Hi any new starters on clomid
I just started my first round of clomid 50mg (3-7) had my scan on day 12 , two mature follicles on right and small one on left.
Had no side effects from taking clomid,but ovulation was so painful that I could hardly walk.

Would love to hear from other people there experience on clomid ..

Been trying for 3 years,miscarriage last year at 4 months, I do ovulate but not enough to substation a pregnancy,hence the clomid .hubby is fine with his sperm.. Am levels are low as well

Hello :) I am taking my first Clomid tablet tonight and I'm rather excited! Been TTC #1 for 14 months since coming off the pill. AF never returned and I've recently had a lap and dye which was all good. It would be great to share the journey with you :)

It's all very exciting....I took my clomid at night so I didn't have side effect throughout the day,but was fine... What amount are you on and what days are you taking yours,also are you being monitered by a doctor..

Hi Jackster I am on 50mg for five days. I been having what I think is a very light AF since Saturday, so I'm starting today and having a day 21 blood test later in the month. It's great to feel like we're finally making progress - we have the Conceive Plus at the ready!! I was told to take it at night - here's hoping for a Clomid baby for us.

I took 50 mg last month and it did absolutely nothing! Started on 100 mg last week and will be getting rescanned Wednesday.

Clomid made me emotional, I cried all week

Hi everyone, I'm currently on CD9 of my second clomid cycle. I took 50 mg first time round, but unfortunately it didn't work, so they've bumped up my dose this time to 100mg and I have CD21 bloods booked in for Friday 14th August, which will be CD20 for me.

Moomin we have met before on the 'no periods' thread- it's good to see that you're making some progress and that your lap and dye was good.

I still haven't had a natural AF since coming off the pill in November, as I haven't ovulated at all, but have had withdrawal bleeds from Norethisterone, which is how I took the clomid both times (days 2-6). I've had other tests such as an ultrasound, HSG to check my tubes etc. and they've been fine and DH's SA was normal, so it's just a matter of making me ovulate, which hasn't happened yet. I think my ovaries are just in 'sleep' mode.

Jackster The mature follicles sound promising. I wasn't offered the chance of a scan, so can't keep track of progress, but really hoping the clomid is working this time round!

Oh, Vixx crossed posts! You sound like you're at the same stage as me. Let's hope it works this time.

Those of you getting scanned- are you paying for the scans or are they on the NHS? I wasn't offered the scans, but I was referred to the hospital by my GP, so assumed that you had to pay to be scanned.

Also, Moomin- is your bleed natural? If so, is it your first period since coming off the pill? I will be so excited when I finally have a natural period! (Even more so if I don't have one and get pregnant )

my TTC story is :

came off the pill last June. did not track anything until Jan. bloods all OK and dh sa OK. cycles have been ranging from 28-39 days. also picked up chlamydia antibodies. referred to hospital. given 3 months of clomid to try and regulate cycles. if no bfp will have laparoscopy.

I have been told I will need a scan cycle day 12-14 to look at follicles - not private but on NHS. however on talking with others what I have realised there is a postcode diff in treatment. others had hycosy (sp?) b4 clomid. I haven't even been offered that - its laparoscopy I'm having and am taking clomid for 3 months before I have this!

oh and af is due tomorrow according to ff but I did use opks this month.

Eskimo I'm on cycle day 10 so we are literally neck and neck.

The first month I got my scans for free on nhs but this month and any subsequent months it's 275 a cycle.

Have you had any symptoms during the last few days?

Vixx I'm not sure about symptoms at all BUT I have been suffering from a trapped nerve for the past week, which has been caused by the muscles in my shoulder being in spasm, and has sent shooting pains up and down my arm and led to two of my finger tips being numb, so I have been a bit preoccupied with that TBH! I have had splitting headaches the last two mornings upon waking up, have also been waking up in the night sweating buckets and in so much pain (with the shoulder), and have been in an irritable mood since Wednesday, but ALL of these I have put down to my shoulder, so I don't know how much, if anything is clomid related! Time will tell!

I have read that headaches and sweating is a symptom. Hopefully it's a sign that it's working for you.

Let's hope so! I've been in so much pain that I didn't even consider that any of those things could be clomid related. I just put all of it down to the shoulder pain!

I was on clomid for 3 month.. The doctor I had back then was not very professional. He did not check my bloods, or did a scan.. I just noticed that my cloth didn't fit any more.. 3 1/2 month after starting to take clomid without being checked I gained a lot. Went from a size 7/8 to size 16..

Then I went to see a different doctor as I felt so miserable. Had a lot of headaches, felt sick all the time. And he found out that I had under active thyroid. Apparently clomid is good for your uterus but if you thyroid are not low it will kill all the hormones a well. Mine where weak. So I started taking pills and 1 month after taking them I got pregnant with our son. (We where told 2 month before that by a fertility clinic that I could not get pregnant naturally) and I got over the fact we wouldn't have kids but I wanted to loose that weight I gained because of clomid..

Hey Eskimoflo I remember you :) Yes just did the calculation and the painters (sorry, AF) finally arrived on CD381!! I don't think I really believed it as it had been so long. This time last year I never would have thought we would be where we are, but it is what it is and there are lots of folk who are worse off. Feeling like we're making progress finally. Hope the 100mg does the trick for you :)

Vixxface...let us know what your scan results are,hopefully 100mg will mature those follicles.

I'm currently on cd17 and have my 21day blood test this Friday,we unfortunately had to go private as my doctors didn't wanna know,I went back 4 times to have my 21 day blood taken,levels were ,16, 20 which is to low to sub takin a pregnancy,they want to see 30 and above,one month was 80, but still no pregnancy....????
Private only scanned me this cycle,the next two I will be on my own,but will still get the 21day blood test through my doctor
I have low amh levels of 4.4 which is classed as low fertitly

The last 3 years has been a roller coaster mentally and physically ,and put a massive strain on my relationship,but all is good now,I've tried every thing u can think of to conceive,so hopefully clomid will work for all of us ????

Hey everyone - sorry we are all having a rubbish time.

I had a roller coaster drop in temp this morning so patiently awaiting af to arrive to begin clomid..! Oh the joys!! How long did it take you all to ovulate after clomid?

I had my scan today. 100 mg didn't work for me. Thickened womb lining but not even 1 follicle.

Oh no Vixx, I'm so sorry. Do you know what they will do now? Increase your dose to 150mg? Why are you on clomid? Obviously because you don't ovulate, but do you not ovulate at all (like me) or do you not ovulate regularly? x x

I don't know if they will up my dose. I am thinking ivf

I have 20 clomid tablets 50mg each so I could take it next month.

I have pcos. how about you?

I'm on my first round of Clomid, 50mg. Took it CD8-12, which I know is really weird, but it was essentially a panic reaction to catastrophic Day 3 blood results, my consultant wanted to use this as a diagnostic exercise as much as anything

Bit of a long and complicated story, don't want to overwhelm you all first off, happy to share if you don't mind an epic post! Otherwise just will say I had my scan on Tuesday and there was a 22mm follicle, plus two smaller ones. The Clomid has thinned my lining and dried up my CM, and consultant said he thought unlikely the lining would be thick enough to be able to support a pregnancy.

However thought worth me having a trigger shot and doing timed intercourse just in case. Had my trigger shot yesterday afternoon, got my peak on the clearblue fertility monitor and a +ve on the cheapy OPK this morning, so as per Dr orders DTD this morning and (hopefully!) tomorrow morning to do our best to catch this egg.

Vixx I think it's likely that they will up the dose to 150mg. I don't have pcos- I have just never ovulated since coming off the pill last November. No ovulation = no periods. I've had tests and scans and everything, and apart from my ovaries being slightly enlarged, everything seems normal.

Vix I imagine they would want to try you on next dose up?

Sorry I'm new to this so please excuse the silly questions - for ivf if you are not ovulating would you use donor eggs or do you not need to ovulate for ivf?

Af has started for me this morning. First cycle of clomid - I really don't have much faith in it as I am ovulating although very irregularly - 28 day cycle - 38 day. Will take 1st dose tomorrow.
