Do you love being elbow deep in your cervix? Can you tell your cream from your egg? No, we're not talking Cadbury, we're talking vadge juice. Come and join the fingering fillies on our flight of fecundity (see what I did there?).

Ooh Sammy we will be tww buddies

purdeybirdie · 15/02/2015 10:40

Juney, I think that's a very sensible idea. Remember the studies that attest to most conceptions occurring from sperm deposited the day before ov?

I have to agree with Vic on the issue of what's considered 'okay'. I agree 15% is more likely to be a suitable cut-off. I think there needs to be more research into this as women are being made subfertile by their DH's 'fine' sperm. They always want to look at the woman's fertility more acutely and I suspect, in this day and age of poor sperm, it is the menz' problem.

Oh fuck so I've just wasted £4:95 on Amazon then?! That'll teach me to keep up with t'thread!!

Juney eeeeeee pet get 'em up there! How exciting!

Sparkly123 · 15/02/2015 10:42

My update today is: no spotting so far. But a temp drop Sad I'm gonna have to suck it up and move onto next cycle I think, it would have been a miracle BFP anyway so soon after mc!

purdeybirdie · 15/02/2015 10:44

Juney, I cannot conceive of a study that could possibly conclude definitively that diet A beats diet B. So many variables. So many super-large ladies getting pregnant on a diet of Alphabites, lard and Tennants Super.

purdeybirdie · 15/02/2015 10:50

Sparkly, I don't consider that a 'drop' drop. I'm not deliberately trying to mess with you. But before I remain sanguine about your chances, please will you post the chart that preceded your bfp one?

As much as I try to put healthy options into my body as much as poss.. I kinda agree , Think of all the women who get preggers eating unhealthily... Then there's those with addictions to alcohol/drugs etc... The list goes on. I will always continue to try and be healthy, however I wonder if it makes a huge difference when TTC or not..

Sparkly123 · 15/02/2015 10:53

Purds I think it's the first drop for me lovely.. Here's my chart from my BFP cycle (also a drop day 28 then back up again) and here is my cycle before BFP chart (a drop then another again..)

*Sod!

loopylou1984 · 15/02/2015 11:01

Yay Juney, always nice to have someone to wait it out with Smile

Although given the recent information I have on morphology I think you're in with a far better chance than me. Xx

Nomio230 · 15/02/2015 11:06

Morning, lovely ladies. Sorry for those who have been attacked by the witch. Hmm

I am off to see my babies today! My sister insists that they belong to her, as she carried them for 9 months & then gave birth, but they are mine really. I am in for a day of slobbery kisses & being jumped on frequently by small people. Heaven! Grin

Hope you all have a good day.

Sparkly, try not to lose hope yet.

Purdey, hope you feel better soon.

purdeybirdie · 15/02/2015 11:26

Thanks, all, for sympathising with lurgy. It has kept me from church Sad DH is always willing to keep baby at home with him (he is not a believer) but I want to bring her up under the instruction of the Word, plus it gives DH a much-needed rest (he is Superdad since losing his job; completely usurped my position as mummy. I'm not entirely happy with this but can't be motivated to do anything about it; i'm too busy trying to make anuvver nipper Hmm)

Enjoy rambunctious tots, Nomio!

Sparkly, I am gutted for you if this is a bust. You ovulated and did all the right things and so I didn't look upon a post-mc-cycle bfp as something akin to a miracle. Are you okay? Did you do another test? Thanks

Commiserations on the arrival of AF Coffee, Victoria and Pikz.

For those of you about to ov/ joining us on the March bus, someone was telling me yesterday that the NHS is anticipating a baby boom in 9 months time as a result of the 50 shades effect! I SO wish I was one of those people who could watch a film, have sex a few times without really thinking about it and then give birth at full term nine months later!

Mummy - so sorry to hear about your FIL. Thinking of you. Flowers

Aurora - sorry for getting all excited about your hpt. We've all been there. Flowers

eskimolaura · 15/02/2015 11:45

Lukewarm baths are NOT much fun :(

9dpo (I think). Let the knicker checking commence...

Sparkly123 · 15/02/2015 11:56

nomio that sounds ideal! I'm hoping for a visit from the nephews today. It's just the best isn't it?! My two are a total handful but make me smile so much!

Purdey no test nope. I feel like Tomor is AF day. We shall see... I'm feeling a bit sad as I prob got my hopes up a wee bit and stupidly believed the - you are very fertile after mc- line. BUT I know I shall pick myself up again and move onto next month.. It's just a thought! (Which I feel terrible saying as so many struggle for so much longer) I think with AI it's so "nuts and bolts" so to speak, that it doesn't feel like there's any enjoyment at all of it it's all just go go go full steam ahead, think we did 8 this last cycle! My chart this month has ruined me!! Ha.
Sorry you didn't make it to church Sad I really hope you feel better. Sure Nancy is providing you with many a smile! Smile

You know what Purdey I'm gonna get dh to get me a twirl today. I need it!

Sparkly123 · 15/02/2015 11:57

Mummy so sorry to hear your update Flowers I hope your FIL fights through this and comes out the other side

loopylou1984 · 15/02/2015 12:00

Sorry to keep on about this, I'm boring myself, so god knows what it's doing to you lot! However, I just dug out dh firsts SA results to compare and wondered if anyone would mind taking a look?

SA 1: 22.09.14
Abstinence = 5 days

Volume 3.8 ml
Density 86.00
Count 326.8
Motility 62%
Normal forms 3%

SA 2: 27.10.14
Abstinence 3 days

Volume 2.7ml
Density 82.00
Count 221.4
Motility 54%
Normal forms 5%

Obviously the count and volume etc is less as we abstained for less days, but I'm wondering (hoping) that the normal forms is worse in the first one because we left it a whole 5 days, the maximum they recommend?

Tell me to shut up if I'm doing your heads in!

In more upbeat news, sparkly I totally visualised healthy normal form sperm meeting my egg while I was laying with my bum on a pillow last night! Smile

Here's my chart sparkly

lucieloos · 15/02/2015 12:31

I think they are really good test results Sammy. This is what the world health org asks for in a semen analysis...

Volume >1.5ml
Density >15m
Count >39m
Motility >40%
Morphology >4%

You might have had a blip on the morphology on the first test but on retest it increased to 5% which is fine. I wish my dhs results were as good as yours!!

purdeybirdie · 15/02/2015 12:58

Sammy, if the WHO said that then who am I to argue? His count is brilliant.

Spinning, I think perhaps you ov'd on CD11. Have I already said that?

I am off to bed with Solpadeine. DH has taken the tot to see the ducks on the canal and then to Spar to buy two massive slabs of Cadbury Caramel (Two for three quid - the big slabs!) My bezzie has rung and insisted we go to the cinema to see Selma. When I told her I was ill and that I didn't want to spread my lurgy she said 'But MacDonalds and a tub of Ben & Jerry's is the panacea for all lurgies!' I can't argue with that Smile

Just caught up with the thread: commiserations to all those with AF visits and positive vibes to Mummy's FIL. Get well soon Purdey

Eskimo I am 6DPO and have started wearing my light-coloured knickers so I don't miss anything.

Purdey I'm delighted you said there's research pointing to conception occurring with sperm from the day before ov - I think I ov'ed last Monday and OH & I had some pretty good BD'ing on Sunday where for, I think the 2nd time ever, we both orgasmed at the precise same time which I believe may have helped sucked the spermies in the right direction. This clearly does nothing to dampen my hopes of a BPF though!

purdeybirdie · 15/02/2015 12:59

Sparkly, being objective about it all..do you feel like AF is on its way?

Mummy, what a worry. I'm so sorry he is so poorly, the poor man Thanks

Good luck with the insemination Juney especially the defrosting stage x

loopylou1984 · 15/02/2015 13:11

Thank you Lucie - fingers crossed the 3rd result is greater than 4! I'm going to speak to the doctor and ask for a referral. They've been so quick on the nhs so far that I do to really want to pay for one.

Purdey, I don't think I'll tell him that, don't want him getting a big head! Lol. Xx
