Morning all, The sun has his hat on here which always makes things better, hope he's playing out where you are too!

Notta, I'm 33. As for caffeine/drinking I don't drink tea or coffee and never have as don't like them so that one is an easy tick in the box for me! Caffeine in chocolate however is a different matter......Drinking I do like!! Smile Like a few of you have said I've cut down, did stop completely for a little bit but that didn't seem to work so now I'm just treating myself if I fancy but not going mad, feels a more balanced approach. Have also stopped pillows under bum etc and just trying to be 'normal' about it all.

Lil, yes you're right a hycosy and an HSG are the same thing effectively but the hycosy uses ultrasound and the HSG uses X-ray. I'm annoyed af came so bloomin early this cycle as now means I'll be cd10/11 when it's done (and therefore may have already ovulated) whereas if she'd come when she was supposed to I'd have only been cd8 and won't have felt we stood more of a chance this month. But nevermind, c'est la vie. Hope yours goes ok, good luck and keep us posted!

Happy Frrrrrrriiiiiiiidddddddaaaaaaayyyyyyy! Grin

Blue, you are doing things right, it's out of your hands, it's out of all of our hands, the more I go through all of this the more I realise that it is down to luck/timing/fate...whatever. But you mustn't beat yourself up about it. Try and focus on the fact that we're all in the same boat so it is not so unusual, it's just no one speaks about it in RL as it's such an emotional thing. So I think that then skews it so it seems like everyone else gets pregnant easily as they're usually the only cases we hear about. We'll get there, we will, hang in there.

I gave up caffeine in my tea about 6cups a day when we started ttc. I now prefer decaff! dh won't give up caffeine so I switched his instant coffee for decaff and he still doesn't know about 6 weeks on. now I just need him to wait the lattes and Pepsi! I'd never thought about caffeine in chocolate!
my dh is 32 this year.

one im not allowed to ttc the month of my hsg as the dye "wouldn't be very nice for a baby" just wondering if you've been told the same?

Vic I hope your dh sorts himself out and gets the results today. can you phone for him? my Dr was happy to speak to me about dhs results before she even knew he was with me and she was on speaker phone!

back to work today grr. but at least I can keep my own hours and be done by 4 Grin

Lil I thought about asking if dh's results were in yesterday when I went to the docs to pick up a prescription. I thought they wouldn't tell me the results so I didn't bother. Plus there was a queue of people behind me at reception!

Well ill I think I have gone officially crackers! I swore the leaflet said it's fine to dtd after the procedure but you got me thinking and I've just reread it and it doesn't say that ANYWHERE!! No idea why that thought was in my head, may have read it on MN page somewhere as have been scouring the threads ....so looks like we're out this month anyway. Will of course check with the consultant next week but I'm taking it that if that's what you've been told it'll be the same dye I should imagine so no go cycle 13 for me. I'm presuming they will be able to tell me if I've ovulated or about to ovulate from the scan??

"The procedure should ideally be planned for the first half of the menstrual cycle and with you taking measures to avoid being pregnant during the menstrual cycle in which HyCoSy will be undertaken"

This is why I was never good at exams, need to actually read what is written and not just make up what I want it to say in my head Hmm

Welcome Hibou and Holly. Sorry to see that you have had to join us!
Onelife - I would look on this month as being a free pass to drunken debauchery and caffeine, then Back on the wagon next month. I suspect I will be getting one of these soon. Mr Jesse second sample ontuesday, then we are going to gp to get nhs referral, and simultaneously going to see someone privately (excellent if expensive private clinic 10 mins from us) just to get some info.
Cannot believe I am almost on cycle 13. Where has the last year gone.
I hate to statistics - after a year you have approx 50% chance of conceiving in second year - which also means a 50% chance of needing assisted conception.
Wine tonight I think. Still spotting AF due tomorrow x

m33r · 09/05/2014 11:38

vic for ivf you need to be alcohol free during it all but not been told to stop now. Nothing at all about caffeine. ?? I think they make it up as they go.

RE sa results, our doc wouldn't speak to me without a palaver but I eventually got 'permission' tongi for the print out as I work more flexibly than DH.

RE hsg, because it is an x-Ray you MUSTN'T be pg when you go in. It is VERY bad for a foetus / blasto etc. I'm hoping to go in on CD 8 to not rule me out of trying that month but very much doubt our luck will run that way.

jess that is my LEAST favourite stat... I can't even think about it...
After yesterday's confidence, I think I'll be early with AF. At least I won't get my hopes up...!

Anyway, it's FRIDAY!

Well there goes cycle 11 for me, AF arrived this morning, after all my bloody talk of whether to POAS or not serves me right really! I knew she was on her way but you can't help but feel disappointed can you. DH officially no longer wants to talk about it. I treated myself to a naughty mcdonalds for lunch and right next to me in the queue was a tiny newborn in a pram. Had to run into the toilets for a little cry. In a way it's good I'm not this month as it means I can have a fun drunken girly weekend in 2 weeks with my friends, but each additional month it doesn't work just reinforces that there must be something wrong. I am waiting for the nurse to ring me this afternoon to get the results from my blood tests, reception told me they would have rung if there were any issues, or I needed to discuss with a Dr which is utter bollocks as last time I rang to get results they told me everything was fine when it wasn't!! Grr!!

Quite a few of us making some progress on this godawful road anyway with scans and appointments. Let's hope we will be seeing plenty of BFPs soon.
Jesse I was told different stats! Something like 80% will conceive in a year, and 99% will conceive by the end of the second year?!

Is it too early to open the wine?

Arggghhhhhhh! Just got dh to call the docs finally and the results aren't in yet! They said to call back in a week! A WEEK! I wanted to know whether it was worth dtd this month! Dh has ruined my plan already by getting wasted last night. Wanted to dtd EOD starting cd8 and yesterday was cd10. Today he's stupidly hungover coz he drunk himself sick last night and doesn't know if he can perform today either! Will just have to wait til cd12. Luckily my opks are neg still.

Just found a bit of sick on the bathroom floor and made him get down on his hands and knees with a cloth. Honestly. I thought he would have grown up by 36! And I wanted to make a baby with this man?! Don't want to dtd today anyway as he stinks, and the bed stinks, gonna have to change that before bedtime too and febreeze the mattress. [Angry]

Sorry ginger, cross posts (quite literally too!) Sorry af got you hunny. Its shit. Its all shit. And doctors are shit.

Hope you get good news from your bloods, and they've actually got results to give! Its all the waiting that's so pants too. Why can't we instantly know?

I heard 80% by 1 year, 98 by 2 years. I'm in the 2%. How unlucky is that?! Mind you I'm 18months and I read somewhere that it was 94 point something, so I'm currently in the 6%. Shit.

Nhs statistics 84% end year 1, 92% end year 2, which means half of all those not conceived year 1, will conceive year 2. Stats a bit more hazy from year 2 onwards x

Afternoon,

Vicky How have you not slapped your DH lol luckily my DP doesnt drink, I used to drink alot when I was single but dont drink anything now unless a special occasion.
How annoying about the result what the hell are they doing with them?? stupid doctors.

Holly Welcome

Ginger Sorry about AF what a bitch!!

Statistics make me sad so I try not to take notice but you cant help thinking after a year that there must be something seriously wrong.

Im wishing away this week so that I can finally have my docs appointment and find out whats going on. although AF due the same day and I dont want her to turn up
And talk to her about the new pains and bleeding to.

Feeling fine today a bit bloated still and mega tired cannot wait to finish work tomorrow and get home.

Hope every one is ok

I'm the same blue it just doesn't seem right that there isn't a problem if it is taking this long, If all was hunky dory then within 6 months surely!
Well I spoke to the nurse earlier and she said that my bloods confirmed that I am ovulating. The progesterone at 6dpo was 42 and at 10dpo down to 19, and the Dr is happy with those numbers. I don't feel any happier though to be honest, now I just think, well what is the problem then! Makes this journey all the more confusing and longer. Just holding out for DHs SA at the end of June, and think we will take a bit of a backseat until then, with a few social events planned for May and June. I don't know if I can not think about it though! Any tips mama!?
vic can't believe they told you to ring back in a week!! How long will that make it then you've been waiting on results? Sounds like your DH had a good birthday though!!

Report
victoria401 · 09/05/2014 20:59

Well technically we've been waiting for the sa since the referral that never was back in early Feb! It was 8 weeks til we phoned to check and they hadn't sent his referral letter, then another 2 weeks at least til they got him in in a cancellation. His actual sa was April 28th and they said approx 10 days for result. I think its been 12 days?

Hey ladies. Just had a quick scan, not so up to date on all the events. Hope you are all doing ok.

Ginger, this is the first month I know nothing. I haven't recorded or noted anywhere the first day of my cycle and genuinely forget when it was as I was very busy with work and other things at that time. I didn't do opks, didn't plan to dtd just when we wanted to (which is generally quite often) and have been getting on with life, focusing on work/friends/decorating and keeping very busy! It has worked and I don't feel under pressure or stressed by the process for once! Hoping it works for a bfp at some stage also obviously!!!!

Hope everyone has nice plans for the wkend? Anything nice going on ladies?

onelife lol Grin isn't autocorrect brilliantly annoying! sorry I've wiped you out for the month...perhaps ignorance is bliss.

m33r its not just the Cray radiation, its the dye. I will Gabe hsg before cd10, and don't ov until cd20-25 but I still can't have unprotected sex at all that cycle as they dont want you to get pg after the procedure.

confused the hell out of me reading other threads as ppl were saying they got their bfp in cycle they had hsg, which is why I wondered what you guys were told compared to me. I guess there will always be people who don't follow the rules though.

Vic I really feel for you honey. its so frustrating when we are doing everything we can to make this happen, only for the men who are supposed to want to make it happen with us to put obstacles in the way! I hope you enjoy having a nice clean bed at least! even if you're only going to sleep in it tonight Thanks

cd9 and was supposed to poas for my cbfm this morning but went to the loo before I remembered... maybe I should just not bother with it this month, it could be a sign!

I hate all those stats about pg rates. it doesn't stop it feeling like 99.8% get pg on cycle 1 and you're the remaining 0.2% yourself! still I guess it does happen. there has to be people above and below the average for it to be an average! that's my positive input for the day!

blue stop wishing your life away, the drs app will come soon enough Wink

Sorry Jesse :-(

I'm awake early feeling crap :-( started getting a cold yesterday just before my hol! Gave up packing and rested the rest of day to try and kick it. Went to bed at 8pm with a green tea. Woken up with a massive headache and Snotty face. Still so much to sort out before we leave later. I think caravaning involves much more prep than flying abroad. Have to remember crap like teatowels and bog rolls! I'm also hoping dh will still want to shag me if I'm ill and he doesn't want it! Kissing free shagging maybe? Or just turn me over but then nose will run into the pillow urgh?!

Anyway, have a good weekend guys. Hopfully my back of beyond camp site will have reception and I can check in on you here :-) x
