The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

Sending you strong Berrie vibes for tomorrow lumen! And to you on Friday chloe.

funky so how are you doing? Ok I hope Flowers

And barking it's great you're being referred. I'm so. Sorry you're going through this.

Hello everyone else! Feel like I've missed so much on the thread. Know i sound like a broken record, but will catch up properly soon.

greatbigbushybeard · 08/07/2014 21:42

Hola! I am here funky. Appt went well thanks, have another Saturday.

Best of luck tomorrow lumen, totally remember not fitting into my trousers after Ivf too! didn't go down for ages and when I had an early scan she said my ovaries were swollen, probably the case for you too. My wardrobe needs a sort too, am now just wearing a lot of the same thing that I can fit in!

Chloe you could have a drink or two but not finish them and as barking says once people have beer goggles on they don't noticed also get barking in her t5- very naice!!

funkymonk · 08/07/2014 21:50

That's great Bushy!

All the best for tomorrow Lumen!

How are you Feather? I'm ok thanks. Fed up, but aren't all Berries who don't have a seat in the chopper?! Wondering if there's a way out of this for me. Felt all confident that there was a plan this time, but we didn't make it as far as being able to start the plan this time! I have appt at end of the month and have a list of tests I would like nhs or otherwise.

TheRainDrops · 08/07/2014 22:01

lumen gooooooood luck for tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

funky glad you popped by, hopefully the appt will go some way towards restoring some of your faith and reassure you that you can, and will, get on the chopper.

bushy glad it all went well, sorry for not remembering - I need to start keeping notes on what everyone's got coming up, it's a busy thread and I have a crappo memory! What's the Saturday appt for?

feather, rp - where are you guys up to now? Any news on your possible infection rp?

Watching poor old Brazil having their proverbial pants pulled down in front of the whole world, seems unfair for the host nation to get so royally humiliated but YAY Germany! Grin

greatbigbushybeard · 08/07/2014 22:08

Yes rain you are whipping Germany's ass!!

Saturday appt is more form filling, talking through scans and arranging 12 week scan.

barkingtreefrog · 08/07/2014 22:33

15 minutes left for Brazil to score 7 goals and stop Germany scoring any more. Hmm. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I think Germany might just have this one in the bag Hmm .

Make that 8! GrinGrin

chloechloe · 08/07/2014 22:48

I think I may need to call in sick tomorrow as I cannot bear the thought of all the gloating after tonight's result. Poor Brazil. Sad

Good news on your appt bushy Smile

lumen · 09/07/2014 05:17

So it's a BFN for me berries, just feel numb. Hmm Thanks for all your positive wishes though.

barkingtreefrog · 09/07/2014 05:57

Oh lumen I am so, so sorry Thanks. Look after yourself and rant on here as much as you need to. It's just not fair.

I'm so sorry lumen Sad . We're here for you if need us. Big hugs. Xxx

Gillster · 09/07/2014 07:23

Noooo - gutted! Sending big hugs to you and your DH. Look after yourselves. Xxx

FeatherFeather11 · 09/07/2014 07:30

lumen oh, fuck. I'm so sorry. Be kind to yourself and just try to take some time out with mr lumen to regroup when you can. Flowers

funkymonk · 09/07/2014 07:31

So sorry Lumen. What a disappointment for you. Can you stay home today?

lumen · 09/07/2014 07:40

Working from home today funky so don't have to face commute and other people. Thanks for your kind words everyone.

greatbigbushybeard · 09/07/2014 07:42

Oh no lumen. Is there any chance it was an incorrect reading? The test they gave me was pretty shit and when used a first response was much clearer.

HampshireBlues · 09/07/2014 09:00

Lumen so sorry to see your news. Big berry hugs from here.

Barking sorry you have not completed, am keeping everything crossed that you don't need intervention. Your DH sounds amazing, good on him for the extra research. It is so refreshing when Drs bend me the rules slightly, I really hope that you can get some answers and the RMC.

In a bit of a status quo here at the moment, hence radio silence. DH is working fro home most of the week so it is just me and the pooch. Good but not good if you get my drift. We had the obligatory work do over the weekend; lovely apart from those who were pg or those gushing over their children at home. I really hate the odd look that you get when you say that you don't have children and the presumptive comments that go with it! So wee made a tactical withdrawal back to the hotel room at 11. Poor DH.

TheRainDrops · 09/07/2014 09:06

lumen I'm so sorry, it's not fair. Take whatever time you need and know we're here for you when you need us.

hb those looks are awful, but if they're people I don't know especially well I do find it easier now to just think 'fuck 'em'. I hope you managed to enjoy the weekend aside from that stuff

WildflowerMarmalade · 09/07/2014 09:52

So sorry to hear your news lumen, that really sucks. Thinking of you. Here's my suggestion: get lots of chocolate and shove it in your face.

KittenOfWoe · 09/07/2014 10:04

Ahhh balls. Sorry to hear that, lumen hope you're doing okay as unlikely as that is. Sending you massive hugs, love.

KittenOfWoe · 09/07/2014 10:50

Ladies, I got a letter today from the NHS that, quite frankly, I don't understand. Hoping your superior experience and intellect might be able to help a sister berry out here?
So I first approached the doc after TTC for over a year, had blood tests (hormone levels all over the place), physical (not heard back re swabs yet but she said things looked okay at the time), ultrasound and dildocam to check for PCOS but sonographer didn't see clusters, said it would take 7-10 days for the report to reach my doc so I made an appt for Friday morning this week (which would be the tenth day I think?).
Then I just got this letter this morning saying appointment request and telling me to book in with either Stepping Hill Hospital Gynaecology Infertility Service, or St Mary's Hospital Infertility Pre-Assessment Service. Um, is this standard or is this bad? Just don't know what to make of it, husb is at work, and I can't get through on their appt phoneline....

Just a bit out of the blue, no context to explain why the appt, etc.

barkingtreefrog · 09/07/2014 10:58

Don't panic kitten all is ok! Standard procedure varies across the country (grr) but essentially step 1 is gp, they'll organise bloods etc. After this they refer you on to step 2 - everything else is done though the infertility clinic (and what that is depends on where you are - I didn't get a dildocam until I went to the clinic, and I had an hsg there as well before I saw the consultant). Once the gp has ticked all the boxes they're not really involved at all, their role is just the referral. Your first fertility clinic (or infertility clinic, another things that varies) appointment is likely to be with a nurse who will ask you lots of questions and arrange the tests that they like to have done before you see the consultant.

Just booked an appt online for admin, apparently I'm being sent a quetionnaire etc and then when that's returned I'll have an actual appt? Referral made by my doc.

KittenOfWoe · 09/07/2014 11:05

Awwwwwwwwww thanks barking
That's calmed me down a bit, thank you love. Just the out-of-the-blue factor as well as the repeated use of the word "infertility" freaked me out. That and the (I'm guessing standard small print) bit saying "Under the NHS Constitution, you have the right to start non-emergency, consultant-led treatment within 18 weeks from referral - or where cancer is suspected, to be seen by a specialist within two weeks of urgent referral."
My Nana had a large cyst on one of her ovaries you see that went cancerous - she ended up with ovarian cancer and had a hysterectomy and chemo, followed by a radical hysterectomy to remove more as it spread to the soft tissue around her cervix. Ho hum, paranoid android 1 - sensible adult 0.

lumen · 09/07/2014 11:12

Thx all. Bushy we did a FRER at the same time which was also negative and I am 13dp3dt so safe to say it should have shown by now.

Kitten glad your doc hasn't delayed on your referral, better to start them looking sooner rather than later. As someone said it is different in all areas, we had a referral from the docs to the infertility bit of the hospital, then from then on to the fertility clinic. It has taken over a year from seeing the doctor to doing our only round of nhs funded IVF.
