KatieV130 · 01/12/2014 16:04

notta SO pleased for you, congratulations. Really made me smile, it's great to hear the good news. Sober Christmas for you then!!
ranch, sorry to hear that, I'd rather hear you were on the OJ too but keep the faith. Good luck with the tests.
Welcome everyone else, keep thinking I'll do some ov tests and check the cm etc but then again may just do the whole dtd every couple of days and hope for the best! AF should be finished in a couple of days so will get back in the saddle... so to speak...Grin xx

KatieV130 · 01/12/2014 16:06

Also, welcome raeside, and lighthouse hope you have enjoyed your day off, sounds like the best way to spend a day off to me Wink.

PinkHydrangea · 01/12/2014 16:35

Hi all

Can I join? I just got on the TTC bus today (yesterday was my last pill day).

I just posted about needing help with interpreting a pelvic scan I've had today.

If anyone can help with that (posted it around an hour ago) I'd be so grateful!

In the meantime I'd love to join this thread. I'm 37 and a half, have been on the pill since time began and have never TTC before = scary!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 01/12/2014 17:33

notta, massive congrdtulations! Another old bird up duffed, come join us on the antenatal thread. So pleased for you

Hey - congratulations notta - always fab to hear another old bird with good news.

Sorry about your AF ranchgirl. It sucks.

Katie - meant to say earlier you didn't sound at all smug about how you got pregnant easily the first time.

Am somewhere between 7-10 dpo and dithering about going an early test just because I can't bear the waiting - but know you can get false negative or even worse it doesn't work and then you get a period. Does anyone have any advice??

Hugs to everyone xxx

Sparrowlegs248 · 01/12/2014 18:30

Thanks ladies, i am quite amazed! Where do I find that thread Ginger?

Sober Christmas indeed, not only that but works 'do' Friday, need a plausible excuse for not drinking!

Voila notta, we're keeping a place warm for you xx

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 01/12/2014 20:47

Hi Kate, I can certainly think of worse ways to spend my time.
Congratulations Notta.
Hope to graduate soon myself.

KatieV130 · 02/12/2014 11:08

Notta, can you have to drive home after your work's do? I always think the old antibiotics line is transparent. What about migraine / headache medication that you can't drink on?
Alternatively, get a lemonade, say it's a G&T and just make sure you always get your own drinks and pretend a hangover. The other one I thought of was pretending to be really hungover that day from an accidental drunken night the night before and you just can't face the thought of drinking. Hate that we have to pretend!

KatieV130 · 02/12/2014 11:09

Thanks glacier, I didn't like the thought I'd been insensitive, I know it's such an upsetting time.
Here's to exciting Christmas presents for us all :-)

ranchgirl · 02/12/2014 12:25

Notta, the lemonade sounds a good idea, but I always use the driving excuse. I can't believe some people are so bloody blunt enough so ask sometimes but that's folk I guess!

Had bloods done this morning and back on Monday. Should have DH results back by then too. Happened to bump into my Dad in the doctor's this morning so that'll be an interrogation next time I see them. I've told my BF but no one else about our investigations. I just don't want the endless questions. Although if it comes to IVF we might need a loan so I'd better start buttering up both sets of parents!

stubbornstains · 02/12/2014 14:10

Cut and pasted from another thread on the Drinking Issue (but this is my patent, failsafe excuse):

I believe I have found the failsafe "not drinking" excuse. Simply say you're having the month off booze because you were worried about your alcohol consumption creeping up, and then launch into a long, pointed lecture about how "we" all drink too much. Lay it on thick with stats about the growing incidence of liver disease in women, wine being the middle class vice (assuming you could call yourself middle class), how you shouldn't be drinking like a 20 year old as you get older (assuming you are older!), etc.etc.etc.

Works like a dream. Prepare yourself for the round of apologies for acting like a po faced killjoy after the Announcement (assuming you have any friends left by then, that is) wink.

Shock at bumping into your dad in the doctor's ranchgirl. The horror! Especially so if your dad was seeing the doc about something embarrassing too....

Sparrowlegs248 · 02/12/2014 16:09

Thanks for the suggestions ladies. Trouble is they all know me too well and I do like a drink....... I'll think of something.

Really feeling like I need an instruction book or something. Need to cut down on tea and coffee. Ate a bag of cashews then wondered if that was bad or not?"?! Am at work abduction all i want to do is Google!!

ranchgirl · 02/12/2014 17:45

DH results came back: inconclusive. So he's got to do it all over again, poor love. Feels like another step back and more waiting. :-( won't have the results before I go for mine so u guess unless there's a problem with me we'll have to wait for a referral.

it all feels really bloody crap.

patch77 · 03/12/2014 18:37

Hello all

Still waiting to hear about my results

GlacierLight · 05/12/2014 14:09

Ah sorry to hear you both are waiting ranchgirl & patch. I think waiting and not knowing are the pits.

Got AF today. Early. I'm a daft old bat as had convinced myself had worked this month as had sore boobs for the past week. Am determined no more symptom watching ever again. Rah. Hope others are having a better day. Waves.

KatieV130 · 05/12/2014 16:39

Glacier that totally got me last month too... sore boobs, totally wiped out etc. Sorry to hear AF has arrived, it's so rubbish.
Am back on the job, so to speak, also doing ov tests. Not sure if they do any good but interested to see if I get any results.

Hope everyone else has good weekends, am off to have some wine, it's the only consolation! Grin

GlacierLight · 05/12/2014 18:30

Thanks Katie. Am
Heading home for a large glass of wine Smile
And gonna go to the GP next week to get the ball rolling on tests. Rah.

ranchgirl · 05/12/2014 18:59

Evening ladies. I'm 40 tomorrow and got AF this week so quite frankly I'm going to be trollied! In fact, I'm on my way already :-)
Results for me on Monday. Hubby delivered his swimmers this morning. Gulp.
Have a fab weekend xx
