Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Best wishes,
K x

When you getting married ren congratulations

ren2903 · 05/01/2016 18:05

Thank you. In the spring. Just a small quiet one but still lots to organise!

MrsBac83 · 05/01/2016 19:19

Ooh congratulations Ren.
Look at the silver lining - you won't be suffering morning sickness for your big day! Hopefully it will happen soon for you though. X

I'm with you all on taking a step back. My new focus is losing weight - joining slimming world Thursday - I'd like to lose a stone before gaining it again through pregnancy lol.

Paige43 · 08/01/2016 21:13

How was slimming world MrsBac?

MrsBac83 · 08/01/2016 23:42

Good thanks Paige.
Sounds too good to be true with all the foods you eat but we shall see. Smile
It actually had a few good pointers for pregnant women, foods to avoid/increase. And there's a special booklet so you can still follow it to some extent when pregnant. The 'diet' is basically just healthy eating so won't do any harm. I doubt you do the weigh in though, that wouldn't be fair lol.

Paige43 · 08/01/2016 23:53

Lol. You will have to let us know how your getting on in a few week Smile

MrsBac83 · 09/01/2016 10:13

Will do. I'm aiming to lose a stone by Easter, should be do-able. Hopefully a little bfp in the meantime x

We must be due another bfp soon. We had a nice little run of them before Christmas. Is anyone due to test soon?
Good luck if you are! X

Paige43 · 09/01/2016 13:52

That's do-able for sure!

Yes we did have a flurry and hopefully that happends again soon.

AF due on Wednesday.
X

ren2903 · 11/01/2016 17:48

AF due for me at end of month. Haven't looked at my ap since recording my last AF day and feeling good about it.

I am also on a mission to lose some weight put on over Xmas!

Woody096 · 11/01/2016 18:16

Hi ladies!

I too have been ignoring my app! I had an appointment with a consultant about the PCOS and he advised me to ditch the opk and apps. He did say I will probably have to have some medication to ensure I ovulate but his experience is that opk & apps tend to make people more stressed & less likely to get pregnant. He was very sweet said it took his wife 6 years to conceive and then she fell pregnant with #2 within 3 months of giving birth! So I am going to be chilled, have a dry January, up my gym attendance & not stress and get ready for my hols!

Paige43 · 11/01/2016 19:50

Positive thinking ladies!

Lets hope that taking our mind of it will help x

Paige43 · 12/01/2016 13:51

Looks like the witch is on here way ETA tomorrow morning, going by past experience. TBC I knew there would be a slim chance this month.

Right, I said if she shows up I was going to book a holiday, better start looking....

Pixie1988 · 14/01/2016 19:05

Pixie1988 · 21/01/2016 14:41

Hey how are we all? I'm in my 2ww now. Af due 1st-5th Feb. Anyone else due around the same time? This is cycle 7 and I'm getting impatient now Sad

My best friend also gave birth to her first last week so have been round to have cuddles which I loved, however has just made my desire to have my own child stronger which in turn has made me go on a downer that it's not happening so trying to snap myself out of it!!

We're about due a bfp on this thread, not had one for a while, wishing everyone the best of luck x

Paige43 · 22/01/2016 09:08

Hi Pixie

Hope it will be good news for you.

I have not been using OPKs, temping or tracking CM and I must say it's been refreshing. I've come to the conclusion that ttc to a degree is out of your control, so instead of being worried all the time and getting myself into a state every month I've decided to take a staple back approach, and ATM I'm a lot happier in myself. The desire to have a family is the same, however I'm just not letting it take over my life like I once did and beating myself up and feeling like I'm not normal, or feeling like I've done something wrong.

I know my window is next week so while we will make an effort to bed, I won't get stressed if we don't. The idea is to bed as often as we can.

Had bloods taken the end of last year and Dr said I'm ovulating my level was 14, although some post I have read said it needs to be above 30. Anyways, we are going to try this approach for the next 6 months and if nothing happens we will be asked to be referred.

Hopefully we will have another wave of bfp on here soon x

Woody096 · 22/01/2016 10:03

Morning ladies!

I have been the same, no apps no opk kits! It's been quite nice & much less stressful!

I know that AF iS due in about 10 days!

I think we are due a BFP, So will keep fingers crossed that I hear some good news from one of you lovely ladies xx

MrsBac83 · 22/01/2016 10:16

Hello ladies

Glad to hear you're all a bit more relaxed. I'm the same, trying to step back a little. I do look at the app so I know AF is due Monday but I'm not hopeful for this month.
I did have a bit of a tiz at poor hubby when I knew I was in my window because we just didn't seem to be getting to dtd. I think we need to as much as possible as you said Paige and just hope for the best. Next month I'll try not to look at app at all.

On the plus side I've lost 3lb in 2 weeks on SW 👍

Have a good weekend each! X

Paige43 · 22/01/2016 10:39

Well done MrsBac

ren2903 · 24/01/2016 19:58

Hi All,

I'm still keeping away from the app and OPKs. I've even had a few drinks a couple of night this week as we have been away for a family funeral and I've not felt guilty. Almost forgot AF is due soon.

Well done on the weight loss mrs bac I'm still working on losing my Xmas weight :-)

MrsBac83 · 28/01/2016 13:39

Hi all.
Has anyone else had their periods change? I know cycle length can change but actual period length? I was averaging 26 day cycle, give or take but always only bleeding for 4. And last day was nothing more than heavy spotting. Like this for 6 months. Then this month was at 24 days I think and I'm still heavy spotting 6 days in! FFS! Have no idea where I am now!

ren2903 · 29/01/2016 21:06

I've not had anything like that but maybe it could be linked to your weight loss?

AF has arrived for me today but I'm feeling ok and still fairly relaxed. :-)

MrsBac83 · 30/01/2016 21:53

Yeah I did wonder if it was to do with change of diet ren. I'm eating much healthier so can only be a good thing.

Bummer AF arrived. Sounds like you're in a good place considering though x

Pixie1988 · 01/02/2016 08:22

Hi all need your advice, af due between today-wed, I'm in cycle day 31, caved in this morning and did an Internet cheapie and this....
