Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Best wishes,
K x

I normally feel ovulation pains for hours and hours when I ovulate. yesterday it was from 12md until I went to bed, but today's pains were on the opposite site. It wasn't as intense as yesterday's, but I'm almost certain it's O pain - I've had it for most of the afternoon/evening on and off - so who knows!

Im brand new to the TTC game. Had hoped to be very casual about it but some weird goings on have grabbed my attention. Am normally very regular and predictable with zero spotting until 2 days before AF,but this month i had twinges which im sure were ovulation as ive felt that before so took the necessary action. However ive been spotting very lightly ever since, and im 5 days before AF. Could this be a sign? It seems too early for implantation bleeding as it started just 3dpo, but if its not i have no idea whats going on with my usually very 'normal' cycle. Trying not to get my hopes up as its only month 1...

Hi! Do you mind if I join? I'm ttc #1 am on cycle #2 currently in 2ww AF due on 22nd August! Had positive ovulation tests this cycle so fx!
Had pretty major surgery for fibroids and endometriosis in April so am hoping for a miracle as I'm 37 now!
Good luck girls x

Katilo2 · 11/08/2015 08:33

I can't offer any advice Sunflower - haven't got to that stage yet.. When are you going to test?

Hi Lisa. AF is due on the 22nd for me too..! I haven't been charting or temping or anything. I have used the period tracker app for about 18'months and it's usually pretty accurate. My cycles are anything from 28-34 days. I used to feel ovulation most months but then it stopped. So happy I felt it this month when ttc (maybe even twice!) gives me a good idea when to DBD. Because of yesterday's pains we DBD last night just incase, had a horrible thought that maybe for whatever reason I didn't ovulate successfully on Sunday and yesterday's was actual ovulation and not a second.

Best wishes

Hi katilo! I'll have my fingers crossed for you too! I haven't been temping but have been using fertility app ovia which is quite useful and brought a job lot of ovulation tests from Amazon to see what was going on. I did have a very regular cycle prior to surgery despite all my issues which seems to have come back. My cycle is usually 26-27 days I know I only had until Xmas then I have to be referred to fertility clinic for probable IVF so I'm trying really hard and monitoring my cycle closely without trying to get obsessed!! Easier said than done tho....

Does anyone fancy making a list of when they are going to test? Then we can see how we all get on as the month goes by!

I'll start:

Name: Lily
Age: 30
Cycle: #1
Testing: 22 August I think (if I can hold out that long and AF hasn't turned up!)

Katilo2 · 11/08/2015 19:19

Its quite hard not to obsess though isn't it? I have everything crossed that it happens before Christmas for you.. You have a good few months! I have to keep reminding myself of the negative effects of stress so I don't get too caught up in it all.

Excellent idea Lily.

Name: Kat
Age: 28
Cycle: #1
Baby: # 1
Testing: AF due on 22nd August (will try to wait until then, but like a lot of you, I am an amazon customer and bought 15 cheap tests!)

For those of you who have been pregnant before, have you had symptoms before bfp?

Best wishes,
K x

The 22nd of August is popular ;)

xmaslisa · 11/08/2015 19:31

Name: Lisa
Age: 37
Cycle #2
Baby#1
Testing: 22nd August also!..(will hang on in there and wait!)

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 11/08/2015 19:33

I stole the idea from another thread.. they have spreadsheets going and everything, so organised.. I love it! Well I am a Project Manger so I love a bit of planning :)

xmaslisa · 11/08/2015 19:36

not been pregnant before but I think the main ones are
implantation bleeding(brown)
Tender boobies!
Nausea
Tiredness
Some don't even have any of these and just get a missed period...Confused
It's a minefield!! You spend half your life on contraceptives trying to avoid it then bam! Obsession!!Grin

xmaslisa · 11/08/2015 19:37

Fab idea lily!

Katilo2 · 11/08/2015 19:40

It's so frustrating.. From now until AF, I will feel all of those symptoms and will convince myself I'm pregnant. Then, I'll be crushed!

xmaslisa · 11/08/2015 20:10

Yep! Me too!! Sad

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 11/08/2015 20:32

I'm convinced my food tastes different! So over thinking everything lol! Doesn't help that my DH asks me every day if I think I'm pregnant.. He's more excited than me!

sophied1983 · 11/08/2015 20:34

My second AF was due 8 days ago but no sign of that. Also no ovulation symptoms, which I did have with first AF after coming off Pill. Feeling a bit stressed out today as impossible to know when fertile window is :'(

Sunflower86 · 11/08/2015 22:10

Thats a good idea, can I join in...
Name: Ali
Age: 28
Cycle: #1
Baby: #1
Testing: 18th august

Ive had one of those symptoms from the list, which isnt very convincing. But its month #1 so ill keep optimistic and enjoy the journey and try try try not to get my hopes up for the 18th...

Monkey1987 · 12/08/2015 11:03

Like this idea!

Name: Monkey
Age: 28
Cycle: #1
Baby: #1
Testing: AF due 23rd so will probably test a couple of days after that if I'm late!

Not had any symptoms so far other than some AF related but think it's probably too early to tell!

Pixie1988 · 12/08/2015 14:41

Name: pixie
Age: 27
Cycle: #1
Baby: #1
Testing: 26th August (I think! - only had one period since coming off contraception - which stopped my period- so im guessing how long my cycles are)

In the middle of my fertile window and still not had a positive opk ????

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 12/08/2015 14:58

Oh please may I join too? (I think I've joined a few threads now... hope that's okay! Just a bit excited).

Pixie1988 · 12/08/2015 19:14

I think I'm having ovulation pains like what you ladies were describing a few days ago so took a opk and first positive yay!! Just waiting for DP to get home so I can jump on him. Tmi sorry lol x

Katilo2 · 12/08/2015 19:27

Now 3dpo and so any symptoms I am 'feeling' are most likely imaginary.. But I just ate a meal that I normally love and it was SO salty. OH didn't agree though.. Naturally, the thing to do in this situation is scour the internet looking for salty that in mouth in very early pregnancy.......

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 12/08/2015 19:51

Lily - you are my idol. I'm currently watching bake-off whilst googling.. (My bad) I don't remember having this many twinges before.. I guess I'm just trying to tune in to my body more at the minute.. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 12/08/2015 22:14

I enjoyed Bake Off this evening whilst eating a pack of oreos.. Bliss! Not had any twinges or pain, apart from thinking some food tastes a bit strange the only other thing I've been keeping an eye on is my CM which isn't following any sort of pattern at all! It's so hard not to get your hopes up first time round huh? x
