Hi everyone,

Here's our shiny new thread continuing from the old 'who wants to buddy up' thread (sorry, don't know how to link). I'm sure some regulars will be along in a minute and also anyone else who is ttc and would like some company is very welcome to join- we're very friendly!

Thank you, Violet and Shoos! Bfn, alas, so looks like choc is marching into cycle 3, armed with folic acid, smep, and a barrage of relaxing massages!

inmyshoos · 03/06/2015 07:49

Ah choc disappointed for you. But cycle 3 could be 3rd time lucky? I conceived dd2 cycle 3 of ttc. Fx crossed it is the same for you. Flowers

pinklady26 · 03/06/2015 08:18

Morning everyone,

:( Choc do you have AF yet? Could just be too early?

I haven't used my OPK this morning but wish i had as i'm now day 14, the instructions tell you to use it first thing but i see that some of you test twice in the day?

Can i also ask if anyone gets hayfever? If so, what do you use? I have just noticed mine says about speaking to the dr before using in pregnancy TTC etc.

Issie339 · 03/06/2015 08:20

Sorry you got a bfn choc Flowers that sucks. Glad you're feeling positive about cycle 3 though and agreeing with the relaxing massages, sounds amazing.

shoos I think another baby with a big age gap will be lovely! It'll be like having your first one all over again Grin I'm hoping for 3 or 4 (though may have to convince dh!) but need to work on getting pregnant with no2 first!!

Still blank circle on OPKs for me this morning. Soooo tired today, dd was a nightmare last night, second night in her 'big girl bed' and out of the cot DID NOT go well Sad [sobs and reaches for the coffee]

pink i got my positive on the morning of cd14. I would try not to drink too much this morn and test around 12(or whenever you can hold off peeing until) Fx for a positive opk.

issie thanks, i hope it will be easier than my first as he was born into a ropey marriage and despite having been a midwife and a childrens nanny before having him, it was bloody hard. Not an easy baby. The next 2 were easier. Im hoping a 4th would be even easier given i have some bigger helpful dc! Fx it happens.
How old is your dd? All mine were not great sleepers. Dd2 was the easiest but only because she slept in with me until she was 2! She is 6 now and still likes to sneak in for a cuddle! Time passes so quickly, it doesnt feel like it at the time but seems just yesterday my 3 could all snuggle into my bed un the morning. Now they'd barely fit and ww3 would break out im sure! Confused

pinklady26 · 03/06/2015 13:11

I would shoos but i haven't brought any to work with me :( I could do it tonight but will it be pointless?

Issie im sorry you had a bad night and a negative OPK :(

nickynackynoo31 · 03/06/2015 15:10

aw sorry for your bfn choc....maybe too early??

my little one still comes into our bed but unfortunately it's not just for a morning cuddle Confused ...he makes his way in there during night and I never seem to hear him (bad mum) and wake up to his feet in my face Shock x

VioletIbiza88 · 03/06/2015 15:10

Do any of you lovely ladies know how to upload photos on here, my phone is being a pain! I'm following this link at the bottom of where you write the message, choosing the photo and then it just takes me back to the main screen again but no photo attached and my message gone??

Anyway hiya, day 2 of dtd-a-thon, opk's are darkening up nicely, darkest I've had so far with these ones, but not darker than the control line yet. Think I will do another test tonight.

Stats to follow

pinklady26 · 03/06/2015 15:12

Violet I would of said to just click choose file where you type but not sure if thats not working :( Glad your OPK's are darkening though :)

So have any of you ladies tried preseed??
I was talking to a friend about it today and she had some very positive stories to tell! Her sister (39) was trying 6 mnths and on the 7th month decided to try preseed as her dh was going away on the sunday and she was due to ovulate on the friday. So she tried it and low and behold she now has a baby boy. Another friend of hers was due to start ivf after years of ttc, heard of her sisters luck with preseed and thought she'd try. And you might have guessed? Yip a bfp!!! I am quite excited about this!! Can you tell!!?? Grin

Mrs1986 · 03/06/2015 17:44

mrs1986 29 cycle 2 TTC#1
CD 5
Don't know what OTD means yet!

Does everyone use opks? I haven't considered it yet! Have downloaded 3 apps, they all tell me different dates for high fertility. Now that it's cycle 2 I at least know what to expect in terms of my obsessive behaviour!!

Issie339 · 03/06/2015 17:50

Fantastic stats update, thanks violet! I am also I'm the midst of the dtd-marathon now, exhausted already lols.

shoos DD is 2, really hoping she settles in to the new bed soon, I was absolutely dead at work today Sad And you are defo not old!!

Tried conceive+ last month, is that the same as preseed or is preseed a particular product? Think I'll be on Amazon purchasing some tonight Grin

OP posts:
Issie339 · 03/06/2015 17:57

Wow Amazon is FAST just been on and bought some preseed for guaranteed delivery tomorrow, took me...4 minutes! Grin The joy of being bored on the train home. shoos I better get my bfp this month now after your glowing review of preseed Grin

Hi girls, I'm still lurking, usually around the mc board :( I seriously need a slap! Not had a good few days, still having cramps, and had another spotting episode, called epu and they basically said unless it starts heavily, leave it, there's nothing else you can do, which made me :( had to go to hospital as the cramps were so severe, and I'm not eating or drinking as I'm so nauseous all the time :( anyway they gave me a lovely antisickness jab, told me I've got another uti, did bloods and sent me away....and here I am at home still cramping and praying, this is so damn hard :(

Mrs1986 · 03/06/2015 19:39

Oh no Brooke. I tried scrolling through but couldn't find your previous messages. Are you newly pregnant? What is epu? Xx

chocfireguard · 03/06/2015 19:44

Ooh, what is pressed? Never heard of it, only of clomid...

Pink, re hay fever, I don't know, but I did see an advert for a stick (looks like chap stick) that you rub around your nostrils and is meant to be non-drowsy and day-long...may be worth a google??

Issie and Violet, enjoy all the post-dtd hanging-the-uterus-upside-down! Are your DPs fairly abiding in all this?!

Nicky, I used to think that I would be really militant about beds, but having seen a popular, well rounded, secure 16 year old still enjoy the odd cuddle when dad's away, I've started to think that there are far worse things...as long as his feet aren't kicking said face!!

Shoos, persevere...though if you are restricting caffeine too, you must be horizontal by now!

Hi Mrs! I haven't used opks yet, but will be doing this month.

chocfireguard · 03/06/2015 19:59

Sorry, I must have been writing while Brooke was posting. Don't mean to come across insensitive, not acknowledging you! So sorry that you're having (and sound to have had) such a tough time. I am a newbie, so haven't 'met' you on previous threads, but will have fx for you. Has the anti sickness done anything for you? Flowers

Mrs1986 · 03/06/2015 20:17

What benefit so opks give you over and above the apps? Is it just about having to DTD less? I'm wondering if it's worth the money?! Something else for me to get obsessed over!!

chocfireguard · 03/06/2015 21:21

It just gives you a more accurate idea of when you are due to ovulate, so that you are relying less on guess work and symptoms, really. I have a very regular 28 day cycle, so should ovulate on day 14. Based on that and symptoms, I have been dtd every day from days 10-17. But I guess I would find it useful to k ow more precisely when I should probably be dtd more than once a day (flippin heck, already sounds far too exhausting!).

Also, been looking up pressed, Shoos. Some people are saying that the recommended amount is excessive...do you know what people you have spoken to have found is a good amount to use?

Mrs1986 · 03/06/2015 21:38

More than once a day might be a bit hard to manage. My DH thinks we are 'seeing how it goes'. Having said that, he does know how obsessive compulsive I am, and he knows that I've joined forums and downloaded apps. I wonder if more sticks in the bathroom might freak him out?! Probably best for us to give it a few months before I invest in more equipment. Although just had a peek at a Clearblue fancy machine on Boots.com.. Who knew TTC would be such serious business?!!!

VioletIbiza88 · 03/06/2015 22:14

shoos if it helps last month the lady who complained about been the oldest on the stats got a bfp!

issie can dd not learn to sleep in her big girls bed when ur out of your fertile window?? U need your sleep for a dtd marathon. Are u relaxing about the coffee this month, I'm having one a day.
Brooke good to hear from you hun, sorry to hear your still cramping. Is it still a case of wait an see? Have u had another scan yet? Thinking of u x
choc dps been very accommodating, but more than once a day!! You've beat me there!! We did that once last month but was a one off. Is that your plan then?

VioletIbiza88 · 03/06/2015 22:26

Can I just overshare! Eep just dtd then hr later thought, will do an opk, its positive, dark second line came up in seconds. Bestest well timed sex ever! what a geek that I'm so excited about this

VioletIbiza88 · 03/06/2015 22:38

That line was darker than the control line by 10 mins!

Welcome Mrs epu is early pregnancy unit by the way

Issie339 · 04/06/2015 07:11

brooke good to hear from you. So sorry you're going through this, really hope it's all alright for you very soon (((hugs)))

violet amazing work on the dtd timing! Haha to over-sharing. I'm being relaxed about the whole coffee thing this month too, back to one a day- cutting it out is too hard/boring! I'm trying to fool my body in to thinking I'm relaxed about this ttc malarkey, hoping that will do the job and I'll get my bfp...can you fool yourself in to thinking you're relaxed?? Grin

OH is totally on board with the ttc, I think he's as frustrated as me that we're not pregnant yet when it was so quick last time. Can't wait to get that bfp, I think it'll be even more special this time because we've had to wait for it

Much better night with dd last night- asleep by 7:45 and woke up at 5:45 (very early but at least I got a full nights sleep!) Put some new bedrails on her bed yesterday which must have done the trick- God bless Argos!!!
