Hello everyone....reading and lurking in my corner...23 weeks pregnant hereSmile ...

Oliveisme · 01/02/2016 22:45

Congratulations terezamichalek on your son, that's great news! And notsoold congratulations to you on your BFP 🎉🎈🎉. Hope the rest of us 40 something's are all well 😊 and hoping for February to be the month we get BFP's!

Beegee3 · 01/02/2016 22:52

terezamichalek congratulations on your baby boy, as ababsurdum it really is the end result that matters ☺ notsoold glad to hear that your pregnancy is progressing well ☺.
Hope everyone else is doing okay today? X

ChewyGiraffe · 01/02/2016 23:39

Notsoold - 23 weeks! Great to hear all is well. Did you find out whether you are team pink or blue? (And sorry if you've said already, I can be such a lame brain.)

ChewyGiraffe · 01/02/2016 23:45

tereza - many congratulations on your baby boy - how old is he now? - and good luck with a sibling x

notsoold · 02/02/2016 12:14

Chewygiraffe not a all... we are having a boy. Dh really wanted a girl and took a few days to come around. He even mentioned about maybe thinking having another after this one?Hmm. Had to remind him that I will be almost 45 when the baby arrives and we would not have time for another. ( plus as it is we will have 2 under 3s for few months)....
Weird dh.... all those years that I wanted to get on with it!!!Shock

ChewyGiraffe · 02/02/2016 12:37

Notsoold - Do I take it you have a DS already? Two brothers will be just grand. Anyway, I think its great to find out; I can't understand those who manage to keep it 'a surprise' (way too impatient) although each to their own of course. Hope the rest of your pregnancy is plain sailing.

My DP sounds similar - he was totally ambivalent about kids for years (like, we'd get round to it one day) and then DD arrives and he's utterly besotted, so he's pretty keen on having another one now and wonders what we were playing about at for all that while Confused. Well him and me both. Anyway, I hope your DH is not too far from the mark if he thinks having a baby post 45 is at least a possibility - I'm still trying here (if only just)!

ababsurdum · 02/02/2016 12:43

Good to hear you're doing well notsoold. Congrats on having (another?) boy Smile

Still full of cold here with an annoying cough! I'm trying not to take anything just in case. I'm about 8 dpo, trying to be strong and not test unless AF is late. I should be due Sunday.

jassS · 02/02/2016 14:22

Notso, I have two sons close in age and they are fun! i also have a grown up sis-bro pair from my younger days, and this works ace too, so - gender does not matter, its the 23 good weeks and the following what matters!

ChewyGiraffe · 02/02/2016 14:22

ababs - FX for a big no show on Sunday! If your throat's really sore are you taking paracetamol? That's fine when pregnant. And maybe a lemon/ginger herbal tea with a spoonful of honey in?

I'm all over the place this month - too much going on. I just had to check the calendar to realise that I'm almost coming up for mid-cycle (CD10)!

ChewyGiraffe · 02/02/2016 14:26

Jass - X posts - lovely to hear from you again - hope you're doing OK? Are you TTC / NTNP / going with the flow / off skiing again?

ababsurdum · 02/02/2016 14:31

Hi Chewy. I've been drinking hot water with lemon and honey to soothe my throat. I'm not actually that ill, though I felt grotty for a couple of days, it's just the mucus is annoying and hard to shift hence the irritating coughing. It's getting a bit better each day so hopefully on its way out.

CD10 - sounds like you need to get your groove on Wink

ChewyGiraffe · 02/02/2016 14:50

Ababs - You're right, but lol at the idea of getting any type of groove on these days. Just wish for it to be mercifully quick usually Blush #jaded

ababsurdum · 02/02/2016 16:52

Ha ha! Are you going to do eod or every day? We really need to do it this week before AF arrives and before dh gets my cold manflu Grin

ChewyGiraffe · 02/02/2016 17:37

Ababs - neither, because actually we're giving ourselves a break this month - I seriously need it. You, on the other hand, if you're still considering DTD at 8 DPO, well that almost sounds as if you're doing it just for fun! I'm v Confused! And Envy that I struggle to remember what that's like! (You see, we do need a break!)

jassS · 02/02/2016 18:08

Chewy, I am actually all these things at a time! It is skiing season and I expect to get three weeks of it before end March! First trip starting this weekend.

Last mo I had a chem. Slight bfp for teo days while spotting, then longish period of 8-9 days. Now coming up to fertile window but out of ov sticks, decided not to buy anymore and go with the flow (OK, rather with fertile mucus:-)). So its dtd week here, made difficult by a longish UTI and sore throat as well.

ababsurdum · 02/02/2016 18:09

It does sound like you need it! We are only on the 2nd month of trying since miscarriage so not jaded yet. Really I'm thinking about sperm turnover rather than any romantic notion though Smile. Plus if I am preggers then it will be the last time for a while most likely... No symptoms that I've noticed yet though hard with horrid cold.

ababsurdum · 02/02/2016 18:13

JassS lucky you, I miss skiing. We haven't been since Feb 13 before I was pg with ds. Sorry you had a chemical pregnancy, it's hard when you get a bfp then it all goes wrong. Fx for better luck this month.

ChewyGiraffe · 02/02/2016 22:25

Jass - so sorry to hear about the chem (well a BFP for 10 days sounds like more than a chem really, if you know what I mean). I'm still slightly in awe of how relatively easily/often you seem to get pregnant though - you have to have a sticky one soon, surely?

Anyway, hopefully the mountain air will do you good. Hope you have a lovely time skiing - lucky you! Are you expecting good snow where you're going?

FattyFishwife · 03/02/2016 13:14

big hugs for your chem jass

fx for a bfp for you abab i thought my third was a nasty case of Sydney flu at the time, i was soooo ill with it, so all my hideous symptoms were masking any pregnancy symptoms....my 'sydney flu' is now a massively strapping 16 year old :D

congrats on the news of a blue one notso and at 23 weeks already, thats gone so fast!

lovely news about your baby tereza

chewy hope you find your sexy mojo soon, its not fun when it feels like a duty or a "must do to get it out of the way before i/we lose the window of opportunity" Im sure a lot of us feel like that at one point or another.

waves to olive and beegee and all the quiet lurkers who just read but not post...come say hi...we dont bite!

kitkat2016 · 03/02/2016 13:58

hi all
Im so with you on the jaded front chewy - its enough I can do to muster the energy to DTD let alone add enjoyment to it! Fx I get it back soon!

Fx for a BFP to you abab - I do hope its your lucky month
Im going to try EPO for the first time and grapefruit juice and some new vits to try and rev me up!

jassS · 03/02/2016 16:10

Meh, bfp for 10days when test line remains weaker than control means hcg never went close to 1000 means there was no sav or anything reasonable in there. Unfortunately getting pg very easily at my age of 46 is bad - it shows my lining is crazy, so it tries to implant anything, but also risks not to complete any implantation even if all OK with baby. It can be a curse, not a blessing. Interestingly, chem in my book is an easy way out - if it was not to be, I take this over late first tri loss anyday. Not a single tear shed here....

ababsurdum · 03/02/2016 18:54

Glad you can be pragmatic about it jass, fingers crossed you get a sticky one soon.

Thanks for the good wishes all. I am ashamed to say I caved and tested today. I was in Tesco this morning and bought some stupidly expensive clearblue tests. Did one when I got home - bfn. Then I even used the other one this afternoon because it was burning a hole in the cupboard! Bfn too of course. What on earth is wrong with me? Blush
Only 9dpo but I got a clear +ve at 10dpo with ds and that wasn't fmu either.

I think I need to go to ttc rehab!

Beegee3 · 03/02/2016 20:26

Hello ladies and waves fatty. Haven't been getting notifications on the thread for some reason and just seen that there has been a lot of chat ☺. Hope you're all okay? ababsurdum hope you shift that cough soon and fx you tested too soon. I think that I am 3dpo now so I must be patient and try not to second guess every tiny thing my body might do. X

kitkat2016 · 04/02/2016 15:59

oh so sorry abab and jass- fx your bfp comes soon

does anyone take green tea to help with fertility?
I've read conflicting reports so its a bit confusing! Some say it increases cm and others that it dries up cm??

Does anyone take it to increase cm and does it work?
