The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

MissSnow thanks for this! I am def going to go back just nervous about tasking more drugs whilst I'm TTC! I'll keep you posted!
Big fat BFP to all you POS ladies tomorrow! Too early for me ;-)

MrsGlitter · 25/07/2014 00:19

Grrr AF def here. Right before I go to festival for the weekend! I suppose I can have a drink though. Every cloud Wine Hmm

Treaclepie19 · 25/07/2014 07:12

Oh no Mrsglitter :(
Like yousay, at least you can have a drink.
I really don't think I've ovulated yet. Got my peak opk on cd13 but I've had no temp rise.

Doesn't really matter this month but still a little unusual for me.

OP posts:
LittleMissSnowShine · 25/07/2014 07:41

mrsglittter - oh no,AF never fun to deal with in tent / portaloo Brew but a few cold beers in the sun should help. Have a good weekend and fx this new cycle will be the lucky one for you if AF does show up

treacle - it's so hard to tell! I can't use opks cos I have pros and they don't work but I wish I could just to have some idea!

I was shifting a bit of light furniture last night while tidying up some of kids toys (duplo blocks everywhere!) Went up to go to bed afterwards and I had had some more v light spotting. When I was v v early pg with DS2 it was just a few months after I had had mc and I was v on edge about any bleeding and every time I did anything even mildly strenuous at the start if had spotting so I ended up needing early scan at EPU and being on bed rest for a while til bleeding settled down. So now when I see light bleeding, I worry it is AF but then no AF shows up this morning so I get excited that maybe it's implantation bleeding but then I think ok maybe just maybe I am pg but then bleeding could be a bad sign. At this rate I am getting too nervous to poas and I have no idea when AF is even due after mc 6 weeks ago....Confused

Any bfps from the poas posse this morn??!

LittleMissSnowShine · 25/07/2014 07:43

*pcos not pros!

broodylicious · 25/07/2014 07:52

Hi noisy, I think if I were your friend, I'd poas. If she hasn't bled since June 14th, I'd hope the test would be negative to show that all retained product (I hate that expression so much) has indeed gone and her hcg has gone down. If the test is positive, she will need to go to the docs as it could be a new pregnancy or still remnants of the old pregnancy/hormones not gone down enough. Good luck to your friend.

Good luck to everyone poas today. Let's have at least a couple of bfps - don't think we've had one for a few days, have we? Sending lots of posifrickentivity vibes Smile

hope, how are you feeling now? You've been in my thoughts.

treacle hope you're feeling better today. It must be so annoying not being able to use the pessary. I used the cream you insert a few years back and it did work so hopefully you'll be good as new again soon xx

I'm on cd5 of cycle 2 ttc #2 so prepped and ready to go for it this month.... Although as we are supposed to be moving house in a few weeks, we won't be trying too hard this month (due to stress, aggro and exhaustion and, as I'm self employed I'm trying to fit in as much work as I can so I'm ahead of myself and my clients won't notice if I don't do work the week we move!) Maybe relaxed TITH will help though...

broodylicious · 25/07/2014 08:03

Hello missSnow Just seen that you have a tilted womb (from reading your post below). Has it caused you much aggro? Was it through tests as result of mc that you found out? My sister has a tilting and disintegrating womb Hmm She had really heavy painful periods and spotting throughout her cycle as well so she went to

broodylicious · 25/07/2014 08:09

Arrrgh sorry!
....her GP who was useless and she r had to push for tests. Anyway, despite the results, she got a bfp and my nephew turned three last month! So there's some positivity for you Smile

MrsGlitter · 25/07/2014 08:09

TMI question warning!!!!! This being my second period since MC, it's arrived four days early and is quite heavy with some smallish clots. Did anyone else have this in the second period too? First was worse, bigger clots, but I naively assumed it may have settled down by now. Hmmmmm...

Treaclepie19 · 25/07/2014 08:25

Thanks broody, did the cream take a long time to work? I used it Tuesday night and still feeling pretty rubbish.

Mrsglitter I'd say that's normal. My af has changed a fair bit since the miscarriage.

And for your loss too Thanks Fingers crossed then HopefulMum for your BFP asap and to everyone x

greysar · 25/07/2014 09:09

MrsG my second AF after mc was way worse than first- ridiculously heavy and clots, I had to double up protection and still soaed through within a couple of hours... grim!! Brew definitely required.

sebsmummy1 · 25/07/2014 09:11

Stupidly took my temp this morning, having not temped for months and not at all this cycle!! 36.48, obviously not pregnant but now deciding that maybe my thyroid is screwed. I did have it tested last year and it was fine. Can anyone check their pre-AF temps for me and let me know if that temp seems horribly low?

Thank you xx

Monten · 25/07/2014 09:20

Hi ladies, hello to all the newbies. Can’t keep up! Sorry you are here but having been dealt a shitty hand you have found a good place to rant, moan, swear and indeed giggle. My visits to doctor google have certainly decreased since I joined this thread that can only be a good thing.

Mrsglitter my second AF after TFMR was much longer and heavier than normal. This time after MMC it has been much lighter and shorter. Go figure. Unfortunately I think anything really goes. I do think its so unfair that not only do we have to deal with this awful thing but we then have to cope with the worry of bodies changing. Miscarriage is the gift that keeps on giving Thanks In my experience though the changes did not mean anything sinister. It sucks though.

sebs Can we talk about boobs please? You sound very knowledgeable. As I mentioned, my boobs seem to go up and down all the time which is confusing. I’ve tried to google which hormone causes boobage action to no avail. You mentioned bigger boobs meaning you are still in the luteal phase, is this correct? Does that mean progesterone? No reason really, I just find the whole thing quite fascinating #knockerwatch

LittleMissSnowShine · 25/07/2014 09:32

Poor you mrsg - hopefully just your body getting ready for a fresh start this cycle. Take it easy if you can and remember if bleeding is heavy and you are in this heat wave, it can be v easy to get dehydrated so lots of juice and tea for you

broody - I knew my mum had a tilted uterus and she had a difficult time ttc me and my sister, she actually had an operation in 1988 to do something to her womb to 'fix' the tilt. Those operations don't really tend to be done any more but it took my mum 4 years to get pg with my sister and it only happened after the op so who knows really. A nurse had mentioned to me she thought I might have the same thing during a smear about 10 years ago but I didn't think much about it and then midwife told me I def did when I was pg with DS1. Then I read an article somewhere saying tilted womb owners were more likely to have bad back ache during AF / labour and more susceptible to cystitis. Like your sis tho it hasn't been a problem for me really apart from the utis and back pain during labour Grin it's meant to be common enough though! like maybe 1 in 4 women or something...hopefully not something you have tho! We have enough to think about tv without wondering about the angle of our uterus lol

sebsmummy1 · 25/07/2014 09:34

I'm not sure it was me that mentioned boobs, but I'll still answer.

All I know is that someone wrote online that tingling nipples were more oestrogen linked and under the armpit boob tenderness was more progesterone geared. The only real symptom I can remember in my pregnancy in January, before I lost it, was tingly nipples, so I'm really not sure how true that is. There again my progesterone must have been plummeting for the mc to happen so maybe my oestrogen was high. I have no idea. It's just another question mark for us to ponder over lol.

Metalhead · 25/07/2014 09:44

I think it was me with the boobs!Grin Normally, progesterone takes over as the dominant hormone afte ov whic causes breast pain, though there is also still some estrogen floating around. And like sebs I've read that pain around the nipple area can mean an estrogen dominance whereas side pain is progesterone-related. I've only found one source for this, but it hasn't stopped me worrying as ever since my ill-fated last pregnancy I've had pain around the nipples, whereas before it was always at the side... just another things to panic about!

I'm not very hopeful for this month, 9dpo and still no creamy cm which I had lots of last time. My boobs also don't seem to be getting any sorer, so am fully expecting AF next week. Starting to feel like it's never going to happen again, we literally threw everything at it this month and have been timing it perfectly ever since starting ttc again in March... Sad

RiverRocks · 25/07/2014 09:45

Morning ladies,

Have we not got anyone poas today?

I have a confession - I went to Mothercare last night to get some bras to sleep in as my boobs are killing me and all of mine are wired, and they had a sale on. So I bought some maternity clothes. Currently 4+5 - I've just jinxed myself, haven't I Sad?

Hope you don't mind me hanging around here, but I'm too scared to join one of the ante-natal threads and I can't join in with their naïve optimism but still want people to talk to Thanks

sebsmummy1 · 25/07/2014 10:08

Funny enough I have had a lot of side boob tenderness this cycle and yet nothing else to really suggest high progesterone. I think it's gym related, I do quite a lot of work outs and I'm probably doing quite a lot of pec exercises without even being aware of it.

If Seasides hpt sticks arrive this morning I think I will POAS just to get this cycle out the way. It's pissing me off now as I want to know when AF is coming.

greysar · 25/07/2014 10:18

Sebs, my temps are between 34.0 and 34.3 pre ovulation and then between 34.4 and 34.6 post ov, pre AF. Not over yet!

Fx its implantation hopeful!
We are day 13 of cycle 16 since our mc. Making sure oh knows we have to dtd as much as possible lol Then of course comes the ss and poas totally pointlessly! I am sure there needs to be a poas addicts anonymous!

Monten · 25/07/2014 12:09

Sorry sebs - I bet that's the first time a stranger has asked to talk to you about boobs Grin

Thanks metal - v interesting. I dont get sore boobs as such, they just inflate and deflate all the time. I guess they just have a life of their own. And perhaps I should stop obsessing about them (maybe I was a bloke in my previous life Hmm

Metalhead · 25/07/2014 14:19

Don't worry Monten you're not the only one - I'm constantly poking my boobs to check soreness! (Between that and checking cm every time I go the loo I must seem like a right weirdo...)

Jetpackplease · 25/07/2014 18:01

Hey ladies, I've been AWOL from this thread for ages, but jumping back in.

Jettpack, 33, ttc#1, BFP cycle 1 Dec 13 followed by MMC and ERPC at 13 weeks Mar 14. Currently cycle 4 ttc post-MMC Sad

I had to stay away from MN for a while as I was having a really tough time and was not able to sort my head out. I had massive amounts of work stress (hate my job and would love to leave, but life's not that simple), and that combined with MMC grief and ttc desperation pretty much tipped me over the edge. I ended up complaining about my boss, who is an unmitigated arsehole, and my GP took one look at what a sobbing, dysfunctional mess I was and signed me off work for two weeks. I was sceptical, but it did help me to clear my head a bit and gradually the stress and anxiety levels have come down.

I am still batshit crazy when it comes to ttc, of course. For the last three cycles I have been temping and using CB dual hormone digi opks (and some ICs!), as well as Pre-seed. We've also smepped to the letter. Still nothing! So Metal I totally get where you're coming from with the frustration Sad I think it might be time for me to air my ttc paranoias and neuroses here again, rather than to poor DH, who does his best but cannot truly understand why I feel the way I do.

Anywaaaay, sorry for the me, me, me post. I will read back through the threads properly and catch up. Fx for BFPs for everyone as soon as humanly possible Thanks
