The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

Pixie I think happylass is going to be on a similar protocol with norethisterone. Think it's called an antagonist protocol? There's also something called antagonist flare. So many different ways to crack an egg!

happylass · 11/08/2014 07:30

Hi Pixie. I've recently been for my planning appointment for ICSI and as lady says I'm doing short protocol starting with Norethisterone on cd21. It's a progesterone type drug to help control your cycle. I've been told to take this for 10 days, expect a heavy bleed a few days after stopping, then they'll scan me and I'll start stabbing on cd 2-3. As far as I know Norethisterone is just used to control your AF (though I'm regular as clockwork anyway) and to make sure you have a proper, heavy bleed. Dr Google also tells me it can help to even out follicle growth. Hope this helps. When will you be starting? My AF turned up yesterday so I'll be starting with the Norethisterone in 3 weeks, the day after we get back from honeymoon. Perfect timing!

Jelliebabe2 · 11/08/2014 08:05

Hey Pixie - I think that everyone seems to be told something different! I wouldn't worry too much! I took that for about 3.5 months last time (due to lining issues) but still was okay! Doing without this time. Annoying as we can't time or organise anything but we may get a better crop of eggs (I'm a very poor responder)

Right off for my scan today. Let's see what this weird non period is all about and if Cyril the cyst is gone! Hopeful that they might give me a progesterone injection to bring a proper bleed on.

beakybeak · 11/08/2014 08:31

Happy you couldn't have timed that better!

Lady how's the poas action going? Still all crossed for you!

Jellie good luck for today, fx the cyst has gone.

Smidge001 · 11/08/2014 09:30

Good timing happy! Though fx honeymoon sex might mean you don't need it Wink Or are you supposed to abstain before starting the drugs? (In which case not so good timing!)

I've been feeling very teary for the past 24 hours - and have just seen some spotting so I'm pretty certain our IVF hasn't worked Sad. OTD on weds but I'm now 9.5 days p5dt so I think I'll poas when hubby gets home. Kind of feel more emotionally stable now that it's a no goer than last night when I was really stressed and upset. Not sure how long that'll last when I'm actually faced with that bfn though.

Time to google how long we have to wait before we can try again.

happylass · 11/08/2014 09:39

Oh Smidge sorry to hear that but please don't give up all hope. I'm sure there have been other IVF Berries who've had some spotting but gone on to get a BFP. Have a hand to hold - we are all here if you need us.
I'm not sure about the DTD situation this cycle. It says no unprotected sex whilst stabbing but that won't be until after my next bleed. I'm going to ask the clinic when I ring them today.
Jellie good luck for your appointment. Hope all goes well.

KittenOfWoe · 11/08/2014 10:04

Hi Berries, long time no talky. Been a rough few weeks so have been a bit awol. Just catching up on the missed threads, hope you're all fab xx

tigerdog · 11/08/2014 10:27

Handhold smidge, and fingers crossed for you too.

Hi kitten hope you're ok.

Well timed happy! Seems like there's a fair bit of ivf action in berry hq at the moment.

We're on our way home from a lovely weekend away. Back to normality and to being healthy. Definitely indulged somewhat!

KittenOfWoe · 11/08/2014 11:08

Hey tiger glad you had a lovely time, much deserved.

lady I had a hood chuckle re the crystals thing, I have a viking pendant of Freya hanging from my side of the bedstead to "enhance and protect female energy", riiight. Load of hoohah but can't quite bring myself to take it off....

Hello to the new berries, been catching up on your backstories so hopefully I'm up to date again now.

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend x

chloechloe · 11/08/2014 11:38

Hey smidge Do POAS when DH gets home, I have my fingers crossed. I had spotting on what would have been 14-15 DPO (ie same dates as you) which I guess was implantation spotting. It's not over yet. Good luck and I really hope it works out.

Hi to everyone else - will catch up next week, am heading back to the UK for a wedding now (at which I am BM and HATE my dress, need to man up and paste on a smile!)

KittenOfWoe · 11/08/2014 12:10

Oh smidge I hope it's positive spotting and not the other, fingers definitely crossed for you pet.

chloe ah bless you!

Smidge001 · 11/08/2014 12:42

Thanks everyone for your positive wishes, but unfortunately the hpt has come back a resounding negative Sad. Hubby here with me so will sign off now but didn't want to leave you hanging. Will try and work out next steps after getting used to the disappointment.

happylass · 11/08/2014 12:51

Smidge I'm so very sorry to hear that. Sending lots of Berry love. Take care of yourself and your DP Thanks.

KittenOfWoe · 11/08/2014 12:54

So sorry to hear that, smidge :( Sending hugs your way Thanks

lumen · 11/08/2014 14:20

So sorry smidge, we went through the same last month so know what you are going through, here to talk if you need it. Big hugs x

KittenOfWoe · 11/08/2014 14:37

With the worst possible timing ever given some of the sad news herein, I may today have just had good news. I actually feel like an ass for saying, but my husband can't answer his phone at work and I can't tell anyone else!!

ladybunnikins · 11/08/2014 15:15

Kitten! I hope that means what I think it means.
Smidge I'm so sorry, it's horrible. Take your time planning the next, you need a break. Our clinic wanted 3 months between fresh cycles but I think FETs can be done quicker.

IamKuma · 11/08/2014 15:55

smidge so sorry to hear that; I had a failed IVF in June. I found it really helped taking a month off TTC afterwards and trying to enjoy life a bit. Thanks Thanks

kitten......!

I've had an email from someone called Wendy Wang today, made me chuckle Wink. I image her holding a large sausage.

KittenOfWoe · 11/08/2014 16:54

Peed po3s today, three!! Blasé as f, not even fmu as I wasn't expecting owt (3 days late on AF but irregular cycles and hormonal issues), and got three posi.
Hubby's in work til 8:20 and can't answer his phone (he works with special needs children so can't have it on him). F f f f f f f f f f f f f!!!!!!

lumen · 11/08/2014 17:19

Fab news kitten, hope it all goes easy for you from here, please be the start of another clusterdiff!

lumen · 11/08/2014 17:20

Feel sorry for that lady kuma but it did make me chuckle Grin

KittenOfWoe · 11/08/2014 17:44

kuma that's incredible, what a name!!!

lumen thank you love, total surprise tbh after being told how effed up my hormone levels are. Been ttc since March last year so I'd kind of assumed natural wasn't going to happen for us. I'll be honest, I'm terrified. Waiting for it to be taken away.
Really really hope this starts a trend!!

beakybeak · 11/08/2014 17:45

Smidge I'm really sorry, how awful for you. We are here for you if need to chat/let of steam etc. Thanks

Kitten Eeek! Congrats! What fab news. Nightmare about your dh being uncontactable.

Kuma what an unfortunate name!

tigerdog · 11/08/2014 17:50

smidge I'm so sorry to hear that my lovely. Sad thinking of you and hope you and your dh are looking after each other.

kitten that's very exciting news! So pleased for you!

Off to hot yoga...need to work off the wine, fish and chips and cake consumed over the last few days! Went a bit crazy because there were so many gluten free versions of yummy things on offer, for a change!

KittenOfWoe · 11/08/2014 19:35

Oh bless you tiger don't blame you for indulging then! My mates have a mare trying to find g-free food so it's like a holiday when they get even good bread!
