The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

Feather great news!

Lumen you too, sounding hopeful.

Barking.... You sound like me, always wanting everything to be shipshape. I don't know if this is relevant, but when I had some major kidney surgery a couple of years back, I prided myself on being back on email within 72 hours of the OP even though I was supposed to have 3 weeks off.

Actually I ended up feeling quite resentful even though it was my decision to go back early. Because then people expect you to be okay and doing stuff, but part of you is saying "but I feel siiiick!" And wanting to be at home. I know you know what you're doing, but just do take care of yourself.

And I take back all the excuses I made for your boss the other day. She is a wankcheese. In fact you would be most productively employed thinking of creative insults for her Grin

winohhh · 23/06/2014 20:03

Ha! Wank cheese!

Lumen, sounds like a good haul, fingers crossed for lots of fertilisation tonight!

Feather, phew, what a relief. Great news!! Now put your feet up!

Barking, your head sounds awful! I cannot believe it! You are well out of there. I do not have your work ethic I'm afraid. I'm already thinking about how I can cancel things if things go wrong tomorrow. I'm def not going in on wed.

IamKuma · 23/06/2014 20:20

barking what a tough position to be in, sounds like the head is being completely awful, but I can see your position and how you want to do the right thing by the kids. Just remember you need to do the right thing for you too. Thanks

lumen great news that you got 10 eggs, I hope everything went OK and you feel rested tomorrow. Fingers crossed that they all fertilise OK. Sounds like you'll have enough to go for a blasto transfer too.

feather glad to hear that the scan was OK and everything is still fine. Long may it continue!

spare thats so nice of you to go with your friend; I went to my transfer alone, didn't occur to me to take DH with me!

I've had lots of stabby pains and more spotting today; feel just like AF is about to arrive. Have decided not to test early, will wait till Weds as I'm not psychologically ready for a bfn yet. This 2ww is way worse than the procedure was.

For the stats list: kuma 39, 21 cycles ttc; high FSH, low AMH, low ovarian reserve; DH high anti-sperm ABs and high abnormal count; first stimulated IVF June 2014, 1 NHS natural cycle available to me later this year if this cycle doesn't work.

FeatherFeather11 · 23/06/2014 20:29

kuma I have everything crossed for you. Spotting could be anything and until af shows, there is still hope. Flowers

RevoltingPeasant · 23/06/2014 21:07

Kuma I know exactly how you feel in not wanting the bfn. just make sure you update us Wink

Gillster · 23/06/2014 21:25

Great news Feather, take it easy my lovely.

Good egg haul Lumen, will don the fertilisation pom poms and do a little fertility dance on your behalf. . Did they do ICSI and/or IVF?

Sterling effort Barking. Sorry you've had to deal with so much shit today. One day at a time I guess and just ignore your head, she's not worth the effort.

Hang in there Kuma, only ~36 hours to go!

Who has had a hysteroscopy here? I have had two before but they were both under GA. Wednesday's procedure won't involve a GA so just wondering what to expect pain wise.

funkymonk · 23/06/2014 21:44

What a shitty day you have had Barking. I hope that this is over for you soon and then onwards and upwards to the next IUI.

Lumen eggscellent haul there. Keep us posted tomorrow on how many have got jiggy.

Feather delighted that things are looking good for you. Are you still getting the bleeding/spotting? Are you on progesterone at all? (Sorry I am well aware that I harp on about progesterone pessaries. I know they are not the answer to everything!)

Kuma keeping positive for you. I have had spotting prior to 2 bfp's now, always at the same time that usual af spotting would arrive. That's why I rang last week to make the IVF appointment. 10dpo spotting, period on it's way...

So, we told DH's Granny. It was just the 2 of us there with her for a while again yesterday afternoon. She woke up and mumbled that she was thirsty. We gave her a sip of drink and then DH said that we had a secret to tell her and that we were going to have a baby. She suddenly found a powerful voice and said 'Are you?! I am delighted'! Cue lots of sobbing from both me and DH. She dozed for a few minutes and then suddenly said 'What is it?! Is it a boy'?! Bless her. That was the last thing she said to us before we needed to leave. They are up in Newcastle so DH said his final goodbyes before we left last night. I think MIL will take comfort knowing that we told her the news (if it all works out of course).

So I have a scan booked for next Tuesday. They wil confirm a uterine pregnancy (too early for heartbeat) and then I will start the daily heparin injections. As of yesterday I am now on 150mg aspirin and 800mg daily progesterone. I have been taking 5mg folic acid (prescription dose) for last 6 weeks or so. Barking and maybe Otters I think you should request 5mg folic acid. It's prescribed for recurrent miscarriages, which I know we aren't classed as officially until after 3, but I know someone else with two losses who takes it also.

wank cheese.

Barking your boss is a moron.

funkymonk · 23/06/2014 21:45

That's some crazy dancing Shock

HowsTheSerenity · 23/06/2014 22:10

gills I had one done with no pain relief at all. Old man Doctor said it wouldn't hurt and was just like a Pap smear. Well we discovered that my cervix is minuscule amongst other things so the pain was horrendous. I was crying and biting down on my arm so hard I drew blood. The nurse did say that I was in the minority and most women take two nurofen and are fine. However id rather have my peritonitis or PE again then have that done again.

Gillster · 23/06/2014 22:16

Wowers Serentity! I'll be hoping for none of that. I've generally tolerated my previous procedures (Hycosy, 2 x hysteroscopy and IVF EC) quite well so hoping I won't be too bad.

Have you started taking any IVF drugs yet, sorry can't remember where you are up to.

TheRainDrops · 23/06/2014 22:18

Wank cheese! Assuming we get through this thread as quick as the last one that's a shoe in for the next title!

lovely eggs lumen excellent haul! Hope you're resting up with some quality tlc from DH.

gil can't help on the hysteroscopy, but all the best for Weds! Loving the pom pom action.

kuma the darkest hours are just before dawn (clichés always help right?!). Keeping everything crossed for you - not long to go.

winohh what time's your scan tomoz? I am maintaining a firmly positive outlook on your behalf if that's ok!

funky that brought a tear to my eye, what a lovely gift to give her.

Did any of you watch Murdered By My a Boyfriend? I am still in a bit of shock. Powerful stuff.

greatbigbushybeard · 23/06/2014 22:27

Arr funkymonk your story about granny just made me cry! how lovely.

barking sounds an awful day and not a helpful reaction from your head. Does this woman have children? Surely she should identify a little with what's going on, ours would tell you to go home and he's a man. Seems a bit unfeeling. I know what you mean about wanting to get loose ends tied up. Also from a teacher perspective you know that if you don't do these things it causes a load more work and problems for you later. I think you've been amazing doing all of that, shame you're not getting any recognition for it. Maybe now she knows you're going she's dispensing with niceties. Nice.

Woo hoo 10 eggs-good going lumen, sleep away. I might go to bed soon when the football is over.

So pleased all is well feather

rp you are hilarious as ever, wank Cheese needs to go into the new thread title!! Maybe we could keep using it and it would have to go in the dictionary like 'selfie'! You make a good point about recovering too quickly, people totally forget to give you leeway and expect everything. Are you a teacher too?

kuma we'll do the positive thinking for you.

beakybeak · 23/06/2014 22:47

Barking sorry it's been another shitty day but you are doing so well. You boss is a wanker. Or wank cheese! Ha. Love that RP

Lumen well done on the 10 eggs! That's brilliant! And as Barking says I hope they get the Barry White on tonight so they can get down to business Grin

Feather great news on the good scan!

win crossing everything for you for tomorrow, we will be here for you either way but I am feeling positive for you.

Spare that is lovely of you to look after her, especially in the circs.

Funky I shed a little tear when I read your post, so pleased she woke up to hear, and was clearly over the moon. Sounds like a lot of drugs for you but hopefully this is the one, crossing everything for you. What does the extra frolic acid do?

Kuma good luck for testing, I hate the 2ww as it is! you are doing amazingly getting through it.

I'm pretty sure AF is on the way for me, heavy spotting and v site boobs which are usual pre AF. Boo. Ah well. Off to look for the Q&A and see if my question has been answered!

RevoltingPeasant · 23/06/2014 22:55

Funky I may have something in my eye....

HowsTheSerenity · 23/06/2014 23:02

No drugs yet gills. Had to postpone it a month due to exams (which I'm still cranky that I failed). Start in July now.

barkingtreefrog · 23/06/2014 23:16

I decided it was wine o'clock tonight and poured myself a glass, then DH got home and said he and his mate had decided it was wine night so his mate came round as well and we all drank lovely wine Grin .

funky what's the thinking behind the high dose folic acid? Not heard of that before. I was already on the progesterone after begging the doctor for it, and was going to ask about asprin. Not sure if we automatically get to see the doctor or just rotate to the next round of IUI when we call. I need to write a list of questions and give them to DH to ask the nurses at the scan on Friday when I inevitably fall apart and can't think or say anything.
Nice job on telling granny Smile .

bushy she has children, and last time I mc'd she told me her daughter in law had a mc so she had some understanding. Obviously not any more.... Just doesn't want any disruption.
Thanks to rp I'll be calling her wank cheese in my head for the next few weeks Grin .

nolly did you win the argument about the in laws? Grin

funky sheesh, you got me shedding a few tears there. How beautiful that you both got to share your news with her.

barking Wine I'm raising a virtual glass in your honour.

win masses if Berrie power good vibes coming your way for tomorrow. Will be checking in regularly to see how you get on.

Just binged on three episodes of OITNB. God, I love that show!!

BlindKitty · 24/06/2014 00:04

feather relieved about your scan news! Oh and oitnb is fab!!!! I've only got 2 episodes left

barkingtreefrog · 24/06/2014 06:37

Good luck today win will be keeping everything crossed for you. Berry power!

winohhh · 24/06/2014 07:55

Thanks for the berry power ladies. Keep it coming. Trying to be zen. Ha! Scan isn't till later so don't worry if I don't update till this evening.

Funky, how lovely.

Barking, I still think your head is a twat.

funkymonk · 24/06/2014 07:55

Good luck Win!

Barking/beaky, I've actually no idea about the 5mg Folic acid. The consultant didn't really say. I've read a few things. 1. It helps prevents fetal abnormalities which may be causing early loss

  1. It help enrich the uterus
  2. It's used for women with clotting problems
  3. It's used for women with unexplained losses

It's for whole pregnancy as well, not just for first 12 weeks.

tigerdog · 24/06/2014 08:12

Good luck today win!

beakybeak · 24/06/2014 08:19

Good luck for your scan win!

Feather where are you up to now? I'm dying to chat about it! Blindkitty the last episode is absolutely amazing! I am gutted it's over now! It's been my favourite series for ages.

Barking doing a list sounds like a good plan for Friday, I hope they can give you some answers.

Has anyone read through some of the answers back on sense about science? Towing the NHS line but some bits are interesting. It's not really what id been hoping for but I've not had a relply to my q yet.
