New here TTC baby #1 Cycle #1

Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Hi, new to this but also in a big emotional struggle too. Almost 35, TTC #1, cycle #1 and CD 20. Still another 9 days to go but the excitement is now all turning into paranoia. Doesn't help that I've not been drinking over Christmas, on antibiotics and have been surrounded by friends and family who all have lots of kids in the past 1-5 years. Seriously, there is only one other couple in my group of friends that don't have any yet and they are also TTC, so mania is on the horizon!

And totally agreed, being off work means fewer distractions. I swear I'm gradually going crazy and over thinking everything three times over...

Planning on starting to chart next month, though getting confused by what basal thermometer to get Confused

So so far I think I have had some form of chocolate dessert every day Blush. It's safe to say I have had many food babies lol.

I've managed to keep myself busy so far so not really thought about it too much.

I got my thermometer for Amazon only cost a few pounds and it seems to work ok :)

Hi all. Christmas was hard here. I should have been 21 weeks on christmas eve. We went to midnight mass and I was finding it quite hard all the sermons about the birth of jesus and the procession with him to put him in the manger. Then someone asked me when I was due. I was really struggling over christmas but still trying, then we went to church on sunday and it was the day of the holy family and the sermon on the importance of family and children pushed me over the edge. I had a really bad couple of days. I am up and a bit better now though.

Welcome d93. I got a thermometer from Amazon too. It came with 10 IC LH tests and 10 IC HCG tests. It works fine.

Oh Brenna that is so awful for you! You poor thing, people can be very insensitive. I hope the new year brings you some joy x

Paige - I am going dairy free from Jan to assist with pcos symptoms (namely my awful skin) so in true dieters style getting in a years worth of chocolate now.

I am umming about giving the whole fertility app & symptom spotting a break. I am having more PCOS tests next week and DH has booked an appt with his Dr as he is worried it is him. We are also travelling around NZ & Oz for 4 weeks in feb so think I may just look forward to that, despite my dreams of being in maternity summer wear!

Yes I got my thermometer from Amazon too, it's called babymad something in pink. I'm taking my temp every morning but think it will take a couple of cycles to understand it all! Is temp supposed to rise after ovulation?

Yes there's been a few tears this Christmas for me and I'm taking myself off facebook for a while as I'm finding it just makes me feel worse! I need to find something else to focus on as well as just waiting is driving me nuts! I might take up knitting!

Brenna hang in there, it sounds like its been a tough few days for you. My emotions are so up and down at the minute, have had a close friend announce pg this week which is absolutely wonderful but also brings with it emotions of its own. Everywhere I look I see children and babies.

Morning all.
I need your opinion. I got a few opk and took one this morning. What you reckon? Positive or Negative? Normally I get what i think are ovulation pains so I have a idea when I might be ovulating however I've had nothing so far.

Hi Paige. I get 2 days in a row that dark each month. I'd call that a positive.

I feel a bit better. I had a couple of days off doing anything, just walked the dog and read books/watched movies. I feel better now. DH has been wonderful, doing all the cooking and dishes and generally spoiling me. That helped too. Today we went to see two very close friends. It was lovely. Then we met the new boyfriend of one of them. Then we went to see my friend in the hospice. That was hard as she had been out of bed in a chair for an hour for the first time in 3 weeks and she was shattered and in and out of sleep when we got there. I think she had quite a headache too. When she did wake up she was too tired to speak.

Well husband mum wasn't well last night so was home alone again last night. Well I say wasn't well more like too drunk to look after herself. Can't believe I've missed it AGAIN is was very angry and upset last night all because of his stupid drunk mother. I don't get on with the in laws any more lol.

That sucks Paige. Sperm last a few days in you system though so if you have DTD in the last couple of day that may be enough.

Tell me about it Brenna. true but to be honest I'm not getting my hopes up at all. I'm pretty sure I missed it :(. It's not the first time I've missed. Always something comes up around that time. Maybe it's the gods trying to tell me something.

Sorry to here you are having a bad time paige how long have you been TTC?? I know how you feel, when I got af this month, it hit me particularly hard - just thought it would have happened by now. I tried to take the relaxed approach the last couple of months, no opks etc, still hasn't worked so have ordered some more plus some conceive plus for this month. Chin up x

Been off the pill for a year now so not that long compared to some people. I just found the stress of the planning a bit too much and was getting me down, and bedding slowly became a chore lol. I found myself planning things around my cycle. Not the way to go. Hopefully a break will do both us some good. I'm going to focus on booking a few holidays instead :).

Happy new year!

Sounds like we have all had a mixed bag over the festive season, here is to lots of BFPs and happy times in 2016 :-)

AF arrived for me just before new year, so this year I am ditching the OPKs and only using my app to record AF.

To keep myself busy I will be planning a wedding and finishing off renovations on our house!

If we've had no luck by the 1year point I will toddle off to the docs to see if anything is amiss.
