on my AF. FF predicted the correct date. Hoping for weekend bfps. I'm going to retest tomorrow morning to make sure everything still going on. Not sure how I'm going to keep it secret at this meal tomorrow night though. It's close family and they will tell...

rhodes15 · 13/11/2015 20:44

Hi Clara
**
Thanks for thinking of me. I did have a scan today. We saw the heartbeat. I'm beyond happy. Just keeping everything crossed for the next few weeks know we aren't out of the woods yet. But we are in the right direction thank god!

frankiepants1 · 13/11/2015 21:10

that's wonderful Rhodes! did they tell you how far along you were?

I did something potentially naughty........I brought my pregnancy test home as was staying at my SILs and couldn't throw away in her bin. so tonight I found it when unpacking and got the torch out on my phone - very very faint line. now I don't know if it was there this morning and I just couldn't see, or if it's just appeared and I should disregard?
not sure how I can post a pic for you all? I'll be retesting in the morning again anyway now so I'll let you all know! xxx

mascaraisamust · 14/11/2015 07:02

Frankie, everything crossed for you!!

Rhodes great news.

I've got to go buy a test and double check all is ok after the light spotting and if it's still a bfp (please, please, please), I either needs to think of some poor excuses for not drinking tonight or fess up to my mum!

mascaraisamust · 14/11/2015 08:29

Frankie any news? X

sundayraspberry · 14/11/2015 08:32

I'm still here too! Keeping an eye out for some more bfps. Good luck to all due to test x

mascaraisamust · 14/11/2015 08:33

How are you getting on Sunday?

Clareinthemiddle · 14/11/2015 09:28

Great news Rhodes!!!! Yes how many weeks/days are you?

Are you going for an early scan mascara and Sunday?

Monday at 17.30 can't come quick enough for me!!!

Sorry for your loses Ale. 2 in a row must have been devastating, and I guess the Drs won't offer any help until you have 3!?!

Frankiepants - I believe lines can appear later (evap lines) so I would probably discard and test again.
