So sorry lumen take care of yourself Flowers

I thought everyone called them that! I read it somewhere before I started my treatment and thought "eeewwww". But it is accurate! And you knew what I meant Wink

IamKuma · 21/11/2014 10:44

lumen I'm so sorry to hear your news. Big hugs.

Re the German word, they do have the word Gluckschmerz, which is feeling sad as a result of someone's happiness. Was that thread such a long time ago? Vintage berries, help me out!!!

So much to catch up on but no time... See you all after work.

tigerdog · 21/11/2014 11:28

Ah kuma that's the one. I thought I'd imagined it Confused

sparechange · 21/11/2014 12:05

tiger
I think trill and I are next on the 27th
unless I cave the day before

TheRainDrops · 21/11/2014 12:34

lumen I'm so sorry it didn't work this time. Definitely good to plan some actions for follow up but in the meantime I hope you and DH are looking after each other well.

nolly your boss sounds like a total arse. Well done for not going all Falling Down on him.

trill fanny candle! Definitely not one you'd want to burn, I know scented candles are very popular these days but that'd be a stretch...

gil good news that you were able to get the scan although that round trip sounds like a total ball ache.

beaky no wonder you feel that way. As small as the doc makes it out to be its not surprising its playing on your mind. Hope it's all dealt with quickly! No idea if we'll get an actual date at the next appt, not really sure how it all works! I'm assuming she'll make them referral then but we'll have to wait for our funding to be approved and I don't know if that's something that happens while you wait for your appt or if it has to happen first. The wait at our clinic is approx 8 weeks so depending on the funding approval I suppose it'll be March-ish? The nurse suggested that unless I had definite cycle problems (I don't) then I'd be long protocol - does that sound right?? Sounds a bit tipsy turban to me!

TheRainDrops · 21/11/2014 12:35

Gah, topsy turvy!

Trillium73 · 21/11/2014 12:51

spare I'm working on the 27th, my next day off won't be until Dec 1st so I might have to wait until then! Eeekkk! I don't fancy doing the test and then heading straight to work. We'll see how strong my resolve is! How are you feeling?

tigerdog · 21/11/2014 12:57

Ooh rain we'll potentially be cycle buddies if you're kicking off mid March. Long protocol here too as standard although will see if my AMH result throws up anything of significance.

Can you tell I don't feel like working today?! Bring on the weekend!

beakybeak · 21/11/2014 13:22

Rain our clinic is long protocol as standard too. Topsy turvey could be right! I think Happy did short protocol, she may know! I'm sure someone who knows will be along soon! Fx you get the funding quickly then. New year wants to be a good one for us all!

tiger I definitely have days like that! I'm off today (woohoo) as we have friends coming.

Trill wow if you can hold out til then that's amazing, but I understand why you would. How are you feeling? And Spare how are you feeling?

I have really heavy spotting today Confused grim. 7 days before AF! Great eh!

sparechange · 21/11/2014 14:58

Trill You're going to WAIT EXTRA DAYS?
I'm feeling fine. Only thing out of the ordinary is that I have to get up in the night to go to the loo, which is very unlike me. Now up to twice a night! But it could be the prednisilone causing that? Or just that I'm drinking more water in the day to try and distract myself from missing coffee and diet coke!
the 26th is DH's birthday, and I'm away for work all day before meeting him for dinner. I'm half tempted to do a surreptitious test just in case. If it is BFP, then it is a nice surprise for him. If it is BFN, we can still do the test together on the 27th and I'll do a poker face if it is another BFN.

If for some miracle it is a bfp, we can go back to the clinic to get a blood test if we want. Not sure what this would show, other than whether hcg levels are correct. Has anyone bothered with this? I'll need to book the appointment early next week if we want it

sparechange · 21/11/2014 14:59

trill
Sorry! So rude of me not to ask how you are doing. Feeling ok? Any symptoms?

happylass · 21/11/2014 16:08

Trill I completely understand your reasoning. There's no way I could've gone in to work after testing. Don't think I'd be able to wait longer though- I'd have to test early!
Rain they didn't say why I was on short protocol and I didn't ask as I was just glad to be getting it all over and done with fairly quickly! I always assumed that it was because of my lower AMH though? Easier to down reg? That's just my theory though - I may be way off the mark!

Trillium73 · 21/11/2014 17:14

I'm feeling okay today spare just tired. How are you doing? If I want to test early happy it would need to be Monday which I think would be far too soon. I'll just have to wait and see. Might try to get Thursday off Smile

Pipbin · 21/11/2014 17:15

Do it Trill. Or claim a hospital appointment in the morning so you can take the morning off.

Trillium73 · 21/11/2014 17:30

Good idea pip! Although even a hospital appointment won't necessarily mean I get time of Hmm manager isn't the most accommodating/helpful. I thought of you in the night (not as creapy as it sounds!). I came to feeling uncomfortable and went to roll over (I was on my back) and was having difficulty cos kitty was lying on my tummy Grin! If kitty is in at night time he sometimes snuggles behind my knees but he doesn't sleep on my tummy. Can I consider it a sign??

Pipbin · 21/11/2014 17:49

Has to be Trill. The single time that my cat has ever sat on anyone's lap was that one time.
It was 4 days after embryo transfer.

Roll up! Roll up! Mount those uni cycles and shake those pom poms. The Elderberry Pavlovas are drumming away in the hope of a Christmas clusterdiff (Thread 24).
sparechange · 21/11/2014 17:53

trill Definitely the time to get that emergency dentist appointment...
I need a poas buddy!

Pipbin · 21/11/2014 18:42

Could you get up early Trill so you can take your time?

WildflowerMarmalade · 21/11/2014 19:54

Yes, yes to an emergency appointment Trill! I totally get why you don't want to go straight to work afterwards. I felt exactly the same about it and I did wait one extra day, but one is manageable. Come up with some ruse to give you a morning off, you will need the extra time to get your head round your amazing news.

Well done to Kuma on remembering Gluckschmerz. Does what it says on the tin, as German words tend to.

Jelliebabe2 · 21/11/2014 21:09

Lumen sheet to hear your news. Gutting, hugs and wine honey x

We got offered a donor today! V excited. Ec would be 12 feb . we decided that we might fly out then after ec get the train to Vienna, so we could be in Vienna for valentines day! Squeeeee. GrinGrinGrin

Pipbin · 21/11/2014 23:22

Jellie. I've been full of self pity with my IVF but to have wait to find donor eggs must be dreadful.
Great news for you.
Lumen stay strong.
Trill no way can you wait that long.

beakybeak · 22/11/2014 00:05

Brilliant news jellie Grin very pleased for you and Vienna on valentines!

Pixie001 · 22/11/2014 08:43

Happy weekend berries! Woo hoo!! Been hell of a week so I got one am veerry pleased wknd is here. Still sat in bed an DH had brought me up a cuppa.
Jellie that's brilliant news! So how will it work in terms of process, drugs etc? And is it the same as here with donor matching criteria and do same rights apply for a child, if it was to be successful, to have access to details about the donor? How's your cough?
Nolly what an absolute prick!!
Lumen how you doing today?
Rain great to hear your progress.
Spare and trill hope the wee and cat are good signs.
Gill how's brecons part 1?
Happy how low was your amh? I was low fertility but still on long protocol. I wonder whether it's just an FC preference.. Have great time at wedding today. Love 'em I do.
Beaky sorry about the spotting...I agree it's grim!
Smidge are you camping now?
Things progressing well with me thanks. EC Mon so trigger shot tonight. Just waiting on a call to confirm times. Feeling bit emotional. This time last year you older berries may remember we were sat in front of a consultant who was telling us that we were an unlucky couple who wouldn't have chance to have our own kids. So I'm feeling blessed we have now got to this point at least. Smile

Pipbin · 22/11/2014 08:49

Yay Pixie exciting times on Monday! I found doing the trigger shot very stressful as it has to be at exactly the right time. Too much responsibility.
How are you feeling about the EC?

Lumen. Thinking of you.

beakybeak · 22/11/2014 09:42

Great news pixie! Hope the trigger isn't too stressful and I'm not surprised your emotional, what a year to have been through, but I am so pleased that you have managed to get to this point. Good luck for Monday Smile

Lumen thinking of you, we are here whenever you need us x

hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. We have friends to stay so going to a Christmas market later. Spotting has got heavier and looks a bit like AF but I always get terrible cramp etc so I know it's not. Hmm. FC consultation on Wednesday so will bring it up again then I think.
