Just had the most depressing two hours ever - misread the control line on a test and thought it said I was pregnant. Feeling stupid Blush now I've worked it out and crashing down to harsh reality. Actually feeling quite sad now. And I didn't buy a bottle of wine.

ababsurdum · 29/01/2016 20:48

Oh no wotsits. I'm really sorry, that must be awful. How many dpo are you? Maybe it's still too early. Have you got anything else you can treat yourself with, cake or chocolate? Sending you a hug xx

wotsitsmaltesers · 29/01/2016 20:56

Thank you ababsurdum It's day 27 of a regular as clockwork 28 day cycle, so that's me out this month. 12 months trying now, trying for number 1, very sad.

ababsurdum · 29/01/2016 21:02

Hang in there. It took me over a year and I remember how awful I felt so I can fully sympathise Flowers

TwinklyMusic · 30/01/2016 08:22

Really sorry wotsits. Fingers crossed for next month.

ababsurdum · 30/01/2016 13:56

Wotsits I hope you're feeling a bit better today, try and stay positive. I know it's hard but just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. I know you had an amh test, have you had any other tests?

totalnamechanger · 30/01/2016 13:57

Sorry wotsits I had similar situations with the occasional randomly long luteal phase to fox me before I conceived my son. It sometimes feels cruel. Hopefully you feel better today?

FattyFishwife · 30/01/2016 16:36

big huge hugs wotsits, all my stocks of baby dust to you for next cycle xxx

today, ive still no af, but had my temp drop back to below coverline and got my usual pre menstrual migraine (albeit later than usual), so Im thinking now that Im deffo out.
feel rough as a badgers arse today, like i had a full night out on the lash, but without the fun bit!

ababsurdum · 30/01/2016 18:15

Fatty do you think you ovulated later than you thought? I hope you feel better soon xx

FattyFishwife · 30/01/2016 19:36

abab this could be true, as i havent temped since october, and i only started temping after day 11ish (assumed ovulation day) so i could see if there was a temp change from my prior coverline (from aug/sept/oct figures last year)

Im currently on day 27 now, i havent had a 27 day cycle since october 2014!

ababsurdum · 30/01/2016 20:10

Mine is usually 27 days but has ranged between 24 and 29 days in the last year or so. Was always 28 when I was younger.

wotsitsmaltesers · 31/01/2016 00:19

ooops, just posted below post in wrong thread, getting it all wrong this month, well, actually, tonight I think it's the wine!

Thanks everyone. Feeling okay(ish) today. Was just strange to think for two hours that it might all work out. A lot of strange thoughts went through my head that I now have to park. Nothing like having a mc or some of the things you've all been through - can't imagine what all of that is like. Anyway, have had a few glasses of wine and will pick myself up, brush myself down and start all over again (well in about 5 days as the beloved AF arrived today right on schedule)

Beegee3 · 31/01/2016 01:25

Hi all, don't know what is what with me....Anyway I am fine. Been to a fancy dress party as a 20's ganster's moll, given in and had a few drinks and all is okay.
Sorry for all the nonsense that is happening for all. I just hope everything works out for us all. Met up at the party with a school friend who is 43 and 17 weeks pregnant! It was her hubby's 60th! She is doing really well and anot her good news story for us all.x

FattyFishwife · 31/01/2016 12:34

hi ladies, just a quickie for now

af has just arrived (the witch!!) just as i was starting to cautiously hope!

anyhoo...youve still gotta put up with me for another month :* Wink Grin

Beegee3 · 31/01/2016 13:11

😠😢 Fatty so sorry about af...relax for a bit now and then get back on the horse 😉. Glad you are sticking around though tooFlowers x

Beegee3 · 31/01/2016 13:13

Flowers wotsits Flowers hope you are feeling okay today x

ababsurdum · 31/01/2016 16:09

Sorry wotsits, I hope I didn't come across brusque in a pull yourself together kind of way. If so I really didn't intend to. You should absolutely take the time to lick your wounds and mourn the loss of what you thought you had, even if it was only for a short while. In the meantime take the chance to enjoy doing all those things you can't do with a very young baby/child - cinema, evenings out, spontaneous anything (there are those who will tell you you can still do all that, I'm not one of them!). Oh and sleep and enjoy a lie in. When you have a baby those will be in very short supply for a while!

Beegee when I was pg at 41 I bumped into an old school friend one day out buying baby things and she was pg too, about 6 weeks ahead of me. We both had boys and meet up semi regularly. Fingers crossed you'll be joining her soon.

Fatty I'm sorry AF got you again. Since you ov later do you think you dtd at the right time? You may need to extend that period if not .

I am still feeling crappy with a cough & cold so couldn't symptom spot anyway. I'm about 6 or 7 dpo depending on when I ovulated.

Beegee3 · 31/01/2016 18:38

Thanks ababsurdum . Well I surprised myself at how keen and amorous I was this weekend (DC with ex h). So I just tested with a cheapo Internet ov stick and it looks like I have finally ovulated (I ran out of clearblue super-duper ones) so ladies do I start counting dpo from tomorrow do you think??

totalnamechanger · 31/01/2016 19:17

I sometimes ov a day or two after a positive opk ( temping to confirm ) so I'd continue for a couple of days if you can bear it Wink

ababsurdum · 31/01/2016 20:05

Beegee does the test line need to be darker than the control line for a positive?

Beegee3 · 31/01/2016 20:36

Hi ababsurdum yes I have checked, the bottom one is the test line x

Beegee3 · 31/01/2016 20:42

I am reading it right aren't I? X

terezamichalek · 01/02/2016 09:20

That is so great when even in 40s women can conceive naturally! I'm so happy for you ladies and thank you for inspiration!
Unfortunately I had to use surrogate mother to become a mother, I will always feel shame i didn't experience pregnancy but I'm a happy mother now and by boy is the most important for me! Ans i even consider for a second program for a daughter)
Feeling so exited!

ababsurdum · 01/02/2016 11:09

terezamichalek congratulations on your son, it's the end result that really matters Flowers
