Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Best wishes,
K x

Welcome Bubbapup! This is a very lucky thread lots of BFPs! The waiting is the worst!

I was advised to use OPK from day 7, got a positive OPK on day 10 so I think I have been ovulating just earlier rather later as a long cycle may suggest! Will keep you posted! Hope you are all well xx

Brenna24 · 10/12/2015 20:00

Hi Bubbapup and welcome. I hope this month i your lucky month.

I am in my tww too. CD 19 for me and I am going to test on christmas eve (if I last that long).

Woody096 · 12/12/2015 08:33

Fx Brenna! How are you feeling?
I am due to test on New Year's Eve!!

Brenna24 · 12/12/2015 13:13

I am a little crampy today, and gagged cleaning up a broken egg in the egg box. Which was weird. I spent my childhood growing up around farms and stables, I've had animals my whole life, cleaned up just about every form of yuck known to man. Worked in vets, farms, stables, laboratories and, crucially, an egg grading and boxing factory and nothing makes me gag. I am only 5 dpo though. A bit early to be feeling anything. Who knows.

Paige43 · 13/12/2015 23:40

Welcome Bubbapup I hope you get a bfp soon x

AF has started. Knew it wouldn't be my month this month, but nevertheless as each month passes it gets more depressing. Went to wedding yesterday. All day I got why you not pregnant yet or when you having a baby. I didn't know what to say and felt very uncomfortable. This joined by a friends constant whatapp photos of her baby (group message) and constantly saying how lucky she is and how wonderful being a mum is, has really made it hard the last few weeks.

Do you ever just get the feeling now and again that when it comes to having a family, you pulled the short straw? X

ren2903 · 14/12/2015 13:49

Hi Page.

Sorry to hear you have been having a rough time and I can totally relate. What cycle are you on now?

We are now on cycle 6 and I have to admit for the first time this month hearing news of others pregnancies has made me a bit sad that we aren't there yet (when I say sad I actually mean I had a complete meltdown!)

It's starting to feel like everyone around me is pregnant or has already got a baby!

I'm still waiting for my solid smiley this month, I've been getting lots of flashing ones!

It sounds like quite a few of us might be in the 2ww over Xmas, how are we all going to cope!?!

Paige43 · 14/12/2015 21:45

Hi Ren

We are cycle 7. It sucks doesn't it. I have 4 friends pregant at the moment and I'm finding it difficult. I hope you get that smile soon.

I'm going to try keep myself busy over Xmas and enjoy it. Might look at holidays for the new year :).

Brenna24 · 14/12/2015 22:37

Sorry you are feeling so down Paige. We have been TTC since May too. Slightly different in that we have had one conception in that time but no further forward for it. Sad I hope both you and I will be holding our babies at some point by the end of next year. Christmas makes it harder as it is such a milestone. It is so unfair for people to be asking you.

Ren I hope you get your bfp after christmas. I test on christmas eve (if I can wait that long). AF is due between the sunday and tuesday before that, so if she hasn't arrived by christmas eve I cann be fairly sure that a negative would be real and I can then have a glass of wine on christmas day if negative as consolation.

I am still painting my freaking bedroom after a week. It took 5 coats to cover over the old colour which I inherited from the previous owners. I am still doing the cornicing around the room though.

Woody096 · 15/12/2015 00:00

Aw Paige I am sorry to hear you are feeling down! It is very tricky especially with others who seem fall pregnant at the drop of hat.

I had a few friends ask if we were trying & initially said no. I have now told them we are & difficulties re pcos. I have found that I don't get asked so many questions now so kind of a relief!

In my mind I thought I would be few months pregnant by now so I understand how you are feeling! Fx it will happen soon!xx

Woody096 · 21/12/2015 23:33

Hey ladies!

How are you doing? All ready for Xmas & hopefully some bfp's?x

ren2903 · 22/12/2015 11:53

All ready for Xmas and patiently waiting for BFP or AF. Think I'm going to start testing on Xmas eve even though it's a bit early, I bought some cheapies especially for the Xmas 2ww (mad I know)

Think if it's a no this month I may stop using ov sticks as think i might be getting a bit too involved with testing and tracking on my ap! Maybe taking a step back may be good for the whole process x

ren2903 · 22/12/2015 11:58

How is everyone else?

Paige43 · 22/12/2015 20:46

Hey everyone. Hope your all ok.

Like you ren I think after this month I'm going to take a step back for a few months, it's stressing me out too much which isn't helping.

Brenna24 · 22/12/2015 23:00

Hi all.

Woody I am nowhere near ready for christmas. Barely started in fact. I have sent parcels to my sister in China, my Mum in France and my in laws in Italy. That is it. After my MC, then my nieces MC, then a friend going into hospital with a suddenly recurring brain tumour I have had no time or mental space to look more than a day ahead. Plus I demolished my bedroom all over the house to paint it and it turned out to be a 2 week job not a 1 week as I was doing it around work and it was more involved than I expected. The bedroom is reassembled but the rest of the house is a pit of doom and despair. On the plus side AF is late and I have morning sickness, stretchy uterus feeling, sore boobs and lots of other familiar little niggles. I am going to test in the morning but I think I know the answer already.

Sorry things are getting to you Ren and Paige. I hope a couple of months of stepping back makes things a bit more fun again (and even better brings a BFP).

Tomorrow I am off work and waiting for a parcel. I intend to gut the house then. Tree up tomorrow night.

Paige43 · 23/12/2015 09:38

Brenna sorry to hear of all the bad news :(. Hope your friend gets the help she needs to recover.

You signs sound promising. Fingers crossed x

Brenna24 · 23/12/2015 10:19

Took 2 tests this morning, an IC and a FRER. Both negative. Sad

Woody096 · 23/12/2015 15:20

Aw Brenna that all sounds extremely stressful! Hope your friend is ok? Not the Xmas you had planned for! I am off to my parents for Xmas fortunately my in laws are coming too so no travel, which is good as my house is a tip, my dining room has been in a state of refurbishment since June!! So I know the feeling Brenna!

I think taking a step back is a good idea, I haven't been symptom spotting or tracking that much and actually forgot my Af is due next week! Having said that if one more friend tells me their recent pregnancy was an accident I may scream!

Finish work today!! Woo!!

Woody096 · 23/12/2015 15:22

Ps Brenna I didn't read your second message. Sorry to hear it's a bfn, is it possible it is too early?x

Brenna24 · 23/12/2015 16:38

I wouldn't have thought so. I am 16 dpo.

Pixie1988 · 24/12/2015 09:41

Sorry to hear about your friend and bfp brenna,

I stopped doing ovulation sticks two
months back and it's sorta worked, not obsessing as much, think Xmas is making me forget about 2ww. Good luck girls.

I am all sorted for Xmas, working Xmas day and Boxing Day though :-(

Merry Christmas everyone and I hope 2016 is all our lucky year!! X x

Brenna24 · 24/12/2015 10:37

The witch has arrived. On the plus side, I have now declared DH is driving over christmas and I get wine Grin

Woody096 · 24/12/2015 13:59

I caved today and did a test (I know, loser!) it's seven days early and BFN! Which I suspected! Ho hum! Big fat glasses of wine for me!

Pixie that is rough working over Xmas! Poor you!x

Paige43 · 28/12/2015 00:54

How is everyone? I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas x

Woody096 · 28/12/2015 12:15

Hey Paige! Christmas was lovely! Totally over indulged made worse by AF approaching! Gah! I need to put the chocolates down!

esmeraldathistle · 28/12/2015 14:16

Hello ladies am with you on the emotional struggle side, I never thought I would feel this way about ttc.

I'm in my tww I am off work this week so am enjoying the time off but also think it gives me too much time to over analyse everything! I only ovulated yesterday (positive opk test and am attempting to temp chart but not sure I'm doing it right!)
