The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

RevoltingPeasant · 30/07/2014 18:02

Hi all, just stopping in.

Barking sorry to see you are saying au revoir as the thread will be weird without you! But can see it might be right for you. Hope you'll check in periodically if you feel like it.

Kuma very annoying!

Tiger even more annoying!! 3 years ffs. Don't you ever wish the people setting these stupid policies had to go thru it themselves??

Where is Chloe these days? How's it going?

.....also it's not my place to say perhaps but I see a Bushy hasn't pitched up here, so just so people are aware, she had some awful news at her scan. Really gutted for her and am sure you'll all send Berry power her way. :(

beakybeak · 30/07/2014 18:06

Oops fat fingers! Was meant to say aw barking you will be a big miss in this thread but you need to keep yourself right so hopefully this time will let you have some space. Will be thinking of you though so be sure to check in when you do have news.

Gill eek to the stabbing! Finally! I hate it when I have to buy new lots of pregnacare it's so disheartening. Fx for you though.

Has anyone heard from Chloe?

Bushy hope the scan went well!

Pixie yep, I would have most definitely changed jobs if it hadn't been for ttc. As Tiger says it takes over your life. Glad you get on with the new boss though!

Nolly 5 mths on clomid is rubbish, have you any idea what will happen next? Will you be straight on to the IVF list?

I'm off out for a meal soon so looking forward to that midweek treat! Also in the midst of shag fortnight(!) at the moment. I feel really positive today and not sure if it's the acupuncture or not but I've not felt like that in a while. Hope it hangs around!

beakybeak · 30/07/2014 18:09

X post RP hope you are doing well.

Bushy so sorry you've had bad news, I really hoped it was going to be good. Hugs and berry vibes to you. Thanks

WildflowerMarmalade · 30/07/2014 21:01

Hello Berries!

Tiger I am Shock that they are treating your inquiry as an FOI request. Just when you think that there cannot possibly be any more obstacles they come up with a new one. Plod on.

Happy your wedding dress sounds lovely. A lace wedding dress is so gorgeous and chic. You will look superb. And your honeymoon sounds divine too. I was absolutely wiped out tired after our wedding. I think most people find that. Staying put and watching sunsets will be just perfect.

Kuma stupid polyp / fibroid. It needs to get out if the way because you've got work to do in there.

beaky and lumen I too really like seeing my acu lady. After the first treatment I came home and went straight to sleep for about two hours, then woke up really refreshed. Sometimes I wonder if it is all just woo, but I always feel better after seeing her. Also it is nice to have someone to talk to who has seen lots of women going through the same thing. She always has good practical advice as well as the needles.

barking you will be missed. Take good care of yourself and build up your reserves for the end of the year. Drop in when/ if you fee like it.

So sorry to hear of bushy's trouble, it is so unfair.

Off to plant out a couple of herbs I bought at the weekend and haven't had chance to sort out yet. I'll be digging in the dark at this rate!

TheRainDrops · 30/07/2014 21:28

Just lots of hugs and love for lovely bushy. MMC is the perhaps the cruelest trick of them all. Be extra good to yourself and DH, you're such a warm, caring and strong person, it won't help at all to hear it now but those traits will pull you both through this in time. We're all here if you want to chat.

barking selfishly sad that you're taking a sabbatical, you're a big cornerstone to our little ttc world and it won't be the same without you but I totally understand your reasons. Hope you might still lurk in t'other place(s).

kuma grrr! how annoying, are you going try the suggestion r.e. trying to get a cancellation?

beaky shag fortnight here too! Going for a bonus one tonight as have had a lot of OV type cramping today.

nolly hope your last week is going well. Will you have a break after?

tiger any sign of the stupid ugly mean old witch?

Raises a Wine to tiger in solidarity. 3 year waits are shite but at least we're nearly at the end of ours. Bloody bureaucrats always chuck obstacles at us - can't believe that simple question is being treated as FOI!

gil gotta love a saucy dream, although whenever I have them they rarely feature MrP. Sadly, they usually don't feature Alexander Skarsgard or anyone even remotely sexy - usually inappropriate and unattractive work related people! Wtf is that all about?

Anyone here use a Mooncup? I am contemplating it but scared of the potential for it to go wrong and ending up with a mini bucket of blood tipped out all over myself.

WildflowerMarmalade · 30/07/2014 21:59

Hear! Hear! to what RP said to bushy and barking big love to you both.

I have a mooncup RP and have used it. Rather tricky to get used to and all a bit Blush. Emma Cannon's book recommended it so I tried it out. It did make AF shorter.

I liked it once it was in because you can just forget about for ages, but I dreaded taking it out again. That's why I don't really use it now. There was also a bathroom spillage incident, at home luckily. It would have been horrifying if I had been at work or somewhere.

tigerdog · 31/07/2014 06:15

Oh bushy if you're reading this please know that I'm thinking of you and sending you lots of love and berry strength to help you and your dh through this. Sorry that things haven't worked out. It really is unfair xx

chloechloe · 31/07/2014 09:03

Hey ladies, I'm back after a few days in Marbs with the girls. Lots to catch up on so will try as best as I can.

bushy I saw your heartbreaking news when I was lurking on the other thread. I'm so very gutted for you and DH. My thoughts are with you and I really hope you both manage to get through this together as well as possible. I'm so so sorry.

Hey beaky Am glad that you've found a good acu lady. lumen I would definitely think about giving it a go for your next cycle. I like to think it helped with mine. I even ovulated on my FET (albeit on CD25) which was a mega surprise as I don't ovulate at all usually due to my severe PCOS.

kuma Sorry to hear about the delays with your natural cycle.

tiger That 3 year wat is frankly ridiculous! How far in are you? Is there any chance of lying about your dates or is it too late for that?

gillster Good luck with your jabs from tomorrow. Are they to down reg?

barking Am selfishly sorry that you're saying au revoir for the time being. You will be missed but I understand your reasons. I really hope that the waiting period goes quickly, that you get some answers and that you can recharge your batteries for the next steps. Your time will come, please believe it. I just wanted to say that I'm really impressed with how you've dealt with everything over the last few weeks. You're an inspiration to us all. Good luck and hope to see you around.

AFM I hope you don't mind me hanging around. Had our second US yesterday. All OK, saw the heartbeat, am 6w+3. Have finally allowed myself to get excited and it's lovely. I figured if it all goes wrong I'll be devastated anyway. If it works out, I'll never be able to get this time back so I may as well enjoy it.

Hi to everyone I've missed off, there's too much to catch up on unfortunately so am sending general good luck vibes everyone's way!

RevoltingPeasant · 31/07/2014 09:11

Hi Chloe - feel free to join us properly on the chopper thread whenever you want :)

nolly3 · 31/07/2014 09:15

I'm so sorry, bushy. You really don't deserve this. It's so unfair Thanks
Here if you need us

Thanks for letting us know rp.

Rain I've got a mooncup and have been getting to know it rather better than I thought I would when i optimisically bought it about 18 months ago. If you don't mind the squeamish and are OK with practising to get it in place OK, I much prefer it - shorter AF (I think - possibly because flow is unhampered?) and of course much more environmentally friendly. Rinse in the shower in the morning and then you can forget it til the evening. I do wear a liner too though.

glad you liked acu beaky. I have my last woo needles this afternoon myself. 6 months of clomid and then who knows. all depends on the new Fc...

lumen · 31/07/2014 09:15

Glad all is ok chloe, was starting to worry.

Our thoughts are with you and your dh bushy

chloechloe · 31/07/2014 10:39

Thanks rp maybe I'll come and dangle off the bottom of the ladder with one hand!?

tigerdog · 31/07/2014 16:45

Glad to hear all is progressing with you chloe of course stick around and keep us posted. I'm 20 months into my 3 year ttc...not sure what is on the record but I was stupidly honest because I believed what it said on the infertility network website - 2 years ttc for ivf and was happy to try for that amount of time before interventions.

The FOI thing is also a load of bollocks. Annoyingly I do know the people responsible but can't easily ask for the information without it being obvious it is for personal rather than work reasons, so actually had to get OH to send the request to protect my own privacy. Why FOI when all we are asking for is the document that informs their decision making?!

rain not brave enough to use a mooncup - would be constantly paranoid about overflow and spillage! Witch hasn't arrived yet but ff changed my ovulation date so probably only 11dpo today. Big spot on chin and general feeling of gloom suggests she is on her wicked way though.

Still feeling very gutted for bushy the unfairness of this whole business feels all to apparent today.

beakybeak · 31/07/2014 21:50

Wild did you get your herbs planted?! I have a strawberry plant on the side I've been watering for about 3 months but really should plant!

Fx for this cycle Rain! Is your area the same as Tigers where you have to be trying for 3 years? That's so disheartening. The waiting lists increase the time enough anyway.

Chloe glad to hear from you! And pleased all is well so far. You seem to have a really good perspective on all of this and yes you may as well enjoy it if you can!

Are you going to stop acu since you're moving Nolly? Will you be changing job then? Or were you travelling down anyway? Sorry I can't remember.

Tiger do you use opks or just temp? FF seems to always change your dates! There's still time yet anyway! I can't believe how difficult it is to get some info. Could you try maybe saying that you've been trying for almost 3 years and see what happens?

Bushy if you're reading this, I've been thinking of you. As others have said it's so unfair and I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

IamKuma · 31/07/2014 22:01

bushy if you are around, then know I'm thinking of you and am so sorry to hear your news. Thanks

IamKuma · 31/07/2014 22:16

Rain I am a mooncup user, have been for about 8 years now. I started using one when I was going travelling in Asia for a few months and didn't want to have to worry about finding tampons, or carrying months worth in my backpack. I've not looked back, it is really convenient and I haven't had any major mishaps. The only time I don't use it is for yoga - a yoga teacher of mine told me she had leaked whilst doing yoga and I decided not to risk it! My tips are that if you are emptying in a public/work loo, then put some tissue in the loo and empty on top, this seems to ensure that everything flushes away rather than hanging around in the bowl! Also, if you're out and about, look for the disabled loo as it will usually have a sink in the cubicle.

chloe good to hear you are doing well and had a nice few days away!

barking you may not be here now, but we'll be waiting for your return!

So, since the 3DSIS scan, I had a call yesterday from the chap who did it saying that they definitely wanted to do a hysteroscopy right away and he would get back to me ASAP. He called again today to say he had spoken to the doctor and that if they can't get an appointment they would do the cycle and freeze the embryo and do the hysteroscopy after. I'm generally quite down about the whole thing. I'm still bleeding after the scan although I've seen online that this can happen for a couple of days; I've also barely seen DH in the last 2 weeks due to his work commitments and he is away this weekend too. Seeing the acupuncturist tomorrow though, which I am looking forward to, hopefully that will make me feel like I've got some control over the process....

Gillster · 31/07/2014 23:07

Bushy, not sure if you're reading this but just wanted to know that I'm thinking of you and am gutted with your news.

Barking - I think you've made a good decision. Have a few months off and live your life to the full and ignore all this TTC malarkey.

Kuma hope you get some good news about the hysteroscopy soon. Do you know if it's under a GA or not? I've had both and couldn't believe how quick the non GA procedure was. Is it worth asking about an endometrial scratch at the same time?

Great news Chloe!

Just did a sub 30 minute 5km run this evening so feel chuffed although it was VERY hard going. Haven't been sub 30 for over 2 years due to various niggly injuries. Was desperate to get one in before I get diffed in a few weeks time. Wink (go positive thinking!)

In RL we visited some gay friends last weekend and they are also trying IVF by using donor eggs and a surrogate abroad. They have three embryos in the freezer and will probably have them put back into their surrogate at a similar time to me. Will be weird if we both end up diffed at the same time.

Those who have down regged before, did you suffer from many side effects?

lumen · 01/08/2014 07:35

Hi gill I found I was really tired when on the dr drugs, was going to bed by 8pm each night. Other than that I was lucky not to suffer any other side effects. Make sure you up your water intake though as they are dehydrating so can cause headaches. When is your dr scan?

happylass · 01/08/2014 07:39

Morning all. Bushy if you're there our thoughts are with you. Hope you're taking it easy at this difficult time. Take care Thanks
Kuma I'm sorry you're feeling down and that things aren't going smoothly for you. Nothing's ever simple eh? Hope your acupuncture has the required effect.
Barking I think you've made the right decision in taking a break from TTC. You've more than been through it these last few years. Hopefully the new job and a few months off will make a world of difference to you. Take care.
Tiger the NHS wait is at least 3 years here too. They dress it up a different way in that you can go on the list once you've been TTC 2 years but once on the list you have to wait a minimum of a year (though the wait is currently 18 months) "just in case you get pg" (yeah cos that's likely to happen!). As it stands we'll have been trying 3.5 years by the time we're entitled to treatment.
Nothing much happening here. Got a private appointment next week so hopefully will have some kind of plan then.
Spa day and afternoon tea for me today with some friends. It's almost the weekend! Have a good one all.

Gillster · 01/08/2014 08:34

Hi Lumen - DR scan is 15th.

I had a positive OPK yesterday so weird not to have been DTD over the last few nights. Probably a blessing in disguise given that DH hurt his back yesterday!

greatbigbushybeard · 01/08/2014 09:20

Hello everyone, I am here and have been reading both threads... Not sure where I fit in now tho. I just want to say thank you ladies so much, you really are so thoughtful. And tiger you said it girl ( the unfairness being all too apparent). Scan day was a daze. We've talked lots and went through lots of emotions. I think yesterday I just felt empty and to be frank, depressed. It's like I had to shake myself from being sucked into the mire of it. Yesterday morning poor dh had to eventually go to work and he couldn't stop crying and he's not really a crier tbh. He just said he felt sad. It's shit but what can you do, back on the ttc pony again. Even started thinking of buying supplements again as need to get my eggs good again! I did do co enzyme q10 and royal jelly last time. I'm meeting a friend for lunch later ( she knows) and there's a holland and Barrett near there so may go get some stuff. Is it beaky or tiger who is our hb queen? Any new wonder thing I should take to help and also was wondering is there anything I can take to help this process along e.g, raspberry leaf tea?

Big thank you to those of you that sent a private message, not sure I'm ready to reply as it really sets me off crying but it meant a lot to read them, I was really touched by how thoughtful you are. Made me realise how strong and supportive us women can be. (Smile)

happy a spa day sounds lovely! you get in that hot tub and enjoy it. I had a bittersweet goats cheese sandwich and coffee yesterday because I could.

gil drink lots of water as I did get headaches and bloating but other than that, not too bad.

kuma mooncups scare me a bit! Hope your hysteroscopy comes through soon. I had a laparoscopy, not sure if they're fairly similar as they shot dye through tubes and scraped any endo away. Mine was under GA.

Tomorrow we're off for a few days to devon, bit sad, that as I'll still be miscarrying, we won't be able to do some of the stuff planned but I am going to have a bloody drink, I can tell you that for nothing.

lumen · 01/08/2014 10:39

Great to hear from you bushy. Hope you and your dh manage to enjoy your time away, have many drinks for all of us.

lumen · 01/08/2014 10:44

Also quick question for knowledgeable, rattling berries Wink how much royal jelly and co enzyme q10 do you take as there are many mg options on the h&b website?

chloechloe · 01/08/2014 11:28

tiger Gutted you still have a fair bit to wait on the NHS. I hope you get a FUNHS in the meantime!

kuma I'm sorry things aren't working out as planned with your cycle. As if the whole thing isn't stressful enough without unexpected curveballs at every turn. Hope the acu today helps.

gillster Well done on your run. I hope there's no more record breaking in your near future and that 1st tri exhaustion soon scuppers all chaces of running PBs! Can't help re the downregging - one of the few advantages of not ovulating is that I got to skip that bit!

bushy Good to hear from you, you're such a brave, strong berry. It sounds like you and DH are doing a great job of supporting each other. RRL tea is supposed to help - I recall barking took it and that it got things moving. Well done as well for already planning to get back on the TTC horse - your time will come, and when it does the baby you have will be even more precious for everything you've been through.
