The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

Barking lovely to hear from you, hope the new job is going well! I think the time delays are taking their toll but you are right, it's closer all the time.

Kuma excellent news re cancellation, sorry not sure about the sex after that but I'm sure dr google will know Grin

Rain !!!! fx for testing tomorrow! And boo again to your boss, how many times!

Tiger you must be super strong! And agree that nolly should go for the lap, it can't hurt eh!

Seren nice to see you back lady, hope you're ok.

Bushy sorry to hear it's not all over, fx it is very soon. I think re stress, cortisol affects other hormones which is a potential link to infertility but that's definitely not an across the board explanation. It never hurts to try and keep stress levels down though eh!

Welcome to grace -sorry your here though. Get yourself to the drs ASAP, waiting lists are massive!

Sorry to people I've missed - couldn't scroll back as on phone.

Well hello again on this brand spanking new thread. Feeling much more positive today and choosing to conclude that the consultant just wants the excuse to get us in for a proper appointment to charge us another $400!

Have gone back and re-looked at our stats and I think they fall well within the average range so I don't see why the 'state of our embryos' should be any reason to presume we'll never have success. Am choosing to presume the doctor wants to suggest new /more drugs to get more eggs in the first place or something. And have read up a bit on assisted hatching just in case we might be contenders. Trying to get that 'business like' mentality ready! No tears today though presume they'll be back again at some point - think I used up a month's worth yesterday!! I really was a blubbering wreck! Maybe it was the build up of progesterone too. It did claim a side effect might be feelings of worthlessness etc. though I blame the secretary for that!

ladybunnikins · 14/08/2014 06:09

When I first started lurking on TTC boards it took me ages to work out what Fx meant! F tightly Xed for you Rain.
Smidge I went from 22 eggs to just one blastocyst on my first cycle. On my second we got 3 frosties and I don't know if this was because of the change from gonal f to menopur or because I was taking DHEA, coenzyme q10 and royal jelly, or just random chance. If you're not already taking DHEA though it might be something to look in to?
I'm 19 dpo and this is further than I got with the IVF chemical. Just POA FRER and the test line is now darker than the control line.

TheRainDrops · 14/08/2014 07:00

BFFN, curse those dodgy ICs with their leaky dye! Tbh I wasn't expecting anything else, am mega PMS-y and have woken up with the biggest red zit ON MY LIP. Thanks universe, you're a doll! Hmm

Ah well, at least I can enjoy drinks guilt free now! Smile

tigerdog · 14/08/2014 07:55

damn those mo-fo's rain and definitely enjoy a drink or two later!

WildflowerMarmalade · 14/08/2014 08:20

spot on lip, rain ? That really adds insult to injury.

You are very brave to do the crow pose tiger the crow terrifies me and I am far too weak to do it. If you can do that tiger then you can do anything I reckon.

smidge, lady is right to highlight DHEA and Co-Q10 as things to look at for egg quality. I downloaded the book kumamentioned ('It Starts With The Egg' Rebecca Fett) and it is great. She has trawled through all the available studies and gives good info on what to take and how much. Glad you are feeling better today.

GnomieGrace · 14/08/2014 08:28

Sorry to hear that rain Thanks

beakybeak · 14/08/2014 08:28

Lady that's great! Do you feel able to get a little excited at all? Would that put you at just under 5 weeks pg then? brain hurts from thinking about that

Rain sorry it's a bfn and yes the lip spot is a kick in the bollocks too. I have three on my chin at the moment one if which is taking over the world.

Smidge hope you are ok, and that lady on the phone clearly has no empathy or self awareness

Wild do you take those supplements already then?

ladybunnikins · 14/08/2014 08:50

Beaky yes, 4+5. Think it will feel more real tomorrow when I tell my sister but I reckon I'm a pessimist. Off on holiday on Sat, just to Holland, and I'm not going to pack any tests.

lumen · 14/08/2014 09:07

Sorry rain, enjoy a few bevvies this weekend. Glad to hear I am not the only one to get spotty around AF time, although sorry you have one on your lip, ouch!

Still have everything crossed for you lady.

I read that book yesterday wild and so started taking coq10 this morning Grin had some royal jelly to take too but am not so sure now having read her book. She is so right about us all consulting dr google though.

WildflowerMarmalade · 14/08/2014 09:09

lady my congratulations too. I'm very excited for you, but I can understand why you are keeping a lid on it a bit. Fab news though.

beaky - am I heck taking all those supplements. I've been looking into what supplements it might be worth taking, but it is such a morass and a minefield out there on the internet that I felt really confused. After reading that book I've made a plan and I'm going shopping.

winohhh · 14/08/2014 09:14

Hello everyone! Just wanted to pop in from the chopper and add my experience of dhea and co q10 also, in case it helps. I have low ovarian reserve also (was told by 2 doctors that we should think about adoption or donor eggs). Managed to get pregnant naturally, then miscarried at 10w although pregnancy had stopped at 6w. Started taking dhea and co q10 and third cycle after miscarriage got pregnant again, currently 16w5d. Definitely not feeling like I'm in the clear yet but further than I've ever been. It may not have been the dhea etc, but you never know.

I think they don't recommend it if you have endo, and often best to check it out with FC first (I think it's best practice to do a blood test to check what your dhea levels are first). But I would definitely recommend exploring that option.

Sorry for the essay, I'll go back to lurking now!!

WildflowerMarmalade · 14/08/2014 09:21

Grin at the coq10 lumen! That is on my list if things to get - or rather ubiquinol. I was on the verge of ordering some royal jelly but I'm not going to bother now.

greatbigbushybeard · 14/08/2014 09:38

Hmmm, interesting winooh. Is it just me or is anyone else a bit scared of taking dhea? Maybe it's because I don't know much about it and am I right saying it's not available in this country?

lumen why does she say royal jelly isn't so good? I got buy one get one for a penny so have a shit load of it!!wild kuma what are the main points in the book for those of us who might not buy it? I don't know whether buying it will be in the spirit of ' relaxing' or not but the curiosity might get the better of me! I liked the Emma cannon book.

Talking about egg quality I have low amh and egg quality was something I really wanted to improve so I took royal jelly, co enzyme q10 ( along with folic acid, vitamin d, vit c and zinc, evening primrose oil... Also took maca for a while to boost fertility but stopped) and when we had Ivf they were really pleased with the quality of the eggs and dh had low count and motility and he took l'arginine- blue bottle from holland and Barrett and they were really chuffed with his sperm at Ivf and said it was pretty much back up to 'normal' standards!

I'm thinking of going down to taking pregnacare conception, as that has all the vits you need and then taking royal jelly, co enzyme and epo as they're the ones not inc in pregnacare because the amt of vits in a morning is getting a bit silly. I still have separate folic and vit left so am using those up too in addition. I take it there's not a problem with taking extra folic acid and bit d on top of pregnacare as I bought a combined boots tub thinking that would cut down the amount of bottles in cupboard- do you think there's any point taking extra?

ladybunnikins · 14/08/2014 10:32

Bushy I bought my DHEA on amazon.
No harm in extra folic acid and a higher dose (5mg) is recommended for certain groups of people. I asked my consultant if it would be worth taking the higher dose anyway and she said that since I was taking coq10 and it has similar effects then just to stick with the 400mcg dose.

lumen · 14/08/2014 11:08

bushy I don't have the book on me but the basic idea was that it is not a substance that is natural to our bodies, some people can be allergic, it contains some of the bee sting venom and there haven't been enough studies into the effects it has on our hormones. I got a load on the penny sale in h&b too, might have to palm it off in my mum, tell her it is good for old people Wink. She also said that coq10 can improve sperm but didn't mention the stuff you had your dh on? Where did you hear about that?

IamKuma · 14/08/2014 12:00

Not got time to do a proper post but I took DHEA for 3 months before IVF no side effects other than greasy spotty skin. My FC told me to take it but stop when I started stimming. I got mine from a website called Biovea. I'm low AMH/ ov reserve with an antral follicle count of 3. Egg quality was good (grade 1) but quantity was low (2).

I have had DH on coq10, cod liver oil and pregnacare, he went from a low count to a normal count but unfortunately has high anti sperm antibodies and sperm binding as a result of it.

Pixie001 · 14/08/2014 13:02

What kinda dosage q10 would you Dr Berries suggest? Not that I'm on the H&B page or anything.
I have a new phone arrived today and, whilst i have no clue what it does, can see it's gonna be seriously life changing! So much easier to read the thread!

IamKuma · 14/08/2014 13:08

600mg per day Pixie. Grab the 200mg capsules whilst they are in the penny sale. The are pricey!!!

Pixie001 · 14/08/2014 13:15

Flippin heck...so that'd be 3 pills a day? Hmm..how many bottles to buy?!

lumen · 14/08/2014 13:23

I made the mistake of buying the 30mg ones and the max it says to take is 6 in a day, I will be getting the 100mg ones next time

lumen · 14/08/2014 13:23

Typo the 200mg ones hops on to h&b website

Pixie001 · 14/08/2014 13:29

Free delivery today too expecting my commission payment anytime soon.

lumen · 14/08/2014 13:36

Ordered Wink, I think the berries should be on commission for h&b!

KittenOfWoe · 14/08/2014 14:45

Picked up a prescription today for extra folic acid - they look like sweeteners!! Glad it's smaller than the bloody omega oil caps I'm taking, they make me gag, catching my throat every time. Do we all basically rattle now??
