Hi. I am on my first two week wait and completely consumed! Can't think of much else and as we haven't told anyone we are ttc I have no-one to chat with about it!! Anyone ??

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 18/10/2006 11:37

Great news PinkB, really pleased for you.

I'm so stupid - I did another bloody test this morning and still a BFN. Surprise, surprise. Dont know what's going on - this morning I could smell a bowl of HP sauce from 10 feet away!! If I'm not pg, then there is something seriously wrong with me!!!

MrsMcJnr · 18/10/2006 11:39

KitKat - test every day if it makes you feel better but don't if it stresses you out! Everythin crossed for you. if you get your BFP, this must be a lucky thread and hopefully I'll get mine too!

Pancha · 18/10/2006 11:52

Morning! I hope you manage to get through the day Pink Butterfly, and you are able to relax a bit and enjoy feeling queasy!

No change for me today, but i don't think I am pg this month. Proabably a good thing, as I think my DP may need a few more months to get his head round this! He says he can't really think about it, get excited etc until it actually happens. So sensible!

When is your af due, KitKat? Sorry for the BFN. Maybe tommorrow?

KitKat30 · 18/10/2006 12:02

I really wasnt planning to test at all today - just saw the bloody stick looking at me this morning and I couldnt resist!!

I'm due any time from 21st - 25th/26th... so I am testing really early. I just feel so weird I cant quite believe I'm not if you know what I mean??? But then the EPTs keep telling me I'm not...so who knows.

Just not going to buy another test until the weekend (assuming AF doesnt arrive before then).

Pancha · 18/10/2006 12:09

I am due around the 23rd, but I have recently come off the pill, and I am not totally sure how long each cycle is. I am going on a 28 day cycle, until I am proven otherwise. How long are your cycles KitKat? It will be good if they are similar, so we can worry together!

KitKat30 · 18/10/2006 12:33

Hi Pancha - my cycle varies from 29 days to 35... so it's a bit of an unknown quantity with me! Will be keeping a beady eye for AF on the 23rd too though!! I really feel like it's on its way now though - major AF cramps, but every time I check - nothing! So frustrating - wish you could flick a switch and know what's happening!

mrspf · 18/10/2006 12:42

Please can I join your thread, as I need people to chat to.

I am in my first month TTC following a m/c in August. I have a 22 month old DD.

It only took 1 month to conceive both times, and with fertility apparently higher for the 3 cycles after m/c I am expecting it to be easy again. Last time I was getting early signs but I'm not sure this time. I hope I won't feel too down if AF comes. It's all I think about- I want a baby so badly (I'm nearly 35 and don't want to wait too long).

Any advice on how to take my mind off things. Guess i could do an early test but think i will wait until fri. fingers crossed

Pancha · 18/10/2006 13:15

Hi Mrspf, welcome along!

So sorry to hear about your m/c. Hopefully things will get better and you will conceive in no time!

mrspf · 18/10/2006 13:32

Thanks Pancha,

Good luck to you too. We can go through all the highs and lows together as our cycles are similar.

I too have been reading into every abdominal pain or twinge, and if nothing happens this month i think i will give grapefruit juice during week of ovulation a go as other people on BFP threads swear by it!

Pancha · 18/10/2006 14:12

I have also been reading about Evening Primrose Oil, that is s'posed to help too. Lukily I love grapefruit juice(one of the few!) I am trying not to get too carried away just yet though, as this is our first month of ttc. I am quite enjoying the suspense of the 2ww, although I am sure this will change as the months drag on!

My DP and I have siad we will take it easy for the first six months, and then if nothing happens, we will start getting more technical about things! Hopefully that will keep anxiety to a minimal. He is doing a great job of not thinking about it, but I am finding it much more difficult. I can't think of anything else!

ready4motherhood · 18/10/2006 19:12

knock knock - sorry if I'm intruding. My first ever 2ww came to an end on Sunday with the arrival of AF. So I am in the November thread. But I happened to see this thread today, don't know how I missed it during my 2ww (duh!) and wanted to wish everyone the best of luck. Fingers crossed and lots of babydust floating your way.

I am CD4 on my 2nd cycle TTC, and now feeling positive and upbeat, after disappointment and tears on Sunday.

It's fantastic to have MN and all you wonderful ladies to chat to.

x

KitKat30 · 19/10/2006 11:39

Hello and welcome to all the new faces - nice to see so many on this thread.

(Where are the old faces - gone v quiet?!? PinkB still getting +ves? MrsMcJ working hard today?)

Pancha - there is another thread on the conception boards about evening primrose oil... in that you should take it up to ovulation but not after because it causes the uterus to contract or something? Dunno - but basically if you take it after ov then it's not great for TTC.

Ready4M - sorry about AF arrival. Just dreading it happening to me in the next few days...feel on tenterhooks all the time!

MrsMcJnr · 19/10/2006 12:03

Hello and welcome to the newbies. KitKat - you still sound so upbeat, good for you. PinkButterlfy - are you feeling any better today?

You are right about the EPO, it is good stuff but only up to OV, not after. Same goes for the grapefruit juice, green tea and cough mixture!

I am beginning to think my vitamin popping is getting obsessive! I take Santogen pre-natal vits, EPO (been taking it for my eyes to produce more oil as suggested by my optician) for hormone balance and CM, grapefruit juice for CM, B6 to improve my LP, Wheatgrass for general health, Aloe Vera gel for general health and Royal Jelly for fertility!!

ready4motherhood · 19/10/2006 15:40

That's a lot of supplements MrsMcJnr!! I am taking folic acid and grapefruit juice - the miser that I am but I do usually manage 5-6 portions of fruit and veg a day so should be getting plenty of vits from that lot.
would anyone recommend I start taking pre-natal supplements??

babydust and crossed fingers for KitKat and all the rest on their 2ww. x

sunshinedays · 19/10/2006 16:00

Hope you don't mind a newbie .. been lurking and thought it time to say hi!

Does anyone know how soon B6 effects the LP? How much should be taken... and can you overdo it?

Good luck to all on the 2ww

sunshinedays · 19/10/2006 17:16

Ooops - sorry think I might have butted in .

ready4motherhood · 19/10/2006 17:35

Not at all sunshine... everyone on MN is very welcoming. I joined this thread way after it started. I don't know about b6 to answer your question, but I am sure that someone will know and will reply when they can.

Are you on your 2ww??

babydust x

PinkButterfly · 19/10/2006 18:35

Evening all ! How are we ?

Welcome mrspf and sunshinedays.

mrspf - you testing tomorrow then ?

Sunshinedays - sorry I know nothing about supplements etc but sure MrsMcJnr will be able to fill you in.

Hey Kitkat - how we doing today ? Sorry to hear about your bfn but it may just be way too early - especially if your AF isn't maybe due until as late as 26th. Maybe you should wait other few days - your symptoms sound really positive! Was reading up on the tests from ?diagnosics that we spoke about earlier this week and they have a test which picks up 10Miu - you can get 5 tests for eight quid - maybe you should do that (more sensitive tests for way less the price??).

Pancha - how are you doing ? Tempted to test early being on this thread I bet!!!??

Last but not least MrsMcJnr - let the baby dancing commence..... lots of baby dust to you hon! Wanted to pick up on your point about what should be taken pre and post ov. You said that green tea and grapefruit juice should only be pre-ov ??? I drink tons of grapefruit j and green tea generally - should I be avoiding that now ???

All is fine with me - still getting +++ tests and still feeling mightly bleeuuuhhhhh! Staying on this thread with you guys though - not ready to move over to the antenatal thread just yet - IS THAT OK ??

Sorry ready4motherhood - missed you there. Have seen you on October thread - sorry you are moving over to November - lots of baby dust to you for next month! x

KitKat30 · 19/10/2006 19:07

Hi girls - DH is out tonight so have the telly and PC to myself. Yippee! Might even be really sad and watch the Wedding Planner on filmfour tonight!

PinkB - good news about the positives. Def stay on this thread for a while!! You're my good luck charm anyway...no going anywhere for a few more days please!

sunshinedays - welcome! No idea about supplements I'm afraid, this is my first month TTC and I know nothing. MrsMcJ is def the font of all knowledge here...

When is everyone testing then? My next go is Sat I think...might see if i can get some of those super sensitive ones from Access Diagnostics then...

Oh god - was reading the pregnancy boards today (wishful thinking!) and I read something about mooncups, which are an alternative to tampons. Sound really odd - has anyone tried them? (sorry if TMI before dinner!)

xx

PinkButterfly · 19/10/2006 19:31

Ahhhh Kitkat , I whole house to yourself (with control of TV!!) - don't remember what that's like! lol

I have had both boys with me all day and night all week - have not much hair left!!

Don't you be worrying about me going anywhere - won't be moving over to the Antenatal thread for a few more weeks yet (fingers crossed). We will still be chatting plenty no matter. Think if you get your BFP this month you would be going to Antenatal for July ? (and fingers crossed that MrsMcJnr and others would be going with you!).

Enjoy your evening! x

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 19/10/2006 19:46

BFP this month...feels so weird thinking about it. I have no idea what's going on with me - at the moment I keep running to the loo because I think AF is on its way - but then nothing! Would be good if I did get a BFP this month - nice to go through the same thing with someone else at the same time!!

So strange...my head is all over the place. So desperately want a BFP - but then a small part of me wants it to just be me and DH on our own forever! I think maybe it's because if it does happen this month (fingers crossed), it will be so much sooner than eithr of us expected...dont know if I've got my head around it properly. I suppose everyone worries that a baby will affect their relationship. How did you find it with your DS1 (if you dont mind me asking - if you do, tell me to mind my own! )

x

PinkButterfly · 19/10/2006 20:25

No don't mind you asking at all. We were only 25 when we had ds1 and had never lived with each other until one week before he was born. Didn't change our relationship greatly other than we were aware it wasn't just us any more and we had to put this wee person before anything and anybody else. It is a change when you are used to spending time together/apart, long lies, reading books etc etc etc and you can't do these things so easily. You have to make sure you get regular time to yourself so you remember you are a couple as well as parents or it can take over. It's all good and worth it (or else I wouldn't be going for my third when I could be having long lies, reading books etc !) x

KitKat30 · 19/10/2006 20:45

Thanks PinkB - always good to hear from someone who's been through it before. Anyway, am going to settle down for crap telly (and wait for DH to come rolling home ). Enjoy your eve, put your feet up and get your DH to make you a lovely cup of tea! chat in the morning x

PinkButterfly · 20/10/2006 10:16

Morning everyone.

Kitkat - hope you enjoyed the rest of your evening. Are you going to go online and order these tests today ? Think they would be with you in tomorrow's post if you order today.

MrsMcJnr - ((((hugs)))) - saw the November thread this morning - hope you had a nice relaxing snuggle with DH last night and are feeling better today.

Everyone else doing ok ?? Mrspf - are you testing today ??

I did my clearblue test this morning and got a very bold BFP within about 5 secs!! Actually feeling a bit excited today.

xx
